Design is one of those elements to create an artificial environment, improving human life. It also signifies some concrete work and plan for better life in the present environment, and it is even believed to be an act of consideration for the sake of human beings. This consideration design would be included to design which deals not only with truths and values being demanded in a new era but also with various users, and it is design that attaches values to behaviors of the users, searching for new values while studying user-centered behaviors. It is regarded as a part of the consideration design in that it is able to make plans and extract design factors using affordance while it helps any users to use as considering the user-centered behaviors. Design factors of such affordance has been inherited and developed from the Bauhaus principle, and the spirit of Bauhaus is believed to have a great influence on contemporary furniture design while being a matrix of modern design. A follow-up study will look into backgrounds and cases of social design, one of those consideration design factors, while proposing directions on how to develop contemporary furniture design.

This paper presents an u-health Care system based on context-awareness information. Extended project induced an education for creative engineering design. It could occur one of the issue for life care or wellness in recently life. Especially u-health Care system help on achieving this object as an efficient care-training with user blood pressure or with echocardiogram, electromyogram, electroencephalogram, or Electrocardiography. In this paper, development project show an u-health care system based on this parameters of the context-awareness with network service and analysis provide with working memory(DB) for user data base applications.

The use of IoT (Internet of Things) is rapidly expanding to enhance the quality of life as seen in the interconnection between mobile devices and Web. This paper proposes an embedded system that connects sensors and mobile devices via IoT technology, improving the user's ability and service experience to remotely control the home appliances with mobile-detection features. Home appliances are expected to increase labor efficiency by utilizing the embedded system connected to the sensors. Using mobile applications to control home appliances remotely and to monitor operation status advances the user's knowledge, experience, and perspectives to experience refined life qualities.

In accordance with recent highly advanced economic growth, the demand of leisure life is quite increasing, and also the increase of nature-friendly leisure with health-pursuing concept where human -being enjoys pleasant environment, is to me said as one of recent social traits. Accordingly, it is research the present situation and characteristic of the popularized housing-type accommodating facility, and then this study has discussed on the method how to plan the interior space of such facility to meet with environmental -friendly peculiarity and the object for health enhancement. At first, the program which applied the sustainable design techniques should be preceded, and when planning of interior space, the management method and space planning on the facility and the system should be properly considered in order to enhance the user's health. So to speak, in order to keep and promote the space user's health, those proposing methods such as the followings have been suggested likely as, consideration regarding to air-ventilation and lighting, usage of environmental-friendly material, use of life drainage, custom-typed plane planning, utilization of balcony space, storing furniture and systemization of kitchen space, themed bathroom, inducement of indoor-gardening, and so on. It is expected that this could be applied very usefully to the space plan of the small-scaled housing-type accommodation under planning to develop or renovation.

This study aims to investigate the usage patterns of users in Social Network Services (SNS) where is an upsurge. Specifically, the paper considers the reason why young people more and more prefer online (or mobile) SNS activities rather than offline face-to-face social relationship. Furthermore, the drivers which affect SNS usages are considered from users' personal characteristics and social influences. User's personal characteristics include their personalities (extraversion and introversion), narcissism, and life satisfaction. Social influences involve subjective norm, visibility, and image. Affected by personal and social factors in SNS, users intend to show positive self-presentation, which refers to a behavior to selectively expose his/her goodness to others. As one of the most influential drivers affecting SNS usage, the positive self-representation has an effect on the level of SNS usage. Thus, this paper suggests the hypothesized research model focusing on positive self-representation in the relationship among personal characteristics, social influence, and user's behavior in SNS. Empirical data analysis with 100 questionnaires suggests that all hypotheses were adopted except for the effect of visibility among social influence factors on positive self-representation.

