A Privacy Negotiation Algorithm for Digital Rights Management

  • Internet-based distribution of digital contents provides great opportunities for producers, distributors and consumers, but it may seriously threaten users' privacy. The Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems which one of the major issues, concern the protection of the ownership/copyright of digital content. However, the most recent DRM systems do not support the protection of the user's personal information. This paper examines the lack of privacy in DRM systems. We describe a privacy policy and user's privacy preferences model that protect each user's personal information from privacy violation by DRM systems. We allow DRM privacy agent to automatically negotiate between the DRM system policy and user's privacy preferences to be disclosed on behalf of the user. We propose an effective negotiation algorithm for the DRM system. Privacy rules are created following the negotiation process to control access of the user's personal information in the DRM system. The proposed privacy negotiation algorithm can be adapted appropriately to the existing DRM systems to solve the privacy problem effectively.

사용자 경험에 기초한 디지털 TV EPG 채널 정보구조 설계 (Design of EPG Information Architecture on Digital TV based on User's Experience)

  • 본 연구는 사용자의 경험에 의해 형성된 인지된 정보구조를 TV EPG 시스템에 적용한 것이다. EPG 시스템은 사용자에게 다양한 TV프로그램 시청 기회를 제공하는 반면에 기능 중심의 정보구조는 사용자가 원하는 채널 탐색 시 어려움을 가중시켰다. 이와 같은 이유는 EPG 시스템의 UI가 사용자의 인지된 정보구조와 일치하지 않은 메뉴정조를 제공하고 있기 때문이다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 사용자 경험 중심의 방법론 제시하였고, 사용자 중심의 EPG 시스템의 정보구조 설계 방향을 제안하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 디지털 TV 전자 프로그램 가이드 설계를 위한 새로운 접근방법론에 기여할 것이다.

  • 본 연구는 정보기술의 발전과 사용자 중심의 개발환경으로 인해 변화된 정보환경 속에서 정보센터의 새로운 방향 설정을 위해 정보센터의 관리 특성요인과 사용자의 만족도를 중심으로 그 상관관계를 살펴보았다. 본 연구가설의 검증을 위해 서로 다른 정보센터를 활용하고 있는 41명의 사용자로부터 설문을 받아 활용하였다. 조직의 정보서비스에 대한 사용자의 만족도 향상에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 파악된 정보센터와 관련된 활동들을 살펴봄으로써 최근의 사용자 중심의 정보환경 속에서 새롭게 고려되어야 할 사항들에 대해 논의하였다. 본 연구결과는 시스템측면에서 새롭게 변한 정보센터가 사용자들에 대한 서비스활동의 강화를 위해 고려해야 할 사항에 대한 식견을 제공할 것으로 사료되어진다.

유튜브 먹방 채널의 콘텐츠 품질 및 유튜브 속성이 이용만족도와 행동의도에 미치는 영향에 관한연구 (The Impact of Content Quality and YouTuber Attributes on User Satisfaction and Behavioral Intentions in Food Mukbang Channels)

  • In this study, based on previous research on personal broadcasting, we indirectly measured content quality, YouTuber attributes, user satisfaction, and behavioral intention, which are latent variables that cannot be directly measured, as measurement variables, and then measured theoretically between the latent variables. In order to analyze the causal relationship, we used a structural equation model to determine to what extent the content quality of the YouTube mukbang channel and the YouTuber's attributes influence behavioral intentions such as purchase, recommendation, and continued use according to viewers' satisfaction with use. We intend to analyze and verify the relationship between related variables. The research results are as follows. First, the value, relevance, timeliness, completeness, and data quantity of content quality were found to have no significant impact on user satisfaction. Second, the trustworthiness, expertise, attractiveness, and intimacy of YouTuber attributes were found to have a significant impact on user satisfaction, but the similarity of YouTuber attributes did not have a significant impact on usage. Third, user satisfaction was found to have a significant impact on behavioral intentions and purchase intentions. However, user satisfaction was not found to have a direct significant impact on recommendation intentions or continued usage intentions.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 디지털 환경에서의 이용자기반의 개념을 기초로 한 이론적 연구를 통해 도출된 이용자기반 정보 검색시스템의 설계요소별로 대학도서관 정보검색시스템의 설계에 있어서 고려되어야 할 이용자 요구를 420명의 대학생을 대상으로 52문항으로 구성된 설문지 조사를 통하여 이용자 계층의 정보요구 발생에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 시스템 설계요소별로 이용자기반 접근에 따른 인지적, 사회적 측면에서 분석하였다.

