  • The importance of communities of practice(CoP) as an organizational informal unit for fostering knowledge transfer and sharing gains a lot of attention from KM researchers and practitioners. Since most of CoPs are formulated online these days, the credibility or trustworthiness of knowledge contents circulated within a certain CoP should be considered thoroughly for them to be fully utilized safely. Here comes the need for an appropriate trust measuring methodology to determine the true value of knowledge given by unknown people through an online channel. In this paper, an improved trust measuring method is proposed using new trust variables such as level of degrees derived from the relationships among community users. In addition, activeness, relevance, and usefulness of the knowledge contents themselves, which are calculated automatically using a text categorization technique, are also used for trust measurement. The proposed framework incorporates fuzzy set and calculation concepts to help build trust matrices and models, which are used to measure the level of trust involved in specific knowledge artifacts concerned.

  • Blog have become very popular with Internet users as one of the latest forms of online communication as well as knowledge sharing tools. However, blogs generate growing concerns regarding information privacy issues. This study, based on social exchange theory, presents results about bloggers' information sharing behavior. The 157 surveys are collected from a large university in the eastern U.S. The survey results indicate that trust which has four second order factors: economy based trust, trust in reciprocity, trust in other bloggers and trust in social interaction positively affects bloggers' information sharing behavior. However, online information privacy concerns have a negative impact on the relationship between trust and bloggers' information sharing behavior.

  • There is a need for research to identify the integrated, rather than fragmented, factors that determine users' acceptance of Internet shopping. Using the newly revised technology acceptance model (TAM) as a theoretical framework, this study investigates the effect of a set of information systems quality (information quality and system quality) and trust on intention to use Internet showing through perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Using structural equation modeling, the results strongly support the utilization of TAM in predicting users' intention to use Internet shopping, and demonstrates the effects of critical external variables on behavior intention through perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Systems quality such as response time, accessibility, and usability has significant effects on perceived ease of use of Internet shopping. Futhermore, trust has also a significant effect on perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, intention to use Internet shopping, and actual usage of Internet shopping. Based on these results, this study suggests managerial implications of new Internet shopping strategies, focusing on the integration of information systems quality and trust in order to achieve sustainable competitive advantage in Internet shopping.

  • Purpose Internet only bank is one of the promising untact businesses which are rising in COVID-19 pandemic. Kakaobank and Kbank have been offering banking services since 2017 in Korea and WeBank and MYbank in China opened the services since 2015. It is necessary to examining determinants of customer loyalty beyond intention to use. The purpose of the present study is to analyze factors influencing customer loyalty and their determinants. A research model integrating the relationships among customer loyalty, service satisfaction, trust, and social influence, and their determinants was proposed. Design/methodology/approach Structural equation modelling for validating the research model was employed. 235 valid data were collected from users of Internet only bank in China. Nine latent variables grouped from 38 indicators were reliable and valid and nine hypotheses were tested by using SmartPLS. Findings All nine hypotheses were supported at significant levels of 0.001 and 0.01. Trust, service satisfaction, and social influence had influenced on customer loyalty. Trust not only affected customer loyalty directly, but also had influence on it indirectly through service satisfaction. Empathy and convenience are determinants of trust. Perceived expertise and dispositions believing acquaints had a positive influence on social influence, whereas users' anxiety for technology or change had a negative influence on social influence. Implications for academics and practitioners were suggested.

  • Cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) is considered as a powerful approach to improve the utilization of scarce radio spectrum resources. However, most of CSS schemes assume all secondary users (SU) are honest, and thus offering opportunities for malicious SUs to launch the spectrum sensing data falsification attack (SSDF attack). To combat such misbehaved behaviors, recent efforts have been made to trust schemes. In this paper, we argue that powering CSS with traditional trust schemes is not enough. The rational SSDF attack is found in this paper. Unlike the simple SSDF attack, rational SSDF attackers send out false sensing data on a small number of interested primary users (PUs) rather than all PUs. In this case, rational SSDF attackers can keep up high trustworthiness, resulting in difficultly detecting malicious SUs in the traditional trust schemes. Meanwhile, a defense scheme using a novel trust approach is proposed to counter rational SSDF attack. Simulation results show that this scheme can successfully reduce the power of rational SSDF, and thus ensure the performance of CSS.

  • This study examines this intriguing idea In the context of the E-commerce involved in inquiring and purchasing books on the internet. Survey data from 154 potential users support and offend this hypothesis. The data show that both familiarity with an internet vendor and its processes and trust in the vendor influenced the respondent's intentions to inquire about books, it is primarily people's dispositions to trust that affected their trust in the vendor. The data support the basic assumption of the study both trust and familiarity influence E-commerce. Also, the study show that both trust in a Internet vendor and familiarity with the vendor and its procedures influence two distinct aspects of I-commerce intentions in book selling sites: inquiry and purchase. The influence if familiarity and trust are strong on people's intentions to purchase. The study show that trust and familiarity are distinctly different constructs, and that trust is significantly affected by familiarity, and not only by people's disposition to trust. The research model thus shows both trust and familiarity influence behavioral intentions. In this study, familiarity was introduced primarily as an antecedent of trust, while its role in increasing I-commerce was not as emphasized as that of trust. However, the importance of familiarity might be greater: familiarity influences both purchase intentions and inquiry intentions only slightly less than trust does.

  • When people try to find restaurant information via search engine results, they look at posts not only from sites with solely restaurant reviews but also from sites with restaurant unrelated contents. This study aims to investigate whether relevance between post and blog type affects users' trust toward a review. This study also attempts to check if the above effects interact with age. We designed a restaurant review post for two different blogs: one featuring restaurant review and another that does not feature restaurant reviews. After our participants visited one restaurant review post, they answered our questionnaire. We conducted an online survey on 206 participants to test our research model. Results show that 1) the effect of relevance between post and blog type on message credibility, which is users' trust toward restaurant reviews, is not greater when posts are consistent with the theme of a blog. 2) Among users who are over 30 years old, relevance between post and blog type moderates the relationship between media skepticism, which is users' feeling of mistrust toward blog, and belief in expertise, that is, users' belief that the review post provides sufficient restaurant information. 3) Users' perceived value of the restaurant review post mediates the relationship between users' belief in the expertise in a post and users' intention to seek additional information.

  • The social network service is the bidirectional media that many users can build relations not only friends but also other people. However, a process to approach in the social network is so simple that untrustable information, which malignant users make, is spreaded rapidly in many the social network uses. This causes many users to suffer material or psychological damages. Because of openness in the social network, there will be higher risk of the privacy invasion. Therefore, sensitive information should be transferred or provided only to reliable users. In general, because many users exchange among one hops, many researches have focused on one hop's trust evaluation. However, exchanges between users happen not only one joint bridege but also far nodes more than two nodes on account of dense network and openness. In this paper we propose the efficient scheme combining transitivity and composability for remote users.
