프로그램 교육목표 개선을 위한 수행문제분석 및 추진전략 수립 (Performance Problems Analysis and Establishment of Action Strategies for Program Educational Objective Improvement)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze performance problems in establishing and improving program educational objectives (PEO) and to set up action strategies for the civil engineering program at the A university. To fulfill the purpose, according to the typical needs analysis model, research problems were defined, current conditions and desired conditions were identified, discrepancies and their reasons were examined, and action strategies were derived. Current conditions and desired conditions were identified by analyzing the A civil engineering program's self study report, conducting surveys and interviews with constituents. After the discrepancies and the reasons were examined, performance problems and field force analysis were conducted to draw short term and long term action strategies to improve PEO. Short term action strategies were to announce PEO to current students, to hold faculty seminars to establish and to improve PEO, to renew the list of constituents regularly, to composite an annual milestone, to define roles of the committees, and to enforce educational opportunity toward industrial advisory board members. For the long term strategies, improvement and documentation of PEO assessment system, collection and analysis of constituents' suggestions, establishment of effective accreditation support system, and arrangement of compensation system for the faculties who are in charge of engineering education accreditation responsibility.

Dynamic response of railway vehicles under unsteady aerodynamic forces caused by local landforms

  • When a railway vehicle runs in crosswinds, the unsteady aerodynamic forces acting on the train induced by the vehicle speed, crosswind velocity and local landforms are a common problem. To investigate the dynamic performance of a railway vehicle due to the influence of unsteady aerodynamic forces caused by local landforms, a vehicle aerodynamic model and vehicle dynamic model were established. Then, a wind-loaded vehicle system model was presented and validated. Based on the wind-loaded vehicle system model, the dynamic response performance of the vehicle, including safety indexes and vibration characteristics, was examined in detail. Finally, the effects of the crosswind velocity and vehicle speed on the dynamic response performance of the vehicle system were analyzed and compared.

Development and validation of FRAT code for coated particle fuel failure analysis

  • TRISO-coated particle fuel is widely used in high temperature gas cooled reactors and other advanced reactors. The performance of coated fuel particle is one of the fundamental bases of reactor safety. The failure probability of coated fuel particle should be evaluated and determined through suitable fuel performance models and methods during normal and accident condition. In order to better facilitate the design of coated particle fuel, a new TRISO fuel performance code named FRAT (Fission product Release Analysis Tool) was developed. FRAT is designed to calculate internal gas pressure, mechanical stress and failure probability of a coated fuel particle. In this paper, FRAT was introduced and benchmarked against IAEA CRP-6 benchmark cases for coated particle failure analysis. FRAT's results agree well with benchmark values, showing the correctness and satisfactory applicability. This work helps to provide a foundation for the credible application of FRAT.

IPA 기법을 활용한 과학영재교육 수혜자들의 교육프로그램에 대한 인식 분석 (An Analysis on the Science Gifted Education Recipients' Perception for Education Program using an Importance-Performance Analysis)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 IPA 기법을 활용하여 과학영재교육 수혜자들이 경험한 교육프로그램의 중요도와 만족도에 대한 인식을 분석하고, 과학영재들의 요구에 맞는 교육프로그램 제공을 위한 개선사항을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 과학영재교육 수혜자 288명을 대상으로 설문 및 심층면담을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0을 이용하여 교육프로그램에 대한 중요도와 만족도의 차이를 분석하기 위해 대응표본 t-검정을 실시하였고, 교육프로그램 개선 사항을 탐색하기 위해 중요도-만족도 분석(Importance-Performance Analysis; IPA)을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 과학영재교육 수혜자들은 대체로 기존의 영재교육 프로그램에 대한 중요도보다 만족도가 낮게 나타났다. 또한 학교 급에 따라 요구하는 교육프로그램의 유형에 차이가 있었다. 즉, 초등학교 단계일수록 현장견학, 캠프 등 체험 중심의 교육, 중학교 단계는 탐구활동 중심의 교육, 고등학교 단계는 연구 중심의 교육을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 과학영재들의 진로탐색이나 리더십 향상을 위한 교육프로그램은 학교 급에 관계없이 시급하게 개선이 필요한 유형으로 인식하고 있었다. 이 연구는 착수효과를 고려하여 과학영재들이 요구하는 교육프로그램 유형을 분석했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

일개 국립대학병원의 진료.교육.연구 기능에 대한 평가 (Evaluation of Patient Care, Education, and Research as Indicators of University Hospital Performance)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the environments of patient care, education, and research as indicators of university hospital performance. The objective data for this study were collected by secondary data. The subjective data were collected by a total of 523 questionnaire survey interviews conducted in C university hospital, of which 123 were students, interns, or residents, 76 were professors, and the remaining 324 were patients. The major statistical methods used for the analysis were t-test and ANOVA. We found that the environment of patient care is better than the environment of education and research in C university hospital. While the concern for patient care of C university hospital was about 60%, the equivalent figures for education and research were both 20%. And the patients' satisfaction level was higher than the others. The environment of education and research was found to be deficient in some aspects, especially in such areas as facilities, equipment, and investment. In particular for professors the time for research was very limited because of the demands of patient care. These findings clearly demonstrate that university hospitals need to pay greater attention to the areas of education and research, as well as to patient care. This article concludes with a discussion and summary and presents issues in need of further study.

