  • Smart museums based on the growth of online exhibition can be seen as in line with the movement of the 4th Industrial Revolution. By combining art and technologies, they enable viewers to experience culture and art. This study examined the cases of the Dunhuang Museum, the Palace Museum, and the China Arts and Crafts Master Museum to assess or identify how China is leading by accepting the technology of the fourth industry and applying the technology. In common, Chinese smart museums are widely used for collecting enviromental data, establishing integrated digital applications, and preserving collections, services, management, and exhibitions through VR, and AR. Through the case of the Chinese Smart Museum, this study identified the online exhibition as a space that exists in another dimension rather than an image replica with excellent operational utility. Therefore, online exhibitions are the best medium to expand the space, and viewers can explorethe museum's exhibition room and engage with all the contents of the museum without visiting the museum in person. Through the online exhibition of smart museums, visitors and viewers can be transformed into more active cultural consumers and develop collective capabilities.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics and problems of the content of flower design education videos on YouTube and to search for improvement direction. The subjects of analysis were 129 pieces of videos uploaded in the last one year including 'craftman floral design' as a search term. The result shows that contents covered were practical lectures, theory lectures, test related tips, job and character introduction, test work, educational guidance and publicity. The production format could be divided into studio lecture, classroom lecture, video feature, interview, Vlog, and television program. The hub-type programming strategy that periodically uploads the videos satisfying the target audiences' interests is mostly applied. The type of lecture covered 'practical skill test' got a good response from the users. Overall, content diversity, interaction between creators and users, and harmonious programming strategies are lacking. In order to improve this, it is necessary for emotional and expressive creators to pioneer differentiated fields and practice based on actual field. The introduction of interactive elements such as games and quizzes and the application of new media technologies such as VR and AR are worth trying. Three strategic types of 'hero', 'hub', and 'how to' should be applied complementary. As the demand for education content related to flower design is expected to expand in the future, it is required to develop content that can be used in various platforms, foster professional creators, and develop associated business models.

  • Most studies using drone is confined utilization on the ground and regulation. The drone in the water is rarely used in hydrographic surveying because of the limit of flight time and image matching. This paper is the basic research for drone hydrographic photogrammetry. The accuracy of hydrographic photogrammetry, using buoys for water reference point, was evaluated. The accuracy is influenced by the accuracy of the water reference points like the photogrammetry. The position of water reference points set up on water, keep on changing due to various environmental factors such as wind speed and water velocity. The position continuously changed of the water reference points were measured 3 times using Total Station and VRS. Experiments were conducted at two reservoirs in Gimhae City, and the accuracy of the manual image matching using the water reference points is 40 cm and 80 cm. Allowable accuracy of the ocean boundary survey is ${\pm}2m$, the results of this study are fully available. The maximum position error of the water reference point for ensuring accuracy within ${\pm}2m$ is 1.8 m.

  • Augmented reality (AR) technology visualizes a real type object that cannot simulate in virtual reality technology by overlapping a virtual object and real object in a computer system. This study suggests a methodology and prototype system for applying AR system to rebar distribution work in a civil engineering project. Rebar work in civil engineering project is a representative activity that is progressed by empirical approach of skilled labor rather than formalized manual. AR technology improves the constructability of rebar work because AR tool can identify missing rebars and different rebars comparing with the drawings. AR system developed in this study can enhance the understanding of rebar work using 3D modeling with real image of construction site and save construction cost by reducing reconstruction work.

  • Since the advent of 3D and UHD contents, demand for high-quality panoramic images has been increasing. The UWV(Ultra-Wide Viewing) service uses a wider viewing angle than conventional panoramas to provide a lively experience for users and enhance their understanding of the event. In this paper, we propose a spatial adjacency map generation method and an UWV file storage format technology to provide UWV service. The spatial adjacency map measures the similarity between images and generate the position information of the images based on similarity. And the stitching time of the image can be shortened through the generated position information. Through the spatial adjacency map, we generate the large screen content quickly. The UWV file format which is based on ISOBMFF process spatial adjacency map and videos and support random access. In this paper, we design the UWV player to verify the spatial adjacency map and UWV file format and show the result of experiments.

  • Virtual Reality contents are being used as media in various fields. In order for the virtual reality contents to be realistic, the scale of the objects in the virtual reality must be the same as the actual size, and the user must feel the same size. However, even if the size of the character in the virtual reality space is made equal to the size in comparison with the size of the character in the reality, the distortion of the size can occur when the user looks at the object in the image with the HMD. In this paper, I investigate the requirements related to size in virtual reality, and try to find out what difference these requirements have in virtual reality and how the difference affects users. Experiments and surveys to compare the size of objects in virtual reality space and the size of objects in real space were conducted to investigate how scale distortion occurs at distant and near places. I hope that this paper will be a useful research for virtual reality developers.

Among those rapidly progressing fields of high technology, digital media field has the ability to substitute for the multimedia information society by being applied to many related fields and daily life. Specifically, the concern and enthusiasm for the restoration of cultural property has risen. So, effective methods are required to decide on the preservation, restoration and academic value of cultural property. Among these, image processing technology using computers has been introduced. The restoration of cultural property using this technique has been studied vigorously in many advanced countries because this would allow us to restore damaged parts without destroying the original asset. However, in Korea, though we have numerous examples of cultural property with recorded history, research related to the items has scarcely been conducted. Accordingly, this study focuses on the investigation of virtual reality and the techniques applicable to restoring cultural property in addition to suggesting the significance and possibility of digitally restoring cultural property following the introduction of applicable examples both domestically and abroad.

  • This study evaluate user feedback such as physiological response and facial expression when subjects play a social decision making game with interactive virtual agent partners. In the social decision making game, subjects will invest some of money or credit in one of projects. Their partners (virtual agents) will also invest in one of the projects. They will interact with different kinds of virtual agents which behave reciprocated or unreciprocated behavior while expressing socially affective facial expression. The total money or credit which the subject earns is contingent on partner's choice. From this study, I observed that subject's appraisal of interaction with cooperative/uncooperative (or friendly/unfriendly) virtual agents in an investment game result in increased autonomic and somatic response, and that these responses were observed by physiological signal and facial expression in real time. For assessing user feedback, Photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor, Galvanic skin response (GSR) sensor while capturing front facial image of the subject from web camera were used. After all trials, subjects asked to answer to questions associated with evaluation how much these interaction with virtual agents affect to their appraisals.

  • Modem society is information oriented with countless people needing quick reliable information. They also wart to be freed from the limitations of reality such astime and space and experience the world of imagination as if it was reality. Design is creating something out of nothing which has an innate sense of virtual within it. Since it is a process of bringing an imagingnation or an image to life, it can be described as the realization of virtuality. there are many ways in which computer adapted methods were utilized for design up to now. With the advance of computers, the process of desinging became efficient, visually complex and much easier. Undoubtedly, computer is a powerful hardware an design and furthermore, find a way to maximize the presence and to actively incorporate this in designing. The virtual reality system can be widely applied to environmental design to provude a high quality design and enhance the feeling of reality through imitation experiments. Computer simulation such as virtual reality systems is expected to be used widely in environmental design.
