This study aimed to calculate the amount of change in soil carbon due to changes in land cover. Among the various soil carbon models, the InVEST Carbon Storage and Sequestration module was used. LULC is one of the leading factors affecting soil carbon. Therefore, this study compared the total amount of soil carbon due to changes in LULC in 2000 and 2010 across the Republic of Korea, and calculated the changes in each administrative district (city). Changes in LULC in Korea were mainly due to the increase in developed and dry areas and the decrease in grassland, indicating changes in soil carbon. The total amount of soil carbon changes in South Korea has been reduced by 11.48 (millions) in 10 years. The amount of soil carbon by administrative region decreased in most cities and provinces, but Jeju Island, in exception, showed an increase in soil carbon. Among the cities and provinces except Jeju Island, Seoul showed the smallest decrease, with a decrease of 0.033 (million t). On the contrary, the largest number of attempts to decrease was to Gyeongsangbuk-do, which saw a total decrease of 2.893 (million t). Jeju Island is the only soil carbon-increasing area with an increase of 0.547 (millions) and the agricultural area has increased 2.1 times in 10 years. In the case of soil carbon, the construction of ground observation data at the national unit is insufficient, and verification will need to be carried out through linked analysis using multiple models in the future.
As unmanned underwater systems have recently emerged, a high-speed underwater channel modeling technique, which is one of the most important techniques in the system, has received a lot of attention. In this paper, we proposed a high-speed sound propagation model and verified the applicability through quantitative performance analyses. We used a high-order finite difference method (FDM) for wave propagation modeling in the water, and a domain decomposition method was adopted using multiple general-purpose graphics processing units (GPUs) to increase the calculation efficiency. We compared the results of the model we proposed with the analytic solution in the half-infinite media and results of the Virtual Timeseries Experiment (VirTEX) model, which is based on the ray method. Finally, we analyzed the performance of the model quantitatively using numerical examples. Through quantitative analyses of the improvement in computational performance, we confirmed that the computational speed increases linearly as the number of GPUs increases. The computation times are increased by 2 times and 8 times, respectively, when the domain size of computation and the maximum frequency are doubled. We expect that the proposed high-speed underwater channel modeling technique is able to contribute to the enhancement of national defense as an underwater communication channel model and analysis tool to develop the underwater communication technique for the unmanned underwater system.

As the micro-mobility market grows, the demand for route guidance, that includes uphill information as well, is increasing. Since the climbing angle depends on the electric motor uesed, it is necessary to establish an uphill road DB according to the threshold standard. Although road alignment information is a very important element in the basic information of the roads, there is no information currently on the longitudinal slope in the road digital map. The High Definition(HD) map which is being built as a preparation for the era of autonomous vehicles has the altitude value, unlike the existing standard node link system. However, the HD map is very insufficient because it has the altitude value only for some sections of the road network. This paper, hence, intends to propose a method to generate the road longitudinal slope using currently available data. We developed a method of computing the longitudinal slope by combining the digital elevation model and the standard link system. After creating an altitude at the road link point divided by 4m based on the Seoul road network, we calculated individual slope per unit distance of the road. After designating a representative slope for each road link, we have extracted the very steep road that cannot be climbed with personal mobility and the slippery roads that cannot be used during heavy snowfall. We additionally described errors in the altitude values due to surrounding terrain and the issues related to the slope calculation method. In the future, we expect that the road longitudinal slope information will be used as basic data that can be used for various convergence analyses.

The New Excellent Technology (NET) designation system, introduced in 1989 for the purpose of promoting the development of domestic construction technology and enhancing national competitiveness, reviews the statement of construction cost of new technologies. And the cost reduction effect such as design, construction, and maintenance cost and the effect of reducing the construction duration are evaluated as an evaluation criteria of economic feasibility. However, in this evaluation process, differences of opinion between the institution of construction cost estimating standard management and the new technology developer about unique technologies frequently occur. In addition it is difficult to objectively compare the construction duration with existing similar technologies because there is no information on productivity as the current cost estimating standards for new technologies only present the required amount per unit quantity. In this study, the current state of cost estimating criteria review procedure, evaluation criteria, and cost estimating standards establishment method were analyzed when screening for the designation of a new construction technologies, and compared with overseas cost estimating standards, measures to improve the cost estimating standards of current construction new technologies were suggested. Through the improved cost estimating standards of this study, it is expected that cost information on new technologies will be provided to clients in more detail than the current ones, and the availability and applicability of new construction technologies would be improved by simplifying the construction cost calculation process more.

