Key VOP by Shape in MPEG-4 Compressed Domain (MPEG-4 압축 영역에서 형상을 이용한 키 VOP 선정)

  • We propose a novel method of selecting key VOPs from MPEG-4 compressed domain without fully decoding the compressed data. Approximated shapes of VOPs are obtained from the shape coding mode and then VOPs are clustered by shape similarity to generate key VOPs. The proposed method reduces the computation time of shape approximation, compared with Erol's method. Nevertheless, the resulting VOPs have a good summarizing capability of a video sequence. NMHD (normalized mean Hausdorff distance) values are 2-means clustered to generate key VOPs. In the video search, the MHD of a query VOP from key VOPs are computed and the VOP with the lowest distance is returned. Tests on standard MPEG-4 test sequences show that the computational complexity is very low. Recursive clustering proved to be very effective for generating suitable key VOPs.

  • 본 논문에서는 MPEG가 비디오 스트림의 형상 정보를 클러스터링 하여 VO(Visual Object)의 동작을 요약하는 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 MPEG-4 비트 스트림의 디코딩 없이 형상 정보를 근사화 한다. 그리고 사용자가 입력한 질의 VOP(Video Object Plane)와 VO의 각 VOP와의 NMHD(Normalized Mean Hausdorff Distance)를 구한 후 클러스터링을 수행하여 키 영역을 분리해낸다. 클러스터링에 의해 시간적으로 분리된 영역의 지속성을 고려하여 Rank를 매김으로써 사용자가 원하는 수의 키 VOP를 선택할 수 있게 한다. 제안하는 방법은 클러스터링을 사용함으로써 키 VOP를 선정하였으며, Rank와 질의 VOP를 사용하여 사용자와의 상호작용이 가능하다.

Object-based Stereo Sequence Coding using Disparity and Motion Vector Relationship (변이-움직임 벡터의 상관관계를 이용한 객체기반 스테레오 동영상 부호화)

  • In this paper, we propose an object-based stereo sequence compression technique using disparity-motion vector relationship. The proposed method uses the coherence of motion vectors and disparity vectors in the left and right Image sequences. After two motion vectors and one disparity vector ate computed using FBMA(Fixed Block Matching Algorithm), the disparity vector of the current stereoscopic pall is computed by disparity-motion vector relationship with vectors which are previously estimated. Moreover, a vector regularization technique is applied in order to obtain reliable vectors. For an object-based coding. the object is defined and coded in terms of layers of VOP such as in MPEG-4. we present a method using disparity and motion vector relationship for extending two-frame compensation into three-frame compensation method for prediction coding of B-VOP. The proposed algorithm shows a high performance when comparing with a conventional method.

  • In this paper, we propose new algorithms to construct video object planes(VOP’s) for MPEG-4. VOP’s allow the new video standard MPEG-4 to enable content-based funtionalities. A comprehensive review summarizes some of the most important VOP’s generation techniques that have been proposed. The proposed algorithm use segmentation technique as labeling and motion estimation as three-step search algorithm(TSS). It is improved by a labeling technique that distinguishes background and object from a frame.

Encryption Scheme for MPEG-4 Media Transmission Exploiting Frame Dropping (대역폭 감소를 적용한 MPEG-4 미디어 전송시의 암호화 기법 연구)

  • According to the network condition, the communication network overload could be occurred when media transmitting. Many researches are being carried out to lessen the network overload, such as the filtering, load distributing, frame dropping and many other methods. Among these methods, one of effective method is frame dropping that reduces specified video frames for bandwidth diminution. B frames are dropped and then I, P frames are dropped according to dependency among the frames in frame dropping. This paper proposes a scheme for protecting copyrights by encryption, when we apply frame dropping to reduce bandwidth of media following MPEG-4 file format. We designed two kinds of frame dropping: first one stores and then sends the dropped files and the other drops frames in real-time when transmitting. We designed three kinds of encryption methods in which DES algorithm is used to encrypt MPEG-4 data: macro block encryption in I-VOP, macro block and motion vector encryption in P-VOP, and macro block and motion vector encryption in I, P-VOP. Based on these three methods, we implemented a digital right management solution for MPEG-4 data streaming. We compared the results of dropping, encryption, decryption and quality of video sequences to select an optimal method, and there is no noticeable difference between the video sequences recovered after frame dropping and the ones recovered without frame dropping. The best performance in encryption and decryption of frames was obtained when we apply the macro block and motion vector encryption in I, P-VOP.

