Tidal waves and the fluctuation of current are studied by use of observed data on tidal level, flow velocity and river discharge in the estuarine region of the Nakdong River. Observed data on the tidal level at five stations are used to obtain the fluctuation of amplitude and phase of tides, and the change of the wave speed versus distance from the river mouth. Comnining these tidal data with the vertical distribution of horizontal velocity data, some characteristics of the periodic tidal flow are deduced: (1)Diminishing rates of the tidal amplitude ratio η / η$\_$0/ at high tide were 0.058η$\_$0H/ /Km at neap tides. The constant of phase change, K, was 0.035rad/km. (2)While proceeding landward, the shape of the tidal wave changes from symmetrical to asymmetrical. The traveling speed of the tidal wave crest was estimated to be 3.6∼5.2m/sec, while that of the tidal wave trough was 2.4∼ 3.5m/sec. (3)The flowing speed of the water varies periodically in accordance with the tidal period. The maximum speed of landward flow appeared approximately at two hours before the high tide, while that of seaward flow at two hours before the low tide. (4)The upstream boundary is deduced approximately to be 50km at spring tide and 44km at neap tide from the tidal velocity decreasing. the tidal influence area is estimated approximately to be 65km from the tidal amplitude damping.

The aim of this study is to derive a simple formula for predicting ultimate strength of hull girders under vertical bending moment. The existing formulas have been reviewed and classified into analytical approach, empirical approach and linear approximate approach. It is known that the ship hull will reach the ultimate limit state if both collapse of the compression flange and yielding of the tension flange occur. Side shells in the vicinity of the compression and tension flanges will often fail also, but the material around the final neutral axis will remain in the elastic state. Based on this observation, a credible distribution of longitudinal stresses around the hull section at the overall collapse state is assumed, and an explicit analytical formula is derived. The accuracy of the formula has been verified by a comparison of the experimental and the numerical results.
In this paper, We are going to propose the novel structure with improved behavior than the conventional vertical structure for VLSI CMOS circuits. For this, the proposed structure is the moat shape for STI. We want to analysis the characteristics of simulations about the electron concentration distribution, oxide layer shape of hot electron stress, potential flux and electric field flux, electric field fo themal damage and current-voltage characteristics in devices. Physically based models are the ambient and stress bias conditions of TCAD tool. As a analysis results, shallow trench structure were trended to be electric functions of passive as device dimensions shrink. The electrical characteristics influence of proposed STI structures on the transistor applications become stronger the potential difference electric field and saturation threshold voltage, are decreased the stress effects of active region. The fabricated device of based on analysis results data were the almost same characteristics of simulation results data.
Electromagnetic induction surveys are one of the useful methods to detect the location and buried depth of underground utilities by measuring horizontal and vertical magnetic fields. It can effectively detects single buried utility with the accuracy of within 20 cm. However when another utility is buried near to target one, the accuracy of utility location considerably decreases due to the distortion of magnetic fields caused from adjacent utility. This study shows the ways to verify the location and buried depth of target utility when magnetic fields does not show symmetric distribution due to adjacent another utility. Using Bluetooth wireless communication tools, we developed the way to records measured magnetic fields to handheld PDA. We investigated the criteria for minimum distance of two adjacent utilities to separate the individual responses through field model test.
The vertical distribution of hydraulic conductivity of 3 boreholes located at Kongju National University was estimated by the ambient flow and the pump-induced flow measurements using a heat-pulse flowmeter. The ambient flow measurements showed that a great amount of groundwater (1~2 m$^3$/day) flowed in the boreholes through the conductive fractures. The analyzed conductivity profiles we similar to those of the packer test performed for the same boreholes. The conductive fractures in which the differential net flow changed greatly could be identified by the BIPS logging. The water-quality logging data showed that quality of groundwater changed abruptly at some depths of the boreholes. This change in water quality can be attributed to the presence of conductive fractures that have resulted in the mixing of groundwater of different quality flowing in different fracture channels. However, compared to the flowmeter test, the water-quality logging showed low capability in identifying locations of conductive fractures.

