DEVELOPMENT OF A GIS-BASED GEOTECHNICAL INFORMATION ENTRY SYSTEM USING THE GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION RESULT FORM AND METADATA STANDARDIZATION

  • In March 2007, Korea's Ministry of Construction & Transportation (MOCT) established "Guidelines on the Computerization and Use of Geotechnical Investigation Results," which took effect as official instructions. The 2007 Geotechnical Information DB Construction Project is underway as a model project for a stable geotechnical information distribution system based on the MOCT guidelines, accompanied by user education on the geotechnical data distribution system. This study introduces a geotechnical data entry system characterized by the standardization of the geotechnical investigation form, the standardization of metadata for creating the geotechnical data to be distributed, and the creation of borehole space data based on the world geodetic system according to the changes in the national coordinate system, to define a unified DB structure and the items for the geotechnical data entry system and to computerize the field geotechnical investigation results using the MOCT guidelines. In addition, the present operating status of the geotechnical data entry system and entry data processing statistics are introduced through an analysis of the model project, and the problems of the project are analyzed to suggest improvements. Education on, and the implementation of, the model project for the geotechnical data entry system, which was developed via the standardization of the geotechnical investigation results form and the metadata for institutions showed that most users can use the system easily. There were problems, however, including those related to the complexity of metadata creation, partial errors in moving to the borehole data window, partial recognition errors in the installation program for different computer operating systems, etc. Especially, the individual standard form usage and the specificity of the person who enters the geotechnical information for the Korea National Housing Corporation, among the institutions under MOCT, required partial improvement of the geotechnical data entry system. The problems surfaced from this study will be promptly addressed in the operation and management of the geotechnical data DB center in 2008.

  • At Ubiquitous ages I am teaching of the Fifth Generation Languages Program Tool which was producted by Korea at college, and it develop software program for Internet Electronic Commerce Information. In this paper I have researched the problems from education in Operating System and the Use of Tool that Korean 5GL Program Tool was better than Foreign Program Tool on functions and peculiarity, merits and demerits. I have a research and analysis of students response about the Using of Tool, Coding(Script), Application Programming in college education whose have had existing Foreign Tool. Also. I propose that the alternative plans which analyze out opinions from teaching professors and program developers.

  • As coding education is ubiquitous in elementary or higher school curriculum, puzzle-based coding platforms such as Scratch or Entry have been popularly deployed and employed by many Korean coding educational institutions. In this article, we propose a quantitative students' coding assessment methodology and discuss several issues of the method. Besides, we show its usefulness through case studies shown in our proprietary coding platform called "CodingPuzzle" system. Additionally, we describe detailed design and implementation issues of our coding assessment system that has already been ported to the CodingPuzzle system and is currently under operation.

  • Interactivity is very important at ubiquitous e-Learning system oriented multi platform because online study is accomplished by multi media. In this thesis promotion for interactivity is designed at online study. By cyber education with supposed promotion used for a feedback. From now on a special research of study design should be made for interactivity and effectiveness using human sensibility ergonomics.

  • U-러닝은 유비쿼터스러닝(Ubiquitous Learning)의 약자로 개방적 학습자원을 학습자의 필요에 따른 선택에 의해 활용하는 통합적 학습체제 의미한다. 국내에서의 소방교육은 다양한 소방교육 컨텐츠부족 및 시간적 공간적 제약으로 인해 소방안전에 대한 교육이 원활히 이루어지지 못하고 있는 실정이다. U-Learning 구성하여 다양한 컨텐츠를 거주자, 근무자, 방화관리자에게 제공하여 자기주도적인 학습을 통해 평상시 거주자 및 근무자에게 소방시설의 이해 및 사용방법을 교육하고, 방화관리자에게는 소방시설의 관리 및 점검방법을 교육함으로써 화재 및 재난으로 인한 피해를 최소화 할 수 있다.

  • 유비쿼터스 기술의 발전과 더불어 스마트 교육과 관련된 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 교육 분야에서의 최신 IT 기술의 도입의 첫 단추는 도서관 시스템 이였다. 이용자와 도서관의 자료를 효율적으로 관리하기 위하여 많은 기관에서 RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) 소자를 기반으로 관련 RFID 리더 장비와 데이터 관리 장비를 구축하였다. 이러한 기술을 기반으로 유비쿼터스 기술을 학생들이 가장 많은 시간을 보내는 교실의 환경에 적용하여 스마트 교육 시스템으로 구축하는 것은 교육의 첨단화와 연계되어 연구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 자원을 활용하여 네트워크 환경에서의 자원 배분을 원활히 이뤄내는 P2P 기술과 스마트 교육 시스템의 연계점을 연구하고자 한다. 기존 기술의 적용은 안정성과 신뢰성 측면에서 유용하며 새로운 구조의 제안에 있어서 빠른 적용이 가능한 모델로 전개될 수 있다.

