This thesis is designed to take a close look into the characteristics of architectural space through the standard of beauty, which has been created apart from our desires at certain cultural or historical periods of time. It will try to construct the outline of conception about the beauty throughout many centuries. First of all, contents of the research will focus on the aspects, which people have been considering as beauty eversince the ancient time without having any assumptions on its concept. For example, if the beauty of art has been accepted by the theories of modern aesthetics while degrading the beauty of nature, its value could have possibly been much more appreciated. The standard of beauty has been going through the process of change in such history of mankind. The general standard of beauty, which was established in the ancient time was the proportion and harmony between many elements. Afterwards, beauty was expressed as colors and light in medieval times. Expression of beauty using ugly features such as monsters or demons also existed at the time. Beauty has been periodically developing from supernatural to gracious, rational, noble, romantic, religious, mechanical, and today's media. The concept of beauty established from the above has been appearing throughout various culture such as dress and decoration at the given period of time. It would later affect the formation of space as well as decoration for architectures and styles. It will be analyzed throughout the five design elements; style, composition, materials, components, and form. The thesis would like to find the spatial order of beauty from the result of the analysis. The analysis will examine the possibility for which the recomposition of beauty will be provided as a design process for the new era. The Greek beauty represents a shape. The shape represents proportion and the proportion represents given numbers. However, beauty is being expressed by the opposite process at the present time. In other words, computers will arrange the numbers, which would formalize the proportion between the numbers. Beauty would be presented when the shape is presented as certain forms.

The short animation directed by Sang-Ho Yeon has led the sympathy and reflection of audiences through reveling the violence of the military in the form of the social criticism film. The explores the social value of animation by the content of social criticism, not for entertainment uses but for public interest. This research addresses how the function of social criticism implements in animation film, especially, its narratives and direction. In the light of this, firstly, literature will review the general characteristics of social criticism films, Secondly, based on literature reviews, analysis tools will be drew, thirdly, the case study regarding will be processed by focusing on The function of social criticism, the technique of direction and expression of animation. As a result of this research, shows unique traits because of the hierarchical and exclusive characteristics of military culture, which differs from general characteristics of social criticism films dealing with historic and social issues. In addition to this, the function of social criticism is effectively implemented in animation film, by the creative narratives and technique of direction by a director, Sang-Ho Yeon.

This study was conducted to analyze the Korean inclination to visual equivocality. Similar studies conducted by several psychologists were reviewed in order to determine whether we can put equal value on the visual equivocality which is often shown in natural appearance. This Korean inclination was also investigated with the help of a public survey. The following conclusions were derived from the study. - In reality, there is no visual equivocality for Koreans except in some specific cases. - It is true that, on a screen, a diagonal line from the lower right to the upper left produces a stronger feeling of upward tendency than one from the lower left to the upper right. - The idea that the right side of a screen looks heavier than the left one was not supported and should be rejected for Koreans. - It was discovered that the user interface is working when a person is describing a natural appearance or looking at a description. This fact is generally accepted for Koreans, the majority of whom are right-handed. - Until now, the idea of a Korean superiority toward the left side in visual expression has been found in our culture. In short, it was uncovered that Korean people generally do not have visual equivocality but, instead, have an inclination to left side rather than the right from various aspects.

This study examined the trends of an illustration artist's art marketing widening its area in recent years and proposes a design concept of color cosmetics. Art marketing is a type of culture marketing and means marketing through exhibitions, performances and other artistic activities. Free artistic sensibility expression in which the artistic motif is melted into a product beyond the works of a particular artist, and the product, in turn, can be reflected in the canvas, has attracted attention. The works of illustrators are widening their area into the item in life not canvas. This paper proposes the color cosmetics design that reflect art marketing. The main target who proposed the design concept was trend-oriented and in their early to mid-20s with a strong personality, showing a strong tendency of attracting attention and being recognized. To emphasize the design concept of color cosmetics packaging design, the progressive image of the target class was reflected through brilliant and intense color combination. The cultural value and meaning are provided as the artistic mood becomes a part of life.

Since the graphics of fashion items as a means to deliver messages suggest practical sections of the society while showing individual ideas and identity, they have values of promotion to attract attention by manifesting an effective function during the process of delivering intentions and the signification. Accordingly, this study aims to investigate the characteristics expressed with graphics shown on T-shirts of casual wear out of all the fashion items and analyze the social messages reflected on them. Using the Barthes' system of denotation and connotation, distinguished symbolic functions and meaning among graphics were analyzed through the analysis of expression methods of the graphics as the denotation of initial meaning and connotation of secondary meaning. Each casual brand has led the sale of casual markets by appealing consumers with graphic items with characters printed such as various kinds of animals and symbols or lettering printed such as hieroglyph and logos, as various expressive methods and social significance as well as a effective communicative means of graphics. As examined above, graphics expressed on fashion items have an informative characteristic and a persuasive characteristic in the aspect of contents, which has a single value as a communicative characteristic. Those characteristics have developed into the fashion graphic actively reflecting a designer's conviction, values, feelings and identity by acting on social issues and publicness. That is, in the age of information, effective messages delivered through the fashion graphic to the public have contributed to the establishment of an appropriate atmosphere of visual culture while maximizing the role and function as a social significance.