스키마 개념을 도입한 사용자 계획수립의 용이도 평가 (Evaluation of Planning Transparence of User Interface Reflecting State Schemas)

  • It become increasingly important to design user interface to carry low complexity. The cognitive limitations of users severely restrict utility of highly intelligent but complex modern systems. Since humans are known to use schemas to reduce cognitive complexity, imposing good consistency to an interface design that may help that user form useful schemas will provide powerful control over the complexity. This present a research effort to develop a quantitative method for evaluating interface complexity that the user would experience planning his or her course of action. Taking into account the user's potential schemas, a quantitative measure based on information theory was develped to assess the navigational complexity. This approach does not rely on the subjective judgment of the researcher as most schemes dealing with user schemas do. The proposed method may benefit the rapid prototyping approach to design a better user interface by allowing handy assessment of the design.

  • The User Interface (UI) in the company is more important than ever. But the application of UI for the industry use is restricted by various constraints such as delivery, technical limitation, etc. User Interface designers in the company have thought how to set up the UI organization, how to define identity and goal, how to communicate with other teams, what is the best UI process, and many other issues. In this paper, the author discuss the practical issues arisen when User Interface organization is formed and managed based on the mobile phone manufacture's perspective. The pros and cons of location of UI organization, advanced UI organization, UI member formation, UI role, UI output, UI evaluation, and understanding of UI in the society and company are discussed. This discussion will help UI designers in industry to set up and manage UI organization.

스마트카드 기반의 사용자 인증 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Smart-Card Based User Authentication)

  • User authentication scheme is a method for controlling unauthorized users' access to securely share the services and resources provided by the server and for verifying users with access rights. Initial user authentication scheme was based on passwords. Nowadays, various authentication schemes such as ID based, smart-card based, and attribute based are being researched. The study of Lee et al. suggested a user authentication scheme that provides forward secrecy and protects anonymity of users. However, it is vulnerable to attacks by outsiders and attackers who have acquired smart-cards. In this paper, we propose a modified smart-card authentication scheme to complement the weakness of the previous studies. The proposed user authentication scheme provides the security for the ID guessing attack and the password guessing attacks of the attacker who obtained the login request message and the user's smart-card.

사용자 중심 서비스디자인을 활용한 치과예방서비스 개선 사례연구 (A Case Study on The Improvement of Dental Clinic Preventive Service Using User-Centered Service Design)

  • Purposes: The objective of this study is to analyze service design process of dental clinic preventive service by using 'Double Diamond Design Process' which is user-centered for improving dental clinic management efficiency. Methodology: We examine case study that dental clinic preventive service of local dental clinic. Following the double diamond design four steps(①discover, ②define, ③develop, ④deliver), we use suitable analytic tools in each steps. In discover step, we perform observation and desk research. Next, in define step, affinity diagram, user persona, and user journey map are performed. We then make service blueprint in develop step. Finally, in deliver step, virtual scenario and confirm some outputs which are based on results of former steps are suggested. Findings: As a result of this study, waiting and consulting phases turn out that these phases are in the most trouble than others. Users(patients) have lots of complain and dissatisfaction in these phases. These touch-points will have to be modified Practical Implication: After checking this study result, it could suggest improvement schemes. To apply these, we try to make some scenarios, and finally realize some outputs. Service design has arisen to strengthen the competitiveness by reflecting user's experience and needs. Especially, service design is not typical, it is so flexible that can apply to various situation and objects. We hope that result of this study is made good use for dental clinics in need.

정보시스템 평가지표 개발에 관한 실증적 연구 : 공공부문을 중심으로 (An Empirical Study on Development of IS Evaluation Indices : In Case of Public Sectors)

  • In this research, the comprehensive evaluation model of IS(information systems) for public sectors is theoretically constructed through reviewing and integrating previous IS evaluation-related research. This model is hypothesized to consist of five sectors(System Sector, User Sector, Organization and Management Sector, Resource Management Sector and Strategic Contribution Sector), ten evaluation items belonging to these five evaluation sectors, and sixty two evaluation indices for these ten evaluation items. The results of empirical analyses to test the validity of the research model show that the evaluation sectors turn out to be the same ones as proposed in the hypothetical model. The evaluation items(System Quality, Information Quality, Service Quality) in System Sector proves to be consistent with the hypothetical model. However, in case of User Sector, two evaluation items(Perceived Usefulness and User Satisfaction) which are included in the hypothetical model are found to be merged into one item(User Satisfaction). And, it is shown that four evaluation items such as the Efficiency of Internal Process, Customer Satisfaction, Organizational Innovation, and the Degree of Informatization competence improvement are included in Organization and Management Sector, differently from the research model in which the items, Organizational innovation and the Degree of Informatization competence improvement, are not divided. As a final result, sixty two evaluation indices that comprise all the evaluation items belonging to five sectors are found to be reduced to fifty seven ones through factor analyses, criterion-related validity tests and reliability analyses.
