한국 남동해안 감포 연대산 지역 해안단구 상고위면과 고고위면 지형발달 (The Geomorphological Development of Marine Terraces UHS (upper higher surface) and HHS (high higher surface) around Yeondae-san, Gampo-Eup, Southeastern Coast of Korea)

  • In this study, the distribution and topographic development of marine terraces, UHS (Upper Higher Surface) and HHS (High Higher Surface) at Yeondae-san area, Gampo-eup were discussed. We critically examined on the substance of the Yeongdong-myeon (a low-lying erosion surface) in the east coast of Korea. In study area, UHS including UHS-246m, UHS-241m, UHS-235m, UHS-220m, UHS-210m and UHS-220 is found on the highest altitude among the marine terraces in Korea. The existence of UHS requires new interpretation on topographical surface like Yeongdong-myeon, which has been commonly accepted as a theory in the society of Korean Geography. Since UHS is distributed continuously ascending on the altitude of HHS, the period of formation should be understood in the same context. And UHS of paleo-shoreline 246m has been estimated to be formed about 1.5 million years ago.

  • 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 환경에서 헬스케어를 제공하기 위한 새로운 유비쿼터스 헬스케어 서비스(UHS) 구조에 관해 서술한다. 이 새로운 서비스 구조는 두 가지의 특징을 가지고 있다. 첫 번째로 헬스 케어 서비스 에이젠트(Healthcare Service Agent)에 의한 헬스케어 서비스 요소(Healthcare Service Element) 선택에 관한 헬스케어 서비스 컴포지션(Healthcare Service Composition)과, 두 번째로 유비쿼터스 헬스케어 환경에서 서비스 요소 발견을 위한 새로운 헬스케어 서비스 에이젠트 구조에 관해 서술한다. UHS는 다양한 형태의 헬스케어 서비스 요소를 다루며, 이 헬스케어 서비스 요소는 사용자가 원하는 모든 의료정보에 관한 내용으로 나타낼 수 있다. UHS 기술은 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 다양한 서비스를 제공할 것이다.

Real-time Impact Evaluation of a Capacity-Building Health Project in Lao PDR

  • This study presents a real-time impact evaluation of a human capacity-building health project in Laos, financed by a Korean aid agency and executed jointly by Laotian and Korean higher educational agencies. The project aims to improve the health status of Laotians by enhancing practicing doctors' clinical performance capacity, to be attained by advancing academic achievement at the University of Health Sciences (UHS) in Laos. Therefore, this real-time impact evaluation adopted the difference-in-differences regression analysis method, showing that the project improved the academic achievement of the UHS students who were taught by the project fellowship awardees more, compared to the UHS students who were taught by non-fellowship faculty members. It remains to be evaluated whether these UHS students taught by the project fellowship recipients would also perform better clinically in public hospitals in the future.

Probabilistic analysis of peak response to nonstationary seismic excitations

  • The main objective of this study is to examine the accuracy of the complete quadratic combination (CQC) rule with the modal responses defined by the ordinates of the uniform hazard spectra (UHS) to evaluate the peak responses of the multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) systems subjected to nonstationary seismic excitations. For the probabilistic analysis of the peak responses, it is considered that the seismic excitations can be modeled using evolutionary power spectra density functions with uncertain model parameters. More specifically, a seismological model and the Kanai-Tajimi model with the boxcar or the exponential modulating functions were used to define the evolutionary power spectral density functions in this study. A set of UHS was obtained based on the probabilistic analysis of transient responses of single-degree-of-freedom systems subjected to the seismic excitations. The results of probabilistic analysis of the peak responses of MDOF systems were obtained, and compared with the peak responses calculated by using the CQC rule with the modal responses given by the UHS. The comparison seemed to indicate that the use of the CQC rule with the commonly employed correlation coefficient and the peak modal responses from the UHS could lead to significant under- or over-estimation when contributions from each of the modes are similarly significant.

초고속 자기부상철도 개발을 위한 시스템엔지니어링 계획서 (Systems Engineering Plan for the Development of Ultra-High-Speed Maglev Train System)

  • The systems engineering (SE) process shall be applied to the project for successful development of ultra-high-speed (UHS) Maglev train system which is one of very large and complex systems. It is important to abolish technology differentials from the advanced developers such as Germany, Japan, etc. and to ensure discriminatory competitiveness of the application of systems engineering process for the development of the system based on appropriate concepts and requirements. General operation concept and stakeholder's requirements of UHS Maglev train system must be elicited with system concept for initiating the project. The management plan should be devised for all sorts of systems engineering activities of risk management, performance management, lifecycle cost management, etc. This paper would support to establish the systems engineering management plan (SEMP) for the program of UHS Maglev train system development with associated documents.

