  • The range of use of drones is gradually expanding from military to commercial applications. In the field of agriculture, there have been many studies to utilize drones, but there have been relatively few efforts to utilize drones in the marine and fisheries sectors. In this paper, we propose drones and system requirements for marine and fisheries applications. Marine and fisheries monitoring using drones is expected to be more effective and cost effective than existing methods.

  • CD1 molecules belong to non-polymorphic MHC class I-like proteins and present lipid antigens to T cells. Five different CD1 genes (CD1a-e) have been identified and classified into two groups. Group 1 include CD1a-c and present pathogenic lipid antigens to ${\alpha}{\beta}$ T cells reminiscence of peptide antigen presentation by MHC-I molecules. CD1d is the only member of Group 2 and presents foreign and self lipid antigens to a specialized subset of ${\alpha}{\beta}$ T cells, NKT cells. NKT cells are involved in diverse immune responses through prompt and massive production of cytokines. CD1d-dependent NKT cells are categorized upon the usage of their T cell receptors. A major subtype of NKT cells (type I) is invariant NKT cells which utilize invariant $V{\alpha}14-J{\alpha}18$ TCR alpha chain in mouse. The remaining NKT cells (type II) utilize diverse TCR alpha chains. Engineered CD1d molecules with modified intracellular trafficking produce either type I or type II NKT cell-defects suggesting the lipid antigens for each subtypes of NKT cells are processed/generated in different intracellular compartments. Since the usage of TCR by a T cell is the result of antigen-driven selection, the intracellular metabolic pathways of lipid antigen are a key in forming the functional NKT cell repertoire.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose application methods for the globalization of Korean Uniforms. This study examined the Korean uniforms currently at home and abroad, and focused on the development and usage of uniforms that promoted the Korean image. Study results have shown that a variety of Korean uniform design have been developed through contests, design research. Even though these designs are being sold, its use has been limited. The most popular uniforms worn in Korean restaurants do not reflect the latest fashion trend. In order to utilize and globalize Korean uniform design, following steps need to be taken: first, the communication between uniform designers, researchers developing the Korean uniform design and uniform users needs to exist. Second, Korean uniforms should be utilized in more diverse and effective areas to better promote the Korean image. Third, a platform that has access to a design database needs to be produced to utilize the already developed designs and pay royalties.

  • The 7th curriculum sets a basic direction based on learner centered teaching. To this end, the curriculum puts a focus on activity centered classes using teaching tools. In reality, however, elementary school teachers find using the teaching tools in their classes difficult, although there are various studies going on to improve the practical use of the teaching tools in the classroom. In this paper, we present an effective approach to utilize those prior studies on using the teaching tools in classes for 4th, 5th and 6th graders.

  • Molecular imaging provides a visualization of normal as well as abnormal cellular processes at a molecular or genetic level rather than at a anatomical level. Conventional medical imaging methods utilize the imaging signals produced by nonspecific physico-chemical interaction. However, molecular imaging methods utilize the imaging signals derived from specific cellular or molecular events. Because molecular and genetic changes precede anatomical change in the course of disease development, molecular imaging can detect early events in disease progression. in the near future, through molecular imaging we can understand basic mechanisms of disease, and diagnose earlier and, subsequently, treat earlier intractable diseases such as cancer, neuro-degenerative diseases, and immunologic disorders. In beginning period, nuclear medicine started as a molecular imaging, and has had a leading role in the field of molecular imaging. But recently molecular imaging has been rapidly developed. Besides nuclear imaging, molecular imaging methods such as optical imaging, magnetic resonance imaging are emerging. Each imaging modalities have their advantages and weaknesses. The opportunities from molecular imaging look bright. We should try nuclear medicine continues to have a leading role in molecular imaging.

  • Low-grade heats are wasted even though an amount of their energy is huge. In the small and medium industrial complex sites, large amount of low-grade thermal energy generated during the manufacturing process is wasted if it is not used directly for building heating or air-conditioning. In order to utilize this waste thermal energy more efficiently, organic Rankine cycle (ORC) was adopted. The range of operating temperature of ORC was set to $60^{\circ}C$ from $30^{\circ}C$ applicable low-temperature waste heat. A study was conducted to select an appropriate organic working fluid based on these operating conditions. More than 60 working fluids were screened. Eleven working fluids were selected based on the requirements as working fluid for ORC such as environmentally friendly, safety, and good operation on the expander. Finally, six working fluids were selected by considering the operating temperature ranges. Then, a cycle analysis was conducted with these six working fluids. As a results, R-245fa and R-134a appeared as appropriate working fluids for ORC operating at low-temperature condition based on the system efficiency and the turbine output power.

  • For linear IC design, one has to know the epi thickness, resistivity, and structure of buried island inserted between epi and substrate because the mask structure can only be changed for linear IC consisted of various type of transistors to be made for desired specific function. The interrelation of IC operational and saturation voltages with epi resistivity, theckness and divice structure are studied and presented in graphic forms so that IC design engineers can utilize them.

  • The experiment was conducted to investigate the physiological characteristics on 16 Isolates of bacterial wilt pathogen, pseudomonas solanacearum E.F. Smith, those obtained from infected stems of tomatoes, hot-Peppers and eggplants. PSA and Sucrose medium favoured by the most of the isolates, and various degree of gelatin liquefaction occurred by each of nine isolates those alble to liquefy gelatin among 16 isolates tested. The most of the isolates except one, did not reduce methylen blue. All isolates did not utilize lactose, saccharose, and starch, although all isolates utilize the galactose. The utilization of dextrin, esculin, glucose, mannitol, raffinose and salicin was depended on each isolate.

  • While single-user spatial multiplexing multiple-input multiple-output (SU-MIMO) allows spatially multiplexed data streams to be transmitted to one node at a time, multi-user spatial multiplexing MIMO (MU-MIMO) enables the simultaneous transmission to multiple nodes. However, if the transmission time required to send packets to each node varies considerably, MU-MIMO may fail to utilize the available MIMO capacity to its full potential. The transmission time typically depends upon two factors: the link quality of the selected channel and the data length (packet size). To utilize the cumulative capacity of multiple channels in MIMO applications, the assignment of channels to each node should be controlled according to the measured channel quality or the transmission queue status of the node.A MAC protocol design that can switch between MU-MIMO and multiple SU-MIMO transmissions by considering the channel quality and queue status information prior to the actual data transmission (i.e., by exchanging control packets between transmitter and receiver pairs) could address such issues in a simple but in attractive way. In this study, we propose a new MAC protocol that is capable of performing such switching and thereby improve the system performance of very high throughput WLANs. The detailed performance analysis demonstrates that greater benefits can be obtained using the proposed scheme, as compared to conventional MU-MIMO transmission schemes.

  • As the networks proliferate all over the world and the application of the geographical information increase recently, the importance of effective access and exchange of GIS data is recognized. However, existing GIS data are generated by many different organizations without proper standard methodologies and data exchange facilities such as clearing houses are being operated on different DBMS with their own schemata. It makes difficult for users to access and utilize the GIS data even the data are open to public. In this research, we provide the users a search system that interfaces heterogeneous repository systems. In order to interact heterogeneous DBMS we utilize the metadata interchange standard (XMI) from OMG.
