Indium tin oxide (ITO) has been widely used as transparent conductive oxides (TCOs) for transparent electrodes of various optoelectronic devices, such as liquid crystal displays (LCD) and organic light emitting diodes (OLED). However, indium has become increasingly expensive and rare because of its limited resources. In addition, ITO thin films have some problems for OLED and flexible displays, such as imperfect work function, chemical instability, and high deposition temperature. Therefore, multi-component TCO materials have been reported as anode materials. Among the various materials, IZTO thin films have been gained much attention as anode materials due to their high work function, good conductivity, high transparency and low deposition temperature. IZTO thin films with a thickness of 200nm were deposited on Corning glass substrate at different substrate temperature by pulsed DC magnetron sputtering with a sintered ceramic target of IZTO (In2O3 70 wt%, ZnO 15 wt%, SnO2 15 wt%). We investigated the electrical, optical, structural properties of IZTO thin films. As the substrate temperature is increased, the electrical properties of IZTO are improved. All IZTO thin films have good optical properties, which showed an average of transmittance over 80%. These IZTO thin films were used to fabricate organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) as anode and the device performances studied. As a result, IZTO has utility value of TCO electrode although it reduced indium and we expect it is possible for the IZTO to apply to flexible display due to the low processing temperature.

Transparent and flexible electronic devices that are light-weight, unbreakable, low power consumption, optically transparent, and mechanical flexible possibly have great potential in new applications of digital gadgets. Potential applications include transparent displays, heads-up display, sensor, and artificial skin. Recent reports on transparent and flexible field-effect transistors (tf-FETs) have focused on improving mechanical properties, optical transmittance, and performances. Most of tf-FET devices were fabricated with transparent oxide semiconductors which mechanical flexibility is limited. And, there have been no reports of transparent and flexible all-organic tf-FETs fabricated with organic semiconductor channel, gate dielectric, gate electrode, source/drain electrode, and encapsulation for sensor applications. We present the first demonstration of transparent, flexible all-organic sensor based on multifunctional organic FETs with organic semiconductor channel, gate dielectric, and electrodes having a capability of sensing infrared (IR) radiation and mechanical strain. The key component of our device design is to integrate the poly(vinylidene fluoride-triflouroethylene) (P(VDF-TrFE) co-polymer directly into transparent and flexible OFETs as a multi-functional dielectric layer, which has both piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties. The P(VDF-TrFE) co-polumer gate dielectric has a high sensitivity to the wavelength regime over 800 nm. In particular, wavelength variations of P(VDF-TrFE) molecules coincide with wavelength range of IR radiation from human body (7000 nm ~14000 nm) so that the devices are highly sensitive with IR radiation of human body. Devices were examined by measuring IR light response at different powers. After that, we continued to measure IR response under various bending radius. AC (alternating current) gate biasing method was used to separate the response of direct pyroelectric gate dielectric and other electrical parameters such as mobility, capacitance, and contact resistance. Experiment results demonstrate that the tf-OTFT with high sensitivity to IR radiation can be applied for IR sensors.

In the era of 45 nm or beyond technology, conventional etch mask using photoresist showed its limitation of etch mask pattern collapse as well as pattern erosion, thus hard mask in etching became necessary for precise control of etch pattern geometry. Currently available hard mask materials are amorphous carbon and polymetric materials spin-on containing carbon or silicon. Amorphous carbon layer (ACL) deposited by PECVD for etch hard mask has appeared in manufacturing, but spin-on carbon (SOC) was also suggested to alleviate concerns of particle, throughput, and cost of ownership (COO) [1]. SOC provides some benefits of reduced process steps, but it also faced with wiggling on a sidewall profile. Diamond like carbon (DLC) was also evaluated for substituting ACL, but etching selectivity of ACL was better than DLC although DLC has superior optical property [2]. Developing a novel material for pattern hard mask is very important in material research, but it is also worthwhile eliminating a potential issue to continuously develop currently existing technology. In this paper, we investigated in-situ dry-cleaning (ISD) monitoring of ACL coated process chamber. End time detection of chamber cleaning not only provides a confidence that the process chamber is being cleaned, but also contributes to minimize wait time waste (WOW). Employing Challenger 300ST, a 300mm ACL PECVD manufactured by TES, a series of experimental chamber cleaning runs was performed after several deposition processes in the deposited film thickness of $2000{\AA}$ and $5000{\AA}$. Ar Actinometry and principle component analysis (PCA) were applied to derive integrated and intuitive trace signal, and the result showed that previously operated cleaning run time can be reduced by more than 20% by employing real-time monitoring in ISD process.

We investigated electrical and optical properties and chemical states of amorphous In-Ga-Zn-O (a-IGZO) thin films deposited at different substrate temperatures (from room temperature to $300^{\circ}C$). a-IGZO thin films were fabricated by radio frequency magnetron sputtering using $In_2O_3$ : $Ga_2O_3$ : ZnO = 1 : 1 : 1 target, and their electrical and optical properties and chemical states were investigated by Hall-measurement, UV-visible spectroscopy and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. The data showed that as substrate temperature increased, carrier concentration increased, but mobility, conductivity, transmittance in the shorter wavelength region (>350 nm), and the Tauc-plot-estimated optical bandgap decreased. XPS data indicated that the intensity of In 3d peak compared to Ga 3d peak increased but the intensity of Zn 3d peak compared to Ga 3d decreased, and that, from the deconvoluted O 1s peak, defects or oxygen vacancies and non-quaternary contents increased as the temperature increased. The relative intensity changes of the In, Zn, and O 1s sub-component are suggested to explain the changes in electrical and optical properties.

