  • Incident management is significant far the traffic management systems. The management of incidents determines the smoothness of freeway operations. The dynamic nature of incidents and the uncertainty associated with them require solutions based on the incident operator's judgment. Fuzz systems attempt to adapt such human expertise and are designed to replicate the decision making capability of on operator. Fuzzy systems process complex traffic information, and transmit it in a simplified, understandable form to human traffic operators. In this study, fuzzy rules were developed based on data from real incidents on Santa Monica Freeway in LosAngeles. The fuzzy rules ail linguistic based, and hence, user-friendly. A comparison of the results from the linguistic model with the real incident durations indicate that the outputs from the model reliably correspond to real incident durations conditions. The model reliably predicts the freeway incident duration. The modes can thus be used as an effective management tool for freeway incident response systems. The approach could be applied to other problems regarding dispatch systems in transportation.

  • In order to treat a disease, it is necessary to take the medication on time, but many people often violate or forget the time they take the medicine. Applications are emerging to solve these problems using information technology. However, for existing applications, it is difficult to use because it provides only a notification functions, user interface is inconvenient, and photo registration of the medication is impossible. To solve these problems, the study developed a smart medicine management application that allows users to set up their taking routines, check if they are taking them, search hospitals and pharmacies, and attach images of medicines they are taking. Through this appliaction, it is possible to reduce the frequency of forgetting the time taken and to take accurate medication by checking the actual image. It also supports the setting of a taking routine to support multiple medications with different taking cycles. It can also provide information about hospital and pharmacies close to their current location to increase access to hospital and pharmacies.

  • Recently, explosion of internet user requires fundamental changes on the architecture of Web service system, from single server system to clustered server system, in parallel with the effort for improving the scalability of the single internet server system. But current cluster-based server systems are dedicated to the single application, for example, One-IP server system. One-IP server system has a clustered computing node with the same function and tries to distribute each request based on the If to the clustered node evenly. In this paper, we implemented the more useful application service platform. It works on shared clustered server(back-end server) with an application server(front-end server) for a particular service. An application server provides a particular service at a low load by itself, but as the load increases, it reconfigures itself with one or more available server from the shared cluster and distributes the load on selected server evenly We used PVM for an effective management of the clustered server. We found the implemented application service platform provides more stable and scalable operation characteristics and has remarkable performance improvement on the dynamic load changes.

  • The goal of the present study is to identify the topic trend in the field of library and information science in Korea. To this end, we collected titles and s of the papers published in four major journals such as Journal of the Korean Society for information Management, Journal of the Korean Society for Library and Information Science, Journal of Korean Library and Information Science Society, and Journal of the Korean BIBLIA Society for library and Information Science during 1970 and 2012. After that, we applied the well-received topic modeling technique, Latent Dirichlet Allocation(LDA), to the collected data sets. The research findings of the study are as follows: 1) Comparison of the extracted topics by LDA with the subject headings of library and information science shows that there are several distinct sub-research domains strongly tied with the field. Those include library and society in the domain of "introduction to library and information science," professionalism, library and information policy in the domain of "library system," library evaluation in the domain of "library management," collection development and management, information service in the domain of "library service," services by library type, user training/information literacy, service evaluation, classification/cataloging/meta-data in the domain of "document organization," bibliometrics/digital libraries/user study/internet/expert system/information retrieval/information system in the domain of "information science," antique documents in the domain of "bibliography," books/publications in the domain of "publication," and archival study. The results indicate that among these sub-domains, information science and library services are two most focused domains. Second, we observe that there is the growing trend in the research topics such as service and evaluation by library type, internet, and meta-data, but the research topics such as book, classification, and cataloging reveal the declining trend. Third, analysis by journal show that in Journal of the Korean Society for information Management, information science related topics appear more frequently than library science related topics whereas library science related topics are more popular in the other three journals studied in this paper.

  • The purpose of this paper is to provide a search system using a method of accessing the web in real time without using a database server in order to guarantee the up-to-date information in a single network, rather than using a plurality of bots connected by a wide area network Design. The method of the research is to design and analyze the system which can search the person and keyword quickly and accurately in crepe system. In the crepe server, when the user registers information, the body tag matching conversion process stores all the information as it is, since various styles are applied to each user, such as a font, a font size, and a color. The crepe server does not cause a problem of body tag matching. However, when executing the crepe retrieval system, the style and characteristics of users can not be formalized. This problem can be solved by using the html_img_parser function and the Go language html parser package. By applying queues and multiple threads to a general-purpose web crawler, rather than a web crawler design that targets a specific site, it is possible to utilize a multiplier that quickly and efficiently searches and collects various web sites in various applications.

  • Quite many papers about moving objects database (MOD) have been Published. Most of them are concerning of improving efficiency of updating policy, but none of them talks about verification of system's requirements. No matter how efficient updating policy is employed, a system designer still has to verify if the MOD satisfies user's requirement at the beginning of system lifestyle. For example, if a MOD serves n moving objects, then the designer must verity if it can update information for n moving objects and provide new information to moving objects within specified time limit. For the purpose of requirement analysis of MODs, we build a Petri net model for MOD using Design/CPN, and then we show how to verify whether the MOD satisfies user's requirements by simulation. The contribution of this paper is providing a simulation model for requirement analysis of MOD for the first time. The model is expansion of our previous fuzzy-timing Petri net model. The distance-based updating policy, and distributed database management system are reflected in this model and system analysis for moving objects is considered. It is built in Design/CPN so that the simulation can be automatically performed. The application of our model is not limited to requirement analysis, it is useful to study other MOD design issues, such as the trade-offs between update cost and information accuracy, and between the tim interval needed for updating database and MOD system resources, etc.
