Purpose: This study is based on an experimental research program designed to evaluate the before and after states of a control group that undertook a series of smoking prevention education sessions. Methods: The research was undertaken between June 2 and July 22, 2008. Students from two public elementary schools in Uiwang City took part in the study. 76 students from one of the schools (School 'W') were designated as the experimental group and 89 students from the other school (School 'O') were allotted to the control group. During the research period, the experimental group held 10, 40 minute discussions on the subject of smoking prevention. The control group had no such sessions and no information was given. The data was collected in 3 stages, firstly after initial study preparation, secondly after five sessions and thirdly after ten sessions. The data was analysed using the SPSS/WIN 12.0 program. Results: First, there was a presumption that the experiment group would have a greater knowledge about the effects of smoking than the control group. This was supported by the data analysis results (F=41.79, p =.000). Second it was presumed that the experiment group would have a more informed attitude to smoking than the control group. This was supported by the data analysis results (F=6.917, p =.009). Third, there was the presumption that the experiment group would have a greater knowledge of the effects of smoking after ten sessions than they would five sessions. This was supported by the data analysis results (F=56.911, p =.000, Scheffe=3rd> 2nd>1st). Fourth, the presumption held that the experimental group would have a more informed attitude to the effects of smoking after ten sessions than they did five. This was supported by the data analysis results (F=14.607, p =000, Scheffe=3rd>2nd>1st). Conclusion: The results appear to show that the elementary school students who participated in the smoking prevention sessions had an increased knowledge of the risks and had also formed a more negative attitude towards smoking. On the basis of the findings of this study, I would suggest that there are benefits in developing learner-centered smoking prevention programs and other related media. Also, smoking prevention discussions should be included in the regular curricula relating to health education.

The Triangle Mesh Warping method is suggested and applied in coordinate transformation to world geodetic system in this study. The common points of Uiwang city are used to compare the transformation accuracy of the suggested methods with existing national coordinate transformation methods. As a result, the Triangle Mesh Warping method was satisfied with accuracy criteria for positioning on a map larger than scale 1/1,000 with smaller number of common points and without distortion modeling. Additionally, in case of Guri and Pyeongtaek city that established the World Geodetic System, the suggested method generates the result of transformation accuracy better than 5cm. Based on the test, it was found that the suggested method improves the problem of securing many common points and reduces the problem of mis-match between the transformed data of adjacent areas. Accordingly, for transformation of large-scale topographic map, cadastral map, GIS DB and serial cadastral map to the World Geodetic System, it is judged that the Triangle Mesh Warping would be a good method for economical efficiency and accuracy using by minimum common point.

Investments into existing cultural facilities are determined based on administrative district-based indices like population and area. Such macro judgment indices, however, fail to consider accessibility of cultural facilities from neighboring administrative districts and thus create problems including wasted budgets and duplicated investments. More recently, the government has made it a goal to increase the level of citizen awareness of these facilities, but achieving this requires the integration of neighboring administrative districts such that characteristics including transportation network and buildings are reflected in a comprehensive manner. This research therefore looks into Urban Network Analysis (UNA) as a means to investigate accessibility of cultural facilities. Use of UNA will make it possible to analyze the transportation network as well as building distribution, explained by building density, settled population, and other important building factors, in tandem, leading to the concentration of cultural facilities and the surrounding economic district being more properly reflected, and thus allowing for greater explanatory power in determining the level of accessibility. To test this, four target research districts were chosen from within the Gyeonggi Province and analyzed in terms of the accessibility of their everyday cultural facilities. Of the four districts of Gunpo, Anyang, Uiwang, and Gwacheon, accessibility of the first two districts, was found to be high, while accessibility was found to be relatively low for the latter two districts. This finding indicates that cultural facilities investments should be concentrated in the districts of Gunpo and Anyang.
One area where research is especially needed is their elaboration process and how they elaborate their idea as a group in a mathematical board game re-creation project. In this research, this process was named 'Mathematical Elaboration Process'. The purpose of this research is to understand how the gifted children elaborate their idea in a small group, and which idea can be chosen for a new board game when they are exposed to a project for making new mathematical board games using the what-if-not strategy. One of the gifted children's classes was chosen in which there were twenty students, and the class was composed of four groups in an elementary school in Korea. The researcher presented a series of re-creation game projects to them during the course of five weeks. To interpret their process of elaborating, the communication of the gifted students was recorded and transcribed. Students' elaboration processes were constructed through the interaction of both the mathematical route and the non-mathematical route. In the mathematical route, there were three routes; favorable thoughts, unfavorable thoughts and a neutral route. Favorable thoughts was concluded as 'Accepting', unfavorable thoughts resulted in 'Rejecting', and finally, the neutral route lead to a 'non-mathematical route'. Mainly, in a mathematical route, the reason of accepting the rule was mathematical thinking and logical reasons. The gifted children also show four categorized non-mathematical reactions when they re-created a mathematical board game; Inconsistency, Liking, Social Proof and Authority.

