In this paper, three kinds of the existing idealized structural units, namely the idealized beam-column units the idealized unstiffened plate unit and the idealized stiffened plate unit are expanded to deal with the excessive tension-deformation effects. A simplified mechanical model far the stress-strain relationship of steel members under tensile load is suggested. The 1/3-scale hull model for a leander class frigate under sagging moment tested by Dow is analyzed, and it is shown that the excessive tension-deformation is a significant factor affecting the progressive collapse behavior, particularly in the post-collapse range.

In this pager, we present IGBT VVVF inverters as a 1C1M propulsion system for electric car. This inverters are composed of high power IGBT's and controlled by compact control units. The control unit performs full digital control by using 32bit DSP and microconteroller. By using CAN-bus, high speed network is constructed within tow control units. The stack is simplified and optimized by using plate bus and IGBT driver units of hybrid-type.

In recent offshore industries, various ambiguous terms have been used without clear definition or classification, causing difficulties in legal, technical, and educational understanding and usage. For an example, the commonly used term of 'Offshore Plant' in Korea is not an universal word technically. There has been no clear technical or legal definition about the 'Offshore Plant' and its classification is also very ambiguous; sometimes it is used to refer offshore oil and gas production platform or it is used to mean offshore renewable power generation plant in some cases. To build a conceptual framework, therefore, this paper suggests a classification of offshore units (1) using internationally agreed terms, (2) agreed with the technical classification used by the ship classification society and (3) being able to include not only the current but also future concepts of offshore units.

In this article we first investigate a sort of unit-IFP ring by which Antoine provides very useful information to ring theory in relation with the structure of coefficients of zero-dividing polynomials. Here we are concerned with the whole shape of units and nilpotent elements in such rings. Next we study the properties of unit-IFP rings through group actions of units on nonzero nilpotent elements. We prove that if R is a unit-IFP ring such that there are finite number of orbits under the left (resp., right) action of units on nonzero nilpotent elements, then R satisfies the descending chain condition for nil left (resp., right) ideals of R and the upper nilradical of R is nilpotent.

This paper presents and compares two block replacement policies under random use durations. The units are put in service altogether and then idle for some time. The time durations during which units are put in service are random variables. Two block replacement policies, called N-policy and T-policy, are presented. Under N-policy, units are replaced altogether after the Nth use. Under T-policy, units are replaced altogether at the end of the use after cumulative use time T elapses. The failures during use durations are replaced by new ones individually. The cost rate expressions under the policies are derived for exponential use durations. Numerical examples are presented to compare the performances of the two policies.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the types and characteristics of temporary small-sized housing units for single-person households. A document research method and case studies were used to analyze and classified the spatial characteristics and types of the temporary dwelling spaces since 2000. Findings of this study were as follows: temporary and simplified dwelling spaces were developed by the concept of impermanence for single-person households in modern society. In order to conform the concept of temporary dwelling for small-sized housing units of single-person households, the characteristics were divided into three aspects. 'Transporting' by wheel and rotation and vehicles, 'Transforming' by adapting, assembling disassembling, and folding unfolding, and 'Wearing Carrying' by inflatable and tented types. It attempted to resolve the concept of temporarity through the experiment so that they might apply to the space of contemporary city.

본 논문에서는 크게 2단계에 걸쳐 다양한 형태의 얼굴을 가진 2차원 애니메이션 상의 캐릭터 얼굴구성요소를 추출하고 표정을 분석한다. 첫 번째 단계에서는, 기존의 얼굴인식 및 표정인식 분야에서 이용되었던 동적메쉬모델을 간소화하여 캐릭터 얼굴에 적용하기 위한 최적의 표준 메쉬모델을 제작하고, 이 모델을 사용하여 얼굴구성요소의 위치 및 형태정보를 추출한다. 두 번째 단계에서는, 앞 단계에서 추출된 3가지 얼굴구성요소(눈썹, 눈, 입)를 사용하여 FACS(Facial Action Coding System)에 정의된 AU(Action Units) 44개 중 12개의 AU를 사용하여 캐릭터의 5까지 기본적인 얼굴 표정에 대해 분석 및 정의한다. 본 논문에서 정의한 AU로 기본적인 5가지 얼굴표정에 대해 표정분석 정확도를 측정하였고, 서로 다른 캐릭터에 실험함으로써 제안된 AU정의의 타당성을 제시한다.

We prove that $Cl(D)=Cl({\Gamma})$ and that D is a PvMD (resp., GCD-domain, Mori domain, Krull domain, factorial domain) if and only if ${\Gamma}$ is a PvMS(resp., GCD-semigroup, Mori semigroup, Krull semigroup, factorial semigroup). Let U=U(D) be the group of units of D. We also show that if D is integrally closed, then $D[{\Gamma}]$, the semigroup ring of ${\Gamma}$ over D, is an integrally closed domain with $Cl(D[{\Gamma}])=Cl(D){\oplus}Cl(D)$; hence D is a PvMD (resp., GCD-domain, Krull domain, factorial domain) if and only if $D[{\Gamma}]$ is.

We consider a production system with post-operation and early set-up. As soon as there are no more units(raw materials) to process and the machine becomes idle, it undergoes a post-operation. After the post operation, if the number of waiting units is greater than or equal to m, it begins a set-up. After the set-up, if the number of units is greater than or equal to N($\geq$m), it begins to process the units. We first analyze the system by employing the decomposition property of the vacation queue. We, then, propose an algorithm that finds the optimal threshold values ($m^*$, $N^*$). Finally we present some numerical examples and interprete the system behavior.

The main sources of the new house syndrome(sometimes it called sick building syndrome) are a concentration of formaldehyde (HCHO) and a concentration of total volatile organic compounds(TVOC). I had field measurements of indoor air quality in the apartment unit at medium-size cities(Y city, C city). I measured indoor air temperature, HCHO concentration in 16 units, TVOC concentration in 6 units and air tightness in 7 units. And I measured outdoor air quality, HCHO concentration and TVOC concentration. Mean concentration of HCHO was $357{\mu}g/m^3$(2006 standard=$120{\mu}g/m^3$), mean concentration of TVOC was $3,092{\mu}g/m^3$ and mean effective air leakage area was 193 cm2. There was a close relation between the indoor air temperature and HCHO concentration, between the indoor air temperature and TVOC concentration. Air tightness also had relation.
