The purpose of this study is to examine how the floor heating system is affecting to users in childeren's libraries. This study included the method that extracts the affordance of the floor heating system, after surveyed using behavior in children's libraries and referred to J. J. Gibson's affordance and surface concepts. As the positive affordance, it was grasped that the floor heating system promotes social relationships and affords various surfaces for library using, but also as the negative affordance, that hinders users in the public usings and the behaviors for reference and using. The behaviors of these various characters can be regarded as life behaviors resulted from the sitting life style and the natural using behavior can give to children emotional rest and autonomous reading experience. For the function as the children's library, the learning of sociality in the public building and the various reading space, the space planning of children's library should be done after the positive and negative affordances extracted from this study are reflected. The guidelines for space planning are summarized as the followings: the layout of book furniture, the shoe chest and the space around that, the furniture hight and children's eye level, and the practical using of the table for sitting life style.

본 연구의 목적은 대학도서관 이용자의 도서관 이용행태를 분석하여 대학도서관 공간 활용의 효율성을 제고하는 데 있다. 도서관 이용행태를 분석하기 위해 본 연구는 이용자들이 직접 자신들의 행동을 기록하는 다이어리 기법을 이용했다. 총 108명이 참여를 했고 이들 중 84명이 다이어리를 작성했다. 제출된 다이어리 중 내용을 충실히 작성한 14명의 참여자와 도서관 이용행태, 이용시 문제점 및 요구사항 등에 대한 인터뷰를 진행했다. 다이어리와 인터뷰 분석결과, 공간계획 측면에서 이용되지 않은 공간이나 기기들의 이용률 향상을 위한 방안마련과 서가 브라우징을 통한 정보접근 향상을 위한 방법을 제안했다. 또한 도서관 이용시간 분석을 통해 학생들의 이용행태 및 이용률 제고 방안을 논의했다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest methods for the community design through users' behavior study in apartment housing. This study was approached by using both theoretical investigation and empirical research. The theoretical investigation actualized the concept of community design in apartment housing through a literature survey. The empirical survey focused on seeking out a user-oriented design criteria based on the analysis of residents' usage behavior and mental map. The results of this study are as follow: First. regarding the analysis of the residents' attitude toward the share community space(SCS), it was found that the SCS made a sense as community facilities in apartment housing. Second, regarding the SCS through the metal map, it was shown that the sketch map analysis was a useful research method for the community design by actualizing the residents' behavior characteristics. Third. as to the results of analyzing the metal map, it was found that the considered characteristics in recognition of the SCS were related to the liking with the main paths, cross nodes of the moving line, the location of center. and the complexity. In conclusion, the SCS is the main of community design in apartment housing and the above characteristics in recognition are useful as the guidelines in the SCS planning.

Researching behavior of users in public library is very important processing and their activities can be judged with the regard of required inner spaces and related those functions. The subject of this study is to examine the organization of inner spaces in public library and to propose the prototype of space composition in public library on the future. Not only the relation of space program of each library but also the network among public libraries are not connected efficiently. That's why the public library is not used as local cultural place. Usually, the organization of inner spaces has not been recognized and approached satisfactorily. As the result of the above researching, the function of the culture facilities should be connected to the open study-room which now using just for study. It will make users to recognize and approach public library easily.

The ultimate goal of this study can be summed up as follows: First, the utility of Time-Lapse that observes and records people's behavior will be shown and its merits and demerits will be discussed through comparing with other data-collecting methods such as the naked- eye observation, and the specific way in which Time-Lapse can be put to use will be suggested. Second, analysis of use behavior boserved in the plaza of Chungryangri station by Time-Lapse will be made, on the basis of which suggestions will be made concerning planing, designing, layout, and management of the station plaza. Time-Lapse can observe and records the plaza of Chungryangri Staton through 6 different ways of recording in Time-Lapse: 30 seconds, every minute, every two minutes, second every five minutes, every one tenth of a second, and every one fifth of a second, and these different ways of recording were analyzed through comparison from one to each other to check their respective utilities. And also analysis of tracks of pedestrians, density, and use behavior of users were made, according to which the way in which Time-Lapse can be utilized was examined. Several useful results obtained from this study are shown as follows. First, Time-Lapse made it possible to continuously observe for a long time using minimu efforts, and a single tape which is able to cover from 12 hours up to 25 days is useful for observing variation of behavior in space with the passage of time and seasons. Second, among six ways of recording, the recording every one tenth of a second and every one fifth of a second are useful for finding the tracks of pedestrians, the number of users, the member compositions, the time spent in one place, and manner of use. And besides the moving direction and its purpose can be recognized in a short time, which makes it possile to see where crossings of moving directions occur. Third, the recording every thirty seconds, every minute, every two minutes, and every five minutes are useful for analyzing the density in space as well as for finding the number of users and frequency of facilities use. In particular the recording every thirty seconds made it possible to keep the track of pedestrians' walking, and to observe even slowly moving motions such as cleaning. But when the recording interval exceeds one minute, this was not possible. Fourth, time-lapse has advantages over the naked eye observation in several respects. Time-lapse can measure observed behavior and density in terms of number, and locate the position of users. Time-Lapse, if accompanied by other methods such as interviewing and question that can examine psychological aspects like satisfaction or the purpose of use and be a useful device for space studies.

