덕평지역(德平地域)의 옥천누층군(沃川累層群)에 분포(分布)하는 변성이질암(變成泥質岩)과 바륨-바나듐 백운모(白雲母)의 지구화학적(地球化學的) 및 광물학적(鑛物學的) 특성(特性) (Geochemistry and Mineralogy of Metapelite and Barium-Vanadium Muscovite from the Ogcheon Supergroup of the Deokpyeong Area, Korea)

  • The coal formation of the Deokpyeong area are interbedded along metapelites of the Ogcheon Supergroup, which are composed mainly of graphite, quartz, muscovite and associated with small amounts of biotite, chlorite, pyrite and barite. The ratios of $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$, $Al_2O_3/Na_2O$ and $K_2O/Na_2O$ of the coaly metapelite are variable and wide range from 1.80 to 10.21, from 27.8 to 388.8 and from 7.6 to 61.8, respectively. These coal formation were deposited in basin of marine environments, and the REE of these rocks are not influenced with metamorphism and hydrothermal alterations on the basis of $Al_2O_3$ versus La, La against Ce, the ratios of La/Ce (0.19 to 0.99) and Th/U (0.02 to 4.75). These rocks also show much variation in $La_N/Yb_N$ (1.19 to 22.89), Th/Yb (0.14 to 21.43) and La/Th (0.44 to 13.67), and their origin is explained by derivation from a mixture of sedimentary and igneous rocks. The wide range in trace and REE element characteristics as Co/Th (0.12 to 2.78), La/Sc (0.33 to 10.18), Sc/Th (0.57 to 5.73), V/Ni (8 to 2347), Cr/V (0.02 to 0.67) and Ni/Co (1.56 to 32.95) of these coaly metapelites argues for inefficient mixing of the various source lithologies during sedimentation. Deep to pale green barium-vanadium muscovites (vanadium-oellacherite) have been found in this coal formations. Modes of occurrence and grain size of muscovite are heterogeneous, but most of the barium and vanadium-bearing muscovites occur along the boundaries between graphite and quartz grains, ranging from 200 to $350{\mu}m$ in length and from 40 to $60{\mu}m$ in width. Results of X-ray diffraction data of the minerals characterized to be monoclinic system with $a=5.249{\AA}$, $b=8.939{\AA}$, $c=20.924{\AA}$ and ${\beta}=95.894^{\circ}$. Representative chemical formula of the muscovite was $(Na_{0.09}K_{1.44}Ba_{0.46})(Al_{2.75}Ti_{0.07}V_{0.56}Fe_{0.08}Mg_{0.50})(Si_{6.12}Al_{1.88})O_{22}$. The V possibly substitute octahedral Al, and the Ba is coupled substitution of $K^+Si^{4+}=Ba^{2+}Na^+Ca^{2+}$, which compositional ranges of V and Ba are from 0.42 to 0.69 and from 0.34 to 0.56 based on $O_{22}$, respectively. Formation mechanism of the barium-vanadium muscovites in the coaly metapelite is shown that the formed by high pressure and temperature from regional metamorphism origanated during diagenesis at the interface between a basinal brine and organic matter.

다수의 병렬 입.출력 환경을 위한 높은 노이즈 마진을 갖는 LVDS I/O 회로 (High Noise Margin LVDS I/O Circuits for Highly Parallel I/O Environments)

  • 본 논문에서는 다수의 병렬 입.출력 환경을 위한 높은 노이즈 마진을 갖고 있는 LVDS I/O 회로를 소개한다. 제안된 LVDS I/O회로는 송신단과 수신단으로 구성되어 있으며 송신단 회로는 차동위상 분할기와 공통모드 피드백(common mode feedback)을 가지고 있는 출력단으로 이루어져 있다. 차동위상 분할기는 SSO(simultaneous switching output) 노이즈에 의해 공급전압이 변하더라도 안정된 듀티 싸이클(duty cycle)과 $180^{\circ}$의 위상차를 가진 두 개의 신호를 생성한다. 공통모드 피로백을 가지고 있는 출력단 회로는 공급전압의 변화에 상관없이 일정한 출력전류를 생성하고 공통모드 전압(common mode voltage)을 ${\pm}$0.1V 이내로 유지한다. LVDS 수신단 회로는 VCDA(very wide common mode input range differential amplifier)구조를 사용하여 넓은 공통 입력전압 범위를 확보하고 SSO 노이즈에 의한 공급 전압의 변화에도 안정된 듀티 싸이클(50% ${\pm}$ 3%)을 유지하여 정확한 데이터 복원이 가능하다. 본 논문에서 제안한 LVDS I/O 회로는 0.18um TSMC 라이브러리를 기본으로 하여 설계 되었으며 H-SPICE를 이용하여 시뮬레이션 하였다.

