Design and Fabrication of 2mm×2mm sized Piezoresistive Accelerometers (2mm×2mm 압저항형 가속도센서 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, $2mm{\times}2mm$ sized piezoresistive accelerometers were designed and fabricated. Two kinds of accelerometers with different spring structure are designed. One is an accelerometer with 4 beam spring located in the center of the mass, the other is an accelerometer with 8 beam spring located in the vertices of the mass. The modal analysis of the accelerometers and the structural analysis were performed using ANSYS program. The former has the superior sensitivity characteristics of $21.38{\mu}V/V/g$ and the lower offset drift of $154.45ppm/^{\circ}C$ than the latter.

Electrical Characteristics of Solution-processed Cu(In,Ga)S2 Thin Film Solar Cells (용액 공정으로 만든 Cu(In,Ga)S2 박막태양전지의 전기적 특성)

  • We investigated current-voltage (I-V) and capacitance (C)-V characteristics of solution-processed thin film solar cells, consisting of $Cu(In,Ga)S_2$ and $CuInS_2$ stacked absorber layers. The ideality factors, extracted from the temperature-dependent I-V curves, showed that the tunneling-mediated interface recombination was dominant in the cells. Rapid increase of both series- and shunt-resistance at low temperatures would limit the performance of the cells, requiring further optimization. The C-V data revealed that the carrier concentration of the $CuInS_2$ layer was about 10 times larger than that of the $Cu(In,Ga)S_2$ layer. All these results could help us to find strategies to improve the efficiency of the solution-processed thin film solar cells.

Synthesis and Characterization of Holmium Complexes Containing $\beta$-Diketonate Ligands

  • Two holmium β-diketonate complexes, Ho(hfa)3(H2O)2 (1) and [Ho(hfa)3(H2O)2](triglyme) (2), have been prepared and characterized by IR, TGA, and single-crystal X-ray analyses. These complexes show polymeric chains by the intermolecular hydrogen bondings. The donor atoms of the intermolecular hydrogen bonding in both complexes are hydrogen atoms of the coordinated water molecules. The acceptor atoms in 1 are the carbonyl oxygen atoms of β-diketonate ligands whereas those in 2 are oxygen atoms of the triglyme ligand. While compound 1 decomposes cleanly to Ho2O3, compound 2 sublimes intact. Crystal data for 1 and 2 are as follows: Ho(hfa)3(H2O)2 triclinic P1, a=10.158(4), b=11.628(2), c=12.579(6) Å, α=67.02(3)°, β=73.95(4)°, γ=76.12(2)°, V=1299.8(8) Å3. [Ho(hfa)3(H2O)2](triglyme), monoclinic P21/c, a=12.559(3), b=19.111(2), c=16.789(6) Å, β=110.59(4)°, V=3772(2) Å3.

Effect of Sintering Temperature on Electrical Stability against Surge Stress of Zn-Pr-Co-Cr-Er Oxides-based Varistors (Zn-Pr-Co-Cr-Er 산화물계 바리스터의 써지 스트레스에 대한 전기적 안정성에 미치는 소결온도의 영향)

  • This paper reports the variations of varistor voltage, nonlinear exponent, leakage current, and dissipation factor against surge stress of ZnO-P $r_{6}$ $O_{11}$-CoO-C $r_2$ $O_3$-E $r_2$ $O_3$(ZPCCE)-based varistors manufactured with the variations of sintering temperature. It was found that the variations of electrical parameters against surge stressing current of 100 A/$\textrm{cm}^2$(8x20 ${\mu}\textrm{s}$) is not so large under the surge stress of 700 times. Among varistors, specially the varistor sintered at 134$0^{\circ}C$ exhibited the smallest variations, with %$\Delta$ $V_{lmA}$=+0.23%, %$\Delta$$\alpha$=+0.23%, %$\Delta$ $I_{L}$=0%, %$\Delta$tan$\delta$=-6.94%. The clamping voltage ratio( $V_{c}$/ $V_{lmA}$) of all varistors was less than 2.2.2.2.2.2.2.

SPC/F2 Water Model의 온도변화에 따른 물 분자의 양자효과 비교 : 분자동력학 모의실험

  • 본 연구의 목적은 $SPC/F_2$ water model에 대하여 정해진 여러 온도(250K, 280K, 300K, 350K)에서 경수(light water)와 중수(heavy water)의 일정부피 열용량($C_V$)을 계산하는 것이다. 모의실험은 path integral molecular dynamics (PIMD) 방법을 바탕으로, 계산상에서 물 분자 64개에 대해서 실제 물의 밀도에 맞는 일정한 부피를 설정한 후, 이 때 ring-polymer의 bead수는 양자효과를 보일 수 있는 24개와, 양자효과가 없는1개로 실험을 진행했다. 그 결과로 system의 $C_V$를 얻었고, 수소 동위원소의 변화, 온도의 변화, 양자조건의 여부에 따라 나타나는 차이를 각각 비교했다. 모의실험 결과로 온도가 낮을수록, 양자효과가 클수록, 수소의 질량이 작을수록 열용량이 증가하는 결과를 보였다.