The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the Korean version of the SERVPERF which has been widely used in order to measure service quality in various kinds of fields including social work. A total of 328 adults using social welfare centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do participated in this study. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed that the Korean version of the SERVPERF consists of 5 dimensions(tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy) like the original SERVPERF. 5 dimensions of the Korean version of the SERVPERF have acceptable levels of internal consistency. Its convergent validity and discriminant validity are satisfactory. Finally, weak or non-significant correlations between 5 dimensions of the Korean version of the SERVPERF and social desirability scale indicated that the participants' reponses to the Korean version of the SERVPERF were not affected by social desirability.

The development and reduction scheme under implementation plan of TMDLs were performed in the Jinwi watershed including 8 cities (Gunpo, Yongin, Suwon, Anseong, Osan, Uiwang, Pyeongtaek and Hwaseong) since 2012. Progress of the annual development schemes was faster than the reduction schemes in most of the cities during the planning period. Main load reduction methods included establishment and enlargement of sewage treatment plants, resources of livestock excretions, and introduction of best management practices of non-point source pollution. Especially, reduction load using recycling and composting of livestock excretions comprised 34.1% of all reduction load. It is necessary to implement methodical development and reduction scheme for making of successful performance of TMDLs and water quality improvement in the Jinwi watershed.

The amount of exploitable groundwater amount in Korea has been determined by multiplying the 10-year frequency low precipitation by the recharge rate. In practice, however, the interpretation of the frequency analysis of precipitation is omitted, and the value obtained by multiplying the average recharge rate by the minimum precipitation in the recent 10 years is used as the recharge amount. Therefore, the contradiction arises that the amount of precipitation to be applied is determined according to the period selection rather than the actual low precipitation by the 10-year frequency analysis. In this study, we proposed a method for estimating the exploitable groundwater amount using the recharge amount considering the moving averaged 10-year minimum precipitation and the size of precipitation. This method was applied to the Uiwang, Gwacheon and Seongnam areas and the exploitable groundwater amount was calculated and compared with the results obtained by conventional methods. As a result, it has been confirmed that if the 10-year minimum precipitation is selected in the period including the extreme drought, the problem of underestimating the exploitable groundwater amount can be overcome by using the moving average minimum precipitation.
Objective : This study aimed to investigate the awareness and experience of community-based dysphagia therapy and related education in community-dwelling older adults. Methods : A total of 89 older adults were recruited from a public health center in Gyeonggi-do. Awareness, experience, and related education regarding community-based dysphagia therapy were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results : We analyzed 89 questionnaires. Awareness, treatment experience, and education regarding dysphagia were low; however, the importance and intention to participate were high. Respondents wanted education about proper chewing and safe swallowing, oral health, oral motor exercise, and participation in community-based dysphagia programs in public health centers. The reason for the lack of experience in dysphagia education and therapy is insufficient information and opportunities. The respondents had a good understanding of dysphagia symptoms. Conclusion : Dysphagia therapy maintains swallowing and eating functions as a life-long Activity of Daily Living, and is a very important area in community rehabilitation. Based on the results of this survey, the necessity and importance of community-based dysphagia were identified. It is time to provide correct information and develop a systematic education program for community-based dysphagia therapy. Occupational therapists need to play an active role in improving quality of life by early detection and providing proper intervention.

High-speed railway bridges carry a risk of dynamic response amplification due to resonance caused by train loads, and running safety and riding comfort must therefore be reviewed through dynamic analysis in accordance with design codes. The running safety and ride comfort calculation procedure, however, is time consuming and expensive because dynamic analyses must be performed for every 10 km/h interval up to 110% of the design speed, including the critical speed for each train type. In this paper, a deep-learning-based prediction system that can predict the running safety and ride comfort in advance is proposed. The system does not use dynamic analysis but employs a deep learning algorithm. The proposed system is based on a neural network trained on the dynamic analysis results of each train and speed of the railway bridge and can predict the running safety and ride comfort according to input parameters such as train speed and bridge characteristics. To confirm the performance of the proposed system, running safety and riding comfort are predicted for a single span, straight simple beam bridge. Our results confirm that the deck vertical displacement and deck vertical acceleration for calculating running safety and riding comfort can be predicted with high accuracy.
