균일 화질 보장을 위한 스트리밍 비디오 시스템 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Uniform Quality Guaranteed Streaming Video System)

  • 스트리밍 비디오 시스템(SVS)의 QoS에 관한 기존 연구는 네트워크 관점에서 전송되는 비디오 스트림을 조절하여 데이터의 손실과 지연을 방지하는데 중점을 두고 있다. 반면 비디오 스트림의 화질이 변화되면 균일화질을 원하는 사용자 입장에서의 QoS는 보장 받지 못하는 것이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 Encoder에서 프레임 당 발생 비트량이 일정하게 유지되는 CBR 스트리밍 비디오의 장점과 균일한 화질을 보장하는 VBR 스트리밍 비디오의 장점을 적용한 VBR to CBR Encoder와 CBR to VBR Decoder, 비디오 스트림에 대한 재생 제어를 설계하였다. 그리고 이를 기반으로 사용자에게 균일한 화질의 제공을 보장하는 균일 화질 보장 SVS를 설계하고 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 균일 화질 보장 SVS의 우수성을 입증하기 위하여 여러 특성의 샘플 비디오에 대한 PSNR을 평가하였다. 평가결과 균일 화질 보장 SVS의 성능이 CBW가 ABR 100%부터 85%까지의 환경에서 균일한 화질을 보장하여 우수성을 입증하였다.

  • This study aims to the recognize the importance of uniform design and provide empirical data to companies after getting the effects of uniform design in cosmetics companies on service quality perception and customer satisfaction. For this, a preliminary survey was conducted against 30 college women (aged 20s) from 'K' University, and effective samples were obtained from 250 people. In terms of a research method, collected data were coded and analyzed using SPSS. The respondents' characteristics were analyzed using descriptive statistics. For reliability analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was used. For a validity test, factor analysis was performed. In addition, correlation analysis was carried out to examine multicollinearity among variables. The analysis results found that the characteristics of uniform design have a positive effect on service quality and customer satisfaction. Among the characteristic of uniform design, however, functionality wasn't confirmed in a relational test. This kind of result was obtained because the uniform was mostly analyzed from customers' perspective, not from the wearer's standpoint. It is expected that the study results would be helpful in establishing brand identity through the improvement of the importance of uniform design.

Welfare Impacts of Behavior-Based Price Discrimination with Asymmetric Firms

  • Purpose - This paper studies the welfare impacts of behavior-based price discrimination (BBPD) when firms are asymmetric in quality improvement costs. Design/methodology/approach - To this end, we consider a differentiated duopoly model with an inherited market share, where firms first make quality decisions and then compete in prices according to the pricing scheme, namely, uniform pricing or BBPD. Findings - We show that BBPD increases social welfare relative to uniform pricing if the firms' cost gap is large enough. This is because BBPD induces more consumers to buy a high-quality product than under uniform pricing, and because a low-cost firm's profit loss from BBPD decreases as the cost difference increases. Research implications or Originality - Our analysis offers policy implications for markets where BBPD raises antitrust concerns, and quality competition prevails.

색상 및 세탁견뢰도의 정량적 분석을 통한 신형 전투복 원단의 색상신뢰성 연구 (A Study on Color Reliability of New Combat Uniform Fabrics through Quantitative Analysis of the Color and Color Fastness to Washing)

  • A new combat uniform is improved for added combat safety with various functions such as survivability, battle conformity and a camouflage performance system. Camouflage performance is an important factor in terms of combat survivability since it makes identification difficult and provide security. The combat uniform is worn under extreme conditions (exposure to ultraviolet light, sweat and friction) and an excellent color fastness to repeated washing is required. In this study, we investigated the color management, durability and discoloration of new combat uniform fabric with a digital pattern for camouflage performance to provide preliminary color management data. We examined color differences between standard fabric and mass-produced combat uniform fabrics, color differences between each military supply contract firm and color changes in combat uniforms after 60 washing cycles. The slight color differences between standard fabric and mass-produced combat uniform fabrics were tolerable under quality criteria of Republic of Korea Ministry of National Defense. However, the differences between the military supply contract firms were recognizable to the naked eye and increased with repeated washing. Continuous research on color fastness under repeated washing and color management is required to standardize reliability from each military supply contract firm for the daytime performance of a combat uniform's camouflage.

An Experimental Study of Critical Heat Flux in Non-uniformly Heated Vertical Annulus under Low Flow Conditions

  • An experimental study on critical heat flux (CHF) has been performed in an internally heated vertical annulus with non-uniform heating. The CHF data for the chopped cosine heat flux have been compared with those for uniform heat flux obtained from the previous study of the authors, in order to investigate the effect of axial heat flux distribution on CHF. The local CHF with the parameters such as mass flux and critical quality shows an irregular behavior. However, the total critical power with mass flux and the average CHF with critical quality are represented by a unique curve without the irregularity. The effect of the heat flux distribution on CHF is large at low pressure conditions but becomes rapidly smaller as the pressure increases. The relationship between the critical quality and the boiling length is represented by a single curve, independent of the axial heat flux distribution. For non-uniform axial heat flux distribution, the prediction results from Doerffer et al.'s and Bowling's CHF correlations have considerably large errors, compared to the prediction for uniform heat flux distribution.

