Development of HRM Markers for Discrimination of Pyogo (Lentinula edodes) Cultivars Sanjo 701 and Chamaram

  • Pyogo (Shiitake, Lentinula edodes) is one of the most important edible mushrooms because of its outstanding nutritive and medicinal value. In the registration and protection procedure for newly developed mushroom cultivars, the application of molecular markers that can supplement the morphological characteristic-based distinction has been strongly requested. Sanjo 701 and Chamaram, newly developed at the Federation Forest Mushroom Research Center of Korea, have been characterized as innovative cultivars suitable for customer demands because of their high yields and cultivation rates. However, no technical tools can protect the rights to these important cultivars. In this study, using comparative genomic information from 23 commercially available pyogo cultivars, we identified single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that accurately differentiated Sanjo701 and Chamaram from the other cultivars. We also developed high-resolution melting analysis (HRM)-based SNP markers that discriminate among the tested 23 pyogo cultivars. The developed SNP markers can be utilized for rapid, accurate identification of pyogo cultivars with low genetic diversity and to prevent cultivar contamination caused by illegally distributed inocula. In addition, these markers can serve as a crucial scientific basis for securing the right to conserve new cultivars in international markets.

  • This study investigates the barriers to the deployment of solar thermal and ground source heat pump (GSHP) from the perspective of consumers and businesses, as well as evaluates priorities for improving the barriers via expert AHP evaluation. From a consumer's perspective, the overall satisfaction with solar thermal is significantly lower than that with PV and needs to be improved at the installation and use stages. GSHP needs to be improved at the prior-information search stage. From a business perspective, the non-distinction between heat and electricity in mandatory installations in public buildings, the difficulty in assessing the value of heat, and high initial costs impede the deployment. Based on the result of AHP analysis, the priorities for improving the barriers to the wide utilization of solar thermal are evaluated in the order of economic feasibility, policy, acceptability, and technology, where high installation cost is shown to be the greatest barrier. Barriers for GSHP are evaluated in the order of policy, acceptability, economic feasibility, and technology, where policy means improvement is evaluated as the most important factor in promoting the deployment of GSHP.

퍼지 추론에 의한 한열 판별 (Distinction of Hot-Cold Using Fuzzy Inference)

  • Objectives Recently the fuzzy logic is widely used in the decision making, identification, pattern recognition, optimization in various fields. In this study, we propose the fuzzy logic as the objective method of distinguishing hot and cold, the basis of diagnosis in Korean medicine. Methods We developed fuzzy inference system to distinguish whether the subjects had hot or cold. The cold and hot questionnaire of Korean traditional university textbook, the pulse rate and the DITI value of face used in the system. These three kinds of information were defined as 'fuzzy sets,' and 54 fuzzy rules were established on the basis of clinical practitioners' knowledge. The fuzzy inference was performed by using the Mamdani's method. To evaluate the usefulness of the fuzzy inference system, 200 cases of data measured in the Woosuk university hospital of oriental medicine were used to compare the determining hot, normal, cold results obtained from the experts and from the proposed system. Results As a result, 100 cases of "cold", 54 cases of "normal", and 34 cases of "hot" were matched between the experts and the proposed system. This fuzzy system showed the conformity degree of 94%(${\kappa}=0.853$). Conclusions In this study, we could express the process of distinguishing hot-cold using the fuzzy logic for objectification and quantification of hot-cold identification. This is the first study that introduce a fuzzy logic for distinguish pattern identification. The degree of the heat characteristic of the patients inferred by this system could provide a more objective basis for diagnosing the hot-cold of patients.

But, case of Gangnamgu and Songpagu is thought that environment and utilization etc. of area life of old people are affinity with quality of life environment of old people when see that is using various area facilities using electric railway and a bus etc. actively. It is looked by the other that individual's special quality uses area facilities according to life partner's existence and nonexistence and family composition and existence and nonexistence of profession and distinction of sex. Show difference of external behavior according to public garden and market and supermarket and welfare facilities etc.'s location in dwelling environment of area and relation about facilities of area has been formed and old people and dwelling environment of area can know that is that do interaction. Environment that access about facilities may have to be easy, and can live that communicating closely with area's inhabitantses may have to consist so that old people may can run various external life.. Notions of the evaluated value is an profit(+) and expense(-) that decide design intention. To adapt real planning, 1. A raster type space cell has logical site informations. 2. To be evaluate various factor. 3. To reflect operator's design mind, they should add an extra weight on evaluated value.

