친환경 캠퍼스 평가 기준 도출에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Assesment Guideline for Environment-Friendly University Campuses)

  • University campuses, in Korea, experienced expansion during the 1970's and exceeded its capacity in the 1980's. On the other hand, universities needed to deal with increasing capacity and expansion of its facilities. This study is carried out in three steps : developing the factors of environmental friendly assessment, designing an assessment table based on specific categories, and applying the categories to the campus of Seoul National University. The assessment factors and assessment table were designed through a survey of experts in landscaping, architecture, and urban planning. The elements of major categories were classified as follows; 1) Management of land and accessibility, 2) Pollution and waste matter, 3) Energy, 4) Natural resources, 5) Operation, maintenance and management of environmental friendly campus. And, this study classified five major categories into twenty subcategories on the evaluation of the environmental friendly campus. The twenty subcategories include various fields such as architecture, landscape architecture, environment, urban design, and social sciences etc., profound studies at this line should make more precise assesment guidelines.

Performance of Tall Buildings in Urban Zones: Lessons Learned from a Decade of Full-Scale Monitoring

  • The lack of systematic validation for the design process supporting tall buildings motivated the authors' research groups and their collaborators to found the Chicago Full-Scale Monitoring Program over a decade ago. This project has allowed the sustained in-situ observation of a collection of tall buildings now spanning worldwide. This paper overviews this program and the lessons learned in the process, ranging from appropriate technologies for response measurements to the factors influencing accurate prediction of dynamic properties all the way to how these properties then influence the prediction of response using wind tunnel testing and whether this response does indeed correlate with in-situ observations. Through this paper, these wide ranging subjects are addressed in a manner that demonstrates the importance of continued promotion and expansion of full-scale monitoring efforts and the ways in which these programs can provide true value-added to building owners and managers.

포아송 클러스터 강우생성 모형의 홍수 모의 적용성 평가 (The Application of the Poisson Cluster Rainfall Generation Model to the Flood Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 전역에 대하여 제작된 Modified Bartlett-Lewis Rectangular Pulse (MBLRP) 강우생성 모형의 모수 지도의 적용성을 홍수 재현의 관점에서 평가하였다. MBLRP 모형을 통해 생성된 가상 강우시계열을 사용하여 산정된 확률강우량은 관측치를 사용하여 산정된 확률강우량 보다 약5%에서 40%정도 작았고, 확률강우량의 재현기간이 클수록 과소산정의 정도가 크게 나타났다. 가상의 도시 유역에 MBLRP 모형을 적용하여 산정한 확률홍수량은 관측치를 사용하여 산정한 확률홍수량 보다 약20%에서 45%정도 작게 나타났고, 확률홍수량의 재현기간이 클수록, 그리고 유역의 불투수성이 작을수록 과소산정의 정도가 크게 나타났다.

주민참여 도구로써 가로경관 디자인 가이드라인 구성 연구 (A Study on The Structure and Contents of Streetscape Design Guideline as a Tool of Residents' Participation)

  • In order to create humanitarian living environment with sustainable ecological environment, urban regeneration project has been implemented recently seeking diverse methods for residents'participation stressing the process of communication with the residents changing from the existing one way planning by limited number of experts. Particularly, it is essential to develop systematic tools to promote the voluntary and positive participation of the residents because residents have to perform as the master of urban streetscape design project that requires sophisticated knowledge and experience and also because the residents have to function as sustainable maintainers and managers of their streetscape. This study intends to identify the organizational structure and major contents of design guideline as a tool to support the voluntary and positive participation of the residents in streetscape maintenance. For this purpose based on the structural system and characteristics of Chicago streetscape design guideline that was developed as tool for residents' participation, efforts were made to set up framework of design guideline for sustainable streetscape project with the users' participation with their overall understanding and trust. In detail, the author studied the resident participatory process for sustainable maintenance and management in a long term landscape project and the principle and theories of design planning for streetscape that supports the utilizing behaviors of the users, and how this information should be linked and organized to form the structure and contents of design guideline. As a tool supporting residents' participation and helping the residents perform the responsible function as sustainable maintainers and managers of their streetscape through social maturity with ontological sense of masters of their local community as they experience the gradual processes of their streetscape maintenance project, streetscape design guideline has its meaning in the efforts that tried to achieve deep participation of the residents through researches converging the two academic sectors of urban architecture and social psychology.

도시가로의 형태요소와 대기질과의 관계 연구 (Analyzing the Relationship between the Spatial Configuration of Urban Streets and Air Quality)

  • The traffic volume of Seoul is extremely high in comparison to other major cities in Korea, and the result has been harmful physical and mental exposure to pollution by Seoulites on a regular basis. The street air pollution is more important than the others, because the air pollution generated by street traffic directly impacts the health of nearby pedestrians. This problem requires urgent attention and resolution. Among the factors creating the air pollution originating from the street, is the configuration of streets, which have emerged as the most significant because it is related to air and pollutant dispersion. Therefore, this study was conducted under the assumption that street form affects the air quality. Study sites were classified by street characteristics, and air quality was analyzed in each class. Then the OSPM (Operational Street Pollution Model) was employed to simulate the relationship between street configuration and air quality of streets within the old city center and new city center in Seoul. After that this study analyzed the correlation between air pollution and the spatial configuration of urban streets (ex. street width, building height, building density, etc.) to determine their contributions to air pollution. The outcome of this study is as follows : First, the result that was derived from the correlation analysis between street configuration and air quality hewed that the air pollution of the street is influenced by the average height of building, width of the roads as well as traffic volume. On the roadside, the concentration level of $NO_2$ is mainly affected by the average height of building and the deviation of building height along the street and CO is affected by street width. The outcome of this study can be used as a basis for more sound urban design policies, and the promotion of desirable street environments for pedestrians.