'The Ecological Forest' in Youido Park was intended to be an artificial forest in urban center, following the form of natural forests in central Korea. This study was to investigate the planting plan and the vegetation change of 'the Ecological Forest' and to compare it with natural forests of similar plant composition. The natural forests had slopes between $12^{\circ}$ and $21^{\circ}$, whereas 'the Ecological Forest' had slopes between $2^{\circ}$ and $6^{\circ}$. It was unlikely that the slope condition was adequate to show 'toposequence succession' at 'the Ecological Forest'. The soil bulk density and soil hardness of 'the Ecological Forest' were higher than those of the natural forests. The soil pH of 'the Ecological Forest' was 7.45, which was greater than that of the natural forests. There were some changes in plant composition and amounts 2 years after the construction : the number of conifers was reduced from 383 to 338 ; the number of deciduous trees was reduced from 4717 to 1158. It was because of the young trees dead in the sub-tree layer. The herbaceous species planted were 14 families, 31 species, which increased to 37 families, 93 species after 2 years. In case of horizontal structure of vegetation, trees and shrubs were distributed evenly in the natural forests, whereas 'the Ecological Forest' showed uneven distribution with higher total density. In case of vertical structure of vegetation, the natural forests had distinctive layers with dominant species distributed in each layers. In 'the Ecological Forest', however, dominant species were only in tree layer. The natural forests had greater average tree height, tree density, however, and basal area than 'the Ecological Forest'. The results showed that there were some differences in the structure between 'the Ecological Forest' and natural forests. The management plan should be applied in order that the natural condition be restored in 'the Ecological Forest' by competition between plant species and natural processes.
A radiation beam incident on an irregular or sloping surface produces the non-uniformity of absorded dose. The use of a tissue compensator can partially correct this dose inhomogeneity. The tissue compensator is designed based on the patient's three dimensional contour. After required compensator thickness was determined according to tissue deficit at $25cm\pm25cm$ field size, 10cm depth for 6MV x-rays, tissue deficit was mapped by isoheight technique using laser beam system. Compensator was constructed along the designed model using 0.8mm lead sheet or 5mm acryl plate. Dosimetric verification were peformed by film dosimetry using humanoid phantom. Dosimetric measurements were normalized to central axis full phantom readings for both compensated and non-compensated field. Without compensation, the percent differences in absorbed dose ranged as high as $12.1\%$ along transverse axis, $10.8\%$ along vertical axis. With the tissue compensators in place, the difference was reduced to $0\~43\%$ Therefore, it can be concluded that the compensator system constructed by isoheihnt technique can produce good dose distribution with acceptible inhomogeneity, and such compensator system can be effectively applied to clinical radiotherapy.
Laboratory experiments were conducted to investigate the performances of anaerobic filters packed with ceramic tube and pall-ring media treating a dairy waste. The media packing volume was 65% of effective volume of anaerobic filter. Organics removals of anaerobic filters were maintained above 80% even at an organics loading rate of $10kgCOD/m^3/d$, and this was comparable to aerobic treatment of organic wastes. Organics removals of the ceramic tube anaerobic filters were always lower than those of the pall-ring anaerobic filters due to intrinsic physical property of ceramic tube, especially lower void space which caused to clogging and entrapment of biogas, substrate transfer limitation, and irregular evolution of biogas leading to loss of solids and biomass. This was clearly observed in higher concentration of TSS in the effluent from the ceramic tube anaerobic filter despite of higher retention capacity of TSS compared with pall-ring media. Vertical distribution of organics and solids in the filters showed above 90% of organics and solids in influent were removed below 20% of reactor height, and 50% of remaining organics and solids were removed though media packing zone. Effluent quality from the anaerobic filter was heavily depended on media itself as well as suspended biomass formed below media. It is therefore concluded that the type of media played an important role in biomass accumulation arid gas-liquid-solid separation efficiency. Type of media did not affect the start-up behaviors of the anaerobic filter, and supernatant from anaerobic digested sludge showed a good performance as a seeding materials.
In this study, the effects of the inelastic shear behavior of beam-column joint and the vertical distribution of lateral load are evaluated considering higher modes on the response of RC OMRF using the pushover analysis. A structure used for the analysis was a 5-story structure located at site class SB and seismic design category C, which was designed in accordance with KBC2009. Bending moment-curvature relationship for beam and column was identified using fiber model. Also, bending moment-rotation relationship for beam-column joint was calculated using simple and unified joint shear behavior model and moment equilibrium relationship for the joint. The results of pushover analysis showed that, although the rigid beam-column joint overestimated the stiffness and strength of the structure, the inelastic shear behavior of beam-column joint could be neglected in the process of structural design since the average response modification factor satisfied the criteria of KBC2009 for RC OMRF independent to inelastic behavior of joint.

The bandwidth of microstrip slot antenna with T-shaped feed line was a wider than one of the conventional feeding structure. When the slot antenna with bi-directional radiator wants to radiate only one direction, the reflector must be set up seperately. But this antenna doesn't need set up reflector. And then we proposed to a new method of a directional slot radiator with a cross-shaped feedline including the reflector using 2-layers dielectric materials. It is calculated waves and electric field distribution in the time domain by using FDTD method. We also are calculated return loss, VSWR, input impedance, and radiation pattern in the frequency domain by Fourier transforming the time domain results, respectively. It was found that the bandwidth of this antenna changes as length($\I_s$) and width($\W_s$) of slot, length of the horizontal feedline($\I_d$), length of the vertical feedline($\I_u$) and offset sensitively. After optimizing the parameters of design, the maximum bandwidth was measured as 1,850MHz at the center frequency 2.5 GHz.