Graffiti has been recognized as an art form since the influence of free, black culture and Neo-Expressionism in the 1980s, though Graffiti remains the subject of controversy both inside and outside the school Modem Art. Jean Michel Basquiat is the most famous Graffiti artist of the '80. He was regarded as the genius and star of American art, leaving a lot of experimental and creative works during his short, 9-year, creative period. In his works, Basquiat well expressed the isolated and dark shadows in the U.S., the pursuit of self identification, the purpose of expression and the epochally social phenomenon. The purpose of this study is to investigate the application of Jean Michel Basquiat's Graffiti to fashion painting. To achieve this purpose, we present a lot of fashion painting works which apply Jean Michel Basquiat's Graffiti by focusing on autographic experience, racialism, cartoon themes, monely value, and anatomical death in the characteristics of Basquiat's works. Through this process, we can express and apply Basquiat's Graffiti to fashion painting by analogizing the themes and modeling the methods of his works, such as childish and simple features, intentionally wrong spellings and sentences, and symbols of death including skeletons, intestines, bones and teeth. In addition, Basquiat's techniques are examined in this study, including the representational handling of a brush, primitive and strong colors, and maximized shape. This study found that fashion painting can juxtaposes art and fashion by expressing Jean Michel Basquiats' Graffiti.

This paper historically sheds the new lights on the artistic worth and achievement of abstract animation in the animation genre, and presents the contemporary significance and importance of abstract animation through the study on the avant-garde characteristic and the works of abstract animation artist, including Mirai Mizue. Though abstract animation which is artists' experimental work dealing with speed and movement of image has an essential role for the development of modern visual culture and animation, it is losing meaning and value because of the commercialism and capitalism of digital contents industry. Therefore, this paper first presents that the study of experimental animation like abstract animation contributes to the diversification and improvement of digital contents industry then it discusses the effect on the contemporary digital contents industries, next analyze the historical development and comtemporary evolution of abstract animation, which is diversified from modernism to contemporary art, and finally discuss the experimental feature and expression of abstract animation.

Phasianus colchicus is not only a beautiful bird but also a great value in science and under the threat of endanger. Hence, the aim of this study was to isolate the pheasant male germ cells (mGCs) and then induce them into elongated sperm-like cells in vitro. The mGCs were purified and enriched by a two-step plating method based on the different adherence velocities of mGCs and somatic cells. The percentage of the c-kit positive cells and c-kit negative cells examined by flow cytometry analysis (FCA) was 92.87% and 2.57%, respectively. Subsequently, the mGCs were induced for 48h in DMEM/F12 medium supplemented factors such as retinol acid, testosterone and bovine FSH, followed by 5 weeks in culture. We found that some elongated sperm-like cells appeared initially in vitro under inducement of stimulated factors. The elongated sperm-like cells showed in the expression of changed morphology and post-transcriptional marker such as spermatid associated (SPERT), spermatid perinuclear RNA binding protein (STRBP), round spermatid basic protein 1 (RSBN1) and SPER1L. Moreover, in DNA content identified assay, induced cells showed that the 1C DNA population markedly increased in differentiated group but it was not change in undifferentiated group. Successful in vitro differentiation of pheasant testicular germline cells into spermatids appears to offer extremely attractive potential for the conservation of endangered birds and treatment of male infertility.

With the advance of digital technology, development of exclusive CAD system for fashion textile that may suggest the future of fashion textile industry is increasingly accelerated. To build up the foundation of digital culture, it is required for fashion textile industry to develop goods with high value added and make rapid change of production system, and actually, exclusive programs are being developed to meet with the desire. Present study considers the vicissitude of fashion textile and the composition and characteristics of design system, and compares and analyses a variety of design developments of digital fashion textile. And it systemizes the expansion and change of creative digital pattern designs that are developed differing from existing graphic program, the expression of suitable textile texture, and the simulation effect by three-dimension modeling. By separating the usage of CAD system for fashion textile into designing and producing aspects, it also focuses on increasing the usage of exclusive CAD system for fashion textile.

The high percentage of Vermamoeba was found in tap water in Korea. This study investigated whether Vermamoeba induced allergic airway inflammation in mice. We selected 2 free-living amoebas (FLAs) isolated from tap water, which included Korean FLA 5 (KFA5; Vermamoeba vermiformis) and 21 (an homolog of Acanthamoeba lugdunensis KA/E2). We axenically cultured KFA5 and KFA21. We applied approximately 1×10⁶ to mice's nasal passages 6 times and investigated their pathogenicity. The airway resistance value was significantly increased after KFA5 and KFA21 treatments. The eosinophil recruitment and goblet cell hyperplasia were concomitantly observed in bronchial alveolar lavage (BAL) fluid and lung tissue in mice infected with KFA5 and KFA21. These infections also activated the Th2-related interleukin 25, thymic stromal lymphopoietin, and thymus and activation-regulated chemokines gene expression in mouse lung epithelial cells. The CD4⁺ interleukin 4⁺ cell population was increased in the lung, and the secretion of Th2-, Th17-, and Th1-associated cytokines were upregulated during KFA5 and KFA21 infection in the spleen, lung-draining lymph nodes, and BAL fluid. The pathogenicity (allergenicity) of KFA5 and KFA21 might not have drastically changed during the long-term in vitro culture. Our results suggested that Vermamoeba could elicit allergic airway inflammation and may be an airway allergen.