  • The features of special brand eggs are growing more and more diverse and it is hard to draw a clear distinction between these and ordinary (no-brand) eggs. Special brand eggs range from those with objectively recognizable characteristics to those given only an unsubstantial product image and price differentials are among them great, too. The relation between product features and prices is unclear. Special brand eggs are the commodity whose characteristics are the vaguest of all livestock products. Farm's brand eggs produce a high profitability to producers is they are directly sold to consumers, by, for example, home-delivery service. But if they are sold to supermarkets, etc., producer's (poultry farmer's) income becomes lower by the amount of distributors' margin, reducing the profitability substantially. Thus how to increase the ration of retailing is important for farmers to secure a high profit. The sales strategies of poultry are the combination of two elements, that is, new product development (product differentiation) and creation of new market. But it is difficult for special brand egg producers to develop products with clear characteristics (use value) distinct form ordinary eggs and so these producers depend on the factors of appearance, such as the color of egg shells and package. Special brand eggs manage to keep their marketable value by the combination of the few product features and product image. Thus NB eggs from feed producers have a great market-ability since they can take advantage of the power of patents and TV commercials. However, market differentiation affects profitability much more than product features and price gaps are very wide between directly sold and wholesaled eggs. The producers of special brand eggs have come to the turning point where they have to decide whether they will content with being the subcontractors for NB and PB eggs or they will continue to keep their independence in production and marketing.

토모신테시스의 유방촬영에서의 활용 (Utilization of Mammogram in the Tomosynthesis)

  • 본 연구는 기존의 Mammogram와 Tomosynthesis를 비교하여 진단적 가치를 평가하고 피검자의 유선선량을 비교하여 Tomosynthesis의 활용에 대해서 고찰해 보고자 하였다. 2015년 1월 한 달 동안 본원을 내원한 환자 62명을 대상으로 선행 검사를 시행한 후 어떤 병변이 있을 때 추가적으로 Tomosynthesis를 시행하였는지 분석하였다. 유방촬영용 ACR phantom을 이용하였으며 자동 노출이 되도록 설정된 상태에서 촬영한 kVp와 mAs를 기준으로 하여 kVp는 고정하고 mAs를 단계적으로 변화를 주어 유선선량을 분석하였다. 그 결과 Tomosynthesis가 유방 병변 구별에 우수하였으며 2D Mammogram과 비교할 때 확연한 대조도 차이를 보였다. 또한 두 검사의 평균유선선량에서는 Mammogram(1.15 mGy)보다 Tomosynthesis(1.48 mGy)가 0.33 mGy정도 높았으나 추가검사의 불필요함으로 인해 장기적으로는 피폭선량이 감소하는 효과를 보였다. 그러므로 Tomosynthesis는 유방의 진단적 가치를 높임과 동시에 피폭선량을 줄일 수 있는 검사이며 향후 유방질환의 검사에 적합하게 적용되고 응용할 수 있을 것이다.

개선된 ART1 알고리즘을 이용한 이미지 인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on Image Recognition using Enhanced ART1 Algorithm)

  • 이미지 인식 분야에 있어서 전자 결재시 도장의 진위 문제와 은행업무 또는 중요서류에 있어서의 도장 진위 문제는 점점 더 중요하게 부각되고 있는데 반해 기존의 도장 이미지 처리 과정은 물체의 테두리 부분과 같이 명암도가 날카롭게 변하는 부분의 선명도를 흐리게 하는 단점이 있으며 윤곽선을 추출하는데 어려움이 많다. 본 논문에서는 개선한 평활화 방법을 이용하여 특정한 범위내의 픽셀을 조사하여 가장 빈번히 나타나는 값을 찾고,그 값을 해당 픽셀의 값으로 대체시켜 윤곽선을 검출한 다음, ART1 학습 알고리즘에서 경계값을 퍼지 연산자중 Yager의 일반화된 교연산자를 적용하여 경계변수값을 동적으로 변화시켜 올바른 분류가 될 수 있도록 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 ART1학습 알고리즘에 적용하여 실험한 결과 기존의 ART1 알고리즘을 이용한 경우보다 향상된 이미지 인식율을 보였다.