  • Ubiquitous computing technology is widely used in not only our everyday lives but also in education, medical care, military, environment and administration. RFID system, the basis of ubiquitous, is in the spotlight which can be an alternative solution of a bar code recognition system and magnetic system as they basically have practicality and security issues. An electronic authentication named smart-key system is recently concerned by an alternative solution of the security unit for an automobile. RFID system which has a general purpose is also in the limelight by an application technology. In this paper we designed vehicle smart key system with general-propose RFID system that is already in use. First, we designed control unit and RFID card reader for vehicle smart key system. Then we propose an algorithm and prove that the vehicle key system is controllable by showing the result of implementing and testing, after installing. Also security level is enlarged by proposing a authentication protocol between RFID reader and control unit.

  • u-learning (Ubiquitous Learning) 환경에서는 학습자들이 언제, 어디에서나 어떤 단말기로도 자유롭게 학습할 수 있는 학습자 중심의 교육과정이 가능해야 한다. 최근 각광을 받고 있는 태블릿 (Tablet) PC는 펜을 주로 입력 매개로 활용하고, 음성을 인식하여 이를 문자로 변환하여 저장할 수 있는 기능도 가지고 있어 초등교육 현장에 적합한 단말기이다. 또한 PBL (Problem-based Learning)은 학습자들이 자기주도적으로 문제를 해결해 가는 과정에서 문제해결력과 비판적 사고 기능을 신장시킬 수 있는 학습형태로 태블릿 PC 기반의 PBL 학습시스템은 u-learning 환경에서 학습자 중심의 교육과정 실현에 적합한 시스템이다. 본 연구에서는 태블릿 PC 기반의 PBL 학습시스템의 인터페이스 설계 방안을 제시해 보았다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 사용자 인터페이스의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습의 프로세스를 프로젝트의 목적 및 과제 파악 단계, 학습계획 수립단계, 자료의 수집 및 정리단계, 프로젝트 마무리 단계로 구분하고, 각 단계에서의 학습자의 활동을 지원하는 시스템으로 구성한다. 둘째, 태블릿 PC 기반에서의 학습 활동에 서투른 학습자도 직관적으로 접근 할 수 있도록 인터페이스에 아이콘을 적절하게 활용한다. 셋째, 태블릿 PC에 펜이나 음성으로 입력된 자료를 문자, 도형, 이미지로 손쉽게 저장하고 축적할 수 있도록 한다. 넷째, 학습자들간의 상호작용과 교사의 피드백을 손쉽게 할 수 있도록 게시판, 자료실, 통합 메시지함의 기능을 활성화한다.

Mixed Mobile Education System using SIFT Algorithm (SIFT 알고리즘을 이용한 혼합형 모바일 교육 시스템)

  • Due to popularization of the wireless Internet and mobile devices the infrastructure of the ubiquitous environment, where users can get information whatever they want anytime and anywhere, is created. Therefore, a variety of fields including the education studies methods for efficiency of information transmission using on-line and off-line contents. In this paper, we propose the Mixed Mobile Education system(MME) that improves educational efficiency using on-line and off-line contents on mobile devices. Because it is hard to input new data and cannot use similar off-line contents in systems used additional tags, the proposed system does not use additional tags but recognizes of-line contents as we extract feature points in the input image using the mobile camera. We use the Scale Invariant Feature Transform(SIFT) algorithm to extract feature points which are not affected by noise, color distortion, size and rotation in the input image captured by the low resolution camera. And we use the client-server architecture for solving the limited storage size of the mobile devices and for easily registration and modification of data. Experimental results show that compared with previous work, the proposed system has some advantages and disadvantages and that the proposed system has good efficiency on various environments.

The Development of Authoring Tool for Distance Education of Ubiquitous Environment (유비쿼터스 환경의 원격교육을 위한 저작도구의 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop FVU, which enables teachers effectively to construct self-page on the screen, to reduce the size of file for teaching, and to correct many different kinds of event which was already made in the previous. The instrument used in the development of this Editor is UML(Unified Modeling Language), which is object-oriented methodology. The Authoring tool developed in this study is named FVU. The first page which is needed in class can be constructed by using VUEditor in FVU. Using VUEditor can get Instructional Syllabus exported into VUAuthor through Vector-transformation. Through this procedure, the size of image file comes to be reduced into forming low band width, which results in solving the problem of network traffic. Also, Instructor can create image, shape and text, and delete and correct errors or mistakes which make in the course of constructing materials for teaching. In conclusion, this VUEditor enables program designer to construct the first page, even without using such applied program as Image Tool and Power Point. This VUEditor makes instructor to make some contents for teaching easily.