암반 지반의 재해도 스펙트럼에 기반한 토사지반 원전 부지의 등재해도 스펙트럼 평가 기법 (Uniform Hazard Spectrum Evaluation Method for Nuclear Power Plants on Soil Sites based on the Hazard Spectra of Bedrock Sites)

  • 암반지반에 주어진 등재해도 스펙트럼에 상응하는 원전부지 토사지반에서의 등재해도 스펙트럼을 도출하기 위한 확률론적 방법론을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 지진 운동 및 지반의 불확실성을 고려한 지반응답 해석을 통해 토사지반 지표에서의 지진동 증폭계수를 산정하였다. 증폭계수는 가장 상관관계가 높은 지반운동의 스펙트럴 가속도 규모와의 회귀분석을 통해 계산되었다. 이 방법론을 적용하여 국내 KNGR (Korean Next Generation Reactor) 및 APR1400 (Advanced Power Reactor 1400) 원전의 포괄부지 지반 중 B1, B4, C1 및 C3 지반을 대상으로 등재해도 스펙트럼을 도출하였다. 등재해도 스펙트럼을 통해 지진동 발생 빈도 별 위험 주파수 대역을 평가하고 분석하였다. 이 결과는 원전의 종합적 지진리스크 평가 결과를 보다 합리적으로 개선하는 데에 활용될 수 있으며, 향후 다양한 종류의 토사지반에 대한 등재해도 스펙트럼을 평가하는 데에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

트레드밀 운동 시 속도와 부하가 하지 근활성도와 근력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Load and Speed of Treadmill Exercise Impact on Muscle Strength and Muscle Activity)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of load and speed of treadmill exercise impact on muscle activity and muscle strength. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: The study was conducted for 12 female student from G University. Treadmill exercise was divided into four groups (ULS, LLS, UHS, LHS). Results: 1) There was significant difference in muscle activity of tibialis anterial, medial head of gastrocnemius, rectus femoris, biceps femoris muscle in ULS, UHS (p<0.05). 2) There was significant difference in muscle activity of tibialis anterial, medial head of gastrocnemius, rectus femoris, biceps femoris muscle in LLS, LHS (p<0.05). 3) There was significant difference in muscle activity of tibialis anterial, medial head of gastrocnemius, rectus femoris, biceps femoris muscle in ULS, LLS (p<0.05). 4) There was significant difference in muscle activity of tibialis anterial, medial head of gastrocnemius, rectus femoris, biceps femoris muscle in UHS, LHS (p<0.05). 5 There was significant difference in muscle strength in LHS (p<0.05). Conclusion: Exercising with high speed and load has more influence on the muscle activity and muscle strength of the lower extremities.

산업부산물을 활용한 초고강도콘크리트의 제조 (Manufacture of Ultra High Strength Concrete using Industrial by-products)

  • This paper presents the fundamental study on rational manufacture of Ultra High Strength(VHS) concrete using industrial by-products as like silica fume, slag and fly ash. In this study, we had tested various mixing cases to manufacture the UHS concrete(target compressive strength : over $1,000kgf/cm^2$) which is easily workable (target slump flow : $60{\pm}10cm$). The main variables are studied: 1) to find the optimum replacement ratio of mineral admixture. 2) to find a rational water-binder ratio and a proper binder content. 3) to find the method for reduction of slump loss. From the test results, it is concluded that the rational mix design can be made by using 40% slag, 10% silica fume. We found that compressive strength of UHS concrete increases according to decreasing W/B ratio but in W/B ratio 18~20%, the difference is vague and the compressive strength does not necessarily increase according to increasing binder content over 700kg.

면진된 모형디젤발전기의 지진응답실험 (The Shaking Table Test of Isolated Model EDG System)

  • This paper presents tile results of experimental studies of the isolated Model EDG Systems. For the experimental work, the scaled model of EDG system and the isolation systems were developed. The target EDG model is 16PC2-5V400 which was manufactured by the SEMT Pielstick corporation. The Coil Spring and Viscous Damper Systems were selected for the isolation system. The Coil Spring and Viscous Damper systems can reduce not only seismic forces but also the operating vibration. For the input seismic motions, the scenario earthquake and the artificial earthquakes which were developed as NRC design spectrum and Uniform hazard Spectrum(UHS) were selected. As a result, at least 20% of seismic forces were decreased as the isolation system.

Derivation of response spectrum compatible non-stationary stochastic processes relying on Monte Carlo-based peak factor estimation

  • In this paper a novel approach is proposed to address the problem of deriving non-stationary stochastic processes which are compatible in the mean sense with a given (target) response (uniform hazard) spectrum (UHS) as commonly desired in the aseismic structural design regulated by contemporary codes of practice. The appealing feature of the approach is that it is non-iterative and "one-step". This is accomplished by solving a standard over-determined minimization problem in conjunction with appropriate median peak factors. These factors are determined by a plethora of reported new Monte Carlo studies which on their own possess considerable stochastic dynamics merit. In the proposed approach, generation and treatment of samples of the processes individually on a deterministic basis is not required as is the case with the various "two-step" approaches found in the literature addressing the herein considered task. The applicability and usefulness of the approach is demonstrated by furnishing extensive numerical data associated with the elastic design UHS of the current European (EC8) and the Chinese (GB 50011) aseismic code provisions. Purposely, simple and thus attractive from a practical viewpoint, uniformly modulated processes assuming either the Kanai-Tajimi (K-T) or the Clough-Penzien (C-P) spectral form are employed. The Monte Carlo studies yield damping and duration dependent median peak factor spectra, given in a polynomial form, associated with the first passage problem for UHS compatible K-T and C-P uniformly modulated stochastic processes. Hopefully, the herein derived stochastic processes and median peak factor spectra can be used to facilitate the aseismic design of structures regulated by contemporary code provisions in a Monte Carlo simulation-based or stochastic dynamics-based context of analysis.