  • In this study, we performed urrban climate simulation how both the factor of environmental land and artificial factors influence on the formation of urban temperature. With deducing quantitative data, this study could get more accurate results of the urban temperature using urban climate simulation system. In the case of natural land cover, it appeared that there are effects on the lowering temperature and the lower temperature rate appeared in the water land cover on the whole. This is considered as temperature in water land was low because of the characteristics of water land having evaporation latent heat was high and convective sensible heat was low. In case of building which has building coverage ratio, 5% with 10 floors and building coverage ratio, 15 % with 6 floors, it appears that the temperature in the water land is $33.6^{\circ}C$. In case of building coverage ratio 5%, temperature dropped when buildings has more than 4 stories. This is regarded as the size of building is bigger, the temperature dropped in relatively because of the fluctuation of the rate of solar heat from the land. At the present time, the urban temperature are higher because of various artificial factors in the city. With these results, this study supposed to be a basies of the future studies for considering both the composition of building coverate ratio and floor plan.

옥상녹화지의 생태적 효과와 이용 효과의 상관성 (Relationships Between Ecological and Utilizational Effectiveness of Green Roof Sites)

  • Roof greening recently emerged to be an important issue of environmental policies in a city. To cover roofs of buildings with green vegetation gives chances not only to improve urban environmental function but also provides the opportunities of environmental learning and convenience for users in the building. This study aimed to give directions for roof greening plan to designers by acknowledging the relationships between ecological and utilizational effectiveness. 10 sites and 15 variables were adopted to measure the relationships. As a result, no positive correlations was found between them. One of the results in correlation analysis among variables, however, showed that the roof gardens have high utilizational effectiveness only when a green roof was made by focusing on ecological functions in addition to the concepts that will guarantee user's convenience such as accessibility, entrance and exit, facilities for convenience and learning. The results implies that a green roof has to be designed considering multi-functional effects. Correlation between species of vegetation and the number of daily users, average staying hours, and attending level for environment educational programs were not significant. These findings imply that when a green roof has to be take high utilizational effectiveness, both plentiful vegetation species and design concepts for users' convenience are should be considered.

  • There are many agendas and discussion subjects for BIM-based Criteria Design phase. At that time, some problems are occurred by software compatibility, simple repetitive tasks, rework caused by missing information etc. In this study, we focus on solving that problems by applying API(Application Programming Interface) method. For effective study, we construct Criteria Design process by using DSM (Dependency Structure Matrix) and study applicability of API. It will be effective for time-consuming task and simply labor-intensive tasks by applying API. we expect improving BIM-based Design Process and Data quality, work productivity without missing information and shapes for using API.

도시하수도망에 대한 유출모형의 남용과 유출해석 (Runoff Analysis and Application of Runoff Model of Urban Storm Drainage Network)

  • This research is to show the application of runoff model and runoff analysis of urban storm drainage network. the runoff models that were used for this research were RRL, ILLUDAS, and SWMM applicative object basin were Geucknak-chun and Sangmu drainage basin located in Seo-Gu, Kwangju. The runoff analysis employed the design storm that distributed the rainfall intensity according to the return period after the huff's method. The result from the comparative analysis of the three runoff models was as follows The difference of peak runoff by return period was 20-30% at Sangmu drainage area of $3.17 Km^2$, while less than 10% at Geucknak-chun drainage area of $12.7 Km^2$. The peak runoff were similar to all models. At the runoff hydrograph the times between rising and descending points were in the sequence of RRL, ILLUDAS and SWMM, but the peak times were similar to all models. The conveyance coefficient to examine the conveyance of the existing drainage network was 0.94-1.37, which means insecure, in Geucknak-chun drainage basin and 0.69-1.16, which means secure, in sangmu drainage basin.

도시부 평면교차로의 종단경사 적정범위 도출 연구 (A Study on Relevant Range of Vertical vertical grade at Urban Intersections)

  • 도시부 교차로의 설계는 지방부 교차로와 근본적으로 달라야하나, 현행 도시부 교차로 설계는 지방부 교차로 설계기준을 준용하고 있다. 이에 국내외 교차로 종단경사 관련기준 문헌고찰, 현장조사 및 비교분석 등의 연구를 통해 향후 도시부에 적용할 적정 교차로 종단경사를 제시하였다. 본 연구는 도시부 및 지방부 교차로의 차이점을 비교 분석하고, 국내외 교차로 종단경사 설계기준을 검토한 후 적정 설계기준(안)을 도출하였다. 도출된 설계기준(안)의 검증을 위해 현장조사를 시행하고 통계분석을 시행하여 설계기준을 정립하였다. 여러 지침들을 비교하여 분석한 결과 도시부 교차로 종단경사 기준은 2.5~3% 정도가 적절할 것으로 판단되고, 부득이한 경우 5%정도가 적정경사인 것으로 판단되었다. 이러한 결과를 검증하기 위해 현장조사를 시행한 결과 0.0부터 8.6까지 다양한 종단경사 데이터를 확보하였다. 통계검증을 위한 사고데이터를 추가로 수집하여 SPSS를 활용한 상관관계 분석을 시행하였다. 95% 유의수준으로 분석한 결과 정면충돌사고율과 차대차추돌사고율이 종단경사와 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 교차로 사고건수를 줄이기 위해 해당 변수들의 영향을 최소화 하기위한 노력을 하여야 하고, 그러한 노력의 일환으로 적정 교차로 종단경사를 적용한 설계가 이루어져야 함을 확인 할 수 있었다. 따라서 도시부 교차로의 종단경사는 1~3%의 적정수준을 유지할 필요가 있고, 부득이한 경우에도 3~5%를 넘지 않도록 설계시 주의를 기울여야 한다.
