Face recognition (FR) has been widely used in various applications, such as smart surveillance systems, immigration control in airports, user authentication in smart devices, and so on. FR in well-controlled conditions has been extensively studied and is relatively mature. However, in unconstrained conditions, FR performance could degrade due to undesired characteristics of the input face image (such as irregular facial pose variations). To overcome this problem, this paper proposes a new method for determining if an input image is suitable for FR. In the proposed method, for an input face image, reconstruction error is computed by using a predefined set of reference face images. Then, suitability can be determined by comparing the reconstruction error with a threshold value. In order to reduce the effect of illumination changes on the determination of suitability, a preprocessing algorithm is applied to the input and reference face images before the reconstruction. Experimental results show that the proposed method is able to accurately discriminate non-frontal and/or incorrectly aligned face images from correctly aligned frontal face images. In addition, only 3 ms is required to process a face image of $64{\times}64$ pixels, which further demonstrates the efficiency of the proposed method.

With the development and spread of smart devices, the proportion of mobile shopping is gradually increasing, and the market for mobile gift certificates is also increasing. This study examines the usage status and acceptance attitude of mobile gift certificates for university students who are major customers of mobile gift certificates. Also, based on the extended integrated technology acceptance model (UTAUT2), the results of the analysis of the mediating effect of the intention of the user on the relationship between acceptance of mobile vouchers and recommendation intention were presented. As a result of the analysis, it was shown that the effort expectation, hedonic motivation, price utility, and habit had significant influence on the intention to use the mobile gift certificates. Also, the intention to use mobile gift certificates has mediating effects between effort expectation, hedonic motivation, price utility and recommendation intention. The results of this study can be applied to strategic marketing such as recruitment of new customers through mobile gift certificates while explaining customers' acceptance of technology to mobile gift vouchers or future prospective customers.

The purpose of this study is to deliver both market-practical and civil-centric political implication for sharing economy by investigating the nature of consumer-adoption for car-sharing service. With the global interest and market proliferation of the sharing economy, various service models for sharing idle resources have also been released in Korea. Particularly, in case of car sharing service, public - private partnership projects are spreading rapidly in various local governments including Seoul, along with the growing demand for alternative transportation system centering on the urban area. This study conducted an empirical study on the process of accepting the car sharing service by analyzing the data collected from users of the car sharing service "Sharing Car(Nanum Car)" of Seoul Metropolitan Government. A survey was conducted on 281 users in their twenties who are in the age of main use among the experienced users of the "Sharing Car(NaNum)" residing in Seoul. The result of analysis on the relationship between these users' perceived value and intention to use the vehicle sharing service would provide implications for establishing consumer(citizen)-centeric policies as well as market implications.

We propose a deep learning-based method that can estimate an appropriate lighting of both indoor and outdoor images. The method consists of two networks: Crop-to-PanoLDR network and LDR-to-HDR network. The Crop-to-PanoLDR network predicts a low dynamic range (LDR) environment map from a single partially observed normal field of view image, and the LDR-to-HDR network transforms the predicted LDR image into a high dynamic range (HDR) environment map which includes the high intensity light information. The HDR environment map generated through this process is applied when rendering virtual objects in the given image. The direction of the estimated light along with ambient light illuminating the virtual object is examined to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. For this, the results from our method are compared with those from the methods that consider either indoor images or outdoor images only. In addition, the effect of the loss function, which plays the role of classifying images into indoor or outdoor was tested and verified. Finally, a user test was conducted to compare the quality of the environment map created in this study with those created by existing research.

This study is to examine the effects of gesture based interface and display methods to make an effective virtual learning environment. The gesture based interface can provide interactive interface to make objects in the virtual learning environment by generating natural movement of users' gesture. This natural functionality leads users to apply natural movements as they do in real actions. Because of the natural user interface, the gesture based interface is expected to maximize learning outcomes. This study examined how the gesture based interface can be used when a head mounted display is applied for a virtual reality learning environment. For this study 44 colleagues students were participated. Two display methods (head mounted display vs. monitor) and two interface (gesture based interface vs. joystick) were tested to identify which might be more effective. The study was applied to different learning tasks which require different levels of spatial perception. The dependent variables are three constructs of virtual presence (spatial perception, immersiveness, and realness) and task completion time and recall tests. This study discussed potential disadvantages of gesture based interface while it showed positive usages of gesture based interface.