Formation and characterization of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on various surfaces are the essential basis for many other applications, including molecular switches, biosensors, microfluidics, and fundamental studies in surfaces and interfaces. To improve the performance at these applications, it is a key to control the quantity of each molecule in various mixed SAMs on the surface. In this study, using mixed SAM of carbamate-based hydroquinone (HQ)-PhBr and11-mercaptoundecanol, the quantitative mass spectrometric method of mixed SAM was developed based on comparison study with XPS and FT-IR methods. In addition, our method was applied to another mixed SAM of biotinylated PEG alkane thiol and 11-mercaptoundecanol for verification purpose. Time-of-flight secondary mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) analysis was performed to identify and quantify each molecule of mixed SAM along with principal component analysis (PCA). Since there is no matrix effect in the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) techniques, we compared ToF-SIMS results with XPS and FT-IR results. Because PCA results from ToF-SIMS analysis are well matched with XPS and FT-IR results from both mixed SAMs, we are expecting that our method will be useful to identify and quantify each molecule in various mixed SAMs.

This paper presents the understandings carried out for the installation of the hydrogen reservoir of the multi-gap pseudospark switch under developing for the accelerator applications. As a cold cold cathode switch, the pseudospark switch could replace the thyratron switch which has hot cathode and being used well currently in the high power field such as laser and accelerator applications. Especially in the klystron modulator, the key component is a switch which mostly defines the jitter and the instability of the modulator system. To get the less jitter and the instability, we need to find proper range of the pressure for the gas discharge inside gas switch. This could be achieved by the understanding of the characteristic of the nonevaporable getter (NEG) which is used as a hydrogen reservoir for the switch. Therefore we verified the characteristics of the NEG (St 172, Saes) and its installation in the switch. Finally we controlled the getter to find best pressure point for the pseudospark switch.

Atomic layer deposition (ALD) is known for its self-limiting reaction, which offers atomic-level controllability of the growth of thin films for a wide range of applications. The self-limiting mechanism leads to very useful properties, such as excellent uniformity over a large area and superior conformality on complex structures. These unique features of ALD provide promising opportunities for future electronics. Although the ALD of Al2O3 film (using trimethyl-aluminum and water as a metal precursor and oxygen source, respectively) can be regarded as a representative example of an ideal ALD based on the completely self-limiting reaction, there are many cases deviating from the ideal ALD reaction in recently developed ALD processes. The nonconventional aspects of the ALD reactions may strongly influence the various properties of the functional materials grown by ALD, and the lack of comprehension of these aspects has made ALD difficult to control. In this respect, several dominant factors that complicate ALD reactions, including the types of metal precursors, non-metal precursors (oxygen sources or reducing agents), and substrates, will be discussed in this presentation. Several functional materials for future electronics, such as higher-k dielectrics (TiO2, SrTiO3) for DRAM application, and resistive switching materials (NiO) for RRAM application, will be addressed in this talk. Unwanted supply of oxygen atoms from the substrate or other component oxide to the incoming precursors during the precursor pulse step, and outward diffusion of substrate atoms to the growing film surface even during the steady-state growth influenced the growth, crystal structure, and properties of the various films.

To improve the individual packaging method and extend the shelf life of hair tail(Trichiurus japonicus), salted an unsalted hair tail chunk (cut in 8-10cm) were packaged in laminated plastic film bag(Nylon/PE: $20{\mu}m,\;12{\times}15cm$) filled with with free-$O_2$ absorber, in vacuum, and stored at 0 and/or $5^{\circ}C$. The other samples were packaged in plastic foam trays, overwraped with oxygen permeable film(control), and stored at same temperature. Volatile basic nitrogen (VBN), trimethylamine (TMA) and viable cell counts (VCC) were progressed with increase of storage time, but thiobarbituric acid (TBA) values decreased gradually after reaching at a maximum peak in 5-15 days. Judging from 4 chemical components, VBN was the most available component in quality judgement of hair tail chunk and its upper limiting content was 29 mg%. Regression equation for shelf life prediction of hair tail chunk with sensory evalution and VBN component was determined.

Glass-to-metal contact should be prevented in the design of any structural glass component. Because glass is extremely brittle and will fracture readily if even a small point load is applied. If the assembly includes a glass component supported by metallic structure, designers should provide a pliable interface of some kind between the two parts. But there happens high demand of glass-to metal contact in semiconductor industries due to adoption of dry cleaning process as one of the good solution to reduce running cost - carry out equipments cleaning with high corrosive and etching gas such as CF4 with keeping process temperature as the same as high service temperature. Therefore the quartz glass have to be received compression by direct contact with metal as the form of weight itself and vacuum pressure and fatigue by vibrations caused by process during the process. In this paper investigation will be carried out on fracture behavior of quartz glass contacted with metal directly under local load and fatigue given by process vibration with apparatus which can give $lox{\backslash}cal$ load and vibration through PZT ceramics to give guideline to prevent unintended fracture of quartz glass.

Modular product design has contributed to flexible product modification and development, production lead time reduction, and increasing product diversity. Modular product design aims to develop a product architecture that is composed of detachable modules. These modules are constructed by maximizing the similarity of components based on physical and functional interaction analysis among components. Accordingly, a systematic procedure for clustering the components, which is a main activity in modular product design, is proposed in this paper. The first phase in this procedure is to build a component-to-component correlation matrix by analyzing physical and functional interaction relations among the components. In the second phase, network flow modeling is applied to find clusters of components, maximizing their correlations. In the last phase, a network flow model formulated with linear programming is solved to find the clusters and to make them modular. Finally, the proposed procedure in this research and its application are illustrated with an example of modularization for a vacuum cleaner.
