과업의 불확실성이 최종사용자컴퓨팅 특성과 최종사용자의 만족도에 미치는 영향

  • The main objective of this paper is analyzing the effects of task uncertainty on EUC characteristics and end user satisfaction. Task uncertainty were identified as an important determinant of EUC characteristics. And the moderating effect of task uncertainty on the relationship between EUC characteristics and end user satisfaction was suggested. A field study was undertaken to test the hypothesized relationships among task uncertainty, EUC characteristics, and end user satisfaction Data were collected from 138 end-user of 19 Korean business organizations. The empirical results indicated that task uncertainty was significantly related to EUC characteristics and that task uncertainty had significant effect on the relationship between EUC characteristics and end user satisfaction. Implications and future research directions are drawn for the management of EUC and for further research on EUC.

User Perceptions of Uncertainty in the Selection of Information Retrieval System: Implications for System and Service Improvement

  • While numerous studies have suggested the significance of uncertainty during the process of information-seeking, less research has investigated user uncertainty in the actual search process using a real system. This study investigated user perceptions of uncertainty in the process of the selection of information retrieval system in the real information-seeking process. Considering the role of commercial Web search engines as supplementary tools for traditional bibliographic databases in academic research environments, this study analyzed the selection behavior of scholarly researchers, who use such search tools for their academic study. The researchers were limited to the discipline of science in order to understand user perceptions in this field. The findings revealed various dimensions, types, and incidents of uncertainty. Variations appeared in different incidents of uncertainty relating to the unique characteristics of the subjects' information-seeking context. The identification of three principal origins of uncertainty based on the different types of uncertainty generated implications to improve information systems and services.

  • 다수의 연구에서 정보추구 과정상 불확실성(Uncertainty)의 중요성이 지적되었지만, 실제 정보검색시스템을 이용한 탐색과정에서 이용자들의 불확실성에 대한 연구는 많지 않았다. 본 연구는 실제로 정보를 추구하는 이용자들의 웹 검색어 선정과정에서의 불확실성 인식을 조사하여, 정보탐색 과정에서의 다양한 불확실성 유형을 식별하였다. 불확실성 유형에 입각하여 발견된 불확실성의 주요 원인(Origins)은 정보검색시스템 및 서비스 발전을 위한 시사점을 제시하여준다.

Energy-Efficient Power Control for Underlaying D2D Communication with Channel Uncertainty: User-Centric Versus Network-Centric

  • Most existing resource management problem models arise from the original desire of allocating resources in either a user-centric or network-centric manner. The difference between their objectives is obvious: user-centric methods attempt to optimize the utility of individual users, whereas network-centric models intend to optimize the collective utilities of the entire network. In this paper, from the above two aspects, we analyze the robust power control problem in device-to-device (D2D) communication underlaying cellular networks, where two types of channel uncertainty set (e.g., ellipsoidal and column-wise) are considered. In the user-centric method, we formulate the problem into the form of a Stackelberg game, where the energy efficiency (EE) of each user is the ingredient of utility function. In order to protect the cellular user equipment's (CUE) uplink transmission, we introduce a price based cost function into the objectives of D2D user equipment (DUE). The existence and uniqueness of the game with the influence of channel uncertainty and price are discussed. In the network-centric method, we aim to maximize the collective EE of CUEs and DUEs. We show that by the appropriate mathematical transformation, the network-centric D2D power control problem has the identical local solution to that of a special case of the user-centric problem, where price plays a key role. Numerical results show the performance of the robust power control algorithms in the user-centric and network-centric models.

  • While considerable research suggests that users' uncertainty gradually decreases, as they proceed through the information seeking process, others argue that it can arise at any stage of their information seeking process. Reflecting the latter view, this study examined user perceptions of uncertainty in the final stage of users' information seeking process, the stage of search results evaluation. Considering the significance of Web search engines for academic study, this study investigated the relevance decision stage of scholarly researchers in the field of science, who use Web search engines for their academic study. Based on the analysis of the users' uncertainty, this study provided implications to improve information systems and Web contents design.

