The stiffness matrix of a two-dimensional contact surface element is deduced from the principle of virtual work. The incremental loading procedure used is controlled by displacement and stress. Special potential contact elements are used to avoid the need to rearrange the FEM mesh due to variations of the contact surface as contact develops. Published results are used to validate the method, which is then applied to a turbine to solve the contact problem between the blade root and rotor in the region in which a 'push fit' connects the blade to its rotor.
Three-dimensional flow analysis is implemented to investigate the flow through transonic axial-flow compressor rotor(NASA R67), and to evaluate the performances of k-$\epsilon$ and Baldwin-Lomax turbulence models. A finite volume method is used for spatial discretization. And, the equations are solved implicitly in time with the use of approximate factorization. Upwind difference scheme is used for inviscid terms, but viscous terms are centrally differenced. The flux-difference-splitting of Roe is used to obtain fluxes at the cell faces. Numerical analysis is performed near peak efficiency and near stall. And, the results are compared with the experimental data for NASA R67 rotor. Blade-to-Blade Mach number distributions are compared to confirm the accuracy of the code. From the results, we conclude that k-$\epsilon$ model is better for the calculation of flow rate and efficiency than Baldwin-Lomax model. But, the predictions for Mach number and shock structure are almost same.
When the wind turbine is used in cold regions, the mechanical properties and dimension stability of the blade will be changed. The proposal of this paper is to test the durability of the blade for wind turbine. It is necessary to select the most comfortable materials and fabrication processes for more stable wind turbine blade in cold regions. To select the most comfortable materials and processes, the static strength has to know through the tensile static tests at the severe condition as cold regions. First, the tensile static specimens made by RIM (Resin injection molding) process & vacuum bagging process with reinforcement materials and resin. Tensile static tests were carried out on three laminate lay-ups (carbon prepreg, carbon fiber dry fabric and glass fiber dry fabric) at different test temperature($24^{\circ}$, $-30^{\circ}$), determining properties such as the mechanical strength, stiffness and strain to failure. At different test temperature, in order to test the tensile strengths of these specimens used the low temperature chamber. Next, the results of this test were compared with each other. Finally, the most comfortable materials and fabrication processes can select based on these results. The results show the changes in the static behavior of three laminate lay-ups at different test temperatures. At low temperatures, the static strengths are higher than the ones at room temperature.

Various cooling techniques have been applied to the gas turbine blade in order to reduce heat load to the blade. On the blade surface, film cooling method is used and the accurate information of film cooling effectiveness should be evaluated in order to predict the exact temperature distribution in the blade. In this study, pressure sensitive paint (PSP) was used to measure the film cooling effectiveness on a flat plate. Results showed that PSP technique successfully evaluated the distribution of film cooling effectiveness. Three blowing ratios of 0.5, 1, and 2 were tested and the film cooling effectiveness near holes decreased as the blowing ratio increased, however, increased far downstream from the holes.

This paper contains a new approach to blade section design method for marine propellers. The hydrodynamic characteristics of 2-D section are highly influenced by its geometrical parameters i.e., thickness and camber distributions and leading edge radius etc. To consider fully turbulent flow field near 2-D section. the finite volume method with k-${\varepsilon}$ turbulent model which solve Reynolds time averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) equation is applied. In this study, O-type grid system that can provide many calculation points on blade surface is used. The results were compared with those of the experiment of NACA0012 to confirm the accuracy of the developed codes. The goal of this study is the development of a blade section with high efficiency and low drag. To achieve this, we carried out the tests of lift, drag and cavitation characteristics in cavitation tunnel. The results of experiment were compared with numerical results in order to validate the proposed blades design method. By comparing the numerical results with the experiments, we found that the new blade section, KH28 allows superior performance in efficiency and cavitation avoidance characteristics. We further investigated the blade section design method and an application study of this section, KH28 to apply to the marine propeller. In order to improve the accuracy of numerical results on prediction of lift and drag, we conclude here that the 2-layer boundary model must be used.

Bird-strike is one of the most important design factors for safety in the aviation industry. Bird-strikes have been the cause of significant damage to aircraft and rotorcraft structures and the loss of life. This study used DYTRAN software to simulate the transient response of an Euler-Lagrangian composite helicopter blade that has been impacted by a bird. The Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) method and a suitable equation of state were applied to model the bird. ALE was applied to the bird-strike analysis due to the large difference between the properties of the blade and bird. The debris of the bird was assumed to be a fluid and applied as Euler elements after the collision. Through the analysis of bird impacts, the leading-edge of the rotor blade (50.8 mm) was used to identify a positive margin of 1.18 based on the TSAI-FILL criteria. The results are assessed to be sufficiently reliable and may be evaluated to replace tests with various analysis conditions. The structural stability of the rotor blade could be assessed by applying various load conditions and different modeling methods in the future.

