A Study On Wear Pattern of Wheel Flange for Urban Railway Vehicle (도시철도 차량 차륜 플랜지의 마모패턴에 관한 연구)

  • The surface of railway wheel tread in wheel-rail system can not be free from wear because of various circumstance such as railway condition, maintenance condition, weather condition, characteristics of wheel surface's geometrical shape, and vehicle suspension's structural characteristics etc. Therefore, the research on wear reduction and maintenance method are very important to ensure the safety of railway vehicle, to improve car comfort and to decrease maintenance cost. In this study, the wear rates of railway wheel have been periodically measured in terms of the running distance of Electrical Multiple Unit which have been currently operated and the microstructure transformation of wheel tread using replication method have been performed. The results show that the relations between the flange wear and tread microstructure are depended on running distance and it will supply basic data on wheel maintenance.

A Study on Squeal Noise Control by Absorption Treatment in Urban Rail Transit System (흡음에 의한 도시철도 곡선부 스퀼 소음저감에 관한 연구)

  • Sound absorbing materials are applied to the exposed surfaces of curvet subway tunnel for the reduction of curving noise level. Before the treatment, acoustical engineering simulation is performed to predict the noise level reduction for different kinds and amounts of absorbing material. The principle of geometrical acoustics is utilized to perform the simulation efficiently and accurately. The noise bevels of the inside and outside of running car body are measured to find the noise level reduction. The average noise level reduction of 8 dB has been attained. It has been shown that the simulated results are comparable to the measured ones.

  • 현대사회의 고속 고급 교통수단에 대한 요구에 부응하고, 고유가 및 온실가스 등 원유 기반의 교통 시스템의 문제를 해결하기 위해 교통 수단의 다양화 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 석유문제가 심각한 상황으로 전개될 경우, 대륙과 대륙 그리고 국가와 국가 사이의 장거리 이동을 할 수 있는 교통수단은 전기로 추진되는 철도이다. 현재 대중화 되어있는 바퀴 식 철도차량은 초고속 운전 시 기하급수적으로 증가하는 소음, 공기저항 동력 전달의 한계, 레일의 마모라는 문제를 가지고 있으며 이러한 문제점을 가진 철도차량의 대안으로 선형 추진 시스템 연구가 진행 중이다[1] 국내에서는 LSM(Linear Synchronous motor)에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있으나 LPM 기반 철도 차량 추진시스템에 대한 연구는 이루어지지 않고 있다. 그러나 LSM 추진 시스템에 비하여 LPM 추진 시스템은 우수한 등판 능력, 광역범위의 주행 가능 영역, 경량화에 따른 높은 에너지 효율, 건설비 저감등 다양한 장점을 가지고 있으며 충분한 전략성을 가지고 있다.

  • A railroad vehicle(Light weight electric rail car, Urban railroad, High-speed railroad) need to construct propulsion- system capacity experiment equipment to test performance or to estimate confidence. Experiment equipment in interior have been used Flywheel which is equal to the same inertia as railroad straight moment. But mechanical inertia using flywheel don't change inertia and can't embody traveling-struggle which is similar to actual traveling-struggle. We propose the method to embody electric railroad load system with inertia using electric servo motor in order to get the characteristic of real vehicle load, and confirm this algorithm with simulation and experiment.

  • This paper reviews the one of problems that may occure for the tram operating in Korea, it's a free-riding problem, I analyzed the feasibility of combining the introduction of world-class technology solution "IT". It is under review the introduction of tram in Su-won city, Chang-won city, Wi-Rye new town. Free-riding is one of the biggest issues of any agency that operates the public transportation system. It has been acting as the main factors threatening the financial integrity of the operating agency, and the ratio of free-riding is further increased. In this paper, I want to build a foundation for the development of the system by analyzing the economic feasibility for the introduction of free-riding prevention system.

  • After 1th line was built in 1974, the history of subway in Korea has been expended to 9th line which is under construction. It is time to prepare nation wide subway grounding system urgently according to the domestic electric standard that aligns to world wide standard by WTO/TBT treat (1995). Newly added grounding system to the fundamentally different system caused many problems. PSD(platform screen door) and other newly added equipment are also need grounding system. By the electrical code(established by Korea Electric Association), low voltage equipment(including grounding system) under 1,000V AC are in the process of change into IEC 60374. IEC 60364 standard will be added to the electrical code(established by Korea Electric Association) in 2007 and amended and after 3-5 years later, it will become a complete IEC 60364. So the purpose of this study is to compare the domestic rail road grounding system and suggest the standardized grounding system for the newly built subway.

  • The government have plans to improve the railway transport capacity and transport hub for the sustainable national transport and logistics system. Specially, there are much efforts to improve transportation capacity such as high speed transportation of rail freight, enlargement of BT train, development of double stack train, etc. between railway transport hubs. If the transport capacity between railway logistics hubs is increased as planned, we must increase the handling capacity of railway hub terminals. But there are limits to enlarge the terminal infrastructure because of investment scale, location circumstances and urban development plans. To ensure the capacity, with the minimum required enlargement of infrastructure, it is necessary to extremely increase the efficiency of terminal operations. For improving the efficiency, we have to introduce the efficient terminal operation systems based on u-IT and operation optimize technologies. In this paper, we analyse the issues and problems of railway terminals(including ICD) and suggest the concept of intelligent railway terminal and the construction components of technology.

Peak Power Optimization for Metro Railway using by Source Impedance Control (전원 임피던스 제어를 통한 도시철도 최대전력 최적화)

  • Urban railway with rectifiers is connected by parallel circuits because substations are joined by the power rail. Thus, if an input voltage of a substation is increased, then the voltage of rectifiers is also increased, and which leads to an increase in the peak power of the substation. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new method reducing the peak power of substations by adjusting the operation number of rectifiers. Its feasibility is exemplified by some simulations performed for Incheon subway Line 1 and GA(Genetic Algorithm) method has been applied to obtain the optimal input. Simulation results show that peak power can significantly be reduced using the method proposed in this paper.

  • Light Rail Transit(LRT) Systems with transport capacity between subway and bus(5,000-25,000 persons per hour) are being carried on over 100 lines around the world. In Korea, to solve the urban transportation problem, the introduction of LRT system has been proceeded positively. It is planned to develop the Korean standard LRT system in which safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness are emphasized. So we were able to make proto type of Rubber tired AGT system for LRT. This is capable of driverless operation using CBTC(Communication Based Train Control) of Moving Block System and is currently making an experiment for reliability in test-line. This study is focused on verifving the train tracking with CBTC in driverless and ATO mode through implementing the examination.

  • Recently, right rail transit (L.R.T.) systems become influential as a new traffic system in urban area to solve heavy traffic problems. However, there are little research results about the dynamic interaction problems between the vehicle and structural system, even though some studies far those static problems have been carried out. Therefore, first of ail, the dynamic equations of an interaction between vehicle system and surface roughness of the vehicle path are derived before developing the dynamic equations of vehicle-structure-surface roughness system, in this study. As a vehicle model, an automated guide-way transit (A.G.T.) system is adopted. Parametric study shows that the dynamic wheel loads of the vehicle system has a tendency to increase with vehicle speeds and stiffness of suspension system. However, those dynamic wheel loads have tendencies to decrease in according to loads of the vehicle system.
