AMOREPACIFIC has rapidly grown to become a successful global brand by persistently seeking and achieving success in foreign markets. In 2011, AMOREPACIFIC was ranked as one of the global top 20 cosmetics companies. What makes AMOREPACIFIC's global success noteworthy is that AMOREPACIFIC challenged the France and the US market, where competition level is the toughest. Lolita Lempicka, AMOREPACIFIC's perfume brand, was chosen as one of the top seven most popular brands in the women's perfume market in France. In addition, Amorepacific, AMOREPACIFIC's namesake skincare brand, is currently recognized as a top prestige brand in the USA. Their success played a significant role as a bridgehead for AMOREPACIFIC in becoming a global cosmetics company. The main object of this case study is to analyze how AMOREPACIFIC became a global cosmetic company through building key brands such as Lolita Lempicka and Amorepafic, among others. Therefore, this study reviewed AMOREPACIFIC's unconventional approach in launching Lolita Lempicka in France, and Amorepacific in the US by focusing on how they foresaw the future opportunities and employed innovative marketing strategies. Specifically, we focused on Amorepacific's marketing strategy under the critical period when AMOREPACIFIC achieved great success in France with Lolita Lempicka (between 1997 and 2004) and in US with the brand, Amorepacific (2003-2008). The case of AMOREPACIFIC's success in the global markets can give valuable lessons to companies that want to extend their businesses to foreign countries and ultimately become global. One such lesson is the importance of building a successful pioneer brand in a powerful bridgehead market. While domestic competitors first entered into less competitive markets such as those in South-East Asia, AMOREPACIFIC challenged the toughest markets such as the French and US markets where the incumbent companies waged the most intensive and severe battles against Lolita Lempick and Amorepacific. Through the success in France and US market, however, AMOREPACIFIC built a powerful base for its successful global expansion. Another valuable lesson is the importance of foresight in uncovering great opportunities hidden behind the trends without losing focus on the brand's core character and values. Lolita Lempicka and Amorepacific showed excellence in foresight competition, which led them to succeed against the intense competition from Goliath companies. If Lolita Lempicka and Amorepacific had just followed the popular market trend at the time, they would have never succeeded.
Due to their geographic proximity to Beijing, the Southeast Asian states under the fallout of the China's growing power are struggling to seek the art of diplomacy to promote their national interests. This study explores why Cambodia previously taking a pro-US strategy after the end of the Cold War has switched to a pro-China one in the context of the rise of G-2 system, the ASEAN regionalism, the country's national interest and Hun Sen's regime legitimation. Theoretically, this study takes a realist constructivist approach and tries to find how realist interests and norms have affected the Hun Sen's regime legitimation. The relationship between China and Cambodia has been deepened by mutual economic interdependence and increasingly stronger Chinese power. Especially, the Chinese massive economic aids and investment have enormously supported the regime legitimation of Hun Sen. On the other hand, The US value diplomacy promoting democracy and human rights has undermined the Hun Sen's legitimacy and strained the two nations' relationship. However, the Hun Sen's pro-China strategy is not to check and balance against US strategic interests and not to recognize the Chinese hegemonic position in Southeast Asia. It is a hedging against the US value diplomacy while maximizing economic and other gains from China. ASEAN has been playing a coordinating role to limit the scope of power politics among big powers and to mitigate its ramifications. Yet, since the US and Chinese interests are so keenly criss-crossing, Cambodia may continue to react to the G-2 system through bilateral relations with them.

The runoff will be changed in the future due to climate change, and this phenomenon affects the flood inflow to Water Resources Facilities (WRF) and its production. This study has evaluated the electric power generation of WRF in North Korea as climate change. The WRF can produce the electric power by rotating the hydraulic turbine using the energy of water. In other words, it converts the potential energy to the kinetic energy, then the kinetic energy to the electric energy. As a result of this study, the amount of power generation of WRF in North Korea decreased from 2011 to 2040, and increased from 2041 to 2100, comparing with present. In other words, the productivity will decrease at first (2011~2040) but increase (2041~2100). It is because there will be new facilities for climate change, and the capacities of them will be getting far better than the existing facilities. The existing North Korean WRFs are vulnerable to the effects of climate change, and it is judged that the new North Korean WRFs are advantageously located in the influence of climate change.