Estimation of the Convective Boundary Layer Height Using a UHF Radar (UHF 레이더를 이용한 대류 경계층 고도의 추정)

  • The enhancement of the refractive index structure parameter $C_n^2$ often occurs where vertical gradients of virtual potential temperature ${\theta}_v$ and mixing ratio q have their maximum values. The $C_n^2$ can be a very useful parameter for estimating the convective boundary layer(CBL) height. The behavior of $C_n^2$ peaks, often used to locate the height of mixed layer, was investigated in the present study. In addition, a new method to determine the CBL height objectively using both $C_n^2$ and vertical air velocity variance ${\sigma}_w$ data of UHF radar was also suggested. The present analysis showed that the $C_n^2$ peaks in the backscatter intensity profiles often occurred not only at the top of the CBL but also at the top of a residual layer or at a cloud layer. The $C_n^2$ peaks corresponding to the CBL heights were slightly lower than the CBL heights derived from rawinsonde sounding data when vertical mixing owing to weak solar heating was not significant and the height of strong vertical ${\theta}_v$ gradients were not consistent with that of strong vertical q gradients. However, the $C_n^2$ peaks corresponding to the CBL heights were in good agreement with the rawinsonde-estimated CBL hegiths when vertical mixing owing to solar heating was significant and the vertical gradient of both ${\theta}_v$ and q in the entrainment zone was very strong. The maximum backscatter intensity method, which determines the height of $C_n^2$ peak as the CBL height, correctly estimated the CBL height when the $C_n^2$ profile had single peak, but this method erroneously estimated the CBL height when there was a residual layer or a cloud layer over the top of the CBL. The new method distinguished when there the CBL height from the peak due a cloud layer or a residual layer using both $C_n^2$ and ${\sigma}_w$ data, and correctly estimated the CBL height. As for estimation of diurnal variation of the CBL height, the new method backscatter intensity method even if the vertical profile of backscatter intensity had two peaks from the CBL height and a residual layer or a cloud layer.

Cryopreservation of Somatic Embryos of Soapbeny (Sapindus mukorossi Gaertn.) by Vitrification

  • Somatic embryos do not survive at exposure to liquid nitrogen temperatures without cryoprotective treatments. A simplified technique which simultaneously induces and cryoprotects embryogenic calli using plant vitrification solution 2 (PVS2) followed by dehydration was developed for the cryopreservation of Soap berry genetic resources. Vitrification is a way of removing the moisture in vegetation through PVS2. The PVS2 vitrification solution consisted of 30% glycerol (w/v), 15% ethylene glycol (w/v), 15% Dimethylsulfoxide (w/v) in B5 medium containing 0.4M sucrose. Two tests were done. The one was to eliminate moisture at $0^{\circ}C$ and the other at $25^{\circ}C$. In both cases the best results came out at a vitrification time of $10{\sim}20$ minutes. It was also found that the survival rate was higher at $0^{\circ}C$ than at $25^{\circ}C$. In particular, the survival rate reached more than 80%. Water-damaged embryos turned brown and stoped growth, but energetic embryos took on a milky hue and show a very vigorous growth rate. Successful cryopreservation of somatic embryos of soapberry can be used to establish in vitro genebanks for long-term conservation of Soapberry genetic resources to complement field genebanks and other in vitro methods already being used.

  • To enhance the capability of starch fermentation of the transformant TSD-14, the heat treated protoplasts of TSD-14 were fused with the protoplasts of C. tropicalis (lys$^-$) in the presence of 30% (w/ v) PEG and 20 mM CaC1$_2$. Fusants were selected by nutritional complementation on minium medium and the fusion frequency was 4.4$\times$10$^{-5}$. All fusants tested were possessed of complemented traits concerning carbon compound assimilation, and the cell volumes of the fusants were approximately 1.5 times larger than the parental strains. The fusants were genetically very stable, and were able to hydrolyze alpha 1,4-glucosidic linkage as well as alpha 1,6-linkage of starch contrary to one of parents TSD-14, The most promising fusant FSC-14-75 produced 8.7% (v/v) of ethanol from 15% liquefied potato starch medium, but the result was enhanced to 9.3% (v/v) by addition of 0.3% peptone. The corresponding fermentation efficiency was 86.0%.

Electrical Conduction Mechanism of AIN Insulator thin Film Fabricated by Reactive Sputtering Method for the Application of MIS Device (반응성 스퍼터링으로 제조한 MIS 소자용 AIN 절연박막의 전기전도 메커니즘)

  • We have studied the variable conditions of reactive sputtering to prepare AM thin film. The leakage current showed below $10^{-9}A/cm^2$ at the deposition temperature of $250^{\circ}C\;and\;300^{\circ}C$ in the field of 0.1 MV/cm, and it was gradually increased and to be saturated in 0.2 MV/cm. The C-V characteristics of the above mentioned deposition temperature conditions showed a deep depletion phenomenon at inversion region. The C-V characteristics showed similarly under the DC power conditions of 100 and 150 W but were degraded at 200W. When the DC power was 100, 200, and 300 W the dielectric breakdown phenomenon was shown in 2.8, 3.2 and 5.2 MV/cm, respectively. It was found that AIN film was dominated by Poole-Frenkel conduction mechanism.
