  • This paper deals with the problem of the global stabilization for a class of tension leg platform (TLP) nonlinear control systems. It is well known that, in general, the global asymptotic stability of the TLP subsystems does not imply the global asymptotic stability of the composite closed-loop system. Finding system parameters for stabilizing the control system is also an issue need to be concerned. In this paper, we give additional sufficient conditions for the global stabilization of a TLP nonlinear system. In particular, we consider a class of NN based Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy TLP systems. Using the so-called parallel distributed compensation (PDC) controller, we prove that this class of systems can be globally asymptotically stable. The proper design of system parameters are found by a swarm intelligence algorithm called Evolved Bat Algorithm (EBA). An illustrative example is given to show the applicability of the main result.

  • This study is about the class model that can demonstrate the modeling ability using the spatial perception capability on basic modeling required for jewelry design majors and the most important perspective method in jewelry design. The outputs were obtained by presenting the topics for creative activities to students after theoretical explaining how to present a spatial sense and presenting practical classes on basic shapes, stereoscopic shapes and perspective methods. While the existing basic molding classes were only practical classes, this study presented students with a class model that allows them to use creativity, basic perspective, and spatial sense together. And it was found out evaluation method that both students and professors can relate to each other through the intensive education effects and clear evaluation standards. I hope that this paper will continue to study more diverse materials and convergent class models.

  • The porcine major histocompatibility complex (MHC) is called swine leukocyte antigen (SLA), which controls immune responses and transplantation reactions. The SLA is mapped on pig chromosome 7 (SSC7) near the centromere. In this study, 3 class I (SLA-1, SLA-3, and SLA-2) and 3 class II (DRB1, DQB1, and DQA) genes were used for investigation of SLA haplotypes in Yucatan miniature pigs in Korea. This pig breed is a well-known model organism for biomedical research worldwide. The current study indicated that Korean Yucatan pig population had 3 Class I haplotypes (Lr-4.0, Lr-6.0, and Lr-25.0) and 3 class II haplotypes (Lr-0.5, Lr-0.7, and Lr-0.25). The combinations of SLA class I and II haplotype together, 2 homozygous (Lr-4.5/4.5 and Lr-6.7/6.7) and 3 heterozygous (Lr-4.5/6.7, Lr-4.5/25.25, and Lr-6.7/25.25) haplotypes were identified, including previously unidentified new heterozygous haplotypes (Lr-4.5/4.7). In addition, a new SLA allele typing method using Agilent 2100 bioanalyzer was developed that permitted more rapid identification of SLA haplotypes. These results will facilitate the breeding of SLA homozygous Yucatan pigs and will expedite the possible use of these pigs for the biomedical research, especially xenotransplantation research.

  • The demand to provide students with opportunities to find such competencies in university education has become a reality at a time when there is an urgent need to cultivate talented people suitable for the era of the 4th industrial revolution. Therefore, this study established the definition of a research performance-based class, constructed a teaching-learning design model to develop practical research performance capabilities required for university students, and analyzed it by applying it to the classes that are actually open. The developed research performance-based instructional model was constructed by applying it to the curriculum of S University's major and liberal arts subjects, and it was conducted as a research performance-based curriculum in which practical research performance topics for major-related research performance were selected along with major knowledge cultivation, and the results were obtained based on the performance results after solving the problem. In addition to acquiring basic research methodology through research performance-based classes, practical research performance problems are set to derive results. The basic research methodology allowed students to acquire essential resolutions in a research environment such as scientific inquiry methods, research notebook writing methods, thesis writing methods, academic conferences, and understanding patents. As a result of applying it to the class, a representative model of research-based self-directed classes at universities was presented by enhancing learners' self-esteem and obtaining visible research results (technology transfer, academic thesis registration, academic presentation award, patent registration, and academic UCC competition award).