The important national cultural heritages were retrieved. April 25 2014, US President Barack Obama formally returned 9 Seals of Joseon Dynasty and Korean Empire in Korea-US Summit taken place in Cheong Wa Dae. These Seals were taken out of Deoksugung illegally by a US Marine Corps officer during Korean War, handed down to his posterity, and last November 2013 confiscated by HSI in San Diego. Through investigations above facts turned out and it was decided to return these relics to Koera. In the process of surveying these seals, I confimed the authenticity of them and transferred my opinion to Cultural Heritage Administration. In this paper, I try to summarize the historical value of each Seals and suggest the remaining task.
Air transportation industry was established on a basis of liability limitation from the outset. Many treaties, however, had to be drafted since 1960' s to meet the need of the Unites States, who argued full compensation without limitation like other torts cases, but most of them were in vain. The Japanese Initiative in 1992, though being aimed to lower a level of compensation in air crash cases to that of other transportation accidents, showed a way to the U.S. how to solve the issue. Instead of obtaining an multilateral agreement through ICAO, the U.S. persuaded IATA to organize intercarrier consensus for voluntary waive the limitation. IATA succeeded in adopting Intercarrier Liability Agreement in 1995, in which carriers agreed not to use Warsaw limitation and accepted strict liability up to 100,000SDRs. Through a series of negotiation to implement the Intercarrier agreement, US DOT tried to insert a domicile standard provision to the agreement which enable US victims to be compensated according to the law of the U.S. regardless of the situation. IATA opposed the intent aggressively. The U.S. set back to the starting point remaining issues for further discussion. The liability limitation under the Warsaw system is being collapsed. It is the result of a simple logic; liability limitation cannot be maintained without appropriate compensation.

Purpose : This study aims to investigate into the change in muscle power, pain and muscle tension upon application of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and ultrasound (US) at trigger point (TrP) of the Scapular inter angle. Methods : In total of 24 human subjects that experience pain upon stimulation at the scapular inter angle were recruited. They were divided into three groups: control, ESWT and US group. Each group was subjected to appropriate stimulation three times per week for four weeks except the control group which had no restrictions in lifestyle. The ESWT group was subjected to Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy with a 2 $cm^2$ head, 20 times at speed of application of 60 pulses/min and depth of intrusion of 25 mm Whereas the US group was subject to Ultra sound therapy with 1$cm^2$ head, 1 MHz in frequency, 1.5 W/$cm^2$ of strength with five minutes of continuous application. Measurements were performed immediately prior to and at the end of the experiment. Results : There was no statistical significance in the change in muscle tension and muscle power as well as the difference between both groups before and after the experiment. VAS and VRS, all of which indicates changes in pain level, had statistically significant differences between them in pretest posttest comparisons. However, ESWT was superior to US in terms of decreasing muscle tension and pain while increasing muscle power. Conclusion : This study has made it evident that ESWT is far more reasonable to apply to TrP.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the social costs of inland trucking and maritime transport between Kwangyang Port in Korea and the Great Lakes in US. Also, this study compares these social costs each other, and finds the way how to internalize them for the efficiencies of national logistics policies. This study uses the Contingent Valuation Method to evaluate the social costs for the two transport modes in each country. The final result is that the social cost difference between inland trucking and maritime transport around US Great Lakes area is not so significant that there are not many chances to enhance the maritime transport in the region. However, in case of Korea, there is significant difference in social costs between the two transport modes, so that Korea government may have a lot of chances to improve the seaborne trade by way of various internalization policies.
