Synthesis of $Fe_4N$ Powder and Its Magnetic Properties for Magnetic Recording (자기기록용 $Fe_4N$ 분말의 합성 및 자기특성)

  • For determination the optimum manufacturing condition Fe4N powder for magnetic recording media, we have studied the following important conditions : the effect of particle size of metal powder on the nitridation, the condition of nitridation on the formation and magnetic properties of Fe4N, and stability of Fe4N powder against temperature and change on standing. The results can be summarized as : 1) Single phase Fe4N is formed at 50v/o of ammonia concentration during the nitridation reaction, 2) Single phase Fe4N is formed above 40$0^{\circ}C$, 15min regardless of the metal powder sizes, 3) Coercivity and saturation magnetization of Fe4N powder almost constant value until 20 day-passing from preparation date.

  • The accumulation of space charge in PE/PE/PE laminates was investigated using the low density polyethylenes having different melt indices from 0.25 to 45 g/10 min. Both heterocharge and homocharge accumulated in parent polyethylenes depend on the value of melt index. A general rule found in this study was that the heterocharge decreases as the melt index increases and finally the homocharge accumulates when the melt index is very high. Because of this reason, PE laminates showed different charge formation characteristics depending on melt index of polyethylene. Details of up to date results are described in the text.

  • While transgenic manipulation in mice have been very successful the same is not true for cattle and pigs. The inability to isolate ES cells from the bovine and porcine has precluded the utilization of the gene targeting technology in these species. Fortunately new advances in cloning by nuclear transfer have opened up a unique opportunity to undertake precise genetic modification in cattle and pigs. The ability of a number of different laboratory groups to successfully clone cattle is due to numerous research programs focused on nuclear transfer in cattle, and the enormous base of knowledge developed over the last 20 years involving the application of assisted reproductive techniques in cattle. Successful and repeatable procedures for in vitro oocyte maturation, in vitro fertilization, and in vitro embryo culture are now well established for cattle. In our laboratory we have utilized nuclear transfer to reproduce the genotypes of several animals, selected for cloning based on their inherent genetic value. Results that we have obtained to date are similar to those reported by other laboratories. (omitted)

Effects of Centric Relation Splint Therapy on the Occlusal Contact State in Craniomandibular Disorders (교합안정장치 치료가 교합접촉상태에 끼치는 효과)

  • Many types of occlusal splints are used for treatment of craniomandibular disorders. Most widely used splint among them is flat-type centric relation splint. Insertion of splint into the mouth may cause increasing of vertical dimension, masticatory muscle realignment and rearrangement of maxillo-mandibular relationship, so as a result of splint treatment, occlusal relation may vary whether you like it or not. From this point of view, occlusal state of patient shold be frequently monitored to prevent undesired or harmful effect during occlusal splint therapy. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of occlusal splint, especially centric relation splint, on the occlusal contact state after 3 months treatment. 32 patients with craniomandibular disorders who had unilateral symptoms participated in this study. To observe and record occlusal contact state, the author used T-Scan system (Tekscan Co. U.S.A.) at both pretreatment and posttreatment. The recorded date were analyzed with regard to contact number, contact force and contact time, change of anterior tooth contact and coincidence of first contact point with affected side were observed, too. Aan last, the subjects were divided into 2 groups and compared, according to average value of VAS index, with respect to joint pain, sound and limitation of movement, respectively. The collected date were statistically processed with SPSS and the result as follows : 1. Total occlusal contact number and force were not changed by occlusal splint therapy but total occlusal contact time decreased slightly. 2. There was a tendency of increasing number of subjects with anterior tooth contact after treatment and change of first contact point side were observed in as many as 40.6% of subjects. 3. There were no difference between higher and lower group of VAS index, and between pretreatment and posttreatment in each group, either.

  • This study aimed to analyze the process of courtship form having date and marriage toward women who had job before marriage. The objects were 27.36 years old and had 9.59 months marital life at average. This study conducted structured questionnaires using the reflection of spouse selection procedure. By using collected data through questionnaires, it conducted descriptive statistics, cluster analysis and t-test. The type of marriage would be divided into the emotional marriage group and the implemental marriage group The emotional marriage group had longer dating time and more satisfaction of spouse selection than the implemental group. On value variable, the emotional marriage group had more subjective selection standard and more expectation social and emotional benefit than the latter group. On search variable, the emotional marriage group estimated the relation stability and satisfied the relation with spouse more than the implemental marriage group and expected the less possibility to meet new partner.