안테나로부터 인접 전송선로에 전달되는 노이즈 전력 예측 (Prediction of Noise Power Disturbance from Antenna to Transmission Line System)

  • 최근 모바일 기기는 더욱 더 경량화, 집적화되고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 안테나 출력의 향상을 위해 주파수 대역이 높아지면서 안테나로부터 방사되는 전자파가 기기 내부의 회로에 영향을 주어, 전체적으로 기기의 성능을 악화시키는 EMI(Electro Magnetic Interference) 문제가 빈번히 발생하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 기기의 안테나로부터 인접한 내부 전송선로에 전달되는 노이즈 전력을 예측하기 위한 방법론을 제시한다. 전송선로에 전달되는 노이즈 전력은 기본적으로 안테나 내부 임피던스와 전송선로의 부하 임피던스에 따라 달라지지만, 그 변화의 폭이 크지 않아서 안테나와 전송선로 사이의 S-parameter 제곱의 형태로 전달되는 전력 이득의 크기로 나타낼 수 있음을 보였으며, 이렇게 정의된 전력 전달 인덱스(index)를 이용하여 전송선의 기하학적 형태에 따라서 달라지는 노이즈 전력을 표현하였다. 그 결과, 안테나의 위치의 변화에 따라서 전달되는 노이즈 전력에는 많은 차이가 났으며, 특히 굽은 전송선로에서 많은 노이즈 전달이 발생함을 알 수 있었다. 또, 이와 같은 실험적인 결과가 EM 시뮬레이션을 이용한 결과와 잘 일치하였고, 근거리, 원거리장에서의 전기장 분포를 고려할 때 그 결과들이 물리적으로 유의함을 보였다. 본 논문에서 사용한 EM 시뮬레이터는 Ansys HFSS이며, FPCB에서 많이 사용하는 Ground가 있는 CPW(Coplanar Waveguide) 형태의 전송선로를 사용하였다.

용접흄 충 금속함량 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Content Variation of Metals in Welding Fumes)

  • Concentration of welding fumes and their components is known to be hazardous to welder and adjacent worker. To determine the generation rates of metals in fumes, $CO_2$ flux cored arc welding on stainless steel was performed in well designed fume collection chamber. Variables were different products of flux cored wire(2 domestic products and 4 foreign products) and input energy(low-, optimal- , high input energy). Mass of welding fumes was determined by gravimetric method(NIOSH 0500 method), and 17 metals were analysed by inductively coupled plasm-atomic emission spectroscopy(NIOSH 7300 method). Flux cored wire tube and flux were analysed by scanning electron microscopy to determine their metal composition. 17 metals were classified by their generation rates. Generation rates of iron, manganese, potassium and sodium were all above 50mg/min at optimal input energy level. Generation rates of chromium and amorphous silica were 25~50mg/min. At 1~25mg/min level, nickel, titanium, molybdenum, and aluminum were included. Copper, zinc, calcium, lead, magnesium, lithium, and cobalt were generated below 1 mg/min. Generation rates of metal components in fumes were influenced by input energy, types of flux cored wire. Flux cored wire was consisted of outer shell tube and inner flux. Iron, chromium, and nickel were the major components of outer tube. Flux contained iron, chromium, nickel, potassium, sodium, silica, and manganese. The use of flux cored wire can increase the hazards by increasing the amounts of fumes formed relative to that of solid wire. The reason might be the direct transfer of elements from the flux, since the flux is fine power. Ratio of metals to the fume of flux cored wire was lower than that of solid wire because non-metal components of flux were transferred. Total metal content of fumes in flux cored arc welding was 47.4(24.3~57.2) percent that is much lower than that of solid wire, 75.9 percent. We found that generation rates of iron, manganese, chromium and nickel, all well known to cause work related disease to welder, increased more rapidly with increasing input energy than those of fumes. To reduce worker exposure to fumes and hazardous component at source, further research is needed to develop new welding filler materials that decrease both the amount of fumes and hazardous components.

