As the result of this research, the user platform, which reflects the latest interface technology, supports the ideal interface environment in a future city through using the data from social media. The goal of this research is constructing the user interface platform to approach to the data in an easier and practical condition of the interface environment smart space of the future intelligent city for user. It constructs the main module to organize the platform. Interface user platform modules, which were all based on visualization of service, are constructed by visualization agents, visualization social networks, visualization icons, visualization services, visual data, visual maps and visual classes. In this research, by the variety of services including delivering information, to find the interface environment for the proper interface technology, this research suggests "Interface User Platform" as the result.

User interface design environment has been known to be part of important elements in user experience and play, and its significance of functionalities are growing bigger each year. In present day, use of intuitive user interface design are on demand. Player can expect to get a new experience that they can not get from other exiting or similar form of games. For the better user experience, essential use of intuitive game play is necessary along with its perceptive user interface. This paper describes intuitive game environment design which will enhance user experience with use of brainwave signal for Brain Computer Interface.
This paper describes a wearable multi-modal user interface design and its implementation for a teleoperated field robot system. Recently some teleoperated field robots are employed for hazard environment applications (e.g. rescue, explosive ordnance disposal, security). To complete these missions in outdoor environment, the robot system must have appropriate functions, accuracy and reliability. However, the more functions it has, the more difficulties occur in operation of the functions. To cope up with this problem, an effective user interface should be developed. Furthermore, the user interface is needed to be wearable for portability and prompt action. This research starts at the question: how to teleoperate the complicated slave robot easily. The main challenge is to make a simple and intuitive user interface with a wearable shape and size. This research provides multi-modalities such as visual, auditory and haptic sense. It enables an operator to control every functions of a field robot more intuitively. As a result, an EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) demonstration is conducted to verify the validity of the proposed wearable multi-modal user interface.
According to rapid growth of a web environment, usage-centered design is being highlighted. This paper suggests the development step and algorithm to generate a user interface prototype automatically on the basis of usage-centered design. For this purpose, The transition object of the user interface is modeled from requirement analysis, and an modeling rule as well as algorithms of business events are made for the creation of the user interface. Through these processes, visual cohesions of business events become strong and unskilled designers can develop the qualified user interface prototypes. A user's understanding of business tasks can also be improved and prototype iterations reduced.
Robot control involves advance programming, scientific and high technology. The systematic and methodological aspects of robot controls often results in having superficial control design problems that can negatively affect the robot application, usability and appeal. User friendly interface of robot control is extremely advantageous and more attractive. To illustrate, the application of medical robot is usually handled by clients who have little background in advance programming language. Thus, it would be difficult if the client needs to use programming language to control the robot. It would justify better if the robot control is presented in a meaningful interface to the client. This way the robot application would be more natural and user friendly. This paper describes the method of developing the user interface for web based communication to control an internet robot named Tarou. The web based communication tasks involves three levels. The first one accommodates on the client sending commands to robot through the internet. The next communication level relates to the robot receiving the commands sent by the client. The final communication level generates on sending feedback on status of commands by the robot to the client. The methodology used here can be elaborated in four hierarchical steps; identify user needs and robot tasks, identify the enhancing tag reference used by the server, induce the tag into HTML, present the HTML in attractive user interface as the client control panel.

Flexible display interface is capable of creating new user behaviors based on its characteristics of outstanding surface representation and display transformations such as bending, rolling, and folding. Thus, it is being discussed that the newly emerging flexible display interface can offer a different user experience that the previous flat display couldn't. However, as it is hard to find studies that identify the general attributes of user experience in the area of flexible display research, this study was intended to identify and label experience that users expect in a flexible display interface. For this purpose, this study first investigated literature reviews about user experience in previous digital media interface and flexible display interface and conducted interview research in order to reflect the users' perception, collecting 52 items that represent user experience. In addition, these items were used as measurements to deduct different types of user experience, and 308 interviewees participated in the interview research process. As a result, 10 types of user experience were developed from the results of the survey: functionality, understandability, pleasure, convenience, familiarity, stimulation, adaptability, collectivity, reality, and aesthetic.
Objective: Companies want to expand their business by providing their services at other devices and new services based upon existing services. Therefore, they look for building brand identity by providing same experience throughout devices and services. Background: Many services are available to use at multiple devices including mobile phones, tablet, personal computers, and televisions, thanks to proliferation of n-screen and cloud technology. Method: It was discussed that consistency, which emphasizes the regularity and has been one of essential aspects of user interface design, seems not effective to be applied to n-screen services, owing to different screen size, input and output peripherals, usage environment and users' attitude. Results: A new definition of same experience among different devices and services, called coherence, was introduced and abstraction levels of user interfaces were proposed as the denominator of defining coherence. Then types of users' task knowledge at each abstraction level were discussed with examples. Conclusion: This paper concluded by discussing design requirements for designing coherent user interfaces among devices and services.
Basic components for multimodal interface, such as speech recognition, speech synthesis, gesture recognition, and multimodal fusion, have their own technological limitations. For example, the accuracy of speech recognition decreases for large vocabulary and in noisy environments. In spite of those technological limitations, there are lots of applications in which speech-oriented multimodal user interfaces are very helpful to users. However, in order to expand application areas for speech-oriented multimodal interfaces, we have to develop the interfaces focused on usability. In this paper, we introduce usability and user-centered design methodology in general. There has been much work for evaluating spoken dialogue systems. We give a summary for PARADISE (PARAdigm for Dialogue System Evaluation) and PROMISE (PROcedure for Multimodal Interactive System Evaluation) that are the generalized evaluation frameworks for voice and multimodal user interfaces. Then, we present usability components for speech-oriented multimodal user interfaces and usability testing guidelines that can be used in a user-centered multimodal interface design process.

A touchless user interface system is proposed for real-time mobile devices in this work. The proposed system first recognizes the position of pattern to interact various applications based on the scene taken from mobile camera. Then, the proposed system traces the route of the pattern, which estimates the motion of pattern based on the mean-shift method. Based on this information, we control menu and keypad for the various applications. Differ from other user interface systems, the proposed system provides the new experience to even for the user of low-end mobile without additional hardware. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm provides better interaction performances than the conventional method, while achieving real-time user interacting for mobile devices.
