A Study of New Transformerless Utility Interactive Inverter for Photovoltaic System (절연변압기를 생략한 새로운 계통연계형 햇빛발전시스템 고찰)

  • This paper describes a new inverter active inverter between a photovoltaic(PV) array and single-phase utility that avoid the bulky input(60Hz) transformer on the AC side. The interface employs a pwm boost converter on the DC side followed by a pwm boost converter on the DC side followed by a pwm current-forced single-phase rectifier for injecting the power from the PV array into the mains. The current waveform at the AC side remains sinusoidal and exactly in phase at all time. The circuit also has the advantage of requiring fewer switching device than high-frequency link system. This paper describes modeling of PV array and new system topology. Simulation results on the performance of the connection are also presented.

  • Solar power systems have become popular in the modem electric energy system. In order to supply the DC power, generated by solar cells, to the electric power system, the solar power system requires DC-to-AC power conversion. A line-commutated inverter or a forced-commutated inverter can be used in the DC-to-AC power conversion. Because of the nonlinear V-I characteristics of the solar cells, multiple operating points determined by the control mode of the inverter exist in the DC V-I state plane of the solar power system. In this paper, the stability of utility-interactive solar power system with a line-commutated inverter is analyzed at various operating points, using the eigenvalue method and the state-plane analysis technique. The stability of a forced-commutated inverter case is also anaiyzed and compared to that of the line-commutated inverter case.

  • This paper analyzes the characteristic of utility connection type solar power generation system which it is available to connect the utility. And the operation characteristic of this system is compared and analyzed when it is operated in the real system. The constructional and operational problem were obtained by that result. Overcoming that defect is that finding the proper place to be well operated and to find the best place for getting the sunshine data. This method could increase the efficiency of the generation system. And more, current OS in operating system and monitoring management couldn't solve the problem so that improving OS and constructing data backup system should be implemented, This paper proposes the plan to solve that defect in the real system.

  • In this paper, we compose of the single current source inverter for utility interactive photovoltaic system. According to insert parallel resonant circuit, the do reactor decreases the distortion of dc current and output current. Therefore, we decrease the do reactance and control modulation factor to operation at the maximum power point around of solar cell.

  • In this paper, a new line-commutated SCR inverter for renewable power generation system is proposed. The proposed inverter system includes a 6-pulse SCR inverter and an auxiliary circuit. By the proper operation of the auxiliary circuit, the pulse number of the inverter system is increased and the output harmonic currents are reduced. Analysis, control and simulation for 24 pulse operation of the proposed scheme is presented and the experimental results will be provided in the final paper.

  • Prevention of the islanding phenomena is one of the most important issues because it can damage electrical equipment connected to the utility system and endanger human life. It is very difficult to detect an islanding condition of a power distribution line with conventional voltage of frequency relays, while the output power and the load power of utility interactive PV inverter units are in nearly balanced state in both active power and reactive power. This paper describes the protective equipment that prevents the PV system connected to the utility grid from starting islanding. Both predictive ocntrol method and harmonic injection method are used for a current control and islanding detection for operating safety.

  • In this paper, we composed of utility interactive pv generation system of voltage source inverter, and represented uninterrutible power supply (UPS) equipment maintaining constant voltage, using a pulse width modulation(PWM) voltage fed inverter, as power source disconnection, voltage variation and output current variation with load variation. This system is driven by being synchronized voltage fed inverter and AC source, and in the steady state of power source charge battery connected to dc side with solar cell using a photovoltaic (PV) that it was so called constant voltage charge. In addition, better output waveform was generated because of PWM method, and it was proved to test by experiment maintained constant output voltage regardless of AC source disconnection, load variation, and voltage variation of AC power source.

  • The paper proposes a new protection algorithm for reliable operation of grid-interfaced PV system, which can flexibly interact with conventional protective schemes of power utility grid not only to prevent damages to utility or public persons and utility apparatus caused by malfunction or failure in distribution network protection system, but also to protect a PV system itself from faults or abnormal conditions of the network. The proposed algorithm is based on reclosing characteristics of the distribution system. As a network fault occurs, the new scheme determines whether it is momentary or permanent and responds in a pre-programmed way to the fault. For permanent outage, the proposed algorithm shuts down inverter's operations but monitoring system voltage and frequency at the point of common coupling with grid. When it comes to the momentary outage, Inverter starts stand-by operation mode so that it can be automatically connected to the grid without start-up procedures as soon as the system voltage and frequency returns into the normal operation range. In order to investigate' and evaluate the PV system operation, simulation study based on PSCAD/EMTDC has been carried out to verify the performance of the proposed protection scheme.

  • This paper describes Transformer-less type utility interactive system that is combined with buck/boost chopper applying partial resonant method, which remove Transformer, and high efficient PWM inverter. Therefore, it is possible to make it lightweight, to cut down the cost, and to improve its reliability. What the merits of this system are that we can transmit arbitrary power arbitrary power to load and utility regardless of generating voltage magnitude of solar cell and we can always obtain high factor controlling by equal phase signal with utility.

  • This paper presents a Photovoltaic Generation system using a Space Vector Modulation. PWM voltage source inverter using inverter consists of complex type of electric power converter to compensate for the defect, that is solar cell cannot be developed continuously by connecting with the source of electric power for ordinary use. It can cause the effect of saving electric power, from 10 to 20[%]. Synchronous signal and control signal was processed by the 56F8323 microprocessor for stable modulation. Also, Waveforms output current and voltage of system controlled so that phase conforms and can supply electric power that stabilize by the unit power factor.
