Investigating Factors Affecting Value Creation and Its Distribution on Company's Performance

  • Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of business processes, quality of human resources and organizational culture and its distribution in creating value to achieve competitive advantage. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: Data collection in this study was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 90 employees of Delivery service companies in Makassar City. Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis was used as data analysis. Result: this study indicates that business processes do not directly affect competitive advantage, but business processes will have an effect if they go through the value creation process as an intervening variable, while the quality of human resources and work environment have a direct effect on competitive advantage and have a direct effect on Value creation. The quality of human resources and organizational culture also have an indirect effect on competitive advantage through the value creation process. This research also indicates that value creation has an effect on competitive advantage. Conclusion: Competitive advantage will be realized if organizational processes run well, company management that able to carry out good organizational processes and able to create a conducive organizational culture, will be able to distribute company resources to create value that leads to achieving competitive advantage for companies in the future.

  • The result of management profits create to manufacturing activity. The gross sale profits must be maximum thraw spend of economic value. The profit maximum have to management based key value driver of manufacturing activity. The important factors of the study model are manufacturing value driver(MVD) and manufacturing value added(MVA). We show necessity of management based value by means of a case study.

Veri cation of Improving a Clustering Algorith for Microarray Data with Missing Values

  • Gene expression microarray data often include multiple missing values. Most gene expression analysis (including gene clustering analysis); however, require a complete data matric as an input. In ordinary clustering methods, just a single missing value makes one abandon the whole data of a gene even if the rest of data for that gene was intact. The quality of analysis may decrease seriously as the missing rate is increased. In the opposite aspect, the imputation of missing value may result in an artifact that reduces the reliability of the analysis. To clarify this contradiction in microarray clustering analysis, this paper compared the accuracy of clustering with and without imputation over several microarray data having different missing rates. This paper also tested the clustering efficiency of several imputation methods including our propose algorithm. The results showed it is worthwhile to check the clustering result in this alternative way without any imputed data for the imperfect microarray data.

  • Organization change projects such as Business Process Redesign(BPR) have been implemented by many firms for enhancing their organizational performance. However, management is reluctant to initiate these projects due to enterprise-wide impact and steeper project cost than the traditional system development projects. Thus, there emerges a need to accurately assess the value of the redesigned organizational process for the successful implementation of BPR projects. The purpose of this study is to assess the value of process redesign in the point of resource utilization and allocation, and cycle time and cost reduction. The candidate process and the design alternatives are identified from organizational requirements analysis. The variables and their relations are defined to perform task activity analysis, bottleneck analysis, cycle cost analysis, and resource utilization analysis. A Case study of a manufacturing company indicates that the assessments method proposed in this study is a promising approach to identify the business alternative process that lead to the highest organizational performance.

  • In these days, the interest on health industry is increasing around the world. This paper attempts to estimate the economic effects of the Cosmetic Industrydusing the Input-Output Analysis. Especially, 78*78 Sector Tables were used as the first analysis tool. So then, 79*79 Sector Tables adjusted were used for that industry. The main analysis tools of this study are comparing and analyzing backward and forward linkage effects, the induced effects of the self industry and other industries and the induced coefficients such as product, value-added, job and employment. According to the result of analysis, the cosmetic industry has great economic impacts which affects the major macroeconomic factors such as product, value added and backward linkage effect. And the induced effects of the self cosmetic industry are significant compared to other industries in aspects of product, value-added, and employment.

  • The objective of this paper is to evaluate the proposed design by the Value Engineering (VE) analysis for the gravel ballast and the concrete ballast track structures. However, reliabilities about the VE analysis results based on Life-Cycle Cost(LCC) has not been fully benefited from VE implementation due to disregard of basic principles and lack of systematic performance measurement systems. In this paper, the VE analysis using the Delphi survey of professional group is proposed to decide reasonable determinants for investment and alternative design in construction project of railway tracks. Moreover, the efficiency of VE analysis is invested by an application of the developed methodology to track structures.

Economic Analysis of an Internet Portal, 'NANOIN'

  • In this research, economic analysis of Integrated Information System for Nano-convergence Industy (hereafter 'NANOIN'), which was developed and has been in operation by Organization of Nano-convergence Industrial Cooperation, is conducted. For this purpose, the research has been carried out in the following order. First, NANOIN user's maximum willingness-to-pay is estimated using contingent valuation method, the number for NANOIN users is estimated using Bass Diffusion Model, and annual benefit from NANOIN is estimated. Next, annual cost from NANOIN is estimated using annual budget for NANOIN related planned activities. Finally, economic value of NANOIN is evaluated using economic analysis applied to the estimated annual NANOIN benefit and cost. From the economic analysis, it is found that NANOIN has some economic value. It is expected that the procedures suggested in this research can help to systematically evaluate economic value for public goods which have not only uncertain benefit from user's side but also uncertain demand just like NANOIN.

Shape optimization of a bow for maximizing internal-energy (내부에너지를 최대로 하는 활 구조의 최적화)

  • In this paper, the optimized design for bow structure was investigated by using EDISON software. Considering the mechanism of the bow, non-linear FEM analysis was essential. The factors of the design are height, width, number of holes and taper value. High performance of the internal energy and lowest mass were main issues. The limit of the von-mises stress was yield strength for the material. Material was chosen by considering typical bow material, Aluminum. Using Taguchi method($L_9$), 9 models were selected and contribution rate was calculated for each factors. Following the contribution rate, 3 factors were fixed and optimized model was predicted. After making optimized model for FEM analysis, the value of internal-energy, mass for FEM model were compared with predicted value, calculated the percentage error and figure out the reliability of Taguchi method.

  • The purpose of this study was 1) to find out the benefits sought factors of jeans and to segment the consumer market 2) to analyze Purchase behavior, brand loyalty, and demo- graphic characteristics of benefit segments. The subjects were 350 male and female university students who have purchased at least one of the nine jeans brands selected for this study. For statistical analysis, reliability test, percentage, factor analysis, cluster analysis, x2-test, and analysis of variance were used. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Benefits sought by consumer were found to include four different factors-brand value, individuality, fashionability, and practicality. 2. As a result of subdividing the consumers, three distinctive groups were formed on the basis of benefit factors-individuality.fashion oriented group, brand value oriented group, and practicality oriented group. 3. Brand value oriented group rated the highest in all of following variables number of jeans possessed and purchased annually, brand loyalty, average household income, average monthly allowences, and amount of money spent in purchasing clothes in each season. Individuality - fashion oriented group rated the second.

Analysis of Operational Effect of Public Culture & Arts Institution (공공 문화예술기관의 운영효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this Study is to present the tasks and means of improving the operational system of public culture and arts institutes in the future on the basis of the analysis of the effectiveness of operation of public culture and arts institutes. The summary of the results of analysis in this Study is as follows: Firstly, it was found that the factor variables that impart effect on the operation of public culture and arts institutes included (1) artistic value, (2) convenience and (3) organizational management, while the performance variable of public culture and arts institutes was (4) operational performance. Secondly, in the analysis of the structure that explains the operational effects of public culture and arts institutes, convenience and organizational management were found to impart effects on the operational performances. However, artistic value was found to have no effect on operational performances. Therefore, these results of analysis imply that organizational management and convenience, rather than artistic value, need to be fortified in order to elevate the operational performances of public culture and arts institutes.