The purpose of this study was to investigate using behavior and spatial composition of activity room in skilled nursing facilities for the elderly and to provide basic information about its space planning. The design guidelines for activity room were as follows. First, the plan of activity room is based on the use of once to twice per week and for 30 minutes per use, and is mainly for the human knowledge and art programs. Second, all cases of the same and different floor of the individual room could be considered as its location. Third, the area is recommended at least more than 6 square meters per person including participating elderly, staff, furniture, equipments and restroom. Fourth, the furniture of activity room include the shelves, table for at least 8 persons with enough knee space, wheel, and stack chairs. Toilets and water closet should be arranged for the emergency, and the windows to the hall and curtain door need to be avoided for soundproofs and easy accessibility of wheelchair users.

The meaning and role of public space has existed based on the periodical situation like history. The more the time has passed, the faster the meaning of it has changed. We can see the differences of it from the one which used to be. This study is about Platoon Kunsthalle which is so-called the complex cultural space. The purpose of this study is to show how the user is related to the program for the planning of the public space. It is based on the procedure of the research with absorbing the place. The people who are using the space are absorbed for knowing the user's action. And then, the specific actions are written and the status of the using space is photographed. The research is based on asking and answering about that. The result of this study is as follows : The first is that young people between 20's and 30's are using a hall comparing with other age through daily using of space and features of users. Also, Using between 7p.m. and 9p.m., a dinnertime, takes the first place and using of meals and beverages is major at lunch due to restaurant and bar. User behavior of "sitting" is the biggest part and the hall is used for the public purpose connected with "talking". The second is that the daily hall space is classified with the spacial area indirectly based on the condition. Also, it depends on the time and the using. The third is that the unusual hall space is depended on the program which is the role of leading the extention of using the space. That is why the program is important because it is effected directly to the way of using the space and the place of the furniture. I am looking forward that this study is the basic data for the planning of the public space in the complicated culture.

과거에는 단순한 생리처리 및 위생공간이었던 욕실에 대한 기능이 현대에 들어서는 생활의 활력을 충전하고, 자신만의 욕구와 실현의 공간으로써 활용되는 다기능 공간화 되어 가고 있다. 이러한 의식주에 대한 소비자들의 새로운 욕구와 변화가 나타나면서 현재 '욕실' 공간에서의 행위와 요구사항을 파악할 필요성이 높아져 가고 있다. 많은 수의 한국인들은 욕실사용에 있어서 서양의 입식(立式) 샤워 방식 외에도 욕조 밖이나 대야 등에 물을 받아 사용하는 등의 욕실사용 행태를 나타내고 있다. 따라서 이와 같은 한국인의 독특한 욕실사용행태를 설계에 반영함으로써 한국인의 욕실문화가 고려된 욕실구조 도출이 가능할 것이다. 본 연구는 욕실공간에 대한 사용 만족도를 높이기 위해 한국인의 욕실사용 정황과 사용 중에 느끼는 불편함과 종합적 감정 등을 조사하여 욕실 사용자의 요구사항을 도출하며, 욕실 공간계획에 있어서 건강, 위생문제를 해결하는 공간이자, 현대인의 신체특징과 라이프스타일이 반영 가능한 기본적인 설계지침 도출을 연구목표로 하고 있다.

Rapid changes to the paradigm of smart media have created a communication environment through merging with various media such as IoT technology, which is internet of things. Among them, user' need for a start home, which is one of people living conditions, has been growing and values of the communication environment in a living space using a smart mirror have been growing. However, studies on figuring out behavior and analyzing needs of family members who actually use the living space are insufficient. This study is to draw the service system of the home smart mirror by analysis of behavior and needs of users of the living space. For a research method for analysis of behavior of family members, I wrote two kinds of user's experience maps, which are frequency of use of a quantitative space of a living space and space's important value scales by persona study and depth interview. Through this, applied spaces of the home smart mirror (living room, bathroom, powder room, dress room, porch, kitchen, room) and the types of user needs (type of providing information, entertainment type, control type, service type) have been drawn and statistical analysis methodology has been utilized for a research of user preferences in regard to correlation between living spaces and types of user needs based on a survey. As a result of analysis of ages and gender, types of user needs by space have been drawn and the service system of the home smart mirror has been drawn. It would be utilized as a basic material for various contents development and design using the smart mirror in the future.