Correlation of Breast Cancer Incidence with the Number of Motor Vehicles and Consumption of Gasoline in Korea

  • While several reproductive and lifestyle-related factors are already well-known as established risk factors for breast cancer, environmental factors have attracted attention only recently. The objective of the current study was to assess the association between the breast cancer incidences in females, the mortality rate and the number of motor vehicles on the one side and the consumption of gasoline which could work as a major source of air pollution at the other side. The breast cancer incidences and the mortality trends were compared with various indices of westernization like dietary patterns or industrialization with 10 years lag of time. Geographical variations with 10, 15 and 20 years lag of time were assessed between the breast cancer incidence in 2010 and the number of motor vehicles as well as the consumption of gasoline. The upward trend of motor vehicle numbers proved to be comparable to those of breast cancer incidence and mortality. However, the consumption of gasoline started to decrease since the mid-1990s. The geographic distribution of motor vehicle numbers and gasoline consumption in 1990 is in a positive correlation with the breast cancer incidence rates in 2010 and the 20-year lag time ($R^2$ 0.379 with the number of motor vehicles and 0.345 with consumption of gasoline). In a linear relationship between the breast cancer incidences in 2010 and the log transformed number of motor vehicles, the log transformed consumption of gasoline in 2000 also showed a positive relationship ($R^2$ 0.367 with the number of motor vehicles and 0.329 with consumption of gasoline). The results of the current study indicate that there may be a positive relation between the number of vehicles, gasoline consumption and the incidence of breast cancer from the aspects of long-term trends and geographical variation.

지자체간 협조를 통한 하천수질관리 비용절감 방안: 영산강을 대상으로 (Cost Reduction Measure for River Water Quality Management by Cooperation between Local Governments:a Case of the Youngsan River)

  • 현행 수질오염총량관리제는 원인자부담원칙를 기본으로 설정된 단위유역별 지자체별 할당부하량을 해당 지자체가 개별적으로 대처하도록 하고 있다. 그러나 하천으로 유입되는 수질오염물은 공기오염물과 달리 상류에서 하류로 일방적으로 흐르고, 하나의 하천에 다수의 지자체가 연관이 되어 있으며, 일반적인 하수처리시설은 '규모의 경제'를 따르는 시설물임을 감안한다면 지자체간 협조를 통해 수질관리비용을 절감할 수 있다. 본 연구는 유역 전체의 관점에서 비용효과를 가질 수 있도록 삭감량을 재배분함으로써 수질관리비용을 절감하는 방법을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 영산강 유역을 대상으로 현재 단위유역별 지자체별로 할당된 계획삭감량을 총량의 증감없이 오염원이 집중된 지역으로 재배분하여 발생하는 수질개선 효과와 비용절감 효과를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 기존 계획에 의한 영산강 유역 전체의 비용은 787,575.0 백만원이며, 시나리오-1과 2는 각각 123,671.8 백만원, 171,433.5 백만원의 비용이 절감되었다. 본 연구는 오염총량관리제를 준수하기 위한 지자체의 수질관리 비용을 절감하는 방안으로서 사례가 될 것으로 기대된다.

이중 채널 유리코일 샘플러를 이용한 대기 중 포름알데하이드 측정 (Measurement of Formaldehyde in the Atmosphere using a Dual-channel Glass Coil Sampler)

  • A dual-channel glass coil sampling technique was used to measure hourly formaldehyde concentration in the ambient air. The dual-channel coil sampling assembly consists of three parts; an all-pyrex 28-turn coil made of 0.2-cm internal diameter glass tubing for gas-liquid contact and scrubbing of soluble gases, an inlet section upstream of the coil for introducing sample air and scrubbing solution, and a widened glass section downstream of the coil for gas-liquid separation. The scrubbing solution used was a dilute aqueous DNPH (dinitrophenylhydrazine) solution. Hourly concentration of formaldehyde was determined at a Gwangju semi-urban site during two intensive studies between September and October using the dual channel glass-coil/DNPH sampling technique and HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) analysis. The mean concentration was 1.7($0.4{\sim}4.7$) and 3.0($0.5{\sim}19.1$) ppbv for the September and October intensives, respectively, which are considerably low, compared to those measured in polluted urban areas around the world including several urban areas of Korea. The diurnal variation showed significant increase of formaldehyde in the daytime suggesting the dominance of formation of formaldehyde due to photochemical oxidation of methane and other hydrocarbons. An increase in the formaldehyde sometimes in the night might be due to an increase in primary source, i.e. traffic emissions. It was also found that rapid increase in formaldehyde levels from 3.0 to 19.1 ppbv in the afternoon on October 20 was due to plumes from burning of agricultural wastes such as rice straw and stubble. It is expected from the measurement data that the constructed dual-channel glass coil sampling system can be utilized for measuring atmospheric concentration of the formaldehyde with high time resolution.

