The purpose of the study was to establish a new view of textbook which may contribute to the abolishment of the instruction mainly based on the only textbook and to the promotion of creativities of students. We first reviewed science textbooks and related teaching-learning materials of foreign countries with emphasis on the relationship among textbook and teaching-learning materials and practical use of them. In western countries the roles of traditional textbook has been changed. That is, various kinds of materials such as reading book, work-book, worksheet, experimental guidebook, filmstrips are used to raise effect of instruction besides of traditional type of textbook. Secondary, we identified the problems related to the science textbook-view of textbook, textbook contents, practical use of textbook-through opinion survey administered to principals akd teachers of elementary schools. The results of the survey are as follows; Concerning the view of textbook, most teachers did not recognize textbook as an absolute materials. They thought that textbook contents could be taught reorganized according to their judgements. On the contrary, teachers responded to the question of whether or not they follow contents of textbook as they are presented in it were approximately 30%. Further, more than 75% of them have seldom used instructional materials except textbooks. In order to revise the problems of our present textbook as stated above, a new view of textbook should be established. We, above all, established 4 basic premises for searching a new view of textbook. 1) Textbook should not be considered as the only material but as being at the center of various teaching -learning materials. 2) The importance of textbook should be illustrated Among Curriculum, textbook and related teaching-learning materials, instruction and evaluation. 3. Textbook contents should not be regarded as definitely fixed or absolute ones. 4. Human being can understand environment more fully by commanding his swnsory organ multilaterally. Under these premises we disscussed about curriculum and textbook, textbook, and instruction, akd evaluation method.

According to the textbook utilization survey, university students buy 6.4 books and spend 94,000 won per semester. However, nearly half of books are left unused. Therefore many students buy used textbooks instead of buying new books at a fixed price. The existing used textbook trading platforms support basic functions, but don't support textbook recommendation function and reference book recommendation function. In this paper, we developed a used textbook trading platform BookCue that provides textbook recommendation function, reference book recommendation function, and consignment trading function reflecting the regional characteristics. It is expected that will contribute to reduce university students' burden that buying textbook by forming textbooks trading environment and preserve environment. In the near future our platform will need to expand to a platform that deals with a variety of goods, as well as used textbooks in the region.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to compare the common herbs for pain related disease between Yak-Jing and textbook of herbology. Methods We searched the formation of "Koho" and theory of Todo yoshimasu. We selected the common herbs that is used for pain related disease in Yak-Jing and textbook of herbology. These herbs were compared with each other. Result 1. Common Herbs for pain related disease are Ephedrae Herba (麻黃), Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix (附子), Euphorbiae Kansui Radix (甘遂), Euphorbiae pekinensis Radix (大戟) Daphnis Genkwa Flos (芫花), Atractylodis Rhizoma (朮), Paeonia Radix Rubra (芍藥), JujubaeFructus (大棗), Gypsum (石膏), Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (知母), Cinnamomi Ramulus (桂枝), Poria (茯苓), Rhei Rhizoma (大黃), Natrii Sulfas (芒草), Pueraiae Radix (葛根). There are some difference between textbook of herbology and Yak-Jing about Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix (附子), Paeonia Radix Rubra (芍藥), Atractylodis Rhizoma (蒼朮), Pueraiae Radix (葛根). 2. Preparata Radix (附子) excrete water poisons (水毒) in Yak-Jing, but it has the effect of restore yang and tonify fire (回陽補火) in textbook of herbology. 3. Paeonia Radix Rubra (芍藥) is effective for pathological condition caused by the formation of the band and spasm (結實拘攣) in Yak-Jing, but it is to cure heat pattern in textbook of herbology. 4. Atractylodis Rhizoma (蒼朮) has the effect of water-draining (利水) in Yak-Jing, but it has the effect of dispersing (發散) in textbook of herbology. 5. Pueraiae Radix (葛根) is used in dyspnea and sweating (喘而汗出) in Yak-Jing, but it is to cure engender fluid (生津), skin disease, diarrhea in textbook of herbology. Conclusion There are some difference between textbook of herbology and Yak-Jing in the herb medicine that is used in pain related disease.

The purpose of this study is to develop the eTextbook and to explore the usability of the eTextbook for accelerating mobile learning in university. This study was primarily based on needs analysis of students, and eTextbook was created based on digital publishing through Adobe DPS. The major design principles of the eTextbook based on previous studies were as follow. First, eTextbook should deliver learning contents in a simple and systematic way. Second, eTextbook should induce student's flows by providing segmented learning contents and various learning resources. Third, eTextbook should expand information accessibility by providing a wide variety of multimedia functions. The development principles of eTextbook have been developed based on cognitive psychology. Location and function of the link or icon used for eTextbook have been developed on the basis of the principles of cognitive psychology. The main development principles were Coherence, Signaling, Redundancy, Segmentation, Multimedia principle, and so on. In order to examine usability of the developed eTextbook, experts' and learners' reactions were evaluated. The primary responses of learners are that the eTextbook increased the learning accessibility and provided various multimedia factors, and thus increased the learning flows in the class.

