Path loss plays fundamental roles in system design, spectrum management, and performance evaluation. The traditional path loss model has a slight inconvenience; it depends on the unknown distance. In this letter, we explore the probability distribution function (PDF) of path loss in an indoor office environment by randomizing out the distance variable. It is shown that the resulting PDF is not Gaussian-like but is skewed to the right, and both the PDF and the moments are related to the size of the office instead of the unknown distance. To be specific, we incorporate the IEEE 802.15.4a channel parameters into our model and tabulate the cumulative distribution function with respect to different room sizes. Through a simple example, we show how our model helps a cognitive spectrum user to infer path loss information of primary users without necessarily knowing their transmitter-receiver distance.

본 연구에서 구축된 디지털도서관의 프로토타입은 디지털 리포지토리, 필터, 색인 및 검색, 클라이언트의 간단한 구조로 되어 있다. 디지털 리포지토리는 여러 가지 유형의 문서유형과 다양한 형태의 데이터베이스로 구성된다. 필터는 다양한 문헌의 포맷을 인식하고 문헌각각의 조직적인 요소를 지능적으로 구분하는 역할을 수행한다. 본 시스템은 관계형 데이터 베이스 관리시스템인 ORACLE과 ConText를 이용하여 구성되었으며 새로운 객체의 분석 및 조직화, 색인기술의 적용을 용이하게 처리할 수 있다.

The changes of internet environment have made services through web application server (WAS) popular. Accordingly, technical difficulties in identifying users who access databases through WAS were incurred. In order to solve these problems, many companies adopt an agent-based approach for identifying users by installing additional software on WAS. However, this approach must submit to some disadvantages in terms of cost, maintenance, and development process. In this paper, we devise an non-agent based approach for identifying database users in 3-tier environments.

We address an integrated multimedia framework based on a software agent platform for context-aware multimedia computing. We adopt the FIPA (Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents) platform which provides agent communications and management mechanisms. In order to express context information, we use MPEG-21 metadata for describing user characteristics and usage environment. We encapsulate such context information as a FIPA message to be delivered between agents. Based on context information, appropriate multimedia content delivery becomes possible. We present our system implementation with a use case scenario and show that our proposed framework is effective for context-aware multimedia computing so that personalization of multimedia consumption can be possible.

보안업무는 모든 군 업무를 최상위 수준에서 관할하는 업무이다. 하지만 지금까지 전산화를 이루지 못한 문제점을 갖고 있었다. 본 논문은 군 보안업무 전산화를 위해 개발 중인 보안업무 관리 시스템의 사용자 요구사항 분석과정을 다룬 것이다. 보안업무 관리 시스템의 요구사항 분석을 위해 객체 모델링의 쓰임새를 이용한 분석방법론을 적용하여, 사용자 요구사항 정의에서 시나리오 작성까지의 과정을 통해 적절히 요구사항을 분석함으로써, SMS의 시스템 모델을 제시하고 요구사항 분석에서 쓰임새 중심의 유효성을 증명하였다.

본 논문은 다양한 인터넷 컨텐츠를 제공하는 시스템에서 XML문서를 이용한 사용자 프로필 생성 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 본 시스템은 구매와 같은 하나의 트랜잭션이 발생하기 전에 사용자 구매 패턴을 분석하기 위해서 필요한 프로필을 정의하는 모듈과 이를 적용한 사용자 프로필 생성 모듈로 구성되어 있다. 프로필 정의 단계에서는 XML의 DTD를 이용해서 사용자 프로필 규칙을 정의하고 저장한다. 그리고 사용자 프로필 생성 모듈에서는 트랜잭션이 일어날 때 발생되는 XML문서를 파싱해서 XPath형태로 저장되어 있는 규칙 리스트에 적용한 후 필요한 XML문서의 요소 값들을 이용해서 사용자 프로필을 생성한다. 또한 추가적인 장점으로는 하나의 복잡한 모듈이나 패키지로만 제공되어지는 규칙을 사용하지 않고 관리자나 사이트를 운용하는 운영자가 직접 규칙을 정의하고 규칙에 대한 설명을 통해서 자신의 환경에 맞는 사용자 프로필에 대한 정보 추출 및 CRM(Customer Relationship Management)을 지원 할 수 있다.

그리드 컴퓨팅을 실현하기 위해서는 Virtual Organization을 구성하는 개인, 기관, 그리고 자원 등의 동적인 집합에 대해 유연하고 안정적이며 통합된 자원의 공유를 구현해야 한다. 이를 위해 해결해야 할 많은 과제들 중에는 인증과 권한 부여가 있으며 이 두 가지는 단일시스템의 계정관리에 속한다. 현재 그리드 컴퓨팅을 실현하기 위한 많은 middleware들 중에서 확고한 위치를 차지하고 있는 Globus Toolkit은 grid-mapfile을 이용하여 정적인 사용자 계정관리를 하기 때문에 동적 특성을 가진 그리드 컴퓨팅에는 적합하지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 그리드 컴퓨팅을 위한 사용자 계정관리시스템에 대한 기존의 연구를 토대로 그리드 사용자 계정관리시스템을 Globus Toolkit 3.2를 기반으로 설계하였다.

사물인터넷 기술을 이용한 서비스 형태는 셀 수 없이 많으며, 현재도 여러 기관에서 다양한 서비스를 제공하기 위해 새로운 기술이나 프로토콜을 만들어 내고 있다. 본 논문은 사물인터넷 서비스 접근제어를 위한 시스템에서 효율적인 서비스 제공을 위한 리소스 서비스 모델을 설계하고 구현한다. 사용자가 접근하고자 하는 리소스 서비스를 LCRS(Left Child-Right Sibling) 트리를 이용하여 모델링하고, 리소스 서비스 토큰을 이용하여 서비스에 대한 접근 제어를 수행할 수 있다.

This paper presents a method of an automatic work time evaluation based on the verification of a disassemblability and assembly configuration. Even though a work time evaluation is an important field of concern for planning assembly lay-out, there are some limitations using cumbersome user query or approximated work time data without considering assembly condition. To overcome such restriction, this paper presents a method to mathematically verify assembly conditions based on the disassemblability, which is defined by the separability and stability cost. The separability cost represents a facility of the part disassembly operation, and the stability cost which represents a degree of the stability for the base assembly motion. Based upon the results, we propose a new approach of evaluating work time using neural networks. The proposed method provides an effective means of solving the work time evaluation problem and gives a design guidance of planning assembly lay-out in flexible manufacturing application. Example study is given to illustrate the concepts and procedure of the proposed schemes.

최근 자동화 시스템의 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그중에서도 홈오토메이션의 가장큰 특징은 전자 자동기기 등이 주가 되는 가사의 관리를 자동화 하는 것이다. 사용자의 현재 상황 및 선호도 등의 정보를 이용하여 서비스를 사용자에게 제공하는 개인화 서비스는 사용자 프로파일에 따라 차별화 되어서 제공되어 진다. 하지만 현실상의 사용자 프로파일을 수집하기에는 어려움이 따르기 때문에 본 논문에서는 개인화 서비스를 효과적으로 지원할 수 있도록 가상의 사용자 프로파일을 다루는 사용자 프로파일 생성기 데이터베이스를 설계 및 사용자프로파일 생성기를 구현하였다.