The purpose of the study is to establish sustainability evaluation items that can be applied to enhance clothing sustainability practice. The sustainability evaluation items related to clothing by product category, use, and disposal were derived through literature review. In order to evaluate the validity of the derived evaluation items, preliminary survey and two questionnaires were conducted for experts, and the importance and the possibility of change were measured. As a result, 39 evaluation items were constructed. Among the 39 evaluation items, 26 items related to the use and disposal were evaluated for 10 weeks in the 20s and 30s female consumers in terms of practice. The results of the study are as follows: First, items that have a high degree of importance and possibility of change are the items that can minimize resource saving, recycling, and the emission of harmful substances. Second, the participants' perceptions, attitudes, and outcomes of practicing the evaluation items of the use and disposal phase were proved to be positively affected, and the possibility of reducing resource saving and environmental impacts was proved. The clothing sustainability practice played a positive and developmental role in real life, while changing from small things to pursuing newness. The vagueness of sustainability was changed to specific perceptions and behaviors through the practice of the evaluation items.

As the market for life friendly ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) services has grown up, high tech elevator with IoT (Internet of Things), a key area of the fourth industry, have become an indispensable part of life. Existing elevators are composed of up and down buttons to conveniently climb up and down high rise buildings, but there is a small inconvenience that everyone experiences depending on the characteristics of the user's composition, types of use, frequency, etc. Existing elevators are automatically closed if there are no people within the range of sensors, but they are inconvenient for the passengers with disabilities to carry luggage or to use. In this paper, the smart button, a hardware firmware device, was designed to relieve user inconvenience by opening the elevator for a certain period of time considering the boarding time of the passengers.

The change from people's work-centered values to their leisure-centered values leads into the change in their life styles. In the circumstance, people's participation into sports activities seems to be an important means to improve their quality of life. Along with the change of the times, more people take part in water leisure sports including kayak. As a result, people's needs for various designs of water leisure goods are on the rise. In this sense, it is necessary to come up with strategies to actively respond to such a change. In this paper, we proposed a user decision-making support system for designing kayaks for leisure. Based on the previous studies and literatures and a questionnaire survey with consumers, it chose the sensitivity related to design. By conducting factor analysis and evaluation, it drew sensitivity and proposed kayak design layouts in the aspect of customer sensitivity preference. It is expected that the result of this study will be used not only for kayak design, but as a design guide for the equipment of water leisure sports, and will be applied for user-friendly design.

The purpose of this study is to explain the benefits of public libraries in Korea. While many studies had focused on measuring the economic value, this study sought to investigate how do user benefits from public library service and how are these benefits associated with major demographic factors. The questionnaire was developed by two question formats, which is open-ended and 5 Likert scale on 'enjoyment indicators' in earlier studies. Total 313 responses data were collected in S public library in Seoul. As a result, respondents most frequently perceived benefits from library services is reading, saving the money and relaxation. Also, user's benefits level had measured based on the 'enjoyment indicators'. According to the analysis, respondents perceived benefits from library for reading (4.31) and saving the money (4.14). The results show the public libraries' benefits differ in age and careers in 'family relations', 'reading of children', 'cultural life', 'career improvement', and 'saving the money'.

As technology progresses, the supply and use of smartphones has become increasingly popular and has significantly transformed modern life. However, users still feel uncomfortable running some mobile apps, as many are created without a thoughtful consideration of usability. Usability evaluations involve several methodologies to identify specific problems in light of various principles. Although usability testing was initially centered on physical services, it has gradually evolved to consider user satisfaction as its main concern. Public transportation applications should be accessible to everyone, and studies should focus on the user's perspective. However, previous user surveys have concentrated on applications' technical aspects or visual design. As a result, there has been a lack of general usability evaluations. This study aimed to evaluate the usability of mobile transportation applications in real life, with a focus on public transportation in Seoul. All the participants were asked to complete a task, an in-depth interview, and a questionnaire survey. In summary, the results suggest that users do not find inappropriate information attractive when it does not satisfy their purpose of use, but rather tend to consider it as interference.