As concerns about dementia patients increase gradually in society, the nursing of them becomes more and more important. For intervening in dementia patients effectively, the most fundamental thing is to understand their characteristics and to increase the ability of assessing them. The assessment data supply us with the foundations of Nursing diagnosis and nursing plan. The reaseons why the assessment data are especially important to dementia patients are as follows; First, dementia patients have great differences among them in intellectual, physical ability. And their condition varies from time to time. Second, the intervention without planning results in the deficiency of consistence, and it rather embarrasses and makes dementia patients uneasy. Third, nursing of dementia patients requires participation of multi-disciplinary team because of characteristics of that disease. The development of an unitary assessment tool is essential for all members of the team to have close relations between them and care for dementia patients. Fully understanding the importance of assessment data, this study investigate the content to be included in the assessment before developing assessment tools to be used in community. It points out that the assessment should include the informations about patients, their family, and main care-giver. And it sets up items that can supply with detailed information on each person. In the future it is necessary to transform the contents of this study to more concrete items and develope the assessment tools for dementia patients. And recording paper for follow up should be supplemented to check any changes in family caring for dementia patients and describe the changes in detail. To make assessment tools is one of the fundamental works in controlling dementia patients. Therefore the official assessment tools should be provided as soon as possible. This study aimed at presenting the guiding principles for developing that assessment tools.
It's not easy to renew old brand of over 50 years history to the tastes of new consumer of our time. Most of national brands that has a history of some 20 years in Korea have strove for continuation and growth of brand to no avails, which can be taken as a good example of current situation. For instance, C company, one of the National brand of US which has a history of 51 years, has made its position secure as a fashion group and based itself on a sound foundation by establishing new marketing strategy and completing successful brand renewal in the process of strategic M&A with Italian company. Those successful marketing strategies are as follows. 1) they regarded both market and consumer oriented marketing activity as company's highest priority strategy and put great emphasis upon concentration on target market and reestablishment of brand image of business casual wear. 2) Setting up and operating planning team composed of merchandizer alone in Milano, they set the direction of plan on the basis of concentrated research on potential item in market according to thorough market research done by buying office in Korea, branch office in Hong Kong and buyer in US prior to blueprint planning for season. 3) Great emphasis was placed on business which focused on intensive presentation of basic key item for apparel career women who are main consumer group in the midium-low prices market in US and on supplementation of size and color. they named this line 'collectibles' and helped their customer develop their own clothes plan without worrying about the change of color and fabric by supporting same fabric and color throughout the year and enabled them to add variation easily by supplementing new trend item. 4) Company set black as a main color that lots of apparel career women find easy to care and to express their own image and presented them with pebble which belongs to navy and beige and added fashion color such as wine and brown etc as season goes by. They constructed basic line in order for their customers to coordinate purchased item with new one or to add them to present collection, and to achieve efficient sale by setting up strategy which allows this cross coordination and changing pattern occasionally. 5) Though basic jacket for 99$, short slim skirt for 49$ are products within midium-low prices range, in the material planning stage aiming at production of item that has both resonable function appealing to consumer and is fashionable, synthetic material had to be used as a main source due to price competitiveness. Despite this situation, considering comfortable sense of fit and refined drape of silhouette that has no sign of cheap material, whole collectible line was divided into two items, which contributed to reduction of cost. In case of material that is composed of triacetate and polyester in 70 to 30 ratio, was used up to 4 million yard, which allowed drastic curtailment of cost accompanied by concentration. In case of 'collectibles' line, using Korean material mainly, C company chose to have their product sewed in Southeast Asian countries where transportation is well developed and both productivity and quality verified by operating global production system which aiming at cutdown of cost through outsourcing production from the country where labor cost is low and getting finished product. Polarization between present consumers telling us that consumers with the mind of middle classes in the past no longer exists between consumers who seek after only fine article of highest quality and wise consumers who are sensible enough to judge bubble on correlation between price and quality. To cope with this change in new consumer mind, apparel makes changing their policy so as to produce item that has reasonable quality and falls within affordable price range anywhere in the world. and they're striving to get out of difficult situation by operating global marketing strategy which stresses separation of planning, production and sale and sensibility of fashion shared worldwide. The marketing strategy of C company can be exemplified as a successful one.
