  • The early evaluation on strength of concrete is useful to achieve on quality control and improvement of properties of concrete. Especially, we could say that the confidence of construction is increased by the increase durability and safety building, due to early evaluation. In this study, was proposed to ultra-sonic pulse method as a early evaluation method for strength of concrete with main parameter, sush as W/C ratio and S/A ratio. The experiment results are summarized to follow as : $\circled1$ The ultra-sonic pulse was decreased as the increase of W/C ratio. $\circled2$ The maximum value for the ultra-sonic pulse velocity and compressive strength was presented in the case of 40% S/A ratio and these value was decreased as the change of S/A ratio over 40% $\circled1$ The relationship of the ultra-sonic pulse velocity and compressive strength on 28days according to the change of W/C and S/A ratio is to be: $F_{28} = -209193R^2 + 384417R - 1763441$(W/C Ratio) $F_{28} = 1726R^2 - 774R - 502 (S/A Ratio)

  • For automatic landing of small VTOL UAV, it is necessary to calculate the distance from the UAV and the ground. The distance can be generally measured by a ultra-sonic sensor, but the ultra-sonic sensor has errors according to velocity of a sensor board. To compensate these errors, we proposed a sensor fusion method using a Kalman filter.

  • Robot collects surrounding information to recognize tile unknown environment by using various sensors such as visual, infrared ray and ultra sonic sensors. Although visual sensor is the most popular one, it has some difficulties in collecting data in dark or too bright environment due to sensitivity of the light. It also requests significant amount of calculation on collecting data from certain images with marked, straight and curved ones. As an alternative, ultra sonic sensor can simply overcome this visual sensing system's flaw and easily be used. It is easier than visual system, especially in case of collecting data on object and distance in dark environment. Ultra sonic sensor can replace the expensive visual sensing system not only in avoiding obstacles but also in reaching to the target area smoothly. The purpose of this paper is to develop the algorithm to optimize the environmental recognition, path planning and free-ranging by minimizing errors caused by inaccurate information and by considering characteristics of the ultra sonic rays such as refraction and diffusion. This paper also realizes the system that can recognize the environment and make the appropriate path planning by applying the algorithm on this moving robot.

  • Non-destructive tests are commonly used in construction industry to access the quality and strength of concrete. However, till date there is no non-destructive testing method that can be adopted to evaluate the bond condition of reinforced concrete beams. In this regard, the presented research work details the use of ultra-sonic pulse velocity test method to evaluate the bond condition of reinforced concrete beam. A detailed experimental research was conducted by testing four identical reinforced concrete beam samples. The samples were loaded in equal increments till failure and ultra-sonic pulse velocity readings were recorded along the length of the beam element. It was observed from experimentation that as the cracks developed in the sample, the ultra-sonic wave velocity reduced for the same path length. This reduction in wave velocity was used to identify the initiation, development and propagation of internal micro-cracks along the length of reinforcement. Using the developed experimental methodology, researchers were able to identify weak spots in bond along the length of the specimen. The proposed method can be adopted by engineers to access the quality of bond for steel reinforcement in beam members. This allows engineers to carryout localized repairs thereby resulting in reduction of time, cost and labor needed for strengthening. Furthermore, the methodology to apply the proposed technique in real-world along with various challenges associated with its application have also been highlighted.

  • The sea flower begins at the water-sediment Interface. In the ocean basins, the sound velocity of the sediments at the interface vary from a few percent less than the sound speed in water just above the interface to somewhat greater. Marine sediments are unconsolidated; that is, the particles are not cemented of fused together. Samples feel like mud, muddy sand, sand, and so on. With the theoretical knowledge, the systematic research on the searching capability of Ultra Sonic Signal will be continued to identify the influence against the sea water subject. In this research, signal will be analyzed according to the influence range, power and sensitiveness of Ultra Sonic Generator. In addition, the radius of Ultra Sonic Signal will be included. The experimental field work will be executed at Nockdong, Pulkyo and other places well known as a habitat of Pan Shell.

  • AGV for FMS must be detected an obstacle. Therefore, many studies have been advanced, and recently, the ultra sonic sensor is used for this. However, the new method has to be developed because the ultra-sonic-sensor has many problems as a noise in factory, an directional error and detection of the obstacle size. So, we study the fast stereo vision system that can give more information to obstacles for intelligent AGV system. For this, the simulated AGV system was made with two CCD cameras in front to get the stereo images, and the threshold process by color information (intensity and chromaticity) and structure stereo matching method were constructed.

  • To detect faults and monitor thinning on a pipe, many people use ultra sonic sensors that are operated in high frequency range. Because there are many modes in high frequency range, it is difficult to find faults and monitor pipe thinning on a structure. If we deal with signals in a low frequency range which include only A0 wave and S0 wave, the information of monitoring and diagnosis can be easily obtained. In this paper, the technique for exciting low frequency range using ultra sonic sensors is proposed. The main idea of the proposed method comes from the beat phenomenon. The beat frequency is equal to the absolute value of the difference in frequency of the two waves. If the beat frequency is tuned by two ultra waves, we can excite A0 mode and S0 mode of structures. To verify the proposed method, we have performed a steel plate and pipe experiments. Experimental results show that two ultra sonic sensors can well excite low frequency range.

  • In general, the experienced diver go into the water to find out Pan Shell which is spontaneously generated and brought up at the depth of 25-30 meters in the slime along the bank of an inlet of western and southern sea. However, this searching system has caused some problems in terms of economical efficiency and riskiness of diver. To overcome such problems and enhance the competence capability of fishermen, a new Pan Shell searching system is required. If an onboard searching system as a substitute of the way of diving into the deep water to identify the existence of Pan Shell is developed, it would be greatly beneficial to fishermen. The purpose of this research is to develop a new searching system of Pan Shell by making use of 50-200 Khz Ultra Sonic Signal, A/D Converter and computer process program. Based on the fact that Sonic Signal between the soft part of slime and the hard part of sand, pebble and Pan Shell is different, the possibility of this system have been approved in some degree by this time of research. However, to utilize this new system, further research on the establishment of data base and sample data is required. • Recently, diverse techniques for diagnosis on power equipments of the live wire conditions are developed. These techniques are very important that find out the fault signs in power equipments. This paper is Compared with Ultra-Violet and Ultra-Sonic Generated by an Insulator at 22.9kV. The volume of UV images are increased by the square of the applied voltage. The output signals of ultrasonic are detected at about 20kV to 30kV. Hereafter, through the continuous DAQ and analysis, these techniques are the effective method for the improvement of the exciting diagnosis.

  • Seven vegetables were planted in green houses to compare their yields and damages by insect pests based on three treatments, green music (GM), ultra sonic (US) and control. The vegetable yields of GM treatment were increased by an average of 17.81% than that of control for two years. There was a remarkable statistic difference in the yield between GM and respective controls such as radish, young radish, cucumber, spinach and Brassica oleracea var. acephala. There was no notable yield difference between US and controls for the semen vegetables within two years. The population densities of the insect pests in GM and US treatments were lower than controls. Only a few insect pests of some vegetables in GM and US treatments injured more seriously than in control.
