Enuresis nocturia is more prevalent in children than in adults. Using polysomnography (PSG), we investigated the causes of adult enuresis nocturia in a 20-year-old female patient with nighttime bedwetting. In spite of normal urological examinations, her detailed medical history disclosed frequent sleep paralysis and urination during dreams. During PSG, two electromyograms were attached to her anus to assess the tone of her bladder's sphincter while she slept. During REM sleep, the EMG tone of the mandible decreased, but the anal and bladder sphincter tones did not. The polysomnogram revealed moderate obstructive sleep apnea. Consequently, she was diagnosed with adult parasomnia (nocturnal enuresis) overlap syndrome with OSA. This study demonstrates the value of PSG with simultaneous anal tone EMG for diagnosing NREM parasomnia and nocturnal enuresis.
In order to obtain excellent spatial resolution in the PET detector, when the detector module is designed using very small scintillation pixels, overlap occurs at the edges and corners of the scintillation pixel array in the flood image. By using a light guide, the occurrence of overlap can be reduced. In this study, after using a scintillator of 0.8 mm × 0.8 mm × 20 mm to form a 14 × 14 array, 3 mm × 3 mm SiPM pixels are combined with 4 × 4 photosensor to reduce the occurrence of overlap. The optimal thickness of the light guide used for this purpose was derived. Quantitative evaluation was performed based on scintillation pixel images of edges and corners where overlap occurs mainly in the acquired flood image. Quantitative evaluation was calculated through the interval and full width at half maximum between scintillation pixel images, and when a light guide with a thickness of 2 mm was used, the best image was obtained with a k value of 2.60. In addition, as a result of measuring the energy resolution through the energy spectrum, the light guide with a thickness of 2 mm showed the best result at 28.5%. If a 2 mm light guide is used, it is considered that the best flood image and energy resolution with minimal overlap can be obtained.
Narrow-band interference (NBI) from the coexisting narrow-band services affects the performance of ultra wideband (UWB) systems considerably due to the high power of these narrow-band signals with respect to the UWB signals. Specifically, IEEE 802.11a systems which operate around 5 GHz and overlap the band of UWB signals may interfere with UWB systems significantly. In this paper, we suggest a novel NBI suppression technique based on singular value decomposition (SVD) algorithm in time hopping UWB (TH-UWB) systems. SVD is used to approximate the interference which then is subtracted from the received signals. The algorithm precision and closed-form bit error rate (BER) expression are derived in the wireless multipath channel. Comparing with the conventional suppression methods such as a notch filter and a RAKE receiver, the proposed method is simple and robust and especially suitable for UWB systems.
Camouflage is evaluated by scientific principle in the fields of biology, military science, and art. It has a strong influence on contemporary fashion and means exposure with concealment. This study analyzed the visual characteristics of camouflage patterns in fashion design through documentaries and fashion photos. The fashion design results areas follow. The simple blending of a disruptive motif indicated an inaccurate repetition of a disruptive motif, the discontinuous or continuous connection of disruptive motif, the irregular repetition of a disruptive animal silhouette, the collage of a different disruptive motif, the craft of a disruptive motif and the intensive color match of a disruptive motif. It represented the maximization of complication, fantastic and fanciness. The overlap of a disruptive motif showed the overlap of disruptive print patterns with transparency and an overlap of different fabrics with a disruptive pattern. It represented spatial relationships of three dimensions as well as the maximization of visual illusion and the reinforcement of attractiveness. The blurring of a disruptive motif showed the pointage of disruptive motif, the pointage of image, value gradation, the whole blurring of a disruptive pattern cluster and stained appearance. It represented the obscurity of motif form, the uncertainty of object and double meaning. The trompe l'oeil of a partial background object showed the realistic and the painterly imitation of color and texture for partial objects through a close-up. It represented amazement and pleasure by illusion, scarcity and the decoration of surface and synecdochical remind. In conclusion, camouflage in fashion was weakened and modified from a classical military context by a unique expression of various motifs.
This study was carried out to investigate the wearing silhouette of jackets according to the mechanical properties, primary hand value and total hand value of the 3 types of wool fabrics. Wool/PET(50/50), wool/PET(80/50) and wool(100%) fabrics were used as test specimens. Mechanical properties of specimens were measured by KES-FB system and primary hand value and total hand value were calculated by equation KN-203-LDY. We made three experimental jackets based on the precious jacket pattern and used Moir Photography to measure the amounts of space between the jacket clothes and body surface from the overlap cross section map. The results were as follows: 1) In mechanical properties, woo/PET(80/20) fabric showed higher bending and shear rigidity. 2) In evaluation of primary hand and total hand, wool 100% fabric showed higher NUMERI and FUKURAMI hand and total hand value. 3) From the reset of Moir Photography, the wearing shapes of the experimental jackets were influenced by the characteristics of fabrics. Except for the hip part, the garment ease of wool/PET(80/20) fabric was estimated more highly.