Recently, museums are attracting the attention of visitors and society. However, research on museum interpretation conducted at domestic and foreign is relatively limited. The plan design of the museum commentary system was mainly based on the perspective of the experts, and most of them do not reflect the desire of the visitors. This study focused on visitors' experience of using museum Interpretation system. Through analyzing the effect of the Interpretation system of the museum that the visitor feels, we examined whether the Interpretation system of the museum meets the cultural needs of the visitors and identified the problems and deficiencies in the system. After that, the problems were rearranged and suggested the main elements of the commentary system of the museum finally, so as to help improve the museum commentary system and the educational function.In the first part of the study, the four major explanatory methods existing in the museum were confirmed. After that, we conducted in - depth interviews on four types of commentary methods and collected existing problems and deficiencies. The results of the type analysis were grouped into 14 types and the questionnaire was used to conduct a general survey on 14 problems. In this study, the user 's discomfort and problems were identified in the museum Interpretation system, and based on this, five key elements necessary for the museum Interpretation system were derived. Among them, inhalation is the weakest element in the museum commentary system, and future research will be conducted on how to apply each factor. The present study aims to identify the factors that affect the continuous use and discontinuance of the hospital information seeking applications(hospital apps thereafter) by employing the post acceptance model. The surveys were conducted with people who used the hospital apps from October 11 to 18, 2019. Researchers collected 125 valid data and analyzed them by using the structural equation model. The study found that the satisfaction and confirmation of expectation for the hospital apps users had significant effects on intention for continuous use and perceived usefulness, respectively. However, the perceived usefulness did not have a significant effect on the intention for continue use. The present study has identified the variables that influence the continuous use of these innovative technologies. The findings of the study confirmed the post acceptance model by observing the adoption and use of the hospital apps and extended the literature of the post acceptance model by discussing the unique characteristics of the hospital apps that satisfy the urgent help-seekers under emergency situations or the information needs emphasizing promptness. In addition, based on the benefits and limitations of hospital apps reported by consumers, the study provided practical implications for designing more user-friendly apps to hospital app developers or managers.

Policy study information is the essential source of information in every step of decision making process to plan, execute and assess the national operation policy. The policy study subject of a national policy research center from study design the performance assessment on its practical effect is managed via thorough process to secure its effectiveness and efficiency. However, the directly exposed information to the practical user or the public who are in need of actual policy study information is the resource published in a form of policy study report, the final result. NKIS operated by the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences under the Office for Government Policy Coordination, Prime Minister's Secretariat is a public information offering service that conduct integrated management on study reports from cooperative study among institutes along with policy outcome from 27 national policy research centers. This study aims to introduce the current status of operation and information management of NKIS, apprehend the management characteristics of policy study information resources of national policy research center, and deduce remarks that need to be considered for API with external service for the derivation of standardized sharing data element.

In a wireless power transmitter, the characteristics and effects of wireless power transmission between two induction coils are investigated, and a power converter circuit and a battery charger/discharger circuit using wireless power transmission technology are proposed. The advantage of wireless power transmitters and wireless chargers is that, instead of the existing plug-in-mounted wired charger (OBC; on-board charger), the user can wirelessly charge the battery without connecting the power source when charging power to the battery. There is. In addition, the advantage of wireless charging can bring about an energy efficiency improvement effect by using the secondary side rectifier circuit and the receiving coil, but the large-capacity long-distance wireless charging method has a limitation on the transmission distance, so many studies are currently being conducted. The purpose of the study is to study the transmitter circuit and receiver circuit of a wireless power transmission device using a primary coil, a secondary coil, and a half bridge series resonance converter, which can transmit power of a non-contact type power transmitter. As a result, a new topology was applied to improve the power transmission distance of the wireless charging system, and through an experiment according to each distance, the maximum efficiency (95.8%) was confirmed at an output of 3 kW at an 8 cm transmission distance.

In order to avoid the spread of Covid-19, outdoor activities are decreasing worldwide and the time spent at home is increasing. As physical activity declines, the number of people who feel bored, restless and immune deficient is increasing. As indoor life becomes more permanent, multiple approaches to home workout are becoming active. This paper examines how the Covid blue (boredom and social anxiety) produced in the no-touch era affects quality of life through the use of home training applications. Questionnaires were collected from Chinese people using a website dedicated to Chinese questionnaires, and finally 383 appropriate data were analyzed using SPSS24.0 and AMOS24.0. The research results showed that the actual experience of using home workout had a positive impact on quality of life. The higher the user's sense of social unease about being late in the untact, It was found that the higher the social anxiety perceived by users about the untact era, the higher the interactivity and exercise satisfaction with the home workout app. Home workout application can improve exercise satisfaction and quality of life, which are more positive effects beyond the result of resolving consumers' boredom. Therefore, it can be used as a channel for digital services.