열응답시험 데이터를 이용한 SCW형 지중열교환기 블리딩 효과 분석 (An Analysis on the Bleeding Effect of SCW Ground Heat Exchanger using Thermal Response Test Data)

  • 개방형 지중열교환기(SCW)는 수직 밀페형 지중열교환기에 비해 높은 용량과 효율을 갖고 있어 최근에 우리나라에서 많이 보급되고 있는 추세이다. SCW형 지중열교환기의 여러 설계 및 운전변수 중 블리딩 운전이 지중 열전도율, 보어홀 열저항 등 열성능 개선에 가장 효과가 큰 것으로 보고되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 SCW형 지중열교환기가 설치된 현장의 열응답시험 결과를 기반으로 블리딩해석 모델을 정립하고 블리딩율 및 지하수 유입수의 위치변화가 SCW형 지중열교환기 열성능에 미치는 영향을 수치해석을 통하여 고찰하였다. 해석결과 지하수가 지중열교환기 상부에서 유입될 경우 지중열교환기 순환수의 시간에 따른 온도증가는 블리딩율이 증가함에 따라 낮아지는 경향을 보였으며, 지중 열전도율은 30% 블리딩율에서 179% 증가하는 결과를 보였다. 반면에 지하수가 지중열교환기 하부에서 유입될 경우 지중열교환기 순환수는 지중과 먼저 열교환을 한 후 유입수와 하단에서 혼합되기 때문에 지중열교환기 순환수의 온도증가는 상부 유입의 경우보다 적으며 블리딩율이 약 10%를 초과하면 일정하게 유지되는 경향을 보였다.

Nutritive Evaluation of Some Fodder Tree Species during the Dry Season in Central Sudan

  • The potential nutritive value was studied on leaves of seven fodder trees in Central Sudan during dry season at two distinct periods, the early dry and the late. The chemical composition, mineral concentration, in vitro organic matter digestibility (IVOMD), in situ OM or nitrogen degradability and estimated metabolizable energy showed a wide variation among fodder tree species and between different periods of the dry season. Crude protein (CP) ranged from 285 to 197 g/kg DM at early dry season, with a significant reduction in late dry season. Ziziphus spina-christi and Balanites aegyptiaca showed the least reduction in CP content. The NDF, ADF and lignin were about 200, 160 and 19 g/kg DM, respectively at the early period, and significantly increased at the late period of the dry season, except for lignin of Z. spina-christi. For mineral concentration, all fodder tree leaves were rich in calcium but poor in phosphorus. In situ OM degradability significantly decreased at the late period of dry season, but values remained as high as over 600 g/kg OM. At both periods, Z. spina-christi showed the highest value, while the lowest was recorded in Acacia seyal. The IVOMD showed a similar trend to those of in situ OM degradability, except for A. seyal. The nitrogen degradability was highest in B. aegyptiaca and lowest in Z. spina-christi at both periods. A significant and positive correlation had existed between CP and IVOMD or in situ OM degradability (r=0.68, p<0.05; r=0.77, p<0.05, respectively). Also, a significant but negative correlation was found between condensed tannins and nitrogen degradability (r=-0.87, p<0.01). Results demonstrated that Z. spina-christi potentially has a good nutritive value as dry season feed or supplement, while A. seyal tends to be less promising. A. nubica and B. aegyptiaca may be a useful source for degradable protein, even though it may have a limited supply of energy to animals. A. tortilis, A. mellifera and A. ehrenbergiana may have potential value for a supplementation of energy or protein, if they were harvested in the early dry season or in wet season as preserved feed. It is highly recommended to supplement with an appropriate amount of phosphorus when these fodder trees were used.

주파수 종속 다중경로 페이딩이 비코히어런트 수중통신시스템에 미치는 영향 (Effect of frequency dependent multipath fading on non-coherent underwater communication system)

  • 수중음향 채널은 다양한 경로들이 상호 간섭하여 주파수에 따른 보강 또는 상쇄 간섭을 보이는 다중경로 페이딩 채널로 정의된다. 따라서 수신신호의 신호 대 잡음비는 주파수에 따라 변화한다. 아울러 해면변동은 해면 반사경로의 코히어런트 성분의 주파수에 따른 시변 페이딩을 야기한다. 주파수 편이 키잉 시스템은 이러한 간섭과 페이딩에 덜 민감하여 강인한 시스템으로 알려져 있으며 전송률을 높이기 위해 다진 주파수 편이 키잉 시스템으로 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 4 채널 4진 주파수 편이 키잉 시스템의 비트오류율을 천해 다중경로 채널에서 실험하였다. 실험결과 주파수 종속 시변 수중 음향 다중경로 페이딩은 연집오류를 발생시키는 특성을 보여 리드 솔로몬 코드가 4진 주파수 편이 키잉 시스템의 비트오류율을 효과적으로 경감시키는지를 보였다. 따라서 데이터 전송율 혹은 송수신기 거리에 따른 비트 오류율은 채널의 대역폭뿐만 아니라 주파수 종속 다중 경로 페이딩에 좌우됨을 보인다.
