  • BRIS has been established by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs since 2011 under Article 21 of the Act on the Preservation, Management and Utilization of Agricultural Life Resources. It is an information service that provides information related to agricultural life resources in connection with the Rural Development Administration, the Forest Service, and Korea Seed & Variety Service, Agricultural Resources and Agricultural and Livestock Quarantine Headquarters. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how the users assess the information system quality (information quality, system quality) for the current Bio Resource Information Service (BRIS). Ultimately, the structural equation modeling analyzes the causal relationship between each variable and how it responds to the user's continuous use intention. As a result, information quality among information system quality and information quality among system quality used as the main variables for the evaluation of BRIS were statistically positively influenced by users' perceived usefulness, while system quality It has been analyzed to have a positive effect on the sustained use intention. The user's continuous use intention is positively influenced by the information system quality and perceived usefulness at a statistically significant level. Especially, the perceived usefulness plays a role in mediating the user's continuous use intention.

  • This paper proposes an intelligent technique for data sharing and event transition among personal devices including smart phones, laptops, and desktops. We implemented the PES (Personal Event Service) system that proactively executes appropriate tasks across multiple devices without explicit user requests by sharing the data used by the user and recognizing user intention based on the observed actions of the user for specific devices. The client module of PES installed on each device monitors the user actions and recognizes the intention of the user. The server provides data sharing and maintenance for clients. The connection between client and server is established by Java RMI (Remote Method Invocation). A series of experiments were performed to evaluate user satisfaction and system accuracy, and the results showed that the PES system can proactively provide appropriate, personalized services with a high degree of satisfaction to the user in an effective and efficient manner.

  • Augmented reality (AR) is the technology in which a virtual image made by computer is integrated with the real world. Food is one of the most popular products purchased online. In this study, we investigated how the presentation of food images with AR affects purchase intention and user engagement. We hypothesized that purchase intention was increased more by AR food images than by static food images. We also examined whether user engagement mediates the relationship between image presentation format and purchase intention. To test this hypothesis, participants in one group saw AR food images, and participants in another group saw static food images on an iPad. All participants then answered questions about user engagement and purchase intention. As predicted, participants who saw an AR food image reported higher user engagement and higher purchase intention than did those who saw a static food image. The indirect effect of user engagement was also significant, and the link between image presentation format and purchase intention was fully mediated by user engagement. We also found that aesthetic appeal, one of the sub-factors of user engagement, fully mediated the link between image presentation format and purchase intention. Thus AR images of food images were aesthetically more appealing, which led to higher purchase intention. These findings suggest that AR technology can be used effectively as a way to advertise food.

  • The development of service-based software and web-based application aims for providing user-demand service. On-demand software is emerging for same reason. Software delivery models like on-demand software is expected to change the software industry as an important technical revolution with the firm's strategy. Few research, however, has been done on the on-demand software. While much research on ASP and SaaS focused on firm' use, this study intends to examine the intention of using on-demand software targeting personal user. The intention to use of on-demand software was empirically examined in terms of quality, user characteristics, usefulness, easy of use, and security. Results shows that usefulness and easy of use are most significantly related to the intention of using on-demand software. Other factors are also found to affect the intention to use of on-demand software. This study contributes to improve the understanding and interest in on-demand software and it is expected to spread widely for individual user.

  • Nowadays, openness and accessibility of information systems increase security threats from inside and outside of organization. Appropriate password is supposed to bring out security effects such as preventing misuses and banning illegal users. This study emphasizes on choosing passwords from perspective of information security and investigated user's security awareness affecting behavioral intention. The research model proposed in this study includes user's security belief which is influenced by risk awareness factors such as information assets, threats and vulnerability elements. The risk awareness factors ale derived from risk analysis methodologies for information security. User's risk awareness is a factor influencing the security belief, attitude toward security behavior, and security behavioral intention. According to the result of this study, while vulnerability is not related to the risk awareness, information assets and threats are related to the user's risk awareness. There is a significant relationship between risk awareness and security belief. Also, user's security behavioral intention is significantly affected by security attitude.

  • Chart suggestion method provided by various existing data visualization tools makes chart recommendations without considering the user intention. Data visualization is not properly carried out and thus, unclear in some tools because they do not follow the segmented quantitative data classification policy. This paper provides a guideline that clearly classifies the quantitative input data and that effectively suggests charts based on user intention. The guideline is two-fold; the analysis guideline examines the quantitative data and the suggestion guideline recommends charts based on the input data type and the user intention. Following this guideline, we excluded charts in disagreement with the user intention and confirmed that the time user spends in the chart selection process has decreased.

  • Given the prevalence of home trading systems, it has become important to examine user behaviors in a stock investment environment. In this vein, this paper developed an integrated model to deeply understand the key determinants of user's continuance intention to use investment information through constructs prescribed by incorporating trust and perceived risk into expectation-confirmation model. The proposed research model was tested by using survey data collected from 160 users who have experience with stock investment. PLS (partial least squares) was employed for the analysis of the data. The findings of this study showed that the proposed framework provides a statistically significant explanation of the variation in continuance intention to search investment information. The findings revealed that trust and perceived risk are more prevalent predictors of continuance intention to use investment information compared to perceived usefulness. It was also found that user satisfaction serves as the salient antecedents of continuance intention to use investment information. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings were described.