지능형로봇 행동의 능동적 계획수립을 위한 온톨로지 기반 사용자 의도인식 (Ontology-based User Intention Recognition for Proactive Planning of Intelligent Robot Behavior)

  • 사용자의 행동에 따른 의도 인식의 불확실성 때문에 사용자가 동일한 행동을 하더라도 상황에 따라 그 의도는 다르게 해석되며, 불확실성을 최소화함으로써 사용자 의도 인식의 정확성을 향상 시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자 의도 인식을 위한 온톨로지 기반의 새로운 방법을 제안하고, 불확실성을 최소화하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 사용자 의도에 대한 온톨로지를 생성하고, 사용자 의도간 계층적 구조와 관계를 RuleML과 동적 베이지안 네트워크를 이용해서 정의하며, 온도, 습도, 시각 등의 수집된 센서 데이터와 정의된 RuleML을 통해 사용자 의도 인식을 보다 정확하게 하는 것이다. 로봇의 능동적 계획수립 방법의 성능을 평가하기 위해 시뮬레이터를 개발했고, 밝생 가능한 모든 상황에 대해 의도인식의 정확도를 측정하는 실험을 했으며, 이에 대한 결과를 제시하였다. 실험결과 비교적 높은 수준의 의도인식 정확도를 나타냈다. 그러나 불확실성을 내재한 행동이 보다 정확한 의도 인식을 방해한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Entropy-based Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio Networks in the Presence of an Unauthorized Signal

  • Spectrum sensing is a key component of cognitive radio. The prediction of the primary user status in a low signal-to-noise ratio is an important factor in spectrum sensing. However, because of noise uncertainty, secondary users have difficulty distinguishing between the primary signal and an unauthorized signal when an unauthorized user exists in a cognitive radio network. To resolve the sensitivity to the noise uncertainty problem, we propose an entropy-based spectrum sensing scheme to detect the primary signal accurately in the presence of an unauthorized signal. The proposed spectrum sensing uses the conditional entropy between the primary signal and the unauthorized signal. The ability to detect the primary signal is thus robust against noise uncertainty, which leads to superior sensing performance in a low signal-to-noise ratio. Simulation results show that the proposed spectrum sensing scheme outperforms the conventional entropy-based spectrum sensing schemes in terms of the primary user detection probability.

요구사항 불확실성, 통제 표준화, 상호작용이 소프트웨어 품질에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Requirement Uncertainty, Control Standardization, Interactions on Software Quality)

  • Risk management or risk-based approach of software project management was developed to explain the effects of requirement uncertainty, control standardization, interactions on software quality. Based on a prior theory, five hypotheses were derived and empirically tested using a survey design. Data from 117 members in 3 SI companies support for the path model, and three of five hypotheses. The results showed that decreases in requirement uncertainty and increases in control standardization were directly associated with increases in the interactions between user and project teams, which, in turn, led to increases software quality. The findings suggested that the direct effect on software quality is primarily due to the interactions between user and project teams, rather than requirement uncertainty and control standardization.

  • Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Denpasar City still face low mastery of technology and financial management, one of which is the application of technology-based accounting information systems (e-commerce) for small and medium enterprises. The research objective was to determine the relationship between environmental uncertainty, trust and ease of information technology moderating behavior in accounting information systems. Research with a quantitative approach, the method used is multiple linear regression with moderated regression analysis. The study population was 816 small and medium enterprises. The sampling method technique was the incidental sampling approach and the Slovin formula so that a sampling of 100 small and medium enterprises that had used e-commerce was determined in the city of Denpasar. The results of research that have been conducted determine the relationship between user behavior in accounting information systems that affect individual performance, the relationship between environmental uncertainty affects accounting information systems mediated by individual performance, while the ease of information technology and its ability to be mediated by individual performance has an effect on the behavior of using accounting information systems. The application of accounting information systems in small and medium enterprises is expected to improve individual performance so as to increase income.

사용자 선호도 기반의 퍼지 랭킹모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fuzzy Ranking Model based on User Preference)

  • A great deal of research has been made to model the vagueness and uncertainty in information retrieval. One such research is fuzzy ranking models, which have been showing their superior performance in handling the uncertainty involved in the retrieval process. In this study we develop a new fuzzy ranking model based on the user preference. Through the experiments on the TREC-2 collection of Wall Street Journal documents, we show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional fuzzy ranking models.
