  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest directions for improving Authentication Of A Barrier-Free Living Environment(BF) of passenger facilities. Methods: We examined the parts (terms, Authentications, and dimensions) where the difference in the legal standards between the relevant items in the "ACT ON GUARANTEE OF PROMOTION OF CONVENIENCE OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, THE AGED, PREGNANT WOMEN, ETC." and the "ACT ON PROMOTION OF THE TRANSPORTATION CONVENIENCE OF MOBILITY DISADVANTAGED PERSONS", which are the basis of Authentication of BF for buildings and passenger facilities. We also mention the differences by comparing and analyzing Authentications of BF. In addition, we survey the current status of passenger facilities in Korea that have been granted and not granted Authentication of BF of passenger facilities. and we describe improvement directions of Authentications of BF. Implications: Improvement of Authentications of BF should be made in accordance with relevant laws, and improvement of Authentications of BF to reflect various situations in the field is needed. Authentications of BF according to the type of passenger facilities should be distinguished.

  • Mixture design of self-compacting concrete is a typical multi-criteria decision making problem and conventional mixture designs are based on the low level engineering method like trials and errors through iteration method to satisfy the various requirements. This study concerns with performing the straightforward multiobjective design optimization of economic SCC mixture considering relative importances of the various requirements and cost-effectives of SCC. Total five requirements of 28day compressive strength, filling ability, segregation stability, material cost and mass were taken into consideration to prepare the objective function to be formulated in form of the weighted-multiobjective mixture design optimization problem. Economic SCC mixture computational design can be given in a rational way which considering material costs and the relative importances of the requiremets and from the result of this study it is expected that the development of SCC mixtue computational design and the consequent univeral concrete material design optimization methodology can be advanced.

  • Purpose: Recently accomodations are required to apply universal designs to all the types of rooms in order to increase accessibility to everyone. Especially universal designs are considered as one of the important methods to help disabled users utilizing accomodations with minimizing difficulties. The current research attempted to apply universal designs to ordinary rooms for promoting usage of rooms in accomodations. Methods: The field study were executed about all the types of rooms and shared spaces in 42 accomodations in 14 cities, Also, the managers working in the studied accomodations were asked to answer the online survey about awareness in universal design. Results: In many cases, ordinary rooms are partially renovated for the disabled with adding some convenient facilities. This raises negative recognition for the rooms specially designed for the disabled as well as absence of needs for universal designed rooms. Meanwhile, universal designed rooms have been required not only for the ordinary but also for the disabled. Implications: Regarding adopting universal design to rooms in accomodations, it should be reviewed throughout all the processes from designing to planning.

A Study on the Application of Universal Design according to Room Types of Accommodation - Through classification and analysis of room types and FGI (숙박시설의 객실 유형에 따른 유니버설디자인 적용 방안에 대한 연구 - 장애인객실과 일반객실 유형비교·분석 및 FGI를 통하여)

  • Purpose : Due to the shortage of the room for the disabled, it may be difficult to use the accommodation for the disabled (especially wheelchair users). The purpose of this paper is to propose a universal design(UD) application for all rooms to solve the problems caused by the shortage and the decrease of the usage rate of the rooms for the disabled. Methods : Classify and analyze the type of room and bathroom according to the survey. The space of the room is classified into six types mainly based on the relation and location among the entrance, the bathroom, and the bedroom. Also, the bathroom is classified into 20 types considering the positional relationship with the entrance and between sanitary fixture. By using these types, FGI survey will be conducted and the application of UD will be reviewed and presented. Results : We analyzed by using the types of the room and the bathroom. One of majority type in the actual research and two of UD applicable types from FGI, are shown UD application. In addition, the bathroom were analyzed about four types from FGI. The room were shown about the activity space and the furniture layout for UD. The bathroom were shown about the space for the entrance, the internal activitiy space and the arrangement of the sanitary fixture. Implications : By comparing and analyzing through type classification, it was found that universal design can be applied to all rooms. Therefore, it is expected that the UD will be activated in all rooms of the accommodation.

  • Wearable computer systems can use the wireless universal serial bus (WUSB) that refers to USB technology that is merged with WiMedia PHY/MAC technical specifications. In this paper, we focus on an integrated system of the wireless USB over the IEEE 802.15.6 wireless body area networks (WBAN) for wireless wearable computer systems supporting U-health services. And a communication structure that performs the time-synchronization is proposed for WUSB over IEEE 802.15.6 hierarchical protocol. Proposed time-synchronization mechanisms adopt the WBAN Polling Access and combine it with a time-synchronization middleware using time stamps. In our performance evaluations, time-synchronization performances with only WBAN Polling Access scheme are analyzed first. After that, performances combined with the time-synchronization middleware are analyzed to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed time-synchronization structure in WUSB over IEEE 802.15.6.

In this paper, we focus on an integrated system of the wireless USB over the IEEE 802.15.6 wireless body area networks (WBAN) for wireless wearable computer systems supporting U-health services. And a communication structure that performs the hibernation for low power consumption is proposed for WUSB over IEEE 802.15.6 hierarchical protocol. In the proposed hibernation mechanisms, WUSB communications are permitted at each m-periodic inactive periods of WBAN superframes by using the WBAN information of Wakeup Period and Wakeup Phase message fields. In our performance evaluations, performances according to amount of WUSB traffic and Wakeup Periods are analyzed respectively to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed hibernation structure in WUSB over IEEE 802.15.6.