동영상 신호원간 균등화질 제어방법 (Uniform Picture Quality Control among Video Sources)

  • 위성, 지상파 방송 등과 같이 대역이 제한된 전송로를 통하여 다수의 영상 신호원들이 전송될 경구에, 신호원들 사이에 화질을 제어해 주는 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 영상 신호원들간 화질이 균등하게 분배되도록 화질을 제어하는 방법을 제안한다. 먼저, 다수의 영상신호원의 다중화 시스템에서 왜곡과 부호화율 사이의 관계를 찾는다. 그리고 나서, 왜곡-부호화율 관계를 사용하여 시간 지연 없이 실시간 구현으로 신호원들간 화질이 균등하게 분배되도록 각 신호원에 부호화 율을 할당한다. 실험결과로부터 기존의 제어방법에 비해서 제안된 화질 제어방법이 영상들 사이에 거의 균등한 화질을 유지시켜줌을 보인다.

불균일도정이 저장 중 쌀의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Non-Uniform Milling on Quality of Milled Rice during Storage)

  • 본 연구에서는 쌀의 불균일도정 조건이 저장중 품질에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 불균일도정 2수준, 균일도 정 1수준에 대하여 저장온도 5, $25^{\circ}C$ 수준에서 8주간 저장하면서 함수율, 중량, 지방산가, 동할율, 백도, b값 등 품질특성과 관능검사를 수행하였다. 도정과정에서 불균일도정은 과도정이 발생하면서 균일도정에 비해 함수율 차이가 발생하였으며, 저장과정에서 함수율 변화의 차이는 나타나지 않았지만 초기함수율 차이가 지속적으로 유지되었다. 또한, 저장온도가 높을수록 함수율 및 중량감소가 크게 나타났다. 저장온도가 높거나 불균일도정이 심할수록 지방산가는 크게 증가하여 품질에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 동할증가율은 저장온도 및 불균일도정에 따라 다소 차이가 나타났다. 저장온도가 높고 불균일도정이 발생할수록 저장기간이 증가하면서 백도는 감소하고 b값은 다소 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 불균일도정 정도가 가장심한 불균일도정 I의 경우저장 전 관능검사에서 균일도정 및 불균일도정II에 비해 낮은 수준에서 유의적인 차이가 나타났으며, 저장기간이 증가하여도 동일한 결과이었다.

집배원 유니폼 디자인 개발에 관한 연구 -2000년도 착용 유니폼을 중심으로- (A Study on the Uniform Design for Postmen)

  • Uniform is the dress of distinctive design or fashion worn by members of a particular group or serving as a means of identification. The postman's uniform of Ministry of Communication should be distinctive or characteristic clothing to provide high functionality and symbolization of job characteristics, cost effectiveness and esthetic. In order to design the postman's new uniform available in 2000, there has been a satisfaction survey to 1,116 postmen. A thorough analysis of survey and informal and face-to-face discussion with postmen give the direction of design concept. One of the most important things in the design concept is to make the uniform high quality & refinement. The style is a refined jumper suit in consideration of form stability, wearing satisfaction, convenience in activity. The basic colors selected are navy and medium gray. The colors of jumper are MOC red ; C.I color Green : a representative color of youth, white : a symbolic color of bright future. All three colors are plaid on a basic nary color. In the selection of the textile, synthetic fiber (Polyester 65%, rayon 35%) equipped with UV cutting as well as water resistance etc. was recommended. In the uniform design process, the effective communication with user (postman) is critical to find the requirements and needs of uniform user (postman). Also. the uniform designer should reflect the above four key factors in design development. Therefore, the uniform should provide the user with high job performance and job pride in wearing the uniform.

Effects of 27.12 MHz Radio Frequency on the Rapid and Uniform Tempering of Cylindrical Frozen Pork Loin (Longissimus thoracis et lumborum)

  • Quality characteristics of frozen cylindrical pork loin were evaluated following different tempering methods: 27.12 MHz curved-electrode radio frequency (RF) at 1000 and 1500 W, and forced-air convection (FC) or water immersion (WI) at $4^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$. The developed RF tempering system with the newly designed curved-electrode achieved relatively uniform tempering compared to a parallel-plate RF system. FC tempering at $4^{\circ}C$ was the most time-consuming process, whereas 1500 W RF was the shortest. Pork sample drip loss, water holding capacity, color, and microbiological quality declined after WI tempering at $20^{\circ}C$. Conversely, RF tempering yielded minimal sample changes in drip loss, microstructure, color, and total aerobic bacteria counts, along with relatively uniform internal sample temperature distributions compared to those of the other tempering treatments. These results indicate that curved-electrode RF tempering could be used to provide rapid defrosting with minimal quality deterioration of cylindrical frozen meat block products.

곡면 코팅 공정을 위한 수직 지향 경로 생성 알고리즘 적용에 대한 연구 (A Study on Application of Normal Oriented Path Generation Algorithm for Curved Surface Coating Process)

  • This study is normal orientation technology of slit coating equipment to improve the quality of curved displays. Currently, the demand for curved displays is increasing significantly due to advantages such as screen immersion or design in various industries. Accordingly, changes in the display coating process are essential. In the curved display coating process, unlike the existing flat coating process, the nozzle must be rotated along the curvature of the curved surface to spray the coating solution. The coating solution must be applied while maintaining a uniform thickness. If the thickness of the coating liquid applied to the target surface is non-uniform, the quality of the product may be degraded such as image quality deterioration and light spreading. This paper presents technology and experimental results for keeping the nozzle of slit coating equipment perpendicular to the curved surface and is expected to contribute to the quality improvement of curved displays.
