  • Using a Shack-Hartmann sensor and sub-wavelength sized pinhole point source, we develope an optical testing system that measures the wavefront error of high numerical aperture and small sized optical components. The subwavelength sized pinhole generates perfect spherical waves with large diffraction angle and this makes possible to test high numerical aperture optics. The Shack-Hartmann sensor reconstructs the wavefront and calculates the aberrations. We make a home-made reference plane wave source which generates nearly perfect plane waves and the calibration with this plane source gives the overall uncertainty of the optical testing system 0.010 $\lambda$ rms.

  • The paper presents a method for decision the optimal cycle time during the vehicle traffic control in single intersection with AHP. To solve this uncertainty optimization problem, the optimization index in the form of linear addition and fuzzy measurement is assumed and fuzzy integral is used. Examples of solution for two cases of optimal cycle time in two traffic controller are presented and compared.

  • In this paper, we propose an image-based output feedback robust controller of robot manipulators which have bounded parametric uncertainty. The proposed controller contains an integral action and high-gain observer in order to improve steady state error of joint position and performance deterioration due to measurement errors of joint velocity. The stability of the closed-loop system is proved by Lyapunov approach. The performance of the proposed method is demonstrated by simulations on a 5-link robot manipulators with two degrees of freedom.

  • This study proposes a robust range-only beacon mapping method for registering the locations of range-only beacons automatically. The proposed method deals with the multipath propagation of signals from range-only beacons using the range-only measurement association (RoMA) and an unscented Kalman filter (UKF). The RoMA initially predicts the candidate positions of a range-only beacon. The location of the range-only beacon is then updated using the UKF. With the proposed method, the locations of range-only beacons are accurately estimated in a multipath environment. The proposed method also provides the location uncertainty of each range-only beacon. Simulation results using the model for multipath propagation and experimental results in a real indoor environment verify the performance of the proposed method.

  • A technique for alignment to true north is presented, based on synchronized measurements of vision image by a camera and output voltage of wind direction sensor. The true wind direction is evaluated by means of image processing techniques with least square sense, and then evaluated true value is compared with measured output voltage of the sensor. The proposed technique is applied to real meteorological tower m Daekwanryung test site. In addition, some uncertainty analysis of this method is presented.

  • The power performance monitoring system for a small class of wind turbine is established. The wind turbine power performance characteristics are determined by measured power curve and the estimated annual energy production (AEP). The measured power curve is determined by collecting simultaneous measurements of wind speed and power output at the test site under varying wind conditions. In order to determine the power performance characteristics of the wind turbine accurately, the data are of sufficient quantity and quality shall be corrected according to defined criteria. In this study, the 6kW wind turbine made by Germany Inventus GmbH is examined.

  • It is useful to detect the tracking error with an optimal view in the presence of measurement origin uncertainty. In this paper, after the investigation of the targer error dependent on the detection threshold as well as the detection and false alarm probabilities in a clutter environment, a new algorothm that optimizes the threshold of validation region for target trackinf is proposed. The performance of the algorithm is demonstrated through computer simulations.

  • A gain scheduling approach for the suspension control of a nonlinear MAGLEV System is presented. We show that this technique is ver useful for improving not only performance to the operational disturbances originating aerodynamic force but also robustness to the uncertainty of payload. As a scheduling variable, even though the external disturbance need to be estimated in real time, but the additive measurement is not required to do it. Some simulations show that the gain scheduling control system performs very well comparing with other method using a nonlinear feedback linearization or a fixed gain linear feedback.

  • In this paper are presented kinematic and dynamic modeling and path-tracking of fourwhelled mobile robot with 2 d.o.f. having the limited drivetorques. Controllability of wheeled-mobile robot is revealed by using the kinematic model. Instantaneously coincident coordinate cystem, force/torques generated by inverse dynamics exceed the limitation, we make wheeled-mobile robot follow the reference path by modifying the planned reference trajectory with time-scaling. The controller is introduced to compensate for error owing to modeling uncertainty and measurement noise. And simulation results prove that method proposed by this paper is efficient.

  • This paper presents stable kinematic modeling and path planning and path tracking algorithms for the poisition control of 4-wheeled 2-d.o.f(degree of freedom) mobile robot. We drived the actuated inverse and sensed forward solution for the calculation of actuator velocity and robot velocities. the deal-reckoning algorithm is introduced to calculate the position of WMR in real time. The gaussian functions are applied to control and to design the smooth orientation angle of WMR and the path planning algorithm for obstacle avoidance is prosed. We composed feedback control system to compensate for error because of uncertainty kinematic modeling and measurement noise. The simulation resutls show that the proposed kinematkc modeling and path planning and feedback control algorithms are useful.
