플로팅 건축 상부시설에서 모듈러 시스템 적용 유럽 사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Application of Modular System to the Superstructure of Floating Architecture in Europe)

  • 현장 공사의 제약이 많은 플로팅 건축 상부시설에서 모듈러 시스템 적용 방안 정립을 위한 기초 연구로서 모듈러 시스템이 적용된 유럽의 사례를 분석하여 이를 유형에 따라 분류하였다. 플로팅 건축 상부시설에서 모듈러 시스템 적용 유형은 단위 건축물 모듈러 유형, 단위 공간 모듈러 유형, 계획 개념으로서 모듈러 유형으로 구분될 수 있었다. 유럽에서 가장 많이 사용된 유형은 소규모 풀로팅 주거 건축에서 적용된 단위 건축물 모듈러 유형이었고, 단위 공간 모듈러 유형은 중규모 이상의 건축물에 적용 가능한 유형이었다. 계획 개념으로서의 모듈러 유형은 실현된 사례는 많지 않았으나, 건축물의 다양성을 수용할 수 있는 유형이며, 플로팅 건축의 영역을 확장하여 플로팅 도시와 같이 보다 큰 규모의 영역에 적용될 수 있는 가능성을 내포하고 있다.

단위 모듈러 구조체의 보-기둥 접합부 해석 모델 (Analytical Models of Beam-Column joints in a Unit Modular Frame)

  • 최근, 모듈러 구조 시스템은 공기를 단축시킬 수 있는 장점으로 인해 건설 현장에 적용되고 있다. 모듈러 구조시스템은 단위 모듈로 구성되며, 모듈과 모듈의 볼트접합을 위해 보-기둥 접합부에 개구부를 가공하게 된다. 일반적으로 모듈러 구조시스템은 기존 철골모멘트골조와 유사한 하중전달체계를 가지는 것으로 가정하여 설계된다. 이와 같은 설계 가정의 타당성을 확보하기 위해, 단위 모듈의 보-기둥 접합부에 대한 회전 성능이 파악되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 개구부의 구조적 영향이 고려된 접합부의 회전성능을 파악하기 위해 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 해석결과 단위모듈은 충분한 변형능력을 가지고 안정적인 이력거동을 하는 것으로 나타났으며, 단위모듈의 접합부는 부분강접 접합부로 분류되었다. 또한 본 연구에서는 단위 모듈의 비선형 골조 해석을 위한 간단한 스프링 모델을 개발하였으며, 단위 모듈의 비선형 이력 거동을 구현하기 위해 Ramberg-Osgood 이력 모델을 제시하였다.

Development and Evaluation of Fixation Equipment for Transporting Unit Modules

  • The unit modular construction system is a building technique in which unit modules are manufactured at a factory and then assembled at the construction site. It has many benefits, including reduction of the construction period and improvement in quality. For this reason, it is utilized for various purposes in Japan and England. While it has been introduced in Korea, there have been few Korean studies conducted on the unit modular system. In particular, little research has been done on the method of safely fixating the unit modules to a truck. Therefore, this study reviewed the fixation methods of unit modules for transport, analyzed the problems, and designed a fixation device for unit modules. In addition, a device for the fixation of unit modules to a truck was developed, and a structural simulation was implemented for a safety test by considering the maximum stress generated during the transport of the unit modules fixed on a truck. When the device for the fixation of unit modules is manufactured based on the results of the structural simulation done in this study, it is expected to aid the development of a more practical fixation device for unit modules.

유닛모듈러 주택의 BIM 라이브러리 개발 연구 - 소규모 도시형 생활주택을 중심으로 - (A Study on Development of BIM Library for Unit Modular Housing - Focused on Small-sized Urban-life-housing -)

  • This Study developed library of parts, applied with 3-dimension character which has width, length and height and a reference plane, for the system development of BIM design on housing unit modular. The current BIM software has not the concept of a reference plane or work tolerance in modular, so the development of parts library applied to unit modular has not moved forward. So, we developed, in this study, parts library applied to windows, built-in-furniture, kitchen systems and knock down bathrooms, with a reference plane and work tolerance based on single roon prototype on urban-life-housings. BIM library can utilize changed size and work tolerance of parts, and fabricating reference plane will be created automatically when an engineer puts work tolerance in the BIM library with supplement of some category related to work reference. Through this BIM library development, we consider the part module can be used for housing complex planning, and architectural designers will be able to utilize the BIM library for housing complex design.

모듈러 주거시설의 단위유닛 제작품질 확보를 위한 공장제작도서 개선 연구 (Improvement of Manufacturing Drawings for Manufacturing Quality Assurance of Modular Housing Unit)

  • In modular architecture, manufacturing drawing which includes whole information for modular unit production is essential since works for modular unit have to be performed in manufacturing factory not construction field. Although the manufacturing drawing is important as known it is insufficient to utilize the manufacturing drawing in modular architecture project and this makes modular unit low-quality with re-work and work time delay. To prevent low-quality modular unit caused by insufficient manufacturing drawing, in this research firstly manufacturing drawing's current situation and error cases in manufacturing phase of past modular housing project were analyzed, and correlation between reduction of errors occurance frequency and improving manufacturing drawing was verified. Secondly manufacturing drawing improvement factors were deducted in interior, furniture, mechanical work phase which errors' occurance rate is high and the way of deducting manufacturing drawing lists and contents were suggested with light-weight work as an example in case of new type of errors occurance. A series of research process can contribute to good-quality modular unit by errors reduction. As a result of research, about half of errors occurance can be reduced with suggested manufacturing drawing improvement factors. And the manufacturing drawing process can contribute to modular production which have uniform quality.

