  • We attempted to fabricate polyurethane derivatives (PU-CN, PU-DCM) LB films by using LB method. Also, we investigated the monolayer behavior at the air-water interface by surface pressure-area (${\pi}$-A) isotherms. The surface morphologies and the physicochemical properties of LB films were investigated by atomic force microscopy(AFM) and UV-vis spectroscopy, respectively. And, the electrical properties of polyurethane derivatives LB films were investigated by using the conductivity and the dielectric constant. In the surface morphologies, physicochemical and electrical properties of polyurethane derivatives LB films, the properties is different as to the polyurethane derivatives, it is considered that this phenomena could be described by the difference of lumophore pendant which was adhered at PU main chain.

  • ZnO thin films were grown with different plume-substrate angles by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) to control the amount of ablated species arriving on a substrate per laser shot. The angles between plume propagation direction and substrate plane (P-S angle) were 0$^{\circ}$, 45$^{\circ}$ and 90$^{\circ}$. The growth time was changed in order to adjust film thickness. From the XRD pattern exhibiting a dominant (002) and a minor (101) XRD peak of ZnO, all films were found to be well oriented along c-axis. From the AFM image, it was found that the grain size of ZnO thin film was increased, as P-S angle decreased. UV intensity investigated by PL (Photoluminescence) increased as P-S angle decreased.

  • We have prepared 1-D BiSI and 2-D BiOI nanostructures, and characterized them by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction crystallography, thermogravimetric analysis/differential scanning calorimetry, and UV-visible absorption. Here, we first report clear HR-TEM image of BiSI. In addition, we first found that the growth direction of BiSI is [12-1] plane, with the neighboring distance of 0.30 nm. The crystal structures of BiSI and BiOI are found to be orthorhombic (Pnam) and tetragonal (P4/nmm), respectively. The absorption band gaps of BiSI and BiOI are measured to be 1.55 and 1.92 eV, respectively. Our study could further highlight the applications of V-VI-VII compounds.

  • In this work, Integral photography with variable focusing lens arrays is proposed. We fabricate two-dimensional liquid crystal lens arrays using cohesion of UV curable polymer and lithography. Applied voltage to the cell alters the effective refractive index of the liquid crystal layer and results in a change of the focal length. By adjusting the focal length, synchronized elemental image array for real or virtual mode is integrated in front of or behind the lens array.

  • Microlens made by laser radiation method have advantages in the easiness of their fabrication. The process is based on the projection of a chromium-on-quartz reticle on to the Polymer using a pulsed 248nm KrF excimer laser. Fabrication process is a fluence-dependent rate and density. The lens shape is defined by a rotationally symmetric sluence distribution with smooth radial variation in the image plane of the reticle. A typical lens of 50㎛ diameter was fabricated by irradiating 2000 laser pulses within 40 seconds. The experimental results show microlens fabrication by UV laser is possible and well worth studying further.

  • The far-ultraviolet (FUV) H2 and C IV emission images and spectra of Orion Eridanus Superbubble (OES) is hereby presented. The OES seems to consists of multiple phase through the detection of highly-ionized gas and pervasive neutral hydrogen. The former is traced by hot gas while the latter is traced by cold medium. A spectral image made with H2 fluorescent emission shows that the spatial distribution of hydrogen molecule is well correlated with the dust map. The model spectra was taken from a photodissociation region (PDR) radiation code which find a best suitable parameter such as hydrogen density, gas temperature and incident uv intensity of the radiation field. C IV emission is caused by intermediate temperature ISM about 10^4.5 K~10^6 K. Therefore we could get more clear evidence to reveal the structure of OES. Feature of spectra for the each sub region is also presented and discussed. The data were obtained with the Far-Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph (FIMS) and the whole data handling were followed by previous FIMS analysis.

  • The symmetric benzoxazolo carbocyanine is of industrial importance as green-sensitizing dye in the spectral sensitization of emulsion microcrystals in positive paper and negative film-making. The stability on the solvents of benzoxazolo carbocyanine dye was measured by UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and then all of solvents were stabilized sensitizer. The maximum absorption peak range in methanol, acetonitrile, acetone, DMF, dichloromethane, chloroform solvents was $501nm{\sim}511nm$. But it was identified that only methanol can be used to photographic emulsion. The photographic characteristics have contrast of 2.8, speed of 50-55$(lux{\cdot}sec)^{-1}$, fog of 0.07-0.08, respectively.

  • Organic-inorganic hybrid materials have attracted because of its combined properties, such as flexibility and high electrical performance. In addition, the hybrid materials are expected to have synergic effect which are not shown in just one component. Here, we fabricated organic-inorganic hybrid thin film. Organic-inorganic hybrid thin film have been deposited from diethyl zinc and 1, 2, 4-trihydroxybenzene (THB) by molecular layer deposition (MLD). UV-VIS, Using Infrared spectrum and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy confirm that Zinc and THB hybrid film (ZnTHB) consist of Zn-O and THB - oxide units and the micro structure and composition of hybrid film. hat the sequential surface reactions of diethyl zinc and ethylene glycol are sufficiently self-limiting and saturating to enable well-controlled MLD growth. Transmission electron microscopy image shows lamination growth of ZnTHB film according to cycle.

  • We demonstrate an optically compensated bend (OCB) cell with pixel-isolating polymer wall. The polymer wall is formed by anisotropic phase separation of LCs and UV-curable polymer. The fabricated cell is initially in ${\pi}-twisted$ state so that it shows uniform and fast bend transition without any transition nucleus. The proposed cell has lower driving voltage than conventional OCB cell. Also, the polymer wall provides mechanical stability, hence preventing distortion of display image from external pressure.

  • Poly-Si films have been prepared by solid phase crystallization of LPCVD(low-pressure CVD) amorphous silicon. The crystallinity of poly-Si films has been derived from UV reflectance spectrum and lies in the range between 70% and 80% . From XRD measurement the peak at 28.2$^{\circ}$from (111) plane is dominantly detected in the SPC poly-Si films, The average grain size of poly-Si film is determined by the image of SEM and varies from 4000 $\AA$ to 8000$\AA$. The electrical conductivity of as-deposited amorphous silicon film is about 2.5$\times$10$^{-7}$ ($\Omega$.cm)$^{-1}$ , and 3~4$\times$10$^{-6}$ ($\Omega$.cm)$^{-1}$ of room temperature conductivity is the SPC poly-Si films. The conductivity activation energies are 0.5~0.6 eV or the 500$\AA$-thick poly-Si films.