In this study, the finite-failure NHPP software reliability model was applied to the software development model based on the Weibull lifetime distribution (Goel-Okumoto, Rayleigh, Type-2 Gumbe), which is widely used in the software reliability field, and then the cost attributes were compared and evaluated. For this study, failure time data detected during normal operation of the software system were collected and used, the most-likelihood estimation (MLE) method was applied to the parameter estimation of the proposed model, and the calculation of the nonlinear equation was solved using the binary method. As a result, first, in the software development model, when the cost of testing per unit time and the cost of removing a single defect increased, the cost increased but the release time did not change, and when the cost of repairing failures detected during normal system operation increased, the cost increased and the release time was also delayed. Second, as a result of comprehensive comparative analysis of the proposed models, it was found that the Type-2 Gumble model was the most efficient model because the development cost was lower and the release time point was relatively faster than the Rayleigh model and the Goel-Okumoto basic model. Third, through this study, the development cost properties of the Weibull distribution model were newly evaluated, and the analyzed data is expected to be utilized as design data that enables software developers to explore the attributes of development cost and release time.

The facade, an exterior material of a building, is one of the crucial factors that determine its morphological identity and its functional levels, such as energy performance, earthquake and fire resistance. However, regardless of the type of exterior materials, huge property and human casualties are continuing due to frequent exterior materials dropout accidents. The quality of the building envelope depends on the detailed design and is closely related to the back frames that support the exterior material. Detailed design means the creation of a shop drawing, which is the stage of developing the basic design to a level where construction is possible by specifying the exact necessary details. However, due to chronic problems in the construction industry, such as reducing working hours and the lack of design personnel, detailed design is not being appropriately implemented. Considering these characteristics, it is necessary to develop the detailed design process of exterior materials and works based on the domain-expert knowledge of the construction industry using artificial intelligence (AI). Therefore, this study aims to establish a detailed design automation algorithm for AI-based condition-responsive exterior wall panels and their back frames. The scope of the study is limited to "detailed design" performed based on the working drawings during the exterior work process and "stone panels" among exterior materials. First, working-level data on stone works is collected to analyze the existing detailed design process. After that, design parameters are derived by analyzing factors that affect the design of the building's exterior wall and back frames, such as structure, floor height, wind load, lift limit, and transportation elements. The relational expression between the derived parameters is derived, and it is algorithmized to implement a rule-based AI design. These algorithms can be applied to detailed designs based on 3D BIM to automatically calculate quantity and unit price. The next goal is to derive the iterative elements that occur in the process and implement a robotic process automation (RPA)-based system to link the entire "Detailed design-Quality calculation-Order process." This study is significant because it expands the design automation research, which has been rather limited to basic and implemented design, to the detailed design area at the beginning of the construction execution and increases the productivity by using AI. In addition, it can help fundamentally improve the working environment of the construction industry through the development of direct and applicable technologies to practice.

