  • Accurate measurements of burr profile and burr size are very important for the automation of deburring. In this paper, a new burr measurement system using capacitance sensor is proposed. Ultra precision milling machine was used as a sensor positioning system. The possibility and limitation of employing a capacitance sensor to defect burrs are also investigated. The proposed system is proven to be relatively accurate, easy to setup and lower cost. This system will be applicable to a fully automated deburring system with minor modifications.

  • In recent years, precision positioning stage is demanded for some industrial fields such as semi-conductor lithography, ultra precision machining, and fabricating of nano structure. In this research, precision multi-axis positioning stage, which consists of pzt actuator, flexure, and capacitance gauge, is designed and developed. The performance of 3-axis positioning, characteristics of motion and resolution are verified.

  • As recently optical communication industry is developed, request of optical communication part is increased. Ferrule is very important part which determines transmission efficiency and quality of information in the optical communication part. Most of ferrule processes are grinding which request high processing precision. The ultra precision centerless grinding machine for ferrule grinding was designed. The centerless grinding machine is composed of the high damping bed, grinding wheel spindle unit, regulating wheel spindle unit, feeding table and dressing unit. Reliability prediction was very important for the high quality design. In this study, centerless grinding machine was predicted reliability.

각도 제어 초정밀 가공기의 공구 위치 검출 (Method for tool alignment error Compensation of Angle controlled Ultra-Precision machining)

  • This paper presents a geometrical error compensation of tool alignment for B axis controlled machine. In precision machining, tool alignment is crucial parameter for machined surface. To decrease tool alignment error, plus tilted tool from B axis center is touched to reference work piece and checked the deviation from original position. Same process is performed in minus tilt. Comparing these 2 touch positions, wheel alignment error in X axis and Z axis can be calculated on B axis center. Experimental results show that this compensation method is efficient to correct tool alignment.

  • 공작기계의 주축은 황삭 가공에서 부터 정삭가공에 이르는 다양한 작업들이 가능해야 하고, 정속운동 또는 회전 위치결정의 기능을 수행해야 되므로 주축설계에 고려해야 할 변수들이 많다. 주축이동식자동선반은 고정식자동선반에 비해 샤프트가 가늘고 긴 핀 들을 작업할 때 좋은 선반이다. 고정식 자동선반에 비해 외경가공의 밀도가 매우 높다. 주축 이송형 선반은 주로 소형 제품을 정밀가공 할 경우에 사용되므로 가공 정밀도가 높아야 한다. 최대 외경 가공 한계 치수는 Ø32, 내경가공 한계 치수는 Ø6까지 가공이 가능하게 제작되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 주축이동식 자동선반에 사용되는 SCM440 소재의 정 동적특성을 이동식 선반에 적용하여 분석하였다. 주축의 정,동적 특성에 영향을 미치는 인자들을 고려하여 고속화 및 고정밀도를 갖는 최적설계기술이 확보하기 위하여 수치해석을 이용하여 분석하였다.

어트랙터 사분면법을 이용한 비철금속의 초정밀 절삭특성 평가에 관한 연구 (The Study on Ultra-Precision Cutting Characteristics Evaluation of Non-Ferrous Metals Using Attractor Quadrant Method)

  • This study proposes the construction of attractor quadrant method for high-precision cutting characteristics evaluation of non-ferrous metals. Also this paper aims to find the optimal cutting conditions of diamond turning machine by measuring surface form and roughness to perform the cutting experiment of non-ferrous metals, which are aluminum, with diamond tool. As well, according to change cutting conditions such as feed rate, using diamond turning machine to Perform cutting Processing, by measuring cutting force and surface roughness and according to cutting conditions the aluminum about cutting properties. Trajectory changes in the attractor indicated a substantial difference in fractal characteristics and attractor quadrant characteristics. In quantitative quadrant feature extraction, 1,309 point in the case of A17075 (one quadrant) and 1,406 point (one quadrant) in the case of brass were proposed on the basis of attractor reconstruction. Proposed attractor quadrant method can be used for high-precision cutting characteristics evaluation of non-ferrous metals.

LM 볼가이드 마찰력의 수학적 모델링 (Mathematical Modeling of Friction Force in LM Ball Guides)

  • Linear motion (LM) ball guides have good accuracy and high efficiency. They are widely applied for precision machinery such as machine tools, semiconductor fabrication machines and robots. However, friction force incurs heat between the balls and grooves. Thermal expansion due to the heat deteriorates stiffness and accuracy of the LM ball guides. For accurate estimation of stiffness and accuracy during the linear motion, friction models of LM ball guides are required. To formulate accurate frictional models of LM ball guides according to load and preload conditions, rolling and viscous frictional analyses have been performed in this paper. Contact loads between balls and grooves are derived from Hertzian contact analysis. Contact angle variation is incorporated for the precision modeling. Viscous friction model is formulated from the shear stress of lubricant and the contact area between balls and grooves. Experiments confirm validity of the developed friction model for various external load and feedrate conditions.

극초정밀 스테이지의 광소자 정렬에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optical Alignment of Multi-Axis Ultra Precision Stage)

  • In recent years, as the demands of VBNS and VDSL increase, the development of kernel parts of optical communication such as PLC(Planar Light Circuit), Coupler, and WDM elements increases. The alignment and the attachment technology are very important in the fabrication of optical elements. In this paper, the optical alignment characteristics of multi-axis ultra precision stage were studied. The alignment algorithms were studied for applying to the ultra precision multi-axis stage. The alignment algorithm is comprised of field search and peak search algorithms. The contour of optical power signals can be obtained by field search and the precise coordinate can be found out by peak search. Two kinds of alignments, such as 1 ch. input vs. 1 ch. output optical stack, and 1 ch. input vs. 8 ch. output PLC stacks were performed for investigating the alignment characteristics.
