  • This paper proposes a single slope A/D converter (SSADC) that is possible to process the signal of the ultraviolet, visible and infrared rays with a single chip. And the proposed SSADC is a type of single channel ADC. In the conventional SSADC, it is possible to process the only one signal with a kind of the sensor because the speed of the operating frequency and the slope of ramp signal generated by the ramp generator are fixed. In order to improve the disadvantages, a ramp generator which has variable slope in ramp function is designed and $3{\times}1$ MUX(multiplexer) is adopted so that we can change the speed of the operating frequency and the slope of ramp signal. Therefore, the multiple signal processing of the wanted sensors can be possible. The designed circuit is layout by the $0.35-{\mu}m$ CMOS 2-poly 4-metal technology process and is checked through DRC and LVS tools.

  • In this paper, the measurement algorithm of PCB alignment error is developed using image processing. The X-Y-$\theta$ table correcting PCB alignment error is driven by drive module based on microprocessor according to calculation results obtained through image processing procedure. In order to recognize the X-Y-$\theta$ position errors, two fiducial points are marked on PCB and two cameras of ultraviolet rays types are used for detection of the points to capture exactly fiducial points under disturbance of illumination change. Through application for a practical screen printer, the precision control using the developed position control system can be realized about 2.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in table moving range and 8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in camera processing precision.

  • Films are sensitive to ultraviolet rays and in contrast, digital camera sensors are extremely sensitive to infrared rays due to the differences in spectral characteristics. As a result, all digital cameras that use CCD or CMOS are equipped with IR Cut-Off Filter on the overall sensor. Complete block out of infrared rays is ideal, but the actual experiment results showed that infrared rays were not being blocked out completely. Infrared permeability was also different for each camera. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of the minute quantities of infrared rays, which get transmitted due to mechanical properties of IR Cut-Off Filters that are installed on digital cameras, on digital picture images. The results obtained by carrying out a comparative analysis of a UV Filter (infrared transmitting state) and a UV-IR Filter (infrared blocked out state) are as follows. It was confirmed that the minute quantities of infrared rays do affect dynamic range and resolution to some extent, despite the little or no difference in noise and color reproduction.

  • UV rays have beneficial or harmful effects on the human body depending on the degree of exposure. An accurate UV information is required for proper exposure to UV rays per individual. The UV rays' information is provided by the Korea Meteorological Administration as one component of daily weather information in Korea. However, it does not provide an accurate UVI at the user's location based on the region's Ultraviolet index. Some operate measuring instrument to obtain an accurate UVI, but it would be costly and inconvenient. Studies which assumed the UVI through environmental factors such as solar radiation and amount of cloud have been introduced, but those studies also could not provide service to individual. Therefore, this paper proposes a deep learning model to calculate UVI using solar object information and sunlight characteristics to provide an accurate UVI at individual location. After selecting the factors, which were considered as highly correlated with UVI such as location and size and illuminance of sun and which were obtained through the analysis of sky images and solar characteristics data, a data set for DNN model was constructed. A DNN model that calculates the UVI was finally realized by entering the solar object information and sunlight characteristics extracted through Mask R-CNN. In consideration of the domestic UVI recommendation standards, it was possible to accurately calculate UVI within the range of MAE 0.26 compared to the standard equipment in the performance evaluation for days with UVI above and below 8.

  • A Netspec lens has the form having the 2-dimensional mesh coating on a general ophthalmic lens. It is known that it makes the ophthalmic image see more clearly, reducing the ophthalmic fatigue and that the transmittance of it for ultraviolet and infrared rays is lower. We need to prove this characteristic scientifically. So, in this study, we applied the Kirchhoff's scalar wave theory to the Netspec lens and induced a transmittance expression. And we made the program of which simulation can explain the transmittance effect of the Netspec lens. Also, we tried the interpreting about the result of the simulation. Finally, we have known that this simulation program can be used to adjust the transmittance of the light according to the wavelength.

  • X-rays with shorter wavelengths than ultraviolet light have very good penetration power. It is convergence in industrial and medical fields has been used a lot. n particular, in the industrial field, various researches have been conducted on the detection of foregin body inside metal that can occur in the production process of products such as metal using x-ray, a non-destructive inspection device. Detectors are becoming increasingly popular for the popularization of DR (Digital Radiography) photography methods that digitally acquire X-ray video images. However, there are cases where foreign body detection is impossible depending on the sensor noise and sensitivity inside the detector. When producing a metal product, since the defective rate of the produced product may increase due to contamination of the foreign body, accurate detection is necessary. In this paper, we provide a correction model for X-ray images acquired in order to improve the efficiency of defect detection such as foreign body inside metal. When applied to defect detection in the production process of metal products through the proposed model, it is expected that the detection of product defects can be processed accurately and quickly.

  • Skin cancer is one of the most common diseases in the world, and the incidence rate in Korea has increased by about 100% over the past five years. In the United States, more than 5 million people are diagnosed with skin cancer every year. Skin cancer mainly occurs when skin tissue is damaged for a long time due to exposure to ultraviolet rays. Melanoma, a malignant tumor of skin cancer, is similar in appearance to Atypical melanocytic nevus occurring on the skin, making it difficult for the general public to be aware of it unless secondary signs occur. In this paper, we propose a skin cancer lesion edge detection algorithm and a deep learning model, CRNN, which performs skin cancer lesion classification for early detection and classification of these skin cancers. As a result of the experiment, when using the contour detection algorithm proposed in this paper, the classification accuracy was the highest at 97%. For the Canny algorithm, 78% was shown, 55% for Sobel, and 46% for Laplacian.
