  • A digital home is a ubiquitous environment that is expected to be realized in the near future. All information appliances in a house are connected to each other through wired and/or wireless home networks. Authenticated user can access the various services provided by the digital home, and the access is not restricted by equipment, time, or location. The technologies that form the digital home can be grouped into two categories: wired networking technologies and wireless networking technologies. For the purpose of ubiquitous environments, wireless-networks offer suitable and seamless high-quality services. A wireless LAN can be created simply by equipping a single access point. For that reason, the cost of establishing such a network is low and using it is easy. Of course, there is an exciting new wireless technology. It is the Ultra Wide Band (UWB). However, it is not enough to bring wireless convenience, although offering a broad range of high-speed data transfer capabilities, Because of unstable. Thus, of the wireless-networking systems, we focus on the wireless LAN. We quantitatively analyze its capabilities. The dynamic and adaptive wireless LAN provides a foundation for the evolution toward the next generation of wireless and adaptive networks. The difference between wired LAN and wireless LAN in upload and download rates is small. Although the wireless LAN experiences a greater loss rate than the wired LAN, the difference is minimal. We conclude that a wireless LAN is suitable for use in an apartment environment.

가상 오버레이 네트워크 기반 유비쿼터스홈 네트워킹 구조 (Ubiquitous Home Networking Architecture based on Virtual Overlay Network)

  • 유비쿼터스홈은 댁내 뿐 아니라 휴대폰, 노트북 및 사무실 PC 등 댁외 개인기기를 포함하는 논리적인 영역을 포함한다. 이러한 기기 간에는 NAT, 방화벽 등 기기 간 네트워킹을 제한하는 요소가 존재한다. 또한 댁내에는 IP, IEEE1394, PLC, 블루투스, ZigBee, UWB, IrDA 등 물리적 전송 특성 및 프로토콜이 상이하여 상호 연동이 불가한 이종 네트워크 내에 다양한 기기가 공존하고 있다. 사용자가 원하는 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 각 기기 간 서비스 및 자원의 자유로운 조합이 필수적인 유비쿼터스홈 환경에서는 댁내외 이종 기기 간 자유로운 서비스 연동이 필수적으로 보장되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스홈에서 기기 간 seamless 통신을 제공하는 가상 오버레이 네트워크를 기반으로 댁내외 이종 기기 간 서비스의 자유로운 광고, 검색 및 엑세스를 제공하는 네트워킹 모델을 제시한다.

  • 최근에 유비쿼터스라는 용어가 대중매체 등에서 사용되고 있고, 선진국에서는 이미 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 상업화가 나타나고 있다. 현재 우리나라에서도 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 시대의 비즈니스 모델에 많은 연구를 하고 있다. 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅은 언제, 어디서나 사용하는 컴퓨팅 환경을 지칭하는 말로 다양한 종류의 컴퓨터가 사람, 사물, 환경 속에 내재되어 있고, 이들이 서로 연결되어 필요한 곳에서 컴퓨팅을 구현할 수 있는 환경을 의미한다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경의 홈 네트워킹 시스템의 보다 효율적인 상황인식을 위한 서비스인프라 구조를 제시한다. 지금까지 연구된 상황인식 시스템은 지정된 공간에서 상황을 발생시키는 사용자를 식별하는 일과 식별된 사용자가 발생하는 상황의 인식에 주된 초점을 두고 있다. 그러나 본 논문에서는 보다 효율적인 상황인식을 위해서 구체적인 미들웨어 시스템 구조를 제시한다.

  • Recently, various ubiquitous networking services are developed and implemented for easy living. In general, new ubiquitous networking services require the new infrastructure including equipments and devices. However, it is difficult to replace existing infrastructure and devices with new ones in the home or office because of cost and maintenance problems. In this paper, we developed small-size web based RF wireless communication systems for sensor network applications. The designed RF systems are implemented using commercial system on a chip (SoC) on existing infrastructure and devices. The developed systems are tested for light control and temperature sensing and they are applied to sensor network training courses for students and engineer as well as various practical applications.

Ubiquitous Architectural Framework for UbiSAS using Context Adaptive Rule Inference Engine

  • Recent ubiquitous computing environments increasingly impact on our lives using the current technologies of sensor network and ubiquitous services. In this paper, we propose ubiquitous architectural framework for ubiquitous sleep aid service(UbiSAS) in the subset of ubiquitous computing for refreshing of human's sleep. And we examine technical feasibility. Human can recover his health through refreshing sleep from fatigue. Ubiquitous architectural framework for UbiSAS in digital home offers agreeable sleeping environment and improves recovery from fatigue. So we present new concept of ubiquitous architectural framework dissolving stress. Specially, we apply context to context-aware framework module. This context is transferred to context adaptive inference engine which has service invocation function in intelligent agent module. Ubiquitous architectural framework for UbiSAS using context adaptive rule inference engine without user intervention is technical issue. That is to say, we should take sleep comfortably during our sleeping. And sensed information during sleeping is changed to context-aware information. This presents significant information in context adaptive rule inference engine for UbiSAS. This information includes all sleeping state during sleeping in context-aware computing technique. So we propose more effective and most suitable ubiquitous architectural framework using context adaptive rule inference engine for refreshing sleep in this paper.

  • 본 연구에서는 현재 구현되고 있는 가정자동화시스템(Home Automation systems)들의 단조로운 제어에서 탈피하여, 진일보된 지능형 유비쿼터스 환경을 가정에 도입하기 위한 시스템을 설계하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크(USN)를 기반으로 구성한 홈네트워크(Home Network)에 지능형 환경(Intelligent Environment)을 도입하여 가정자동화 요소들의 지능화된 연계와 Microsoft의 월드모델(World Model)에 입각한 가정자동화 시스템 (Home Automatic Behavior System)을 제안하고자 한다. 또한, 제안된 시스템을 기반으로 35평형 아파트 기준의 가정자동화 시스템을 설계함으로써, 진일보된 지능형 흠의 개념을 정립하고, 기존의 가정자동화 시스템에 비하여 사용자 중심의 유비쿼터스 환경을 조성할 수 있는 월드모델을 도입한 진정한 의미의 가정자동화 시스템을 설계하고자 하는 것이다. 설계된 시스템은 사용자 위치를 추적하고 그에 관련하여 설정된 상황모델을 만족할 때 자동으로 수행되는 행동규칙을 가지고 있어 진일보한 Home Automatic Behavior System으로 평가할 수 있다.

  • Network industry is complex combined with various fields of industry, such as communication, broadcast, construction, and home appliances. Moreover, it's fairly lucrative since the growth industry makes lots of added values, interacting with the others. The network industry, usually called 'Ubiquitous', connects some home appliances and makes an integrated system that you can use them with whenever and wherever. A demand for network security, however, has skyrocketed due to the relatively low safety. It's been expected that the market of home security is going to be grown up nearly 30 percent every year. Recently, analog surveilance cameras have been replaced with digital ones, and they will be providing stronger security services taking advantage of mutual interaction with related industies. In this paper, a mobile monitoring system for home security is proposed, which makes it possible to supervise all home appliances wherever you're, using the conventional wired/wireless network infra.

  • 'Ubiquitous' based on progressive development of IT technology is a new paradigm of the 21th century. In terms of rapid social and technological change, the architectural environment has been changed by computer networking system. According to the condition of the IT business, interior architectural space has been needed to consider applying IT technology for intelligent living environment. To develop the most appropriate architectural interior space applied by home network system, designers need to understand products of the home network system comprised by technical bases and classification of the system. This research is for introducing the information of the recent home network system, products and possible application of ubiquitous system for the future interior architectural space.