A study on the correlation between vaginal conductivity and estrus in Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) cows

  • Background: Estrus in cows can be detected through vaginal electrical resistance or conductivity. However, there are no studies measuring vaginal electrical resistance in Hanwoo cows. This study aims to measure the vaginal electrical resistance value in Hanwoo cows and compare it with estrus and ovulation. Methods: Vaginal electrical resistance values of 73 Hanwoo cows were measured before and after estrus at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Livestock Research Institute. Measurements were taken on days -6, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, and 6 of artificial insemination. Large follicles and ovulation were confirmed using transvaginal ultrasonography. Results: The vaginal electrical resistance averaged 225.6 ± 6.3 Ω days before the artificial insemination date, decreasing until the day of artificial insemination. The average vaginal electrical resistance was 163.7 ± 4.6 Ω on the date of artificial insemination, and 188.8 ± 4.3 Ω one day after artificial insemination, when large follicles were observed. In addition, on the 6th day after artificial insemination, the vaginal electrical resistance averaged 231.4 ± 5.5, which was similar to the 6th day before artificial insemination (222.5 ± 6.3). Transvaginal ultrasonography showed that most of the cows ovulated one day after artificial insemination. Conclusions: The accuracy of estrus is high if the vaginal electrical resistance is measured for cows with confirmed estrus, making is a potentially useful for determining the timing of artificial insemination.

  • Road traffic noise level and railway noise level are important factors on apartment inhabitant's comforts. The measurement methods which noted by Ministry of Construction & Transportation(MOCT) and Ministry of Environment(ME) are used for measurement of exterior noise at apartment houses. But these methods are out of date because the height of apartment houses have increased dramatically and owing to the sampling methods of the measurement time interval, rating values are induced differently due to sampling methods. In this study, the sound level of each floor of apartment houses is measured and compared. And rating value due to sampling methods are compared. As a result, the KS outline of 'Field Measurement of Exterior Noise at Apartment Housess' is suggested.

  • In this study, we will try to develop the 3D automatic design program of limit gauge. When users, who have some mechanical information, input some date, they can do 3D-modeling easily like expert. This is one of the merit in automatic design program and the automatic design program can compare the limit gauge made in this study with processed the bolt and nut model. This demonstrates the effective value of automatic design model. Limits gauge of sort divide into ring gauge of measuring bolt and pin gauge of measuring nut. The new automatic design program follows the KS.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the transplanting time, optimum fertilization and harvesting method, chemical contents and physical properties of burley tobacco in paddy field. The results obtained as follows. 1. It is recommendable to transplant after March. 29 to escape the frost injury. By reducing compound fertilizer and whole plant stalk curing, advanced the. last priming date by 5-8 days. 2. Total alkaloid, total nitrogen and phosphorus contents of cured leaf was comparable to those of upland-produce(1 tobacco, but potassium and chloride contents some what high. 3. Filling power and combustibility was also comparable to upland, and filling power was increased by reducing fertilizer and whole plant stalk curing. 4. In the 20o reducing fertilizer-5 Primings volt. the yield was some what decreased, but visual quality and value per 10a were high. 5. The total raw income of tobacco and rice cropping was increased 124~170% than that of rice cropping.

Stratification related to Heat Flux in Deukryang Bay during Summer (여름철 득량만의 열속과 관련한 성층)

  • In order to see the stratification related to the heat flux In Deukryang Bay, the oceanographic data on July 12, 1994 and the meteorological data of Kohung and Kwangju meteorological stations were analysed. The temperature durerences between the sea surface and the near bottom were 1~3 ton spring tide (July 12, 1994) In Deukryang Bay. The temperature anomalies were high about 3t during summer In 1994. These mean that the non mixing was not effective In destroying the stratification due to the sea surface heating by the solar radition, even though it was on spring tide. The maximum solar radiation was about 600 ly/day, which was the value of the same date of oceanographic observation. The sensible and the latent heat flux which are 0~100 ly/day were not so varied during summer. The absorbed heat flux through the sea surface was mostly lost by the back radiation. which ranges are about 0~-400 ly/day. The dimensionless mixing parameter related to the buoyancy flux was 5~150$\times$$10^{-5}$. The efficiency of tidal mixing to destroy the stratecation was 0.4~0.6%.