인공호흡기 관련 감염관리 교육이 중환자실 간호사의 감염관리 수행도와 폐렴 발생에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) Control Education on ICU Nurses' Infection Control Performance and Incidence of Pneumonia)

  • Purpose: This study was intended to examine the effects of educating the Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) control for the nurses working in the intensive care unit (ICU). Methods: The study was conducted using one group pre-post test research design. The education on infection control was provided to 31 nurses working at the medical and surgical ICUs. A comparison was then made in terms of the degree of performing infection control a month before, two weeks after, and three months after the education respectively. The incidences of VAP at the medical and surgical ICUs were compared for 3 months before and after the education. Results: The average performance scores between before and after the education showed statistically significant differences. Compared to three months before, the incidence of VAP after the education was decreased slightly from 5.48 to 1.88 per 1,000 ventilator days. Conclusion: It is necessary to continue the VAP education, specifically on infection prevention and control methods and the consistent evaluation of its effects as well as the development of standardized educational program should be approached extensively in further studies.

중학교 과학 1을 위한 수행평가 도구 개발 - 힘과 운동 단원을 중심으로 - (Development of Performance Assessment Tools for the 7th Grade Science - Focused on the Force and Motion Unit-)

  • 수행평가의 성공적인 현장 적용올 위해서는 수행평가의 이론적 연구뿐 아니라 현장 적용을 위한 실천적연구도 필요하다. 이를 위해, 본 연구에서는 교사 자신이 직접 수행평가 도구를 개발할 수 있도록 하기위해, 교육전문가와 교사가 함께 연구모임을 가지면서 연구를 진행하였다. 연구결과는 크게 3가지로 제시하였다. 첫째, 연구모임을 통해 교사들은 수행평가의 개발과 현장적용을 위해서 여러 가지 측면들을 논의하였고, 그러한 논의는 크게 4가지 영역으로 구분 될 수 있었다. 둘째, 그러한 논의에 기초하여 5가지 개발방향이 확정되었고, 그에 따라 총 7개 유형의 수행평가 문항이 데이터베이스식으로 개발되었다. 수행평가 문항의 개발 목적과 평가시기 및 횟수, 개발시 특별히 고려한 점 등도 함께 제시하였다. 셋째, 개발된 평가문항은 다른 중학교 교사 2명에서 몇 달간 자유스럽게 적용하도록 하였고, 적용 후 각 유형의 사용에 대한 면담을 실시하였다. 면담결과는 수행평가 유형별로 요약하여 제시하였다.

간호대학생 대상의 SBAR를 활용한 인수인계 교육 프로그램이 자기효능감, 의사소통능력과 임상수행능력에 미치는 효과 (Development of Handoff Education Program using SBAR for Nursing Students and Its Effect on Self-efficacy, Communication Ability and Clinical Performance Ability)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a handoff education program for nursing students and examine the effects of it on nursing students' self-efficacy, communication ability, and clinical performance ability. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was used with a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest method. The experimental group (n=31) received handoff education using SBAR; the control group (n=31) received non-SBAR handoff education. Self-efficacy, communication ability, clinical performance ability were measured to evaluate the effects of the program. Results: The experimental group showed significant improvements in self-efficacy (p<.001), and communication ability (p=.025) compared to the control group. However, there was no significant difference in the clinical performance ability between the groups (p=.618). Conclusion: The results indicate that the handoff education program using SBAR is effective in improving nursing students'self-efficacy and communication ability.

PSCAD/EMTDC를 이용한 주파수조정용 ESS의 계통영향성 평가 모델링에 관한 연구 (A Study on an Evaluation Modeling of Power System Performance for Frequency Regulation ESS Based on the PSCAD/EMTDC)

  • Recently, the large scaled energy storage system(ESS) which has various functions such as peak saving, demand management, output stabilization of renewable energy and frequency regulation(FR) is being energetically installed and operated. Especially, as the use case of frequency regulation ESS, the KEPCO has demonstrated the total of 376[MW] ESS since 2014. However, there are no operational experiences and international technical standards on frequency regulation application in ESS. Therefore, this paper propose the evaluation algorithm for power system performance of ESS by considering the frequency characteristics between governor of existing generator and frequency regulation ESS, in order to verify the power system performance of ESS. And also, this paper propose an evaluation modeling for small scaled power system including the existing generator, frequency control ESS and customer loads based on the PSCAD/EMTDC S/W. From the simulation results in 360[MW] model power system, it is confirmed that frequency regulation ESS has better performances than conventional generators.

서울특별시 소재 보육시설과 유치원 종사자의 식품위생.영양 인지도 및 수행도 조사 (Employee Food-hygiene and Nutrition Awareness and Performance at Child Care Centers and Kindergartens Located in Seoul)

  • This study was conducted to investigate employee food-hygiene and nutrition awareness and performance and to study the current education programs for children at child care centers and kindergartens located in Seoul, Republic of Korea. A self-evaluated type of questionnaire was developed for foodservice employees and teachers using a five-point Likert scale. Employees with an employment history of <1 year and who were <30 years old had the lowest scores for food-hygiene and nutrition awareness and performance. Employees with a cooking license had a higher awareness score regarding cross-contamination than those without a license. Higher nutritional awareness and performance scores were also observed for employees who had more experience as cooks and who had received a nutrition education than those who did not. Approximately 94% and 76.4% of the employees had experience in sanitation and nutrition education, respectively. Most teachers responded that food sanitation-nutrition education for children seemed necessary in a child-care center; however, only 63.9% of the teachers actually taught sanitation-nutrition education to children. The biggest limitation to conduct food sanitation-nutrition education was the "lack of professionalism" of teachers, because only 48.1% of teachers had received a sanitation- utrition education. Thus, a food sanitation-nutrition education program for foodservice employees and teachers must be developed and implemented actively to improve the quality of food service and nutrition education in child care centers and kindergartens.
