Design of a Floating Point Multiplier for IEEE 754 Single-Precision Operations (IEEE 754 단정도 부동 소수점 연산용 곱셈기 설계)

  • Arithmetic unit speed depends strongly on the algorithms employed to realize the basic arithmetic operations.(add, subtract multiply, and divide) and on the logic design. Recent advances in VLSI have increased the feasibility of hardware implementation of floating point arithmetic units and microprocessors require a powerful floating-point processing unit as a standard option. This paper describes the design of floating-point multiplier for IEEE 754-1985 Single-Precision operation. Booth encoding algorithm method to reduce partial products and a Wallace tree of 4-2 CSA is adopted in fraction multiplication part to generate the $32{\times}32$ single-precision product. New scheme of rounding and sticky-bit generation is adopted to reduce area and timing. Also there is a true sign generator in this design. This multiplier have been implemented in a ALTERA FLEX EPF10K70RC240-4.

  • 고체가 아닌 계인 마요네즈에 대해 Couette형 점도계를 사용하여 일정한 전단속도에 서 시간과 더불어 전단응력이 감소하는 응력완화 곡선을 온도 2$0^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$, 3$0^{\circ}C$, 34$^{\circ}C$, 4$0^{\circ}C$ 에서 얻었다 이현상을 설명하기 위하여 구조가 형성되는 flow unit 2와 구조가파괴되는 flow unit 3에 대한 fraction (X2, X3)사이의 평형을 생각하고 X2 와 X3 에 해당하는 항에 실 험적 조건인 s=p(t0+t)의 관계를 적용하여 다음과 같은 응력완화에 관한 식을 구하고 이식을 실험결과에 적용하여 유동파라메타를 구하였으며 그 파라메타중의 평형상수 k와 실험 온도 를 이용하여 열역학 파라메타를 구하였다.

A Quality Control Method of Assembly Parts Based on Parts Inspection information (부품검사정보를 이용한 조립품 품질관리방안)

  • This paper proposes a quality control method of assembly parts based on parts inspection information. We use the parts inspection information for reduction of defective fraction in assembly and prediction of assembly quality. At first, we build the functional relationship between parts and assembled unit by regression analysis. Secondly, if we use the inspection informations of parts which are estimators of means and variances, we can predict the nonconforming probability of assembled unit and propose the best assembly method. In a case study, we showed the efficency of the proposed method in two part assembly.

  • $Pb_{x}Cd_{1-x}S$ films are prepared in the composition range of 0.05${\leq}x{\leq}$0.25, using a chemical bath deposition growth technique under optimum conditions amide at realizing good photo response. The x-ray diffraction results show that the films are of PbS-CdS composite with individual CdS and PbS planes. The films exhibit two direct band gaps, 2.4 eV attributed to CdS, while the other varies continuously from 2.4 eV to 1.3 eV. The films surface morphology is smooth with crystallite, whose grain size increases with increasing mole fraction (x). The decrease in band gap with increase in lead concentration suggests inter-metallic compound of PbS (Eg=0.41 eV) with CdS (Eg=2.4 eV)

  • The methodology of micromechanical finite element method (MFEM) is proposed to calculate the micromechanical strains on fiber and matrix under mechanical and thermal loadings. For micromechanical analysis, composite structure is idealized the square and hexagonal unit cells. Boundary conditions are determined to calculate the effective material properties of composites and the strain magnification matrix. And they are verified by comparing with the results from multi cells, and the strain distributions of the unit cells are in accordance with those of the multi cells. Finally, the effective material properties of composite structure are obtained with respect to its fiber volume fraction and compared with results from rules-of-mixture.

Minimization of Inspection Cost in an Inspection System Considering the Effect of Lot Formation on AOQ

  • In this paper, we readdress the optimization problem for minimizing the inspection cost in a back-light unit inspection system, which forms a network including a K-stage inspection system, a source inspection shop, and a re-inspection shop. In order to formulate our objective function when the system is in a steady state, assuming that the number of nonconforming items in a lot follows a binomial distribution when a lot is formed for inspection, we make a steady-state network flow analysis between shops, and derive the steady-state amount of flows between nodes and the steady-state fraction defectives by solving a nonlinear balance equation. Finally we provide some fundamental properties and an enumeration method for determining an optimal value of K which minimizes our objective function. In addition, we compare our results numerically with previous ones.

  • Recently, automobile manufacturers regarding stability, economic environmental-friendly problems by the development of automobile, environmental problem as designing the exhaust system. Increasingly strict environmental regulations to lower fuel consumption and reduce emission. Also to reduce the noise and the vibration of the automobile. According to develop variable type muffler, dual muffler and active intelligence exhaust system unit. Improvement in engine performance and fuel consumption rate demand information of pressure fraction and heat characteristics. To be able to determine these factor for we experiment on each case of exhaust system unit. In this study, how back pressure is distributed in flow-through in exhaust system and how to design exhaust system flexibleness, efficiency and combustion charateristics influenced by back pressure. This study furnish basic data for engineers, technicians.

Molecular Conformation-Dependent Complexation between Acidic- and Basic-Polypeptides via Hydrogen Bonding in Solution

  • Interpolymer complex formation between basic polypeptide poly(L-proline) Form Ⅱ (PLP(Ⅱ)) and acidic polypeptides poly(L-glutamic acid) (PLGA) and poly(L-aspartic acid)(PLAA) has been studied in water-methanol (1:2 v/v) mixed-solvent by viscometry, potentiometry, light scattering and circular dichroism (CD) measurements. It has been found that polymer complexes between PLP(Ⅱ) and PLGA (or PLAA) are formed via hydrogen bonding with a stoichiometric ratio of PLP(Ⅱ)/PLGA (or PLAA)=1:2 (in unit mole ratio) and that PLP(Ⅱ) forms polymer complex more favorably with PLGA than with PLAA. In addition, the minimum (for pH 5.0) and the maximum (for pH 3.2) in reduced viscosity of dilute PLP(Ⅱ)-PLGA mixed solutions are observed at 0.67 unit mole fraction of PLGA (i.e., [PLP(Ⅱ)]/[PLGA]=1/2). These findings could be explained in terms of molecular structure (or conformation) of the complementary polymers associated with the complex formation.

  • A single item order level inventory model for perishable products is considered in which a constant fraction of on hand inventory spoils per unit time. Demand linearly depends on time. The fluctuation of demand is taken into account to determine minimum total cost of the system. Both discrete and continuous fluctuations are considered. The model is developed and solved analytically for infinite time horizon. A numerical example is presented for finite time horizon. Sensitivity analysis of the model is carried out.