Extreme wind speeds from multiple wind hazards excluding tropical cyclones

  • The estimation of wind speed values used in codes and standards is an integral part of the wind load evaluation process. In a number of codes and standards, wind speeds outside of tropical cyclone prone regions are estimated using a single probability distribution developed from observed wind speed data, with no distinction made between the types of causal wind hazard (e.g., thunderstorm). Non-tropical cyclone wind hazards (i.e., thunderstorm, non-thunderstorm) have been shown to possess different probability distributions and estimation of non-tropical cyclone wind speeds based on a single probability distribution has been shown to underestimate wind speeds. Current treatment of non-tropical cyclone wind hazards in worldwide codes and standards is touched upon in this work. Meteorological data is available at a considerable number of United States (U.S.) stations that have information on wind speed as well as the type of causal wind hazard. In this paper, probability distributions are fit to distinct storm types (i.e., thunderstorm and non-thunderstorm) and the results of these distributions are compared to fitting a single probability distribution to all data regardless of storm type (i.e., co-mingled). Distributions fitted to data separated by storm type and co-mingled data will also be compared to a derived (i.e., "mixed") probability distribution considering multiple storm types independently. This paper will analyze two extreme value distributions (e.g., Gumbel, generalized Pareto). It is shown that mixed probability distribution, on average, is a more conservative measure for extreme wind speed estimation. Using a mixed distribution is especially conservative in situations where a given wind speed value for either storm type has a similar probability of occurrence, and/or when a less frequent storm type produces the highest overall wind speeds. U.S. areas prone to multiple non-tropical cyclone wind hazards are identified.

Expression of Matrix Metalloproteinase-2, but not Caspase-3, Facilitates Distinction between Benign and Malignant Thyroid Follicular Neoplasms

  • Purpose: Definite diagnosis of follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) is based on the presence of capsular or vascular invasion. To date, no reliable and practical method has been introduced to discriminate this malignant neoplasm from follicular thyroid adenoma (FTA) in fine needle aspiration biopsy material. Matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), by degrading extracellular matrix, and caspase-3, by induction of apoptosis, have been shown to play important roles in carcinogenesis and aggressive behavior in many tumor types. The aim of this study was to examine expression of MMP-2 and caspase-3 in thyroid follicular neoplasms and to determine their usefulness for differential diagnosis. Method: Sixty FTAs and 41 FTCs were analysed immunohistochemically for MMP-2 and caspase-3. Result: MMP-2 was positive in 4 FTCs (9.8%), but in none of FTAs, with statistical significance (p= 0.025). Caspase-3 was positive in 30 (50%) of FTAs and in 27 (65.9%) of FTCs. Conclusion: Our results show MMP-2 expression only in FTCs and suggest that this protein may be a useful marker to confirm diagnosis of FTC versus FTA with 100% specificity and 100% predictive value of a positive test. We failed to show any differential diagnostic value for caspase-3 in thyroid follicular neoplasms.

장기공공임대주택 주민의식조사를 통한 주거환경개선방향 설정연구 (A Study on the Direction of Residential Environment Improvement through the Residents Survey in Long-term Public Rental Housing)

  • 노후 공공임대주택은 노후화 관리를 위해 주거환경개선을 지속적으로 시행하며 최근 3년간 시설개선사업을 통해 기본적인 노후화 관리를 수행하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 주거단지 노후화에 따른 주거환경요소의 개선 요구도 및 현 주거환경 만족도 조사를 통해 기 시행된 시설개선사업의 효과에 대해 알아보고 추후 시설개선사업의 계획방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국 장기공공임대주택의 거주자를 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며 만족도 및 중요도에 대해 평균값 분석을 하고 항목간의 유형구분을 위해 요인분석을 하였다. 그 결과 주거환경개선 항목으로 도출한 공용 공간 29개 항목을 6개의 요인으로 구분하고, 세대 내부 공간 28개 항목을 4개의 요인으로 구분하여 만족도 및 중요도에 대한 평균값을 비교하였다. 결론적으로 주민의식조사 결과를 종합하여 추후 시설개선 사업을 중심으로 타 주거환경개선사업과 연계한 추진방향을 제안하였다.