A Robust Algorithm for Moving Object Segmentation and VOP Extraction in Video Sequences (비디오 시퀸스에서 움직임 객체 분할과 VOP 추출을 위한 강력한 알고리즘)

  • Video object segmentation is an important component for object-based video coding scheme such as MPEG-4. In this paper, a robust algorithm for segmentation of moving objects in video sequences and VOP(Video Object Planes) extraction is presented. The points of this paper are detection, of an accurate object boundary by associating moving object edge with spatial object edge and generation of VOP. The algorithm begins with the difference between two successive frames. And after extracting difference image, the accurate moving object edge is produced by using the Canny algorithm and morphological operation. To enhance extracting performance, we app]y the morphological operation to extract more accurate VOP. To be specific, we apply morphological erosion operation to detect only accurate object edges. And moving object edges between two images are generated by adjusting the size of the edges. This paper presents a robust algorithm implementation for fast moving object detection by extracting accurate object boundaries in video sequences.

Preprocessing System for Real-time and High Compression MPEG-4 Video Coding (실시간 고압축 MPEG-4 비디오 코딩을 위한 전처리 시스템)

  • In this paper, we developed a new and robust algorithm for a practical and very efficient MPEG-4 video coding. The MPEG-4 video group has developed the video Verification Model(VM) which evolved through time by means of core experiments. And in the standardization process, MS-FDAM was developed based on the standard document of ISO/IEC 14496-2 and VM as a reference MPEG-4 coding system. But MS -FDAM has drawbacks in practical MPEG-4 coding and it does not have the VOP extraction functionality. In this research, we implemented a preprocessing system for a real-time input and the VOP extraction for a practical content-based MPEG-4 video coding and also implemented the motion detection to achieve the high compression rate of 180:1.

A Study on Efficient Encryption of MPEG-4 Video File (효율적인 MPEG-4 비디오 파일의 암호화에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 MPEG-4 비디오 포맷으로 인코딩(encoding)된 미디어 데이터에 적용할 수 있는 효과적인 암호화 방법에 대해서 제안하고 실험 결과에 대하여 기술한다 MPEG-4 파일로부터 추출한 I(Intra-coded)-VOP(Video Object Plane)의 매크로 블록(Macroblock)들 중의 최소부분 암호화, P(Predictive-coded)-VOP의 움직임 벡터(Motion Vector)들과 매크로블록들의 최소부분 암호화, 그리고 마지막으로 모든 VOP들의 최소 부분 암호화와 같은 3가지 암호화 방법을 구현하고 실험하였다. 이러한 방법은 모바일 또는 유비쿼터스 환경 하에서의 상용 서비스의 디지털 저작권 관리(Digital Rights Management)를 구축하는 데에 매우 용이하고 적합하게 적용되며, 주문형 비디오 서비스(Video On Demand)와 같은 비디오 스트리밍을 위한 DRM 시스템에 최소한의 부하만을 지우도록 설계되었다 미디어 데이터의 각 VOP들의 암호화에 소요되는 시간을 측정한 결과, 이러한 방법은 상용 멀티미디어 서비스에도 충분히 적용 가능한 성능을 나타내었다.

  • This paper presents new multimedia transmission and synchronization scheme for parallel server in wireless environment. The proposed scheme is developed for the parallel sewer that stores MPEG-4 data according to VOP (video object plane) types, i.e., I-, p-, and B-VOP. The goal of our research is to develop the enhanced multimedia transmission scheme that copes with load unbalancing, congestion, and jitter. Thus, we consider three issues; the data striping, the priority queuing, and the multimedia synchronization. First, we develop a parallel server architecture in which each server separately stores video data that is striped by the MPEG-4 VOP types.

  • In this study, the effects of vascular parameter changes and electrodes on VOP measurement based on IPG were simulated mathematically. For the evaluation of the effects of hemodynamic changes on VOP, a mathematical model, which consists of cardiovascular system model and venous occlusion model, was developed and the model solution representing the blood flow and pressure in measuring point was found by 2nd order Runge-Kutta method. And, with sensitivity coefficients obtained from finite element solution of electric field in measuring point, the effects of electrode system on measurement were evaluated. As increasing the resistance, the venous capacitance was not changed but the venous outflows were decreased and the decreased compliance reduced the venous capacitance. And, for several configurations of round electrodes and band electrodes, the sensitivity coefficients were computed using the electric field distribution along deep vein. In conclusion, the proposed mathematical cardiovascular model could be applied to the simulation study on the effects of hemodynamic parameters on DVT diagnosis with IPG. And, also the sensitivity coefficients could provide effective electrode configuration for exact measurement of VOP.