This paper presents a comparative analysis on three different types of performance indices of obstacle detection for an overlapped ultrasonic sensor ring. Due to beam overlap, the entire sensing zone of each ultrasonic sensor can be divided into three smaller sensing subzones, which leads to significant reduction of positional uncertainty in obstacle detection. First, the positional uncertainty in obstacle detection is expressed in terms of the area of a sensing subzone, and type 1 performance index is then defined as the area ratio of side and center sensing subzones. Second, based on the area of a sensing subzone, type 2 performance index is defined taking into account the size of the entire range of obstacle detection as well as the degree of the positional uncertainty in obstacle detection. Third, the positional uncertainty in obstacle detection is now expressed in terms of the length of the uncertainty arc spanning a sensing subzone, and type 3 performance index is then defined as the average value of the uncertainty arc lengths over the entire range of obstacle detection. Fourth, using a commercial low directivity ultrasonic sensor, the changes of three different performance indices depending on the parameter of an overlapped ultrasonic sensor ring are examined and compared.
This study aimed to re-establish the conservation area reflecting landscape ecological value through scenario program, targeting Odaesan National Park. The basic data were mapped in watershed planning units, which were set considering topographical and ecological values. The framework of Marxan with Zones, using an indexation process, was using the mapped indicators. Each best solution according to the scenarios was assessed through sensitivity analysis, and a final solution was selected among the best solutions, considering criteria including area ratio of conservation area and grouping. Lastly, the final solution was verified in the overlap analysis with recent zonation. As a result, through the framework of Marxan with Zones, the best solution of scenario 1, which was set by the highest conservation criteria was selected as the final solution, and the area ratio of conservation area and grouping was excellent. As for the overlap analysis, the suggested conservation area was improved compared to recent zonation in terms of the area ratio (39.4%), biotope grade I (35.6%) and the distribution points (7 places) of legally protected species.
We carried out the useful theoretical calculation for the optimum design of a 1.48 ${\mu}m$ diode laser pumped E$r^{3+}$ doped fiber amplifier. The model we established is based on the rate equations of three level laser system and the overlap integral between fundamental mode L$P_{01}$ and E$r^{3+}$ doped area. We determined several fiber parameters (N.A., V value, fiber length, E$r^{3+}$ concentration, cutoff wavelength etc.) for the optimum design of a high optical gain. We found that our theoretical results are very useful to the design of E$r^{3+}$ doped fiber used in EDFA.
Internet telephony service is very cheap and very easy to introduce the value-added service than the POTS, but is difficult to the QoS of telephone service. The existing Internet typically offers 'best effort' services only, which do not make any commitment about delay, packet loss and jitter. This paper compensates the low quality of the speech for packet loss or delay using SOLA algorithm in Internet phone. SOLA algorithm is a popular technique for Time Scale Modification of speech and audio signal. In the proposed algorithm, the receiver expands the received packet under resonable threshold, and hence compensates the QoS of speech. From the simulation, this algorithm can conceals packet loss considerably, and is also improved the quality of the speech.
Purpose: External tibia torsion and proximal tibial vara have been reported in severe varus deformed osteoarthritis, which is a tibio-femoral angle of more than 20°. The radiology measurements were compared with those of control group and the preoperative and follow-up radiology and clinical results were examined. Materials and Methods: From January 2007 to March 2016, 43 knees from 37 persons, who underwent total knee arthroplasty for a severe varus deformity of more than 20° on the tibio-femoral angle on the standing radiographs and had a follow-up period more than two years, were examined. The mean follow-up period was 45.7 months. The control group, who underwent conservative treatments, had Kellgren-Lawrence grade three osteoarthritis and a tibio-femoral angle of less than 3° varus. The external tibial torsion of enrolled patients and control group were estimated using the proximal tibio-fibular overlap length and the tibial torsion values on computed tomography. The proximal tibia vara was measured using the proximal tibial tilt angle. The preoperative and postoperative proximal tibio-fibular overlap length, tibial torsion value, proximal tibial tilt angle, and hospital for special surgery (HSS) score were evaluated. Results: The mean proximal tibio-fibular overlap length was 18.6 mm preoperatively and 11.2 mm (p=0.031) at the follow-up. The control group had a mean proximal tibio-fibular overlap length of 8.7 mm (p=0.024). The mean tibial torsion value was 13.8° preoperatively and 14.0° (p=0.489) at the follow-up. The control group had a mean tibial torsion value of 21.9° (p=0.012). The mean proximal tibial tilt angle was 12.2° preoperatively and 0° (p<0.01) at the follow-up. The control group had a mean proximal tilt angle of 1.2° (p<0.01). The preoperative tibiofemoral angle and mechanical axis deviation were corrected from preoperative 28.3° and medial 68.4 mm to postoperative 0.7° and medial 3.5 mm (p<0.01, p<0.01), respectively. The HSS scores increased from 34 points of preoperatively to 87 points at the last follow-up (p=0.028). Conclusion: Patients with advanced osteoarthritis with a severe varus deformity of more than 20° had significant increases in the external tibial torsion and varus of the proximal tibia. The tibial torsion value before and after surgery in the enrolled patients was not changed statistically, but good clinical results without complications were obtained.
