Jeju Island is seeking reliable ways to secure alternative water resources using rainwater in order to conserve and manage its groundwater as sustainable water resources. The purpose of this study is to investigate the rainwater storage capability of small-size storage facilities installed at farmhouses in Uigwi and Wimi of Namwon-eup region. The rainwater outflows from the storage facilities in rain events were analyzed. The appropriate size of rainwater utilizing facilities are suggested to be about 5,800 ㎥ in Uigwi area and 4,900 ㎥ in Wimi area based on the calculation from the rainfall frequency and runoff amounts. If those facilities are put into operation in Uigwi and Wimi area, it is estimated approximately 32.3 and 11.5% of total agricultural water can be supplied by the facilities. Wimi area showed low rainwater usage because of less number of facilities relative to the size of farm areas and less intensive underground water usage. It is analyzed that more than 55% of agricultural water can be supplied by rainwater if 70 facilities without the rainwater facilities are connected to the rainwater utilizing facilities.

Effects of temperature on the gorwth characteristics and the chemical composition of pseudomonas cells grown under glucose-or methanol-utilizing continuous culture were studied. In a glucose-utilizing continuous culture, optimum dilution rate, agitation, pH, and temperature, for the higher biomass yield were $0.45hr^-$, 7000rpm, pH 7.5, and $30^{\circ}C$, respectively. But in a methanol-utilizing continuous culture, they were $0.125hr^-$, 600rpm, pH 8, and $30^{\circ}C$, respectively. In methanol-utilizing continuous culture, the maximum production rate of the cells was 1.48g, dry wt./1/hr at a dilution rate of $0.45hr^-$, and the cell yield was 0.46g. dry wt./g. glucose. In the methanol-utilizaing continuous culture, the maximum production rate of the cells was 0.33 7g. dry wt./1/hr. at a dilution rate of $0.125hr^-$ and the cell yield was 0.44g dry cell/g. methanol. The contents of protein of the cells increase with the increase ingrowing temperature (from 15 to $30^{\circ}C$), more or less, while the contents of RNA nad carbohydrate of the cells decreased. However, DNA contents of cells growth under the various temperature ranges didn't change. As the temeprature of cultivation rises at a constant dilution rate, the efficiency of RNA in protein synthesis was increased, showing the decreases in the ratio of RNA to protein.

As the superiority of Hangeul becomes known globally, design products utilizing a Hangeul motif are gaining attention in international markets. Accordingly, the interest in Hangeul typography is also increasing. Visual and formative designers are actively developing typographies, as typographies have limitless development potential as a type of formative expression for communication. Accordingly, this study will encompass the spirit, value and beauty of Hangeul in fashion design. The purpose of study is to demonstrate how to express the greatest amount of the beauty of the Korean language for the general public and how to utilize such expressions in various areas. The detailed content of this study is as following. First, the functionality and expression characteristics of typography will be understood by exploring the concept of typography and reviewing the design cases utilizing typography. Second, cases that utilized Hangeul typography will be reviewed and their types and issues will be identified. Third, the design direction will be set based on above exploration. Finally, four design works utilizing Hangeul typography will be suggested as the study result. Accordingly, this study applied Hangeul typography on the shirt design and attempted to contribute to the practical use of Hangeul in everyday living through design products.

With the advancement of information and communications technologies and the universal dissemination of smartphones, ICT-utilizing education is also getting the limelight. In the recent ICT-utilizing education, teachers and learners produce massive digital data by consulting massive information on the Internet, and the produced data is filtered in the process of education and utilized for the current and next educational programs. In order to construct the data well-suited for education from massive data available on the Internet, it is important to verify the quality of the educational data. To this end, we propose an educational website that can provide the data satisfying visual needs demanded by learners in terms of utilizing a digital curation system. In this paper, we also present a design and implementation of the website that non-ICT majors can easily use, which in turn enables them to conduct the education of creative personality utilizing image and video contents.

A series of numerical simulations on the several types of breakwaters on the foundation systems utilizing buoyancy were carried out in plane-strain conditions using the modified Cam-Clay model and the Biot's consolidation theory. Improved foundation system by the replacement of original ground with light weighted material, expandable poly-styrene (called below EPS) and several foundation systems with buoyant cells were used. From the results of numerical simulations we found that the foundation systems utilizing buoyancy are efficient to reduce the maximum consolidation settlements without reducing lateral safety.

This study examined the effects of reflective writing activities utilizing environmental related mass media. Two classes participated as an experimental group (n=31) and a control group (n=30). Both groups of students learned five different topics on environment, such as diversity of ecosystem, global warming, desertification, reduction of the amount of carbon, and eco-friendly behavior. The experimental group students was taught utilizing mass media about each topic and had opportunities of reflective writing about each topic, while the control group of students was taught through lectures. The results indicated that students in the experimental group represented significantly better scores on environmental worldview, environmental sensitivity, and eco-friendly behavior compared to the control group students (p<.01).

Based on the importance and the necessity of the study on history of mathematics and mathemtics education using history of mathematics for finding the cultural identity and values of our traditional mathematics, we refer to two types of teaching and learning methods utilizing 'WonYongSamBangHoGu', the second theme of 'SanSulGwanGyeon' written by Lee Sang Hyuk. First, we present various cases of 'WonYongSamBangHoGu' constructed utilizing kind of mathematics learning software, GeoGebra by high school freshmen belonging to the Education Centers for the Gifted in Seoul Science Park. Second, We modernly reinterpret the questions contained in 'WonYongSamBangHoGu' and show several developed items using it.

This study investigated the effect of educational intervention utilizing fairy tales on young children's creativity and pro-social behaviors. Participants were 40 five-year-old young children. Fairy tale books were read to the experimental group and were adapted for various educational intervention activities but the control group participated only in standard child care center themes without educational interventions. Results showed significant differences between experimental and control groups in creativity and pro-social behavior. Findings confirmed that educational intervention utilizing fairy tales is an effective means for enhancing creativity and pro-social behavior in young children.

The SVDD(support vector data description) is one of the most well-known one-class support vector learning methods, in which one tries the strategy of utilizing balls defined on the kernel feature space in order to distinguish a set of normal data from all other possible abnormal objects. The major concern of this paper is to consider the problem of modifying the SVDD into the direction of utilizing ellipsoids instead of balls in order to enable better classification performance. After a brief review about the original SVDD method, this paper establishes a new method utilizing ellipsoids in feature space, and presents a solution in the form of SDP(semi-definite programming) which is an optimization problem based on linear matrix inequalities.

The purpose of this study was to improve academic achievement and mathematics learning attitudes in the formative assessment using descriptive problems as an effective teaching method. In this paper we set the following research questions. First, how would you improve students' academic achievement utilizing descriptive evaluation? Second, how would improve students' mathematics learning attitudes utilizing descriptive evaluation? Third, what was the reaction utilizing the descriptive method to evaluate? The result of this study could be seen as follows. The experimental group than the control group on academic achievement shows a significant improvement. Second, the experimental group compared to the control group in mathematics learning attitude changes could be helpful and appreciated. Third, experimental group than in the control group indicates significance could be seen in the reaction.
