  • As the spectrum shortage problem has accelerated by the emergence of various services, New Radio-Unlicensed (NR-U) has appeared, allowing users who communicated in licensed bands to communicate in unlicensed bands. However, NR-U network users reduce the performance of Wi-Fi network users who communicate in the same unlicensed band. In this paper, we aim to simultaneously maximize the fairness and throughput of the unlicensed band, where the NR-U network users and the WiFi network users coexist. First, we propose an optimal power allocation scheme based on Monte Carlo Policy Gradient of reinforcement learning to maximize the sum of rates of NR-U networks utilizing rate-splitting multiple access in unlicensed bands. Then, we propose a channel occupancy time division algorithm based on sequential Raiffa bargaining solution of game theory that can simultaneously maximize system throughput and fairness for the coexistence of NR-U and WiFi networks in the same unlicensed band. Simulation results show that the rate splitting multiple access shows better performance than the conventional multiple access technology by comparing the sum-rate when the result value is finally converged under the same transmission power. In addition, we compare the data transfer amount and fairness of NR-U network users, WiFi network users, and total system, and prove that the channel occupancy time division algorithm based on sequential Raiffa bargaining solution of this paper satisfies throughput and fairness at the same time than other algorithms.

  • It is important to study on the traffic accident severity reduction because traffic accident is an issue that is directly related to human life. Therefore, this research developed countermeasure to reduce traffic accident severity considering various factors that affect the accident severity. This research developed the Accident Severity Prediction Model using the collected accident data from Seohaean Expressway in 2004~2006. Through this model, we can find the influence factors and methodology to reduce accident severity. The results show that speed limit violation, vehicle defects, vehicle to vehicle accident, vehicle to person accident, traffic volume, curve radius CV(Coefficient of variation) and vertical slope CV were selected to compose the accident severity model. These are certain causes of the severe accident. The accidents by these certain causes present specific sections of Seohaean Expressway. The results indicate that we can prevent severe accidents by providing selected traffic information and facilities to drivers at specific sections of the Expressway.

  • IP Switching is a new routing technology Proposed to improve the Performance of IP routers. Flow classification is one of the key issues in IP Switching. To achieve better performance, flow classification should be matched to the varying IP traffic and an IP switch should make use of its hardware switching resources as fully as possible. This paper proposes an dynamic flow classification method for IP Switching. By dynamically adjusting the values of its control parameters in response to the present usage of the hardware switching resources, this dynamic method can efficiently match the varying IP traffic and thus improve the performance of an IP switch.

  • Ground Vibrations were measured at one location near the railroad track at a site about 3.2 kilometers north of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, U.S.A., Measurements were made during the passage of 18 freight trains over the six-day period. The objective of this study was to evaluate ground vibration levels from train and other traffic at possible construction depths for the Superconducting Super Collider(SSC), The criterion with which the vibration levels are compared is the more stringent one : that is, 0, 0005 inchs(about 0.0127 m) at 3H2, The measurements show conclusively that vibration levels generated by railroad traffic in the rock at the depth of 100 it (30m) or more are at least 10 times smaller than the criterion.

  • With automobiles sharply increasing in numbers worldwide, we are faced with critical social issues such as traffic accidents, traffic jams, environmental pollution, and economic inefficiency. In response, research on ITS is promoted mainly by regions with advanced automotive industry such as the U.S., Europe, and Japan. While Korea is working on moving forward in the global market through developing and turning to global standards systems related to ASV (Advanced Safety Vehicle), the country is not fully prepared for such projects. The purpose of ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) is to control a vehicle's longitudinal speed and distance and minimize driver workload. Such a system should be valuable in preventing accidents, as it reduces driver workload in the 21st-century world of telematics created by development of the automobile culture industry. In this light, the thesis presents a method to test and evaluate ACC system and a mathematical method to assess distance. For the proposed test and evaluation, theoretical values are tested with vehicle test and a database is acquired, by using vehicles equipped with an ACC system. Theoretical evaluation criteria for developing ACC system may be used and scenario-specific evaluation methods may find useful application through testing the formula proposed by comparing the database and mathematical method.

  • UTM is an air traffic management ecosystem under development for autonomously controlled operations of UAS by the FAA, NASA, other federal partner agencies, and industry. They are collaboratively exploring concepts of operation, data exchange requirements, and a supporting framework to enable multiple UAS operations beyond visual line-of-sight at altitudes under AGL 500ft in airspace where air traffic services are not provided. Minimum Safe Altitude is a generic expression, used in various cases to denote an altitude below which it is unsafe to fly owing to presence of terrain or obstacles. The European drone regulation mentions that the UAS is maintained within 120 metres from the closest point of the surface of the earth during flight, except when overflying an obstacle. This study attempted to develop a minimum flight altitude database system. Based on domestic and international rules and regulations on setting the minimum flight altitude it is expected that it can be applied to the operation of aircraft and unmanned aerial system in UTM environments for specific area in Korea.

  • In this paper, we propose stereo vision-based obstacle detection and vehicle verification methods using U-disparity map and bird's-eye view mapping. First, we extract a road feature using maximum frequent values in each row and column. And we extract obstacle areas on the road using the extracted road feature. To extract obstacle areas exactly we utilize U-disparity map. We can extract obstacle areas exactly on the U-disparity map using threshold value which consists of disparity value and camera parameter. But there are still multiple obstacles in the extracted obstacle areas. Thus, we perform another processing, namely segmentation. We convert the extracted obstacle areas into a bird's-eye view using camera modeling and parameters. We can segment obstacle areas on the bird's-eye view robustly because obstacles are represented on it according to ranges. Finally, we verify the obstacles whether those are vehicles or not using various vehicle features, namely road contacting, constant horizontal length, aspect ratio and texture information. We conduct experiments to prove the performance of our proposed algorithms in real traffic situations.

  • In this paper behavior of U-Channel Bridge (UCB) was studied, and a new analysis model was proposed. Most of the time, permanent and traffic load actions are directly transmitted to main beams located under the carriageway, one of the most distinctive features of UCB is that the edge beams that support the bridge are above the deck, in contrast with a conventional overpass system. In This study models used with the frame elements, the frame and plate elements, and the solid elements were constructed. Assuming that the results of solid models were similar to the real behavior of UCB, results of another models was compared. The results of the models used with the frame and plate elements were similar to the results of solid models, the model used with the frame and plate elements was proposed as an analysis model.

  • The goal of this study is to develop Logistic regression model by accident location(entry section, exit section, inside intersection and pedestrian crossing section). Based on the accident data of Chungbuk Provincial Police Agency(2004$\sim$2005) and the field survey data, the geometric elements, environmental factor and others related to traffic accidents were analyzed. Developed models are all analyzed to be statistically significant(chi-square p=0.000, Nagelkerke $R^2$=0.363$\sim$0.819). The models show that the common factors of accidents are the traffic volume(ADT), distant of crossing and exclusive left turn lane, and the specific factors are the minor traffic volume(inside intersection model) and U-turn of main road(pedestrian crossing model). Hosmer & Loineshow tests are evaluated to be statistically significant(p$\geqq$0.05) except the entry section model. The correct classification rates are also analyzed to be very predictable(more than 73.9% to all models).