This Study is about the development of LCC Analysis Model and Evaluation of VE. It was carried out to help the person's intention decision about choosing the pavement construction method that can deal with 'Pavement Life Factor' like Area Character and Traffic Volume efficiently, by considering the total life cycle cost of pavement life cycle happens according to the numbers of public use year. For this, we developed the new LCC Analysis Model by using the Data of Seoul city the representative city in Korea, and carried out VE Evaluation that reflects the opinions of specialists. This Analysis Model consists of cost items that affects directly the choice of pavement construction, except for the common cost items of the various pavement construction. And we investigated the propriety by applying our model to the example line that are used for the public at present. About the base data of cost items that are used for our analysis, we enhanced our model's confidence by using the statistics data of Seoul and the standard data of unit cost calculation.
To evaluate the efficiency of commuting patterns, various commuting indicators such as excess commute and commuting potential utilized have been developed and used. It is crucial to calculate these indicators reasonably to reveal the differences in commuting patterns among metropolitan areas and to consider these in the process of formulating commuting policies. However, commuting indicators are generally calculated at the administrative district level, and thus, they are not free from the problem of the modifiable areal unit problem (MAUP). This issue can undermine the rationality of comparing commuting efficiency between metropolitan areas, making it necessary to handle the calculation of commuting indicators carefully. Therefore, this study utilises Monte Carlo Simulation to calculate optimal, actual, and maximum commuting distances, and thereby presents the excess commute and the commuting potential utilized. To apply Monte Carlo Simulation to the context of South Korea, a constrained Monte Carlo Simulation is conducted, where residential and workplace locations used in the simulation are selected based on the actual locations of buildings. The analysis is conducted on 13 metropolitan areas with established metropolitan plans using the 2016 Household Travel Survey data. The commuting indicators calculated through the simulation showed minimal differences compared to the results obtained through conventional methods. The comparison of commuting efficiency among metropolitan areas revealed that even if the degree of spafial balance between residential and workplace locations is similar, the actual commuting patterns can differ significantly. It is suggested that further research considering characteristics such as the area of each metropolitan region will be necessary in the future.

Recently, modern vehicles have been controlled by Electronic Control Units (ECUs), by which the safety and convenience of drivers are highly improved. It is known that a luxury vehicle has more than 100 ECUs to electronically control its function. However, the modern vehicles are getting targeted by cyber attacks because of this computer-based automotive system. To address the cyber attacks, automotive manufacturers have been developing some methods for securing their vehicles, such as automotive Intrusion Detection System (IDS). This development is only allowed to the automotive manufacturers because they have databases for their in-vehicle network (i.e., DBC Format File) which are highly confidential. This confidentiality poses a significant challenge to external researchers who attempt to conduct automotive security researches. To handle this restricted information, in this paper, we propose a method to partially understand the DBC Format File by analyzing in-vehicle network traffics. Our method is designed to analyze Controller Area Network (CAN) traffics so that checksum signals are identified in CAN Frame Data Field. Also, our method creates a Lookup Set by which a checksum signal is correctly estimated for a given message. We validate our method with the publicly accessible dataset as well as one from a real vehicle.
High dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy for treating a cervix carcinoma has become popular, because it eliminates many of the problems associated with conventional brachytherapy. In order to improve the clinical effectiveness with HDR brachytherapy, a dose calculation algorithm, optimization procedures, and image registrations need to be verified by comparing the dose distributions from a planning computer and those from a phantom. In this study, the phantom was fabricated in order to verify the absolute doses and the relative dose distributions. The measured doses from the phantom were then compared with the treatment planning system for the dose verification. The phantom needs to be designed such that the dose distributions can be quantitatively evaluated by utilizing the dosimeters with a high spatial resolution. Therefore, the small size of the thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD) chips with a dimension of <1/8"and film dosimetry with a spatial resolution of <1mm used to measure the radiation dosages in the phantom. The phantom called a pelvic phantom was made from water and the tissue-equivalent acrylic plates. In order to firmly hold the HDR applicators in the water phantom, the applicators were inserted into the grooves of the applicator holder. The dose distributions around the applicators, such as Point A and B, were measured by placing a series of TLD chips (TLD-to-TLD distance: 5mm) in the three TLD holders, and placing three verification films in the orthogonal planes. This study used a Nucletron Plato treatment planning system and a Microselectron Ir-192 source unit. The results showed good agreement between the treatment plan and measurement. The comparisons of the absolute dose showed agreement within $\pm$4.0 % of the dose at point A and B, and the bladder and rectum point. In addition, the relative dose distributions by film dosimetry and those calculated by the planning computer show good agreement. This pelvic phantom could be a useful to verify the dose calculation algorithm and the accuracy of the image localization algorithm in the high dose rate (HDR) planning computer. The dose verification with film dosimetry and TLD as quality assurance (QA) tools are currently being undertaken in the Catholic University, Seoul, Korea.