The purpose of this research is to investigate various characteristics of the health unit presented in current physical educational curriculum and study a variety of middle school physical education textbooks in the aspect of health education. The conclusions of this research are as follow Acquiring and executing of health knowledge is important in the school health education. Thus, the contents of textbook suitable to the developmental stage of teenager and applicable to future life should be concretely presented in the physical education textbook. The standard of selecting the range of physical education contents should be regulated, and the contents appropriate to standard should be presented in the physical education textbook. We make student utilize the textbook by showing the sample the example of portfolio and self-checklist in the textbook. In the aspect of formation of textbook, scientific and systematic which is appropriate to improving the power of thinking and inquiry should be used in the textbook. In the aspect of format of textbook, application of CD-ROM or video type should be attempted, making the textbook. Moreover, the health education in the physical education textbook should be connected to not only the school health education but the health education in the unit of home and society for the purpose of successful health education.

The purpose of this study was to make a selection criteria for Home Economics textbooks in the middle school. For this purpose, first, the criteria were out by collecting, analyzing and synthesizing the literature. Second, questionnaire survey of the 6 selection criteria was performed. Questionnaire sent to Home Economics teachers of 401 middle school selected by systematic random sapling, 233 questionnaire were received and 220 questionnaire were analyzed for this study. As a statistical tool, SPSSWIN was used to analyze frequency, mean, standard deviation, and factor analysis. The research findings were as follows ; 1. Now for kinds of Home Economics textbooks are mainly used. At that time when textbooks were selected, these selections were made upon deliberation with the teachers in charge and in future this method will be desirable. Most home economics teachers realize that the selection criteria is needed to improve the objectivity of textbook selection. 2. As a result of making factor analysis, the selection criteria were revised that 52 items in 7 categories were chosen as textbook criteria plan. They consist of 5 items related to the outward form of textbook, 5 items related to the learning materials in textbook, 10 items related to the composition of textbook units, 11 items related to the guiding contents of textbook, 7 items related to the subject of experiment.practice, 9 items related to the composition of picture, photograph and diagram. and 7 items related to the use of instructional-learning method.

The purpose of this study is to find a way to improve digital textbooks for self-regulated learning by applying cognitive scaffolding designs to an elementary math digital textbook and examining the effectiveness of the system. Hence this study was conducted in two steps. First, a framework for scaffolding design was devised by examining the problems and difficulties students encounter when using a mathematics digital textbook. Second, after the digital textbook was revised by applying the scaffolding design frameworks, the effectiveness of the scaffolding framework was examined by comparing students' achievement levels in an experimental group and that of students in a control group. Seventy fifth-graders participated in this study. Students were divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The students in the experimental group studied with the revised version of the digital textbook and the students in the control group studied with the original version of the digital textbook. The students received a pretest before the experiment. After the experiment, they took an achievement test and completed a usability questionnaire. The data were analyzed by ANCOVA with the SPSS Windows version. The results revealed that the students who used the revised program (to which design strategies for scaffolding were applied) showed higher levels of achievement than those who used the original version. In addition, students in the experimental group generally showed higher scores on the usability survey, which consisted of four sub-categories such as 'effectiveness', 'efficiency', 'satisfaction', and 'learnability'. There was a statistically significant effect on 'efficiency'. These results implied that scaffolding strategies were effective for mathematics learning through the use of an elementary digital textbook.

Recently, Chinese universities have been putting their priority on cultivating industry-academia linked talents, catching up with social change and industrial demand. Accordingly, vocational purpose education is being emphasized even in Korean language education. When facing active trade between Korea and China, the importance of business Korean language education will be magnified, and therefore, the demand for business Korean textbooks will grow accordingly. To strengthen the basis for the development of future business Korean textbooks, this study conducted a general analysis of a business Korean textbook for Chinese learners. Specifically, the textbook was examined by largely dividing it into external and internal structures. After dividing the internal structure into "purpose of compilation", "composition of the textbook", "learning contents", and "learning activity", the composition of the textbook was once again divided into "overall composition" and "unit composition", and the learning contents was further divided into "subject", "language content", and "supplementary knowledge." Furthermore, an analysis was conducted. The status and directions for future development of business Korean textbooks for Chinese learners are delineated and suggestions for improvement are provided. This study has its significant in that a general analysis was conducted on a business Korean textbook for Chinese learners, and is expected to be used as basic research material for the future development of business Korean textbooks.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of game-based-digital textbook on the basic arithmetic abilities and the task attention of students with mental retardation. To do this, 38 students with mental retardation participated and were assigned to the three groups. The first group only used the traditional text book, the second group only used the game-based-digital textbook, and the third group used both the traditional textbook and the game-based-digital textbook. The third group using both the traditional textbook and the game-based-digital textbook revealed more higher improvement than the other two groups in the basic arithmetic and the task attention.

Textbook is a tool that helps achieve the learning objectives based on the content of the curriculum. The contents of the textbook will be constructed newly because revised curriculum 2015 was announced. The aim at this study is to provide an indication of the textbook writing. To achieve the objectives, we conducted a pilot study in order to analyze the content of the textbook of informatics currently being used in middle schools and to derive the direction of access to the newly configured physical computing unit. Analysis of content elements was used Romey. The pilot studied makes lesson harmonized with H/W and S/W by utilizing the robot. According to the results of the analysis, there is one textbook among the currently used textbooks that is suitable to help students develop their thinking and in the case of physical computing unit, inquiry instruction showed positive results. This study suggestions necessity of writing types that sets importance on activities in the form of textbook.
