  • The purpose of this study is to present and review the possible effect of the learning paradigm shift from traditional method to ubiquitous learning, the societal issues that need to be address in order to design a new pedagogical platform trending from e-learning to m-learning and now the u-learning. That without the proper study of how learning environment may affect the learning process of an individual will lead to poor quality of education. This new era of learning environment offer a big opportunity for "anytime, anywhere" learning. Thus, Lifelong learning is at hand of everyone. Maximizing the benefit of new trend will be a great help and addressing the limitations will lead to quality education. The components that comprise the ubiquitous learning are also discussed together with the technologies that will make it possible. The research learning domains that are in progress which shows that the interest in pervasive or lifelong learning attracted the interest of many research institutions. The types of learning mode and learning modalities are also briefly discussed in this paper.

  • Ubiquitous is a new computing environment with IT technology and information communication, and appling various equipments likes PDA and application parts. Recently, user's using environment is changing to smart phone and is expanded learning tools to learner without educational environment. Thus, in this paper, we designed SCORM based meta-data to use smart phone. For this purpose, we made U-learning server and smart phone process server that is to handling with existence LMS and SCORM. To apply smart phones characteristics that have different ones each other, meta-data was able to have some resource information as like CPU, screen size and memory. The meta-data adapter could be process the characteristics.

  • E-learning has increased on importance as people realize that the use of technology can improve the teaming process. Consequently, new learning environments have been developed. However, in general they are oriented to address a specific e-learning functionality. Therefore, in most of the cases, they are not developed to interoperate with other e-learning tools, which makes the creation of a fully functional e-learning environment more difficult.   • In ubiquitous environment, the analysis for student's learning behaviour is essential to provide students with personalized education. SCORM(Sharable Contents Object Reference Model), IMS LD (Instructional Management System Learning Design) standards provide the support function of learning design such as checking the progress. However, in case of applying these standards contain many problem to add or modify the contents. In this paper, We implement the system that manages the learner behaviour by hooking the event of web browser. Through all of this, HTML-based content can be recycled without any additional works and the problems by applying the standard can be improved because the store and analysis of the learning result is possible. It also supports the ubiquitous learning environment because of keeping track of the learning result in case of network disconnected.

  • Ubiquitous learning has aroused great interest and is becoming a new way for foreign language education in today's society. However, how to increase the learners' initiative and their community cohesion is still an issue that deserves more profound research and studies. Emotional intelligence can help to detect the learner's emotional reactions online, and therefore stimulate his interest and the willingness to participate by adjusting teaching skills and creating fun experiences in learning. This is, actually the new concept of smart education. Based on the previous research, this paper concluded a neural mechanism model for analyzing the learners' emotional characteristics in ubiquitous environment, and discussed the intelligent monitoring and automatic recognition of emotions from the learners' speech signals as well as their behavior data by multi-agent system. Finally, a framework of emotional intelligence system was proposed concerning the smart foreign language education in ubiquitous learning.

  • This paper presents the holistic notion and model of an open social u-learning community, anchored with open content, providing an interactive online study group experience akin to sitting with study buddies on a world-wide campus quad. The interactive social u-learning community design helps conceptualize and maximize advantages of ubiquitous environment in learning. The model is enabled by state-of-the-art web technologies; real-time collaboration technologies for a highly interactive experience; intelligent recommender systems to help learners connect with relevant content and other learners; and mining and analytics to assess learner outcomes. Hence, u-learning design is highly scalable yet interactive and engaging.

  • The purpose of the research is to investigate the perception of corporate and e-Learning institute on ubiquitous society and learning environment in the context of human resource development. In addition, the study aims to analyze their recognition of u-Learning's components into the level of significance and actualization. The total of 118 institutes were participated in the research survey among the 144 e-learning certified institutes from the Ministry of Labor. The research includes the results of survey and implications on the area of human resource development.

  • Purpose - The purpose is to present an efficient library-use education model in the form of flip learning, reflecting traditional teaching methods and gamification elements even in such non-face-to-face and face-to-face situations after COVID-19. Research design, data, and methodology - Research on library use education, research on ubiquitous environment and gamification instructional design, flip the learning, and gamification elements are classified, compared, and analyzed to present educational models for library education, COVID-19 Pandemic situation, and subsequent library use education. Result - We propose an e-learning content development strategy for flipped learning-based library education. First, benchmark and use the existing educational contents. Second, a user-friendly interface is configured so that learners can flexibly organize their learning contents. Third, it allows learners to experience it directly or indirectly in a virtual space. Conclusion - If the e-learning environment can be standardized to the level of schools or educational institutions, a good educational model that can be used not only in library user education but also in other fields will be possible.

  • Information communication technology ultimately pursues ubiquitous environment where people and devices are connected in networks and exchange of information are possible. However there have not been sufficient studies on the technology in spite of higher enthusiasm about education and remarkable educational potentials of ubiquitous technology. In order to effectively utilize the ubiquitous technology, this thesis explored field trip through a constructivism approach and examined ways how to use and integrate ubiquitous technology in developing educational model and system.
