  • The recent advance of sensor networks and ubiquitous techniques allow collecting and analyzing of the data which overcome the limitation imposed by time and space in real-time for making decisions. Also, analysis and prediction of collected data can support useful and necessary information to users. The collected data in sensor networks environment is the stream data which has continuous, unlimited and sequential properties. Because of the continuous, unlimited and large volume properties of stream data, managing stream data is difficult. And the stream data needs dynamic processing method because of the memory constraint and access limitation. Accordingly, we analyze correlation stream data using principal component analysis. And using result of analysis, it helps users for making decisions.

  • This thesis shows controlling the mobile robot with distance information gotten with ultrasonic sensors, and analysis of captured image. The ultrasonic sensors supplies more accurate distance data in limited area but shows unstable data unlimited area while image data generally shows stable data, but this requires so much time because of amounts of calculation. So this thesis considers the merits of ultrasonic sensors and image to implement robot system .

  • 본 논문에서는 무제한단어 음성합성 시스템인 한소리에 대해서 간략히 기술하고 청취실험을 통한 성능평가에 대해 논한다. 음성합성시스템의 음질을 결정하는 주요 요소들은 합성의 기본단위, 합성방법, 음운학적 전처리방법 및 운율조절방법이다. 한소리 합성시스템은 반음소를 음성합성의 기본단위로 하고, 형식형태소를 이용 음성학적 전처리를 실행하며, 개선된 한국어 운율조절방법이 적용되고, 음성단편조합방식을 합성방식을 사용한다. 청취실험결과 매우 한소리 합성시스템의 합성음이 자연스러움을 알 수 있다.

Fluid Queueing Model with Fractional Brownian Input

  • We consider an unlimited fluid queueing model which has Fractional Brownian motion(FBM) as an input and a single server of constant service rate. By using the result of Duffield and O'Connell(6), we investigate the asymptotic tail-distribution of the stationary work-load. When there are multiple homogeneous FBM inputs, the workload distribution is similar to that of the queue with one FBM input; whereas for the heterogeneous sources the asymptotic work-load distributions is dominated by the source with the largest Hurst parameter.

  • The following lessons have been learned from the application of reliability methods in the practice of geotechnical engineering: 1. Establishing Goals Is Important; 2. Mitigating Consequences Can Be Effective; 3. Performance Depends on Systems; 4. Physical Factors Are Important in Statistical Models; 5. Too Much and Too Little Conservatism Are Both Problems; 6. Value of Information Depends on Decision Making; and 7. Effective Communication Is Essential. While the potential for application of reliability methods in the future is unlimited, there are major needs related to each of these lessons that will have to be addressed in order to realize this potential.

Scheduling for a Flexible Manufacturing Cell with Transportation Time (유연가공셀에서 운반시간을 고려한 일정계획)

  • This research is concerned with production scheduling for a flexible manufacturing cell which consists of two machine centers with unlimited buffer space and a single automatic guided vehicle. The objective is to develop and evaluate heuristic scheduling procedures that minimize maximum completion time. A numerical example illustrates the proposed algorithm. The heuristic algorithm is implemented for various cases by SLAM II. The results show that the proposed algorithm provides better solutions than Johnson's. It also gets good solutions to minimize mean flowtime.

  • Flywheel energy storage systems have advantages over other types of energy storage devices in such aspects as unlimited charge/discharge cycles and environmental friendliness. In this paper we propose a millimeter scale flywheel energy storage device. The flywheel is supported by a pair of passive magnetic bearings and rotated by a toroidally wound electric motor/generator. The geometry of the bearings is optimized for the maximum dynamic performance.

  • This paper proposes the speech synthesis method using Korean prosodic rules as an important technique for Korean speech synthesis. The prosodic model for speech synthesis is composed of accentual phrases and intonational phrases which are derived from hierarchical structure of prosody. This prosodic model controls duration time, intonation and pause of synthesized speech. Synthesis units constitute of demi-syllables and VCV-triphones which can make unlimited vocabularies, and TD-PSOLA is used a sthe synthesis method.