  • Modular construction technique is an adaptation of factory-based mass production concept in ordinary manufacturing industries to construction industry and it assumes that panels, units, etc. are fabricated in factories and assembled in construction sites. Given its structural limitations, modular construction technique is primarily used in low-story buildings whose maximum height is usually five stories, but researchers are actively studying possible adaptation of modular construction technique to high-rise building designs these days as in the case of infill-type modular construction design. Infill-type modular construction technique, most frequently used in high-rise building construction projects, completes frame construction first in reinforced concrete structures and fills unit modules in such structures. However, infill-type modular construction technique leads to longer construction schedule accompanying increase in construction cost, cost overrun due to additional of temporary work, and possible damage to units in the wake of facility construction. Accordingly, this study is performed as a basic study for the development of bottom-up infill-type modular construction technique intended to construct structural frames and fill in units sequentially in a bid to address such drawbacks of current infill-type modular construction technique.

  • Recently, It is being reduction to market of the domestic construction industry for the instability of the domestic market structure. So it is necessary to plan response measures for to ensure the competitiveness of the construction market of overseas. The purpose of the study is suggest of improvement of the project delivery system for the efficiency of the construction of the unit modular housing of considering the reducing cost and technological competitiveness of the domestic construction industry.

BIM 기반 1인 가구 모듈러 공동주택 유닛 개발 (Development of Modular Apartment Unit for Single Person Household Based on BIM)

  • 현대 사회에서는 1인 가구가 증가하고 주거 공간에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있으며 이에 대한 적절한 대안 모색이 중요하다. 빠른 시간 내에 경제적이고 지속 가능한 주거 공간을 제공하기 위한 방법으로 모듈러 건축이 주목받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 BIM(Building Information Modeling) 기술을 활용한 모듈러 건축 유닛 설계 및 시공 과정 최적화 방법을 제안한다. 1인 가구의 주거 요구사항과 삶의 질 향상을 위한 요인을 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 BIM을 활용하여 효율적이고 경제적인 모듈러 공동주택 유닛을 개발하였다. BIM은 건축 요소의 시각화 및 상호 연결을 제공하여 설계 과정의 오류를 최소화하고 생산성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 모듈러 건축의 장점과 한계를 평가하였다. BIM을 활용한 모듈러 건축물은 주거 문제를 해결할 수 있는 효과적인 대안으로 제시될 수 있으며 주거 공간의 품질과 다양성을 높일 수 있다. 다만 기술적 요구사항 및 비용 등의 한계도 고려되어야 한다. BIM 기반 1인 가구 공동주택 유닛 설계의 가능성과 장점을 제시하고 1인 가구 개선을 위한 실질적인 해결책으로 활용될 수 있다.

모듈러건축의 외장재 모듈정합설계 및 시공 (MC Design and Construction for Standardization of Exterior Materials of Modular Building)

  • With the progress of national policy researches on the modular construction, many studies have been conducted regarding the standardization of interior building materials. However, studies on the standardization of exterior building materials are still insufficient, and there are no dedicated exterior materials for modular construction. In this regard, this study investigated the necessary of standardization through the analysis on 7 kinds of exterior materials used in general buildings and exterior building materials applied to modular apartment houses in order to establish design criteria for the standardization of dedicated modular exterior materials. Based on the analysis results, assembly reference plane in conjunction with inside dimensions was set, and panelizing standardized in five parts was proposed to solve the problem of low exterior material standardization rate. It also proposed elastic gasket and steel bracket details that can compensate for the fabrication errors of unit boxes and construction errors in stacking.

  • The purpose of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis between Korea and the United States of the supply process of unit modular housing at both the factory production phase and the transportation and lifting phase, as part of an attempt to invigorate the unit modular housing market in Korea. Unlike the practice in the United States, one of Korea's unique characteristics is that the floor is constructed with reinforced concrete and hot water heating system. To do this, the wet method in Korea is used that includes concrete placement, curing and constructing hot water floor heating system at the factory production phase, which results in a longer production time and also requires the lifting of heavier loads. In the United States, interior and exterior finishing works of modular housing are performed by different companies, and the distance between the unit module factory and the construction site is quite far. This kind of dualized production structure may cause confusion when it comes to schedule management, procurement management, and stock management. Moreover, problems caused by external environmental factors such as wind and rainfall were reported in the course of long-distance transportation. The results of this case comparison are expected to provide fundamental data that will reduce the amount of trial and error in the unit module production, transportation and lifting work in Korea, which has a comparatively small number of unit modular housing cases.
