  • The object of this study is to develop the model that solves the numerically difficult problems in hydraulic engineering and to demonstrate the applicability of this model by means of various test examples, such as, verification in the gradually varied unsteady condition, three steady flow problems with the change of bottom slope with exact solution, and frictional bed with analytical solution. The governing equation of this model is the integral form of the Saint-Venant equation satisfying the conservation laws, and finite volume method with the Riemann solver is used. The evaluation of the mass and momentum flux with the HLL Riemann approximate solver is executed. MUSCL-Hancock scheme is used to achieve the second order accuracy in space and time. This study introduce the new and simple technique to discretize the source terms of gravity and hydrostatic pressure force due to longitudinal width variation for the balance of quantity between nonlinear flux and source terms. The results show that the developed model's implementation is accurate, robust and highly stable in various flow conditions with source terms, and this model is reliable for one-dimensional applications in hydraulic engineering.

  • The spherical lens is typically classified by the refractive power into two groups such as (+) diopter lens and (-) diopter lens. The deformation occurred by the external force that is applied to a lens is caused by the increase or the decrease in the diopter of a lens. In this paper, the deformation of the lens was quantitatively measured by using ESPI (Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) which have been used in the optical measurement field for past few years. ESPI has an advantage that the deformation of an object can be measured precisely by using coherence of the light. The experiment was carried out to the totally 16 types of plastic lens. It was confirmed that the deformation was decreased by increasing the diopter of the lens when same displacement was applied to the lens in case of (+) diopter lens and was increased by decreasing the diopter of the lens in case of (-) diopter lens. Also, it was found that the deformation of (+) diopter lens is less than that of (-) diopter lens. Therefore, with these results, it is expected that the possibility of the quantitative measurement for variation of the optical defect caused by the deformation of a lens when the deformation is occurred to the various types of the lens can be presented and that the application in the lens industrial field can be performed.

  • Thermal conditions in practice at the traditional bronze workshop of the Korean Folk Village in Yongin were examined along with the microstructures of some high tin bronze objects made there. Laboratory experiments approximating the conditions of the workshop were also carried out and the results were compared. The operating temperature of the workshop furnace was measured to range from $750^{\circ}C$ to $850^{\circ}C$ while the surface temperature of an object, upon its removal from the furnace for additional thermo-mechanical treatments, was generally in the range of $600^{\circ}C$ to $685^{\circ}C$. This variation in working temperatures was reflected in varying microstructures developed upon quenching. The products of the Folk Village were found to consist of microstructures where the ${\alpha}$ grains of the Cu-Sn system were distributed in the background of different phases including the ${\beta}$-martensite phase, retained ${\gamma}$ phase, ${\alpha}+{\delta}$ eutectoid or their mixtures. This variability, which is also identified in objects made in ancient times as well as in our laboratory experiments, suggests that the actual thermal conditions given during the quenching treatments are much more complicated than is inferred from the temperature measurements. This paper will present detailed accounts of the thermo-mechanical treatments as observed in the high tin bronze workshop of the Korean Folk Village and discuss the evolution of varying microstructures in terms of the substantial variability involved in the implementation of the traditional forged high tin bronze technology of Korea.

  • OLAFOAM is the powerful CFD code and is an expanded version of $OpenFOAM^{(R)}$, for wave mechanics simulation. The $OpenFOAM^{(R)}$ does provide many solvers to correspond to each object of the numerical calculation in a variety of fields. OLAFOAM's governing equation bases on VARANS (Volume-Averaged Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes) equation, and the finite volume method is applied to numerical techniques. The program is coded in C++ and run on the Linux operating system. First of all, in this study, OLAFOAM was validated for 1) wave transformation inside porous structure under bore and regular wave conditions, 2) wave transformation by submerged breakwater under regular wave condition, and 3) regular wave transformation and resultant vertical velocity distribution under current by comparison with existing laboratory measurements. Hereafter, this study, which is almost no examination carried out until now, analyzed closely variation characteristics of water surface level, wave height, frequency spectrum, breaking waves, averaged velocity and turbulent kinetic energy around porous submerged breakwater in the wave and current coexisting field for the case of permeable or impermeable rear beach. It was revealed that the wave height fluctuation according to current direction(following or opposing) was closely related to the turbulent kinetic energy, and others.