Organic-inorganic metal halide perovskite solar cells have received attention because it has a number of advantages with excellent light harvesting, high carrier mobility, and facile solution processability and also recorded recently power conversion efficiency (PCEs) of over 20%. The major issue on perovskite solar cells have been reached the limit of small area laboratory scale devices produced using fabrication techniques such as spin coating and physical vapor deposition which are incompatible with low-cost and large area fabrication of perovskite solar cells using printing and coating techniques. To solution these problems, we have investigated the feasibility of achieving fully printable perovskite solar cells by the blade-coating technique. The blade-coating fabrication has been widely used to fabricate organic solar cells (OSCs) and is proven to be a simple, environment-friendly, and low-cost method for the solution-processed photovoltaic. Moreover, the film morphology control in the blade-coating method is much easier than the spray coating and roll-to-roll printing; high-quality photoactive layers with controllable thickness can be performed by using a precisely polished blade with low surface roughness and coating gap control between blade and coating substrate[1]. In order to fabricate perovskite devices with good efficiency, one of the main factors in printed electronic processing is the fabrication of thin films with controlled morphology, high surface coverage and minimum pinholes for high performance, printed thin film perovskite solar cells. Charge dissociation efficiency, charge transport and diffusion length of charge species are dependent on the crystallinity of the film [2]. We fabricated the printed perovskite solar cells with large area and flexible by the bar-coating. The morphology of printed film could be closely related with the condition of the bar-coating technique such as coating speed, concentration and amount of solution, drying condition, and suitable film thickness was also studied by using the optical analysis with SEM. Electrical performance of printed devices is gives hysteresis and efficiency distribution.

This study reports on a uniform resin coating method by using a doctor blade type dispenser. For high productivity, continuous imprint-lithography has been studied, and developed fabrication systems are used in several applications such as anti-reflection films, dry adhesives, and water collecting surfaces. In the continuous fabrication field, researchers have typically focused on patterning and demolding procedures. During the roll-to-roll fabrication process, however, the uniform resin coating process is also important in order to obtain a high quality product, which can be evaluated by uniform thickness, precise geometric expressions, and a thin residual layer. To achieve these, a doctor blade type dispenser was designed and fabricated. As a result, thickness of coated resin was well controlled by modulating the flow rate of the resin and blading gap. In addition, a very thin layer coating process (${\sim}10{\mu}m$) was achieved by softly contacting the blade on the substrate.

This paper describes a fabrication multiplexing sensor probe that employs a fiber Bragg grating(FBG) based on multiple measurements to determine the blade deflection of a wind power generator the reliability analysis of this probe is also presented. To diminish the temperature sensitivity of the FBG sensor, we form multiple CFRPs onto the upper and lower layers of the FBG and package it with an epoxy resin. As a result, the depth of the CFRP is 1mm, and the temperature sensitivity is $2.39pm/^{\circ}C$. We construct a sensor network utilizing the fabricated sensor with a blade beam model. As the number of pendulums is increased on the fore-end of the beam, the strain value is measured. The strain variation is calculated from the measurement of the load on the blade beam model by monitoring the strain of the FBG sensor. When the linear equation is applied, the strain error is 0.4% and when the finite difference method is used, the tip deflection error is 3.3%. The displacement error derived from the strain value of the FBG sensor is 4.39%. The calculated result between the measured value of the dead-end of the beam and the strain is less than 2.46% tip distortion error. Therefore, our proposed multiplexing sensor probe is a low-cost and high-reliability solution for a commercial wind power generator.

A 2-axis gimbal-type X-band antenna has been widely used to effectively transmit the high resolution image data from the observation satellite to the desired ground station. However, a discontinuous stepper motor activation for rotating the pointing mechanism in azimuth and elevation directions induces undesirable micro-vibration disturbances which can result in the image quality degradation of a high-resolution observation satellite. To enhance the image quality of the observation satellite, attenuating the micro-vibration induced by an activation of the stepper motor for rotational movements of the antenna is important task. In this study, we proposed a low-rotational-stiffness blade gear applied to the output shaft of the stepper motor to obtain the micro-vibration isolation performance. The design of the blade gear was performed through the structure analysis such that this gear is satisfied with the margin of safety rule under the derived torque budget. In addition, the micro-vibration isolation performance of the blade gear was verified through the micro-vibration measurement test using the dedicated micro-vibration measurement device proposed in this study.