  • $Sr_2Si_5N_8:Eu^{2+}$, one of the most recently developed phosphors for use in white light emitting diodes, exhibits a two-peak emission. Namely, the emission band of $Sr_2Si_5N_8:Eu^{2+}$ is deconvoluted into two Gaussian peaks irrespective of the $Eu^{2+}$ concentration. We examined the two-peak emission of $Sr_2Si_5N_8:Eu^{2+}$ by analyzing the time-resolved photoluminescence spectra. We revealed that the two-peak emission was closely associated with the energy transfer taking place between $Eu^{2+}$ activators located at two different crystallographic sites in the $Sr_2Si_5N_8$ structure. The experimental results coincided well with the rate equation model involving the crystallographic information of the host.

  • In this study, to control the heading angle of a ship, which is constantly subjected to various internal and external disturbances during the voyage, an LADRC (linear active disturbance rejection control) design that focuses more on improving the disturbance removal performance was proposed. The speed rate of change of the ship's heading angle due to the turn of the rudder angle was selected as a significant factor, and the nonlinear model of the ship's maneuvering equation, including the steering gear, was treated as a total disturbance. It is the similar process with an LADRC design for the first-order transfer function model. At this time, the gains of the controller included in LADRC and the gains of the extended state observer were tuned to RCGAs (real-coded genetic algorithms) to minimize the integral time-weighted absolute error as an evaluation function. The simulation was performed by applying the proposed GA-LADRC controller to the heading angle control of the Mariner class vessel. In particular, it was confirmed that the proposed controller satisfactorily maintains and follows the set course even when the disturbances such as nonlinearity, modelling error, uncertainty and noise of the measurement sensor are considered.

  • The eco-hydrodynamic model was used to estimate the environmental capacity in Gamak Bay. It is composed of the three-dimensional hydrodynamic model for the simulation of water flow and ecosystem model for the simulation of phytoplankton. As the results of three-dimensional hydrodynamic simulation, the computed tidal currents are toward the inner part of bay through Yeosu Harbor and the southern mouth of the bay during the flood tide, and being in the opposite direction during the ebb tide. The computed residual currents were dominated southward flow at Yeosu Harbor and sea flow at mouth of bay, The comparison between the simulated and observed tidal ellipses at three station showed fairly good agreement. The distributions of COD in the Gamak bay were simulated and reproduced by an ecosystem model. The simulated results of COD were fairly good coincided with the observed values within relative error of 1.93%, correlation coefficient(r) of 0.88. In order to estimate the environmental capacity in Gamak bay, the simulations were performed by controlling quantitatively the pollution loads with an ecosystem model. In case the pollution loads including streams become 10 times as high as the present loads, the results showed the concentration of COD to be $1.33{\sim}4.74mg/{\ell}(mean\;2.28mg/{\ell})$, which is the third class criterion of Korean standards for marine water quality In case the pollution loads including streams become 30 times as high as the present loads, the results showed the concentration of COD to be $1.38{\sim}7.87mg/{\ell}(mean\;2.97mg/{\ell})$, which is the third class criterion of Korean standards for marine water quality. In case the pollution loads including streams become 50 times as high as the present loads, the results showed the concentration of COD to be $1.44{\sim}9.80mg/{\ell}(mean\;3.56mg/{\ell})$, which is the third class criterion of Korean standards for marine water quality.

  • In deep learning classification tasks, most models frequently assume that all labels are available for the training datasets. As such strategies to learn new concepts from unlabeled datasets are scarce. In fingerprint classification tasks, most of the fingerprint datasets are labelled using the subject/individual and fingerprint datasets labelled with finger type classes are scarce. In this paper, authors have developed approaches of classifying fingerprint images using the majorly known fingerprint classes. Our study provides a flexible method to learn new classes of fingerprints. Our classifier model combines both the clustering technique and use of deep learning to cluster and hence label the fingerprint images into appropriate classes. The K means clustering strategy explores the label uncertainty and high-density regions from unlabeled data to be clustered. Using similarity index, five clusters are created. Deep learning is then used to train a model using a publicly known fingerprint dataset with known finger class types. A prediction technique is then employed to predict the classes of the clusters from the trained model. Our proposed model is better and has less computational costs in learning new classes and hence significantly saving on labelling costs of fingerprint images.