  • 3D laser scanners are an effective way to quickly acquire a large amount of data about an object. Recently, it is used in various fields such as surveying, displacement measurement, 3D data generation of objects, construction of indoor spatial information, and BIM(Building Information Model). In order to utilize the point cloud data acquired through the 3D laser scanner, it is necessary to make the data acquired from many stations through a matching process into one data with a unified coordinate system. However, analytical researches on the accuracy of point cloud data according to the registration method are insufficient. In this study, we tried to analyze the accuracy of registration method of point cloud data acquired through 3D laser scanner. The point cloud data of the study area was acquired by 3D laser scanner, the point cloud data was registered by the ICP(Iterative Closest Point) method and the shape registration method through the data processing, and the accuracy was analyzed by comparing with the total station survey results. As a result of the accuracy evaluation, the ICP and the shape registration method showed 0.002m~0.005m and 0.002m~0.009m difference with the total station performance, respectively, and each registration method showed a deviation of less than 0.01m. Each registration method showed less than 0.01m of variation in the experimental results, which satisfies the 1: 1,000 digital accuracy and it is suggested that the registration of point cloud data using ICP and shape matching can be utilized for constructing spatial information. In the future, matching of point cloud data by shape registration method will contribute to productivity improvement by reducing target installation in the process of building spatial information using 3D laser scanner.

  • This study relates to a microemulsion gel which is applied in various cosmetic preparations because of good appearance, superior stability and a thin, uniform, non-greasy fi Am on the skin. Main object of this study is to elucidate the influence of polyol(clarifying agent and/or coupling agent in microemulsion) on microemulsion and to establish the optimum conditions for microemulsion gel formation in the view of superior consistency, stability, clarity and pick-up from a container. The constituents of the system are composed of water, polar ester oi1, nonionic surfactant and polyol. Using the three-component phase diagram and the tetrahedral-phase diagram, we have investigated the changes of transparence regions, consistency and resonance effect by an impact in microemulsion gel varying in polyol ratio. The results of this study showed that the variation in the content of water and couple ins agent has major influence on the microemulsion gel and the optimum formation region of microemulsion gel is the widest when the ratio of glycerine(coupling agent) to water is 63-75% It is believed that optimum use of polyol seems to be helpful to obtain the microemulsion gel containing maximum amount of oil phase with minimum amount of surfactant which is recently one of the major problems of cosmetic chemists.

  • Rumors are widely prevalent in marketplace and It can be problematic and dangerous for the company's reputation and damages their image. Recently, many companies are given trouble by rumors. As getting invigorates the social media, there is high possibility to shape the vicious rumors without any confirmation whether information is true or not. It affects the companies' reputation and trust they have built for long time, also sales drop off. Despite numerous denials, the rumor persisted, keeping occur again and again all the times. Refutation purposes to decrease levels of belief in a rumor. First, establish Study 1 that a variation in identification influences the impact of a rumor on individuals' beliefs. Furthermore, we analyze the effectiveness of a refutation under varying degree of one's level of identification with the rumor object. According to research result, the response pattern of identification and disidentificaion consumers are very different. Disidentifiers, who engaged in systematic processing, believed the rumor less only when the refutation contained strong arguments. Identifiers, processing heuristically, remained unbelieving in the rumor. Study found that identification is an important moderator of consumer response to negative rumors. These defensive processes alleviate the bad influence of that information, and also can reduce the likelihood of attitude degradation.

  • Conventional electromagnetic (EM) method using small loops as a source and receiver has been used in detection of conductive buried objects like a metal detector or in qualitative estimation of the subsurface conductivity variation. Recently, however, since detection of buried objects and imaging of the subsurface conductivity distribution in a relatively conductive area are in a high demand for environmental and engineering purposes, the quantitative interpretation technique of EM data is actively studied. In this regard, we introduce a brief principle of EM survey and show an example of the detection of buried conductive material and imaging of the subsurface conductivity distribution based on data measured at a test survey area. Through this study, we show that multi-frequency EM surveys using small loops may be a good solution to give quick and detail information of subsurface in a conductive survey area.

  • In this paper, the interesting moving objects tracking algorithm using color information on Multi-Video camera is proposed Moving objects are detected by using difference image method and integral projection method to background image and objects image only with hue area, after converting RGB color coordination of image which is input from multi-video camera into HSI color coordination. Hue information of the detected moving area are normalized by 24 steps from 0$^{\circ}$ to 360$^{\circ}$ It is used for the feature parameters of the moving objects that three normalization levels with the highest distribution and distance among three normalization levels after obtaining a hue distribution chart of the normalized moving objects. Moving objects identity among four cameras is distinguished with distribution of three normalization levels and distance among three normalization levels, and then the moving objects are tracked and surveilled. To examine propriety of the proposed method, four cameras are set up indoor difference places, humans are targeted for moving objects. As surveillance results of the interesting human, hue distribution chart variation of the detected Interesting human at each camera in under 10%, and it is confirmed that the interesting human is tracked and surveilled by using feature parameters at four cameras, automatically.
